I want to Honey's honey.
I may not be watching Doki with you guys when it comes on. Having to set up all my torrents over again because something broke.
Heart is cute
damn i want to watch this show but in Spanish subtitules is literaly shit and no actually show for watch.
Watch it in English, ese. It's a toy commercial for little girls, it's not like it's got complicated language.
>3D dancing in the show itself
Precure is ruined!
Nah, just joking. I've grown used to 3DCG because of my /m/ shows. However, I'm not sure how well it would fit cute girls. The battleship anime was bareable if a little jerky. I liked how inhuman it made the battleship spirits even if it also made the humans inhuman as well.
I miss Smile.
Since somebody asked in the other thread, here is the translation.
>Q: Onto the next topic, why was the theme "fashion" chosen for the next precure series, Happiness?
>A: "Fashion" has always been the "killer content" for shows intended for children. However, when doing animation, the burden on the sakuga staff is too great and we avoided it. But this time we tried to find our resolve. There is no doubt that there will be so many costumes like never before in precure's 10 year history. Also, making use of the know-how accumulated through successive generations of CG ending dances, we've put together the "fight through dance" setting. Please look forward this new story which will feature full-3dcg dance scenes!
Just watch it raw, the English subtitles aren't that great either. Especially for Dokidoki 47!
>fight through dance" setting.
>Please look forward this new story which will feature full-3dcg dance scenes!
What's up with the delay of DokiDoki Ep47 from Doremi?
Is that phrasing entirely specifically accurate? Because if so, it doesn't actually say that the dance battles are CG.
>Please look forward this new story which will feature full-3dcg dance scenes!
>fights through dancing
>3D CGI fight scenes
Happiness = Uncharged.
A bloo bloo bloo
That's a really long-winded way to say "Because we're copying Aikatsu"
Well, if it looks at least half as good as the more recent endings, and looks better than the Fresh movie, it'll be fine
Well, the threads should be interesting to say the least, no matter how good or bad the CG is.
And you guys thought that nothing could ruin HaCha. I'll still marathon it at some point even if I do drop it though; I'm here for life.
Don't know, but it's hard to wait
>Cures vs Generals dance battles
I remain hyped, though slightly cautious now.
PreCure is a series that actually manages to mostly seamlessly incorporate CG without it looking completely fucking shit.
That's a high bar to measure up to.
Yes, it doesn't say LITERALLY that the battles are 3d (that is, there is no "3dcg battles" written there), but I think that was what he meant when he said "look forward cg dance" if you put it together with "fight through dance".
RULES OF PREEEECUUUUREEE AAAAAAAAH~
They've set their own bar, now they have to meet, or exceed it.
Only the EDs. Which are special, anyways. They're designed to be easily animated.
Try putting in a full CG action scene. Would look like shit.
Yeah, I'm not sure about how I should feel.
I'm still a bit charged though.
This bro is right. Nothing was mentioned about CG fight scenes. They're just building hype for the dancing and ED sequence.
How much would you guys pay for this?
This is why you don't get hyped. Toei will always let you down.
One of the members went AWOL, apparently.
Don't remember which one.
My happiness is still charged
It's the "fight through dance" part that has me convinced that there will be 3D in the show itself.
Heck, there might not be any actual fighting.
If they're using the same cel shader they used in Doki's EDs and they pay close attention to the choreography it might be fine. I'm certainly not going to shit myself over it, it can't look as bad as Kamen Rider CG.
I'm still hyped, it's just that I didn't actually expect them to start boasting about CG fights in the show like that, and for fights that involve dance moves at that. They aren't aiming for the sky, they're aiming for the fucking space.
You know they do use CG outside of the EDs, right? So far that shit has been fine; I imagine the CG being not too in-focus played a significant role in that. Can't say anything about Doki and Smile yet, though.
As I said, I'm still looking forward to it. The prospect of 3D battle scenes doesn't sit well with me, but I'll remain neutral until I see them. And aside from that, they probably won't be completely CG all the time. Could be they're gonna have tons of CG dancing and separate from that a fighting choreography heavily inspired and themed after dances animated in 2D. I mean, they gotta have sakuga and Kawano off-modeling them at some point, shit's not possible with 3D.
Okay, you got me interested. What's a good way to get started on Precure? Is the first series worth watching? Are there some that aren't so good?
The communes have always been 3DCG and they've always looked off.
3DCG just can't blend with 2D, they have methods of animating too distinct from one another.
Watch a few episodes of a random season you think has a decent art style, and switch to a different season if you don't like the first 5 episodes or so. Just avoid Max Heart and GoGo since they are sequel seasons.
All seasons have their charms and faults, really.
You can start wherever you like besides Max Heart and GoGo which are sequels.
Either start at the beginning or with HeartCatch. Remember that every series is different, so if you don't like one, try another before dropping.
The first series is worth watching it.
You can jump in at any point but Futari wa PreCure Max Heart and Yes! PreCure 5 GoGo, since they're both sequel seasons.
Common starter points are either Futari wa, Splash Star or Heartcatch.
Don't watch FW/Max Heart close to Splash Star.
Heartcatch and Splash Star are widely liked. Max Heart and GoGo are sequels.
If you like one, you'll probably like the other seasons in some capacity.
I'd say start with Heartcatch and go from there.
The only things you really have to be wary of is that Max heart and GoGo are sequels to Futari wa and Yes5 respectively.
That gif is from Futari wa, the first season. Seasons vary in quality, but none are outright terrible. Look them up on wikipedia and pick your favourite.
This better be at least Aikatsu S2 tier or Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live tier.
I don't want another Aikatsu 1st cour or arpeggio.
We've got to solve this somehow. But OP boilerplate is so ugly.
>I'm still hyped, it's just that I didn't actually expect them to start boasting about CG fights in the show like that, and for fights that involve dance moves at that. They aren't aiming for the sky, they're aiming for the fucking space.
