ITT: People who made more than 1 great manga
pic not necessarily related
How does one define greatness?
Who is Kumeta?
By his personal preference
Things I like.
Arakawa is still at zero, pretty sure that's less than one
Everything he has done so far has been amazing,
but Monster and 20th Century Boys are masterpieces
in their own right.
I honestly thought both were overrated, but I only watched Monster though.
What a Pleb
how could you have thought that without reading 20th century boys though?
Monster was great, but I think that 20th century boys kind of turned to shit after the timeskip.
I read 20th Century but watched Monster
You're joking right? The Monster anime is extremely faithful. Madhouse did a bang up job with it.
Hitoshi Iwaaki(notable for making both of the two best mangas ever)
I personally loved all of it. Its pacing was very peculiar but that's always the case in these realistically sprawling epics, like The Stand.
That got an anime then? I haven't read it since chapter 2-3 was out, it was enjoyable but not my cup of tea
>watching anything you could be reading
>implying it was really all that faithful
Not sure where you have been, but season 2 is airing in the season.
Is arakawa pretty?
That guy who did Vinland Saga and Planet's.
I see. I don't follow anime much. I tend to avoid it even on /a/
Nah, it's pretentious shit that hypes up mysteries that the author can't write proper conclusions for. It doesn't get much weaker than that.
Might be the case, but the animation is mediocre at best
Has more than 10 volumes in the series.
If you honestly cared at all about the shallow mystery aspects of these two mangas, youve missed the point completely.
You mean less than 4 because Japan has shit taste.
Writing the same series over and over again doesn't count.
If you're into older women I guess
I meant the post-bloody new years eve, the manga sort of just kept on dragging on afterwards.
Sure it was still good, but I felt it wasn't as good as the pre-bloody new years eve part.
Eh, not really, but I suppose she must have been attractive earlier on
What's up with that silly sideways hat, and gun?
The gun is for reference, the hat is just a hat.
I don't share your opinion, but I see how one could see it this way. It's like an antirely different genre from that point.
>not wearing a silly hat as a mangaka
Berets are stereotypically worn by european artists, and japan is euroboo, particularly in art
Hot damn yes PLEASE Ms. Arakawa.
Isn't that Romi Paku?
What was the point of 20th century boys?
What's the other one, Historie?
So much this.
Living the dream
That's not Arakawa.
Has Mizukami ever made a bad manga?
They've done some really bad ones, (Tsubasa Chronicle especially) but Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth, X, and Card Captor Sakura stand out as classics.
Oyasumi Punpun, Solanin
Tekkon Kinkreet, Takemitsu Zamurai (if it counts)
Vinland Saga, Planetes
Monster, 20th Century Boys
Buddha, Hi no Tori
Lone Wolf and Cub, Kubikiri Asa
Marie no Kanaderu Ongaku, Genkaku Picasso
Inoue only has Vagabond.
Endo for Eden and Meguru
spirit circle is really good by the wy
I'm waiting for it to finish and be scanlated before I marathon it.
I hope you're only listing two for each author, because Inio, Tezuka, Matsumoto, Furuya, and Koike have more than just two good works.
I am, I just wanted to keep it standard.
Inoue has Real as well.
>Hoshi no psycho circle general
Well yeah Mizukami obviously.
I wouldn't call Real great, it is definitely better than Slam Dunk though.
He's never made a good manga.
