Why hasn't Hollywood made a Gundam movie yet?

Because Bandai is cheap, so they went to Vancouver instead. They're like Hollywood lite.

The strange thing was, Lionsgate Films wanted to do a Gundam movie and got Syd Mead to do some concept designs way back in 1983...but Sunrise didn't want them to, so the project didn't go anywhere.

Syd Mead still lists it as part of his filmwork, though.

For the record it was never announced to be Gundam. We'll know for sure on the 21st. Then again, seems kinda obvious at this point.