It's mostly that having CG really limits what you can do. Notice how the EDs don't really have that much facial movement - the expression never changes on camera. The motions are also very simple, and for the fight scenes we're used to it'd be rather underwhelming.
>You know they do use CG outside of the EDs, right? So far that shit has been fine; I imagine the CG being not too in-focus played a significant role in that. Can't say anything about Doki and Smile yet, though.
Rarely for fights. And DX2 looked awful.
>3DCG just can't blend with 2D, they have methods of animating too distinct from one another.
Not always. A lot of times you can trace over 3D models, and that could be fine. Using 3D references has been done since the 80s.
It'll be like the first batch of Aikatsu's CG.
There's no choice. Now that it's come to this, I'll have to watch Aikatsu. To prepare myself mentally.
The editor is busy. They have the translation but don't want to publish before his consent.
The fact it's becoming another Aikatsu/Pretty Rhythm is already bad
Welp, I'm dropping Precure. Fuck this.
Rotoscoping != 3DCG.
Even when you do rotoscoping, a certain degree of liberty has to be taken when tracing.
Deformation is a very important aspect of 2D animation that can't be replicated using 3DCG, at least not today.
Arpeggio wasn't bad
>and for the fight scenes we're used to
Good fight scenes dwindled in number since Smile. While Smile still had a fair number of them, Doki had so few of them and really just a couple were actually -really- good.
Good battles are dead, and so is my hype.
Oh wow. Will I be completely lost if I just start at episode 51?
It can, but it costs way too much money to bother.
So precure is now basically dead?
Tracing over 3D != Rotoscoping.
But it is a way to integrate 3D with 2D. It might not be "strictly" CGI, but it's just an interesting point.
>Deformation is a very important aspect of 2D animation that can't be replicated using 3DCG, at least not today.
Sure it is. Ever seen a Pixar film?
It's super expensive though.
> fight through dance
Toei is dead
>Good fight scenes dwindled in number since Smile. While Smile still had a fair number of them, Doki had so few of them and really just a couple were actually -really- good.
Good battles are dead, and so is my hype.
It's been one season. I think that's a little premature.
Fresh had shitty fights, for example, and I wonder what that was followed by.
>M-MY TOY COMMERCIAL SAKUGA ;_;
Go watch Kill la Kill or something. Fuck off.
No, people just over exaggerate something they haven't seen in action yet and immediately disappoint themselves.
>IT'S JUST FOR KIDS
>THERE FOR I CAN MAKE IT SHITTY, THEY'LL BUY IT ANYWAYS!!
Fresh fights weren't bad per se, it's just that the whole quality of the art in the show was abysmal. As a fightfag, I didn't have any problem with Fresh.
No you fuck off, you're not a real Precure fan if you think 3DCG dances are welcomed in the battles.
>Go watch Kill la Kill or something. Fuck off.
>Implying KLK is animated
Precure has always had great fights. I love cute girls too, but that's not all I enjoy about Precure.
>I'M A REAL FAN BECAUSE THIS THING THAT I SAY
k bro imma enjoy my dance precure
Typical Doki newfag
>How much would you guys pay for this?
If it was a Blu-Ray I'd pay three month's rent.
Yes. The focus is still on the same group of characters from the first season, but with some new ones added.
Well I suppose you won't be completely lost, but you'd miss a lot. The first season is great.
The fights weren't bad compared to the rest of the show, but even then they were nothing stellar. Even Gogo, for all its shitty quality, had some great animation here and there.
I want Milk to bounce on me.
Whatever you say man.
If you wanted good animation, Precure is hardly the place to find it.
Stop, you've gone too far.
It's not about animation, it's the fact they're jumping the dumb 3DCG bandwagon like Aikatsu and Pretty Rhythm when the original concept was super sentai meets magical girls.
This is the key. They are trying to avoid saying it directly, but it really means that they will do the action with CG and have "Dance Battles" instead.
Anybody else hyped for this?
I guess I'll stop enjoying all these shows about cute girls being friends and protecting smiles, since I'm not a real fan. Thanks for showing me the error of my ways, mate.
How cheeky can we expect Princess to be? That shit-eating grin is really charging my happiness.
That wasn't the original concept. That was Sailor Moon's concept, or Yes 5's. But not Futari wa's.
I for sure haven't seen such a show for this entire year, I've just seen a shitty show about Mana Sue.
Precure after Smile = dead.
That's not funny, my love for precure died that way.
Depends. She could be very cheeky, or Eirika++ cheeky
What I mean is that Futari wa had the same features as toku shows, such as the combat battles and not being able to transform unless they were together. Not exactly sentai but you know what I mean. Sailor Moon was nothing like that and had shitty battles anyways.
>Heck, there might not be any actual fighting
I'll go to Japan and beat them up. Since they're Japanese, they're small and weak so I should be able to take them easily.
If you think about it, this explains why the previews have shown nothing of the actual show itself and restrained it to just the transformation. Every other PV has had first episode footage except HaCha.
That's production team bias. If you want something like that for HaCha, the team has to love it like it was their collective kid.
Yeah, this news that they're going to use some CG in battle scenes really reeks of aping Aikatsu's schtick.
More curious as to what it really means. Dances every episode? Are dances their special attacks? Are dances their ONLY attacks? I'm not buying that all the fighting will be 3DCG like some of you are implying. I'm guessing they're going to transform, beat monsters into submission, then have dances as finishers.
Hacha will still have fights, but for future seasons hopefully they will go full Ojamajo.
Not just CG battles, CG DANCE battles
Really hope this isn't happening every episode, such a waste of good concept with the form changes
Not really, no. I don't expect them to be pulling out dance forms in episode 1, so it makes no difference.
>this whole thread
Thanks for reminding me I'm on /a/.
Why not have Precure be Precure and Ojamajo be Ojamajo? Just because you prefer one doesn't mean variety is bad.
