SPACE DANDY THREAD
Let's talk about the last episode
It was pretty decent. As someone who came in with no expectations (unlike most of /a/), I've been having fun. It's still early though
Pretty good, im hungry for ramen now.
It's weird. I'm actually watching this dubbed for the most part. The grammar in Japanese is just too straightforward to do a show this crazy any justice.
god dammit that scene was more moving than it had any right to be.
I haven't had Maruchan ramen in years but I might actually go buy some now. That episode gave me the mad cravings.
I don't know what I expected, but I'm disappointed they didn't touch on their 'death' in the previous episode.
I thought they'd at least handwave by mentioning that warp malfunction right before arriving at the planet undoing time. Or something.
I want there to be at least a semblance of arcing storylines even if it is largely just episodic hijinks in spess.
I ALWAYS have chicken-flavored Maruchan ramen in my house. It's not for weeaboo reasons either. I just love that shit too much to not have it on hand at all times.
This scene caught me off guard so much that i only started laughing seconds later.
Alternate universes, etc. I'm willing to bet that won't be the last time they die this series
Oh really? I don't know if I've ever had that; I always get either seafood (with those terrible freezedried shrimp that I love for some reason) or... blue package, I forget what flavor that was. Will try.
It figures that this would happen right after I moved from downtown where there's a ramen place on every block to semi-boondocks where there's none to be had that doesn't come in a styrofoam cup.
Me too. The episode of Champloo where they did that (shroom zombies) was great, with the totally glossing over it for next ep.
Yeah, since they didn't mention it I also expected them to die each episode which would have been an acceptable alternative. But I really wanted them to do something with it. They get one more chance from me in the next episode to touch on it.
If they don't I'll probably drop.
They're obviously talk about it in the last episode.
The ending confirms the multiverse theory so don't worry.
>mfw it's the same singer of Penguindrum's OPs
Man, I love her voice
I doubt they will but oh well
You're entitled to your opinion, but I personally feel like people are getting waaaaay too worked up about this. Urusei Yatsura and I don't even know how many dozens of shows before this did the exact same thing constantly; even Bebop (Toys in the Attic) and Champloo (Cosmic Collisions) had episodes where the protagonists apparently died only for status quo to be reset by next episode. Going by the logic that Space Dandy takes the comedic elements of Watanabe's previous stuff and turns them up until the dial breaks off, even having it happen in the premiere shouldn't be THAT shocking. Think of it as the written disclaimer at the beginning Champloo: it's a great big "we're not taking this seriously and neither should you".
I want to eat one of those huge ass bowls of ramen
Damn it look so good
Also the fight scenes are really funny, you see that it was the same guy who made Cowboy Bebop
Tell me again why every other anime in existence can't have this kind of animation budget?
Too proud to take gaijin dollar.
Soundtrack fucking when? So glorious
They may die a few more times during the show but I hope they don't do it too frequently.
It's a damn shame. I'm not even that into this show but i'll still keep watching it for the quality alone.
Manga scans posted here:
it's a metrosexual captain harlock why would I watch this shit
That ambient music when they were in the other dimension was so good. I love that kind of music. It really set the mood.
Space trance ambient something, i like it too.
Now that you mention it, those episodes of Champloo and Bebop are probably my least favorite of them all. I guess I could look at it as a positive that Space Dandy got its shittiest episode out the way first.
I liked beef maruchan
Meow da bes.
Chicken is the worst flavor.
