Just finished watching this and I have to say I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

What did you guys think of it?

Same here. I'm not sure why I started it in the first place. I usually oogle around and check series' summaries before I start them. Out of all SoL anime I've seen thus far, this has been the best. It has warm characters and it has no supernatural plot elements and it feels down to earth. The movie was nice too. I just wish they'd have told what happened to Ohana's father.

Loved the movie, anime had slow parts which was a bit of turn off

I think it's awesome.
This was one of the shows where the first episode or two gives you a really negative feeling that makes it hard to get going with though.

Mari Okada has greay stuff. Watch PA Works original Nagi no Asukara

Nagi no Asukara is really good but it isn't like Hanasaku Iroha.
While HanaIro felt almost healing, Nagi no Asukara feels like suffering and only seems to get moreso lately.