They would be pulling all the dance forms they can to create hype. There's no reason to restrain themselves.
Overreacting to everything is the name of the game here in /pc/.
You see, the problem is that the show drama just isn't there, not enough at least. If you remove fights, it won't become Ojamajo. It will be... some kind of abort which has long lost its reason to live.
>CG DANCE battles
See, but that hasn't been said.
They said "Fight through dance" and "look forward to our 3D dances".
Those could be completely separate. 3D fucking dance finishers and ED dances and maybe henshin scenes I doubt it, that's sakuga opportunity fucking #1, yeah.
Full 3D battle scenes with dancing? No, doubt it. They're gonna be 2D.
All this delusion.
"Full CG-dance scenes" doesn't leave much options.
>not enough at least
Because time is wasted with the fights.
No, it was just Tanaka having a boner for Urara.
Precure has a ton of talented animators, though. The quality is inconsistent but sometimes you get a Shida or Yoshida or Tanaka or Umakoshi on the show and man, that's amazing shit.
And at other times an 8-year old with crayons finds the keyframes and scribbles all over them.
It wouldn't be /pc/ otherwise, anon.
They also said that the "battle through dance" comes from their experience with cg endings though...
I think you better accept reality, or your butthurt will be maximum when all your expectations are betrayed.
Let's call it optimism. Nothing's set in stone.
It does. "Full CG-dance scenes" means we are going to have CG dances. Not CG battles.
>And at other times an 8-year old with crayons finds the keyframes and scribbles all over them
Don't bully Kawano pls.
When does it start? Do I have enough time to get through 21 episodes of Dokidoki at a slow pace?
You have 29.5 hours. That'd be easy.
If you're talking about HaCha, it starts on February 2nd.
Some help here curefags. The precure games for ds is wroth to play?
2nd of February. You have two weeks left, so if you aren't dawdling around and watch 2 episodes per day, then yes.
W-Why don't we just wait for the show to air? It's only two weeks away, right?
We can complain then, instead of fighting with each other over an article nobody here really understands.
They are minigame collections.
>Get HC director back
>Everyone expecting good fightan because that + how simple the base designs are
>Instead we are getting CG
Never change Toei.
>>100423047 Hang on, I didn't account for our time. For us it starts on February 1st.
>Everyone expecting good fightan
People have been assuming they'd use CG since form changes were first announced. I don't get why everyone's acting like this is a huge surprise.
I've been through Doki. If the CG is even only half decent, it can't be worse than Doki.
>instead of fighting with each other over an article nobody here really understands.
But we do understand, and fighting is fun.
I withhold judgement until I see a few episodes of it. Even if I do dislike HaCha, I still have HC, Suite, Smile and Doki left. I'm still set with enough PreCure to wait out and watch HaCha in batches to see if it gets better.
The Max Heart one is a decent brawler, I cleared it.
The Yes 5 one is a slightly strange strategy game. I gave up half way through.
The GoGo one has a mode that's almost a fighting game. Kind of neat, but limited. I gave up half way through.
Haven't played the others - I think they're just minigame collections.
Nobody expected that the fights (proper fights) would be entirely removed, but now that seems very possible.
Well, Precure confirmed for idolshit.
I've been wanting to get into Jewelpet for for sometime, now is the best time.
>People have been assuming they'd use CG since form changes were first announced.
Everyone expected it in a worst case situation, there's no way this would happen, not even Toei is this dumb-way. No one truly expected it to really happen.
Honestly? If only the henshin and footage is CG I'm okay with that, but the whole fightan? Fuck no.
>we will never get a game where you can design your own Precure and play through your own unique storyline
Start with Twinkle, it's like the Heartcatch of Jewelpet.
>Best Jewelpet is still not subbed
No it's not, Twinkle is shit
These new villains are slightly less lame than the fat octopus guy.
I keep picturing them as the two people laughing in that one Gintama gif. No idea why.
It'll be subbed in five years, don't worry about it.
Do they actually fight?
I really don't get it. Why? Why would they all skip this?
We can still have a manga about it at least ;_;
Jewelpet isn't that kind of series, it's about the pets and their magical powers.
Twinkle is more magical girl oriented, has the most obnoxious version of Ruby, shitty writing but it's praised by people who are into it because of the "moe" characters and they haven't seen the other series.
It's more like the Doki of Jewelpet franchise.
You just got a powerup last episode, with a new attack and new toys. In this episode, two new generals appeared. Why are you even bothering with your tier 1 attacks?
Which Jewelpet (or whatever) was like Milky Holmes?
Now that's a proper comparison.
Kira Deco, it has the same main staff
Don't cry, Setsuna.
Everyone should be crying right now.
>she sees the 3dcg announcement
Should I start from this then? I don't need subs but it's listed as a sequel...
Tears of joy.
Each season is self-contained, don't worry about it.
You can start with any series of Jewelpet, really.
Why is it like every new piece of information goes from hype to "WHY" to hype? It's like a vicious cycle of confusion
why is Hime groping Lovely? also she could effectively wrap her with her twintails
The seasons aren't related at all, watch in any order you like. Although Happiness has some references to earlier seasons.
If they do dancing in their battles... Doesn't it mean they'll all get different dances, and inevitably different themes, for each form? We'll get lolipop hip-hop breakdancing and sherbet ballet swirling around gracefully, isn't that awesome?
It probably won't be the whole fights, just a few dance sequences as finishers. I'm sure it'll turn out great.
Nah, let's just bitch and moan about how Precure is dead while thinking of worst-case scenarios.
>All those ellipses
>Not always thinking the worst-case scenario whenever Toei is involved
You can't be disappointed if you are always disappointed. Nowhere to go but up.
It could be well done for all we know. But it would be dishonest to say that we want CG instead of sakuga.
Are we doing this shit now?
