Why are all his movies so deep and boring? Why do people love his work so much?
>>
hes shit indeed
>>
Poor copies of superior Western works

inb4 plebs who think I'm talking about Black Swan
>>
They aren't deep, but they do showcase his talent as an animator. There is probably a prophecy somewhere that the day will come when a man appears who possesses the talent to both write a story and illustrate it.

Aren't there plenty of manga artists like that?
>>
Millennium Actress
Paprika
Perfect Blue

all crap
>>
Tokyo Godfathers is his best movie by far and it's neither particularly deep nor at all boring.
>>
The same reason morons love cute girls.
>>
>>100485845
LOL no.
>>
Stay plen. His movies aren't even that deep4u.
>>
>>100485845
No.
>>
>>100485868
I don't know about the others, but he didn't write Paprika, so it's not his fault.

Stop samefagging

http://myanimelist.net/people/4580/Satoshi_Kon

he did
>>
Satoshi Kon's films aren't deep, but he is an amazing director.
Millennium Actress is one of the greatest and most human films in this medium.
>>
>>100485868
>Millennium Actress
>Perfect Blue
>crap

How can you have such shitty tastes?
>>
>>100486045
Did what? Write it? He didn't, otherwise there wouldn't be another author with a different name, face, and body who coincidentally shows up on the DVD interview to talk about the story...that he wrote and it got turned into an animated movie.
>>
The sad thing about his death was that he wasn't even at his peak yet.
>>
>>100486464
While it is terribly sad that he passed away, I do think he was past his peak or was at least in a slump. Paprika and Paranoia Agent weren't on the same level as his earlier films.
>>
>>100486565
You have to remember that the careers of directors are long.
He's directed only like 5 works which is small compared to other prominent anime directors.

He probably worked on the screenplay, but it was based on a novel.