That was probably what they meant when they said "it's too great a burden for the animation department".
to be honest I really loved fresh dancing in 3dcg, but 2d was terrific. So I guess HaCha is better off that way
Okay good point
Toei+dancing in 2D=eye cancer
Maybe I'll just skip HaCha for now. I'd rather not be disappointed and participate in the inevitable shit flinging that's to come.
>A BLOO BLOO AIKATSU RUINED PRECURE NO FIGHTING NOW
You know what? I'm done with you. You people are so fucking enthralled by your own narrative it's impossible to talk about anything with you. You don't see a perspective.
For starters, this show has mooks. IT HAS ENEMY COMBATANTS. Let me repeat this again. HAPPINESS CHARGE FEATURES ENEMY GRUNT CHARACTERS. Why in the fuck would they need them if they were just going to dance the enemy to death in stock footage?
Oh right, that makes no sense.
Fighting dance is not an uncommon theme in Toei's superhero shows, dating back to at least as old as Battle Fever J. These guys literally danced through battle. Then you have awesome scenes like in Kyoryuger where they incorporate dancing moves in fight during transformation. Using dance moves in battle isn't such a farfetched concept for a superhero show for kids.
CG animation is going to be used for one reason alone - it's now easier to use it for animating scenes that require much action. If it wasn't, if it wasn't good enough, they wouldn't use it. Even back in Fresh CG that Toei did was miles ahead of anything Aikatsu has now. It's been over five years and if you think that they did not progress with their methods, you're delusional. Of course it's not gonna have impeccable shading, unique movement or lots of visual effects, but it doesn't need to if it's to blend with traditional animation.
I'm not trying to read.
Pretty good copypasta, saved.
While you do sound a bit mad, I heartily agree with you.
Short version: why even bother watching Precure if you complain and threaten to stop watching at the drop of a hat?
Next you're going to say you think Doki is good
I only did it twice man it's okay.
I don't know, I really love the CG. Though I do hope the kicks and punches and fist fights will still be in 2D. I'm sure they'll be, they need 3D only for dances.
Just let them get it out of their systems. /pc/ will be back to hype by tomorrow.
Have you seen good action CG come out of Toei? Rakuen Tsuiho isn't looking promising, and that's supposed to be a movie. The character movement is hardly better than Aikatsu's current CG, as it is now.
The best action CG with characters is arguable BRS, but even that required the heavy visual design choices to dampen the look of CG. If they make it look like the characters normally do, I can see it being offputting.
I'm not complaining, The only thing I complain about is Doki Doki being very hard for me to watch.
at least this isn't Decade's fault
They didn't even let him finish his speech.
It's a really good question why I bothered to watch the entirety of DokiDoki.
Busou Shinki used CG for fast movements and flying and it looked perfectly fine.
You funny guy, I sink you last.
>out of Toei
>CG animation is going to be used for one reason alone - it's now easier to use it for animating scenes that require much action.
We don't give a shit about what is easier. I don't think 3dcg will ever top 2d, but even if it might in the future, today it doesn't.
Toei's "good enough" might be shit for all we know.
You are deluded if you think CG fights could be as good as the ED dances. Those dances aren't even proper action scenes, they are 1 and a half minute designed to last for half a year without changes. They don't even feature interaction between characters. You know why they don't? Because it would suck. 3dcg shouldn't be used for that, unless you have [insert western company here] budget for every second of your show. And that's how they want to use it. And that's why people are mad.
Are you sure about that?
How about you just wait and see? You can't change anything anyway.
No one's complaining about the dance. The CG endings look good because they get six months to produce them, not a week or two. They would need to cut a lot of corners to produce as much content every week. Why don't you use your head as well and realize that there's no reason to be optimistic either? We haven't seen it in action yet.
>Stop talking! You are not allowed to speculate or discuss anything because I say so!
How about you shove it up your ass?
Enen becomes the fairy for Echo my dream comes true
>The CG endings look good because they get six months to produce them
You don't know this. It's probably less than a month in actuality.
>there's no reason to be optimistic either
That's exactly right, there's no reason to feel anything until it's out, but all the whining crying and bitching is getting annoying to read. Nobody here knows how Toei operates, nobody, but people love to play expert for some reason.
It's like asking me to just wait and see the sun rise each morning instead of assuming it will.
While there is no way of philosophically, ultimately, proving it, it's fair to say that's what you can expect.
And I'm expecting shit.
I'll shove it up your ass. If you want to speculate, at least be informed and not at the "I feel we are at the end of times" level.
Why do need dramatic pauses on an imageboard?
>Baaaaaaaaaw stop talking in a way I don't like!
>Nobody here knows how Toei operates, nobody, but people love to play expert for some reason.
Including you apparently.
>And I'm expecting shit.
With this mindset, you've already lost. People set unreasonable expectations yet come in with negative mind. No surprise they aren't pleased by the result whatever it may be.
>People set unreasonable expectations
Sorry, I'll try to expect less than shit next year.
>It's like asking me to just wait and see the sun rise each morning instead of assuming it will.
In the red corner: the entire human history as precedent and a rock-solid theoretical foundation
In the blue corner: a vague news post mentioning 3dcg and dances
We're expecting a close and exciting fight.
Maybe you should just find something else to watch instead of crying shit in /pc/. This does not promote healthy discussion either.
Notice the lower framerate and the simple shading. This is what I would expect it to be in the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR1jSO1_BaM
which yellow do you want to fug
They really want that Aikatsu audience.
It did have the highest selling girl toy in 2013 after all. Bandai is probably behind these changes.
Any one is fine.
A bad topic will always bring bad discussion. There's no way the topic of "fighting will be replaced by CG" will be discussed in a civil and positive manner unless you find the 5 people in the whole world who prefer this change and lock them down in the same room forever.
That's because it was a better toy.
Viewership has actually almost no effect on how well toys sell. Toys themselves do. Go-Busters showed that.
Maybe the dancing will be as crazy as Pretty Rhythm's summoning dragons and shit.
Precure is finished, it doesn't even make any sense to talk about anti- or not anymore.
>It's a bad topic because I say it's bad
Also, they did not say "fighting will be replaced by CG" because there's no fighting anymore to begin with
Go-Busters didn't sell well either. Kyoryuger has almost the same ratings, but the toys sold like gangbusters. Your point is right, but your example isn't.
WHAT THE FUCK
When I said Go-Busters I meant that despite how good show was and though the ratings weren't lower than the neighboring shows, toys were bad, so they didn't sell well. It is an example of no direct show-to-sales influence so I'm not wrong.
Those reactions are hilarious.
And yeah, of course they didn't literraly say that but it's one of the many things one is able to assume from reading that. Maybe it's not exactly what will happen, but they, we have nothing to base our discussion yet besides our own interpretation.
I think he's using Go-Busters as an example of toys not selling because the toys were boring.
What? No. That animation is alright.
Well that was hilarious.
Ah, ok, that makes sense. Go-Busters wasn't very toyetic to beging with. I think they never mentioned the name of the guns and swords they used once in the entire year.
We lived through Max Heart.
We lived through GoGo.
We lived through Fresh.
We will live through this.
Mana should appear and take all the smile cures to the nearest love hotel...
I hope you are not implying that Fresh was bad.
This guy is even better:
It looked terrible.
What the fuck did I just watch?
Stop panicking guys. This shit can be good if done well.
Is this... Mahou Shounen?
Would anyone really prefer boring beamspam stock over goofy shit like this?
did he just become the dreamworks logo
THE HELL IS THAT SHIT
I hope they stick with the Aikatsu S2 CG dance and cards..
but fuuuuck nothing more!!
>if done well.
That's the keyword. On Toei you never bet.
So I can make dramatic posts.
>Sword is physically pained by the concept of smiling.
the last opening is full of spoilers
I think I'm gay now.
I'd be in pain too if being forced to smile while being given such shit treatment.
It's bad discussion because you want it to be. You're completely deforming what they said, for all we know the dance might only be finishing moves.
I'm entirely okay with CG fighting. What does that make me?
See? That's the problem. We don't know what it will be, and it's way easier being negative than positive, specially because >Toei.
Nothing to do but wait how the fuck it will truly be.
Toei are running a business. They aren't trying to fuck you over on purpose.
I'm sure the dancing will only be the finishing movies. Mostly certain of it. That's why I mentioned Pretty Rhythm turning dancing into PSX-era Final Fantasy attacks.
It makes you my friend.
>They aren't trying to fuck you over on purpose.
Dancing in akb0048 is not full-cg though.
>Battle though dancing
Precure has just became better.
This. Toei doesn't give a fuck about sakugafags. The only reason Precure is even 2D in the first place is because live-action mahou shoujo shows are garbage and the technology to make it fully CG isn't really there yet. Once it is and it's affordable you can bet your bottom dollar that they'll jump on that shit with full force.
> live-action mahou shoujo shows are garbage
Poitrine and the likes were pretty great for the time.
The time is not now however.
"fine" isn't "good", though. That's the problem. Where's the opportunity for really good looking dance/fight scenes, if everything is CG? Unless they pull some MJP tricks and introduce smearing.
How about battle through singing?
Welp I finally saw this episode.
I keep telling myself one of these days, Japanese people pretending to be English speakers will stop being funny. Seriously, how many English speakers know what 'chanbara' means? Seriously, WHO LOOKS AT AN ARCHER AND THINKS ABOUT NINJAS?
Volleyball! Volleyball? Volleyball.
The drama at the end could have been solved with a bookcase.
What I'm really trying to say is, this episode was god damned amazing.
Not really. Girly girls communicating with their fists makes a good contrast.
Girly girls dancing is expected, there's nothing unique about it.
>fighting will be replaced by CG
Whoa whoa, they never said replaced. Just that the dancing would be there
Now this is setting the bar too high. Like, way too high man. Just don't. For your own good.
>Where's the opportunity for really good looking dance/fight scenes, if everything is CG?
Toei doesn't need to please people who care about good animation. They do it because there's people on the staff who enjoy putting quality into their work, but at the end of the day their target audience is little girls and if it's cute and colorful they'll dig it.
>Where's the opportunity for really good looking dance/fight scenes
In theatrical movies. TV production does not have enough time and money in it. If you expect every episode to be great, unique and interesting, you're just being unreasonable.
Wester is so fucking cute.
I want to be that box.
Good thing I chose Aikatsu instead of PR
>If you expect every episode to be great, unique and interesting, you're just being unreasonable.
Obviously I don't expect everything to be great, but it would be nice if there are some good moments. Movies aren't the only place where you can see good animation.
You know, the real worry here is that it's from Toei. Like if it was any other studio, it would probably be getting a "meh" or "this sucks" but it's Toei and they are only good when they really want to try like on the EDs or if they get an exceptional staff.
>because there's no fighting anymore to begin with
Now, see they didn't say that. I mean, they are fighting in NS3 (like that's an indication of anything)
And then why would they have the grunts?
Is the difference between Aikatsu and Pretty Rhythm that the latter has boys and the former doesn't?
PR is drama central, but Aikatsu hardly has any. Also Aikatsu has/had better production values in general. The first season of it is a good looking anime.
You think that CG comes even close to some of the sakuga in pretty cure? That's ridiculous.
>Toei doesn't need to please people who care about good animation.
You can't really ask people not to be mad though. By that logic, Toei should have just shafted fights long ago. But they didn't. This fueled people hearts with the hope that they were still doing it because they wanted to make an "artistically" good product (and by this I mean something which animators could have fun to work with, and put their hearts into it), instead of one made to sell alone.
I'm not saying they weren't made to sell, but it felt like there was something more to it, and now they are gradually abandoning that "something". It's normal to feel betrayed I think.
It looks better from the thumbnail.
I like Jojo, but this is so gay
Jupiter wasn't that gay
PR is like a K-Drama
I'm okay with it, too.
Where'd that article come from anyway?
>PR is like a K-Drama
it's fine, I like K-Dramas since I stopped watching Brazilian telenovelas
But what about the boys though
Aikatsu only has a few boys (and one trap). PR has them central to the plot.
Wester is a perfect example of a male moe character. Nigger's just way too fucking endearing.
I think the best part of him is the gap moe.
Tall and bulky man, pretty boy, yet clumsy and stupid. A villain with black clothes and green hair, yet he helps people and all his plans fail.
Plus him being here makes Soular and Eas seem so evil and dark, he's a great character for that.
And he's so pure too. Adorable.
Aikatsu has a trap?
I guess I know what's getting pushed to the head of my backlog.
He doesn't stay like this for long, unfortunately. If it's any consolation, his voice seems to be getting girlier as the series continues.
Sadly, the first precure anime was the only one that had good cqc fights.
Why can't any other precure anime have fights that are as good?
Because it's easier to make friends with someone you've never met without punching them in the face repeatedly.
Why do people keep posting this average animation?
I personally found fights in later series much more interesting, mainly because I actually cared about the characters. I think it was a fair trade.
Anyways, you should be grateful they were there at least, since we can't say they are a given anymore now.
The choreography was good, and it is pretty damn good animation. Not very flashy, but remember that pans are just generally hard to do.
I think it's because there are swords.
Because it has a nice choreography to it.
Compare with >>100422265, which has real-life tier smoothness (during the joint lock at least, the rest not so much), but sub-par choreography makes it look like they just animated after a real mma match without thinking about "how does it look" in the grand scheme of things.
Not even saying it's bad, just that people might prefer one thing over the other.
Oh and by smoothness I don't mean Disney frame rate, I meant how natural the movement felt.
>Compare with >>100422265 (You), which has real-life tier smoothness (during the joint lock at least, the rest not so much), but sub-par choreography makes it look like they just animated after a real mma match without thinking about "how does it look" in the grand scheme of things.

I don't agree. The MH clip has arguably better choreography. I also like the profile view of the scene, the camera is pulled far away for most of the fight, unlike the other clip, which really makes it seem uncanny and gives the fight an uncomfortably brutal mood. Which it's supposed to be.
Now, the Smile scene does some things better, but I mean, it's like a third of the duration and not nearly as well thought out as the MH scene. Maybe if you were comparing the second Reika Joker fight. THAT was some cool shit.
Don't use that word then. There are better terms.
>I also like the profile view of the scene, the camera is pulled far away for most of the fight which really makes it seem uncanny
Yeah uh, that's what I don't like about it, but
I didn't know "naturalness" existed in English, it also sounds horrible. Not my first language etc.
Miyuki is extremely erotic
>as expected of country-grown vegetables!
HC had amazing CQC fights. Mainly with the grunts
And HaCha will bring grunts back!
If I get grunt fights and one ballroom dancing scene (preferably at a royal court), my happiness will be fully charged. Please Toei, make it happen.
All I want is some Lollipop Hiphop breakdancing.
Rival cure dance-offs, with mutual scoffing and sneering.
Ugh, I'm so confused between the dancing and such but they have grunts! It's like you don't have grunts unless you're going to fight them.
Maybe they could introduce Fortune that way.
Hacha fights gonna be awesome.
Base form has fighting as usual. They switch to dance forms, 3D kicks in, they don't fight directly and instead dance for a while to charge the handbrace thingy and do a finisher. This is how I would imagine it works in the show.
You have grunts because you want to show off how strong the heroes are by having them tear through hordes of them!
Do we have anything on the grunts? Theme? Looks?
The grunts will be one-shotted by the CG dance. No fighting will occur.
Continued: They don't fight in dance form because have you seen those dresses? Lovely can barely move her legs wide with that long skirt. Hula dance looks like it will wave her arms a bit and that's all. However, they've shown kicks and action in the NS3 trailer while in the base form, so that's for the traditional action scenes.
I very much doubt they'd use grunts if they weren't going to have them punched and thrown around. MotWs already cover "stand around and get killed by the finisher" just fine.
Seems about right
I'm pretty sure they were in an earlier scan
I guess fights with dance choreography is a bit much to ask (but I can still hope for it in important fights).
>According to a HIGHLY reliable source, there is a trio of bishounen guys (two wearing tuxedos and one mysterious-looking one.)
>The same source has also seen two female characters and two other male characters that seem suspicious-looking (
if they're doing cg fighting, the grunts will probably be the cg part just so they don't have to make a new model for the motw every time
We would avoid that problem of them not showing enough material if they would give us a REAL PV
Makes sense and fits my pessimism perfectly.
Precure never has real PVs
How is this OK? Just because they're grunts?
>trio of bishounen guys (two wearing tuxedos and one mysterious-looking one.)
>The same source has also seen two female characters and two other male characters that seem suspicious-looking
Please be real, I need more bishounen in my little girls anime.
Would they be the villains? Either this or Blue's underling are the only possible roles I can imagine.
They wouldn't mix both styles. It would be just 2D or just 3D, but not at the same time.
>showing mercy to the enemy.
Dancing with the boys while furiously blushing confirmed.
I wonder what kind of training do the actors go through for this kinda thing
Romance? In my Precure?
Yes please please please
> Implying Nozomi would care about killing people she doesn't know.
You didn't cure anyone!
The Sunackies are LITERALLY sand-filled punching bags. I can't be upset at anything that happens to them.
Cure Dream is one of the only Cures I would be truly frightened to face, if I were a Precure bad guy.
I'm ready for some heterolust. I'm sure there'll still be plenty of goggle-worthy material mixed in.
>not believing in Kamen Rider
>Cure Dream is one of the only Cures I would be truly frightened to face, if I were a Precure bad guy.
I guess Moonlight as well. She wouldn't hesitate to kill if she didn't have Tsubomi there to restrain her.
There's no such thing as Kamen Rider. Or Precure. Or the Tooth Fairy. Or Santa Claus.
Ashita no Nadja is so much better than Precure. Why couldn't Toei have made more shows like that instead of this crappy franchise
this is it. I am going to start watching Kamen Rider. What's a good entry level?
>She wouldn't hesitate to kill if she didn't have Tsubomi there to restrain her
>implying Tsubomi can keep her from killing
I don't know. Ace has literally no empathy and an apparent blood lust.
I think that's scarier.
People cite W or Kabuto as a way in. I'd say catch up on Gaim and watch weekly with /m/.
I wish she had those boobs. Absolutely flat mature women look weird and terrible
I agree. It always looked weird on Moonlight and Ace.
Yes that is the problem isn't it?
>implying grunts are people
You...take that back...
While Kuuga is my favorite, I'd actually suggest watching BLACK first.
That pose reminds me of Batman returns when Catwoman gets pushed out of the window
Moonlight doesn't need breasts. She's perfect as is.
Kuuga, W, Kabuto, OOO
Ace fights for her nation and doesn't give a crap about the individual enemies she has to kill.
OH BOY WE NADJA NOW
Hey so, like, screw you man. That had a fine ending that didn't need to continue
And while I'm thinking of Nadja, the CG dancing in it was so goddamn horrible which is my biggest fear. Yeah, that was like 10 years ago but still
Oh boy, this is starting to get pretty hetero maybe
When something looks mysterious, they are usually bad guys
Those are background characters. It's different.
In this picture, Aces are high.
In this picture, Aces are low.
>When something looks mysterious, they are usually bad guys
Nah. Bad guys are most of the time obviously bad. Mysterious characters are ambiguous at first, and then they turn out to be allies, like Tuxedo kamen, the cat boy in Shugo Chara or even cure Moonlight.
Which do you prefer?
The original series is slowly being subbed by KitSubs (there nearly half way) but if you're not really interested in a showa era show then W or catch up on Gaim
>Little girls with slutty makeup
>Heartcatch Precure 2nd ED.gif
>or even cure Moonlight
Was there any doubt about Moonlight in show?
Muse would have been a better example, acted similar to Tuxedo Kamen.
can i have both?
Well, it's the same person, so yes.
RUNNING, SCRAMBLING, FLYING.
ROLLING, TURNING, DIVING.
Her hair looks like a light ginger there. I like that, it looks great.
Torin dies tomorrow
I hope you feel bad for posting that.
Agreed, making Yuri not flat would ruin her elegant beauty.
This thread is making me want Yuri/Ace lesbianism fanart
This is what would happen if the Ojamajos and Precures fought:
"Pirika pirilala poporina peperuto! Make the Precures disappear!"
And then the Precures were vaporized.
Daily reminder that the Cures in Yes and GoGo are separate Cures even though they have the same names.
Take this to Pixiv, look for an artist that likes precure and lesbians.
It'd have to be hatesex; hardass characters rarely get along well.
I also like to think that Moonlight has better taste than that. And by "better taste," I mean Momoka totally has her on lock.
I wonder if Momoka knows Yuri is Cure Moonlight. Moonlight must have saved her from tons of MotWs in the past, since she was obviously the best friend character in Yuri's show which doesn't actually exist.
>in Yuri's show which doesn't actually exist.
Oh no, don't...don't make me want a spinoff I can't have...
She might suspect something, but I doubt she actually knows anything.
Side characters have a way of mysteriously falling unconscious whenever monsters are around.
Being Kamen Precure is suffering.
My hacha hype just drop significantly. Sasuga Toei.
I miss Dark Precure.
We all do.
Want to know what Moonlight, Beat and Passion have in common?
They all say their introduction from the heart. I always tend to watch it again and again.
Post the full plushcure set
Just a reminder to all that there will be male characters and confirmed romantic subplot(s?)
I don't have it.
Google translate is giving me some criptic stuff, and I don't want to misunderstand it too quick.
There's your problem.
Sounds like one of those after-episode "remember this show" corners that Boukenger or Goseiger had
>you will never go out drinking with the dark cures
I've considered taking up knitting.
Do you think Yayoi transforms into cure peace to power her handheld games?
That would be one harrowing night out.
Something something about Cure Black?
I hope so.
> they will never rape you in a drunken slendor
Erika is canonically pure.
> Erika is canonically pure.
That's what she wants you to think.
she'd break it
What are the chances of a Sailor Moon and Precure crossover?
Speaking of which, maybe toei tries to make hacha something different, as with the sailor moon remake they would have two magical girl series running at the same time
About the same as an actual SM remake this year.
Seems like Black will be the first one and they'll do one every week?
> those karaoke subs
It doesn't make sense for either to mix.
>as with the sailor moon remake they would have two magical girl series running at the same time
Which is totally uncharted territory for Toei and not something they've done multiple times before.
Seriously, it's not like it would be a contest. They would air at different times
That's a shame. It looks like old Toei mahou shoujo had crossovers all the time. I suppose Precure does that within it's own franchise, and they haven't really had anything else for the past decade.
Too bad she's a bitch
The SM remake isn't even airing, it's web only.
I thought it was just a web first, tv later deal. How would they not be able to get sailor moon a good tv timeslot?
It's probably done on NicoNico money, so they would want exclusive rights to it.
Why are they so bitchy?
Whenever I see this gif I wonder if he walked it off.
GoGo has a lot of stock footage.
24:45 - 8:40 = 15:55.
In episode 26, which I just watched, there was only 16 minutes of new material.
That jump looks so amazing.
> they will never force you down
> Ako will never ride your cock and call you perverted for coming inside her
> Aguri will never force you to lick her unadulterated juices as she straddles your face
When is the next Precure starting? The one with Ranka as VA?
GoGo has a lot of stock footage.
24:45 - 8:40 = 16:05.
In episode 26, which I just watched, there was only 16 minutes of new material.
But it was a good episode anyway.
Here we go.
> The official HappinessCharge PreCure! Support App will not only let fans take pictures with the Precure girls
This makes me really excited.
February 1st for us who get the sunrise later.
Eh, even if the show sucks, I'm sure I can watch it for the nostalgia value. Even though I only discovered Precure less than a year ago.
good thing there's more good cures than bad ones
Well, now I have a reason to finish the seasons I've got left.
NO. After doki I'll drop precures. It leads to nothing but misery.
> and word spreads on global television news about the Precure girls who fight for humanity. "Precure" becomes a common word throughout the world.
THIS CHARGES MY HAPPINESS
The Doki app already does that though.
Frig, I'm still in the middle of Fresh, I'm not going to finish in time!
Don't worry, they appear weekly. You have extra 15-20 weeks if you do the math.
They're gonna appear in order, aren't they?
Meaning I need to get to FW
I know you how feel.
So far, I'm finished with Smile, Heartcatch and I'm about to finish Suite.
Futari Wa, Yes 5, and Fresh are just half-ish wayys done and I haven't even started on Splash Star.
Just ignore order and try to finish them all before HaCha finishes.
>tfw haven't watched futari wa
I've finished HC, Fresh, Smile, and working through Doki.
Still need to watch the early seasons, as well as suite.
Well, I guess you only have two weeks to finish Futari Wa and Max Heart. And then three weeks for SS, two more for Yes 5/Go Go, and then at least a month for every other season.
It's not really that good
> tfw watching futari ha late
> mfw some of the later series are much better
>The same 33 girls will join the lead characters of HappinessCharge PreCure!
>in the Eiga Precure All Stars New Stage 3: Eien no Tomodachi (Precure the Movie All Stars New Stage 3: Eternal Friends) film on March 14.
It's a bit dissapointing. If they have all the VAs available, then they could do a total crossover season in a way Decade and Gokaiger could only dream of.
It's fun. But it was born aged.
dat cure marine in that phone
A crossover with that many characters would make for a shit series. Dokidoki struggles to manage just 5.
They'd be able to get the VAs, but there is that rumor about the original ones hating one another.
>but there is that rumor about the original ones hating one another.
Is there any detail why?
I can see them doing intro arc->one team a week->final arc at the fortieth anniversary or so.
>mfw I've watched FW, Heartcatch, Smile, Doki, Fresh, Suite, SS and on episode 12 of Yes
I think I'll be fine
So that's what this was about >>100435356
Kinda neat I guess. They didn't need to do it, but it's a nice little extra.
I would love a cure Fourze
I hope they mention bits of trivia.
You'll get a parade of generic cg models and you'll enjoy it.
Can't they mention bits of trivia while parading?
Nagisa, please stop being so disgustingly sexy. I'm having impure thoughts over here.
Did you know? Cure Black's design in the Futari wa Precure is not her original form? It was changed for so and so reasons, show the original drawings.
God damn those that look familar
I must have watched this ages ago.
Those old designs are pretty ugly.
You mean you watched while actually being in the primary target age group?
I just realized that the ten years old little girls who watched FW while it was airing are now 20
I wonder how they feel about this whole Precure thing still airing
I think we discussed this before, but I believe girls don't really regain appreciation for things they enjoyed as kids like men do.
What about Sailor Moon? Hasn't the rerelease of the manga sold really well?
Well, it's been said that their attitude has "matured" a lot faster as they grow.
We're naturally manchildren enjoying costumed Bugmen and cute girls transforming into cute magical girls.
>enjoying costumed Bugmen and cute girls transforming into cute magical girls.
Don't forget grown ups in spandex.
I pity the dead who can no longer know such joys.
I personally do not enjoy grown-ups in spandex all that much. I do enjoy little girls working for magical frogs though.
What If I'm a girl who likes this kind of shit?
It's good that they're going to pander the fuck out of us in the next Rider film.
>Hongo is back
>Taku is back
Don't worry, the actual audience for precure is 4-6 year olds, so they're not even 20 yet.
according to society you are 'open to your inner child'
Then you're an old man inside. The same way we're little girls within, but backwards.
Does it matter? You're still not the target demographic and aren't considered "normal."
Then you're a disgusting fujoshi who only watches as an excuse to make bad porn fanfics. To be fair, it's the same for both Precure and Kamen Rider.
I'd have to marry you, if I were interested in 3D again and you're being serious
Eitherway womanchild seems accurate.
It's just not the same.
but you're not
You'll forget all about it when you grow up, and you'll come back to call us nerds.
What's the matter? Dropped your Tap?
You take that back! Aoki Ume draws Precure doujins.
I have not an ounce of creative talent whatsoever.
I also believe in the sanctity of the original work. I barely even read doujins based on things I enjoy.
I'm already old enough to know better.
Ume confirmed for bro.
See this is what I'm talking about. Every new piece of info for HapCha jumps from "YAY" to "Wha-" to YAY again.
This is on the Yay side by the way
could we get something a little wider?
This wide enough for 'ya?
Best thing ever.
That was acceptably wide.
That was adorable.
49 wasn't enough.
Does anyone release raws for precure before anyone subs them?
Are you new to the Internet?
>Does anyone release raws for precure before anyone subs them?
you're right, I just just check, nyaa.
Echo confirmed for not-cure yet again.
She gets a spot in NS3, that's good enough for a fake Cure.
>Cure Heart's episode
>she brings Regina
Screen cap this post
>M-Mana, I can't appear on camera, I'm not ready!
>It's gonna be fine, you'll see!
>they bring Michiru and Kaoru
Notice how nobody ever posts Splash Stars in Cure form.
