so it has been almost 2 years.
any news on s3 of horizon in the middle of nowhere?
forget about it. it served it purpose boosting the paper bricks selling, there's no reason to do another season
and no one cares anymore, btw.
The closest thing to news right now is volume 7A coming out suspiciously early next month which seems to coincide with one of Dengeki's festivals.
It's probably nothing but it's in our nature at this point to grasp at straws.
No, but we have a translation ongoing now so we are less desperate.
Who cares? Shit show.
Why is he naked?
I've given up hope of a S3, just going to learn runes and read the novels instead.
Why aren't you naked?
Why aren't you?
it sold well, people like it everywhere in the world.
Sunrise could through a bone to the world and just do it.
I know they make good money of original animes but wouldn't a known freanchise be more secure?
entertainment industry is werd.i mean when people want sequels they don't do them, when nobody wants them they do
It's not Sunrise, it's Dengeki and Bandai.
Basically, Dengeki just sees anime as a way to advertise their novels. That's why finished novel series almost never get an adaptation.
He feels like it.
>it served it purpose boosting the paper bricks selling
The sales only rose slightly.
Dengeki probably made more money off the show itself.
just-believe.in everybody. Dengeki/ASCII/Bandai/Sunrise will surely deliver.
It serves as an offering to a god.
No one will deliver anon, give up. It'll be like Rozen Maiden all over again.
Except Rozen Maiden never sold 21k per volume for two cours.
Only if DEEN takes over for S3.
You're holding onto a false hope gentlemen..
>The sales only rose slightly.
The total sales for the series doubled in a single year after the anime came out (though that is including one new volume/2 books that came out while it was airing)
Why? We have js06 working on it now.
i´ll hope with you guys, let's hope together
I'm reading 2-B now. Expect an announcement when I finish.
>22:43, 1 January 2014 Js06 (Talk | contribs) . . (17,289 bytes) (+63) . . (→Owari no Chronicle 2-B)
My Kawakamin withdrawal symptoms are starting to kick in.
I'm patient, I'll wait.
He is with Kamachi stuff now, be patient.
I know, but being patient doesn't help my addiction.
Heavy Object and than Index.
You're going to wait for a while longer.
Oh shit, an Horizon thread, when was the last time we had one? I missed you guys, even if we have nothing to talk about anymore.
>when was the last time we had one?
Two weeks and a day ago.
Last not-DOA thread was probably 18 days ago though.
>even if we have nothing to talk about anymore.
But we do, we've got LN translations now.
It's just that no-one reads them since all the holes haven't been patched up. And also because some parts are a chore to get through.
Waaaait. I usuaally do a search of "Kawakami" on archive and there is a thread every couple of days.
And I doubt volume 1 has much of Js06 work in it anyway.
>It's just that no-one reads them since all the holes haven't been patched up. And also because some parts are a chore to get through.
You can read Owari, but people usually waits until the whole volume is completed for that.
>And I doubt volume 1 has much of Js06 work in it anyway.
It doesn't, which is kind of the problem. Reading from the start to the current point of translation is impossible, which I imagine is kind of a turn off, together with the fact that some parts of V1 read weirdly.
Also, Zeroblade photographed Kawakami's KanColle doujin a while ago:
>I read in an earlier thread that there was interest for scans of HDDD 2, by the way.
>If the HDDD 1 scans were decent enough, I'll try to scan the second once I have a functioning scanner again.
>While I also have HDDD 6 with me from Comiket 85, I don't have 3, 4, and 5 (I have no idea how they all got out so fast) so hopefully someone else will scan those.
>It doesn't, which is kind of the problem. Reading from the start to the current point of translation is impossible, which I imagine is kind of a turn off, together with the fact that some parts of V1 read weirdly.
1A is almost readable now, it need to fix some typos but right now is perfectly understandable.
I`m going through it while commuting and it is quite bad to read, but english is not native for me, so I doubt I should go editing.
Considering overall lack of threads lately, people, what did you expect? It`s january, everything slows down considerably.
>I`m going through it while commuting and it is quite bad to read, but english is not native for me, so I doubt I should go editing.
You should try if you feel confident about it, we got it to the current point doing that. At first was just like some alien gibberish, not just needs editing.
Doujin? Looks like a 20 page synopsis.
The guy can't stop writing.
Also, his art sure improved.
I think Nackbjorn edited some of them the other day.
We had this one too.
> it has been almost 2 years
The problem isn't that it's hard to understand, it's that the translation ruins the prose. Normally, Kawakami's stuff is pretty easy reading (in English), but the constant shifting in tenses and things like that felt pretty exhausting.
Yeah, I was reading the 1A .epub and just felt like doing my part. I'm going to try to edit the rest as I go along, although I'm not a native English speaker and might just fuck it up further.
Still, thanks for making it readable in the first place, Strike Forcer.
It's really been the perfect storm for no Kawakami translations.
The new Heavy Object novel was pretty long (for a normal LN), scans weren't released until just before the new Index novel, real life slowed the the translation to a crawl for a bit, and I also have an Index SS chapter to translate.
Take your time, I got a lot of reading up to do even without Kawakami.
Don't worry, you are a godsend. Take your time.
How are you going with v3 reading?
I've read through Chapter 45, so I'm about halfway through 3-B.
Leaves me enough time to catch up on the typesetting.
Been pretty busy lately as well.
Thanks as always.
So you got already to the extreme DOGEZA battle and french maid army.
What is exactly happening here?
posting my collection of horizon images
I'd say it's a shame, but I guess we have had our fun for a while now.
It seems to be Tenzou running holding Collbrande, his eyes ever hidden.
Please do not image dump pointlessly.
Tenzou fighting Mouri automaton maids in a French forest.
I just started to watch Horizon, and I'm still pretty confused as to what's going on about four episodes in.
this helped me a lot:
It's normal reaction. You've granted permission to use this thing.
Oh wow, thank you Anon-kun.
just-believe.in has some advice, if you scroll down a bit.
He can use Collbrande too?
That`s okay, first run tends to be confusing up to the final fight. Then you kind of get things and oh boy, S2 is wildest ride ever.
if anyone wants me to upload all of the novel covers say it
Hey guys remember that time Lantis released the OST on time?
I didn't really follow what was happening because I didn't have a real-world history reference point.
Season 2 made more sense.
I also made this for myself.
It contains small spoilers of who owns which weapons.
OST 2 was released the day they said. It was even funnier because it was leaked on internet two days before.
Index has the priority, he's working on NT9 right?
And you can't expect him to translate both OWari and Horizon, they hella long.
Speaking of OSTs Tatsuya sure's getting around these days.
2 high profile shows this season and 2 the last or was it 3?
I didn't mind when they released it early.
>And you can't expect him to translate both OWari and Horizon, they hella long.
But he is doing exactly that.
that was not what i ****ing posted
You deserve it.
It happens, just post it again.
it was an excel file screen print
is that not ok here?
He is doing right now, but as I said Horizon is longer than Index+NT, and OnC isn't exactly a short story.
You can't know if he'll feel like translating it in one years.
Not much I can say for Buddy Complex as a show so far other than "As expected of a Sunrise original Mecha" but the OST in episode 2 was quite catching.
I was asleep before watching Sekai Seifuku so I gotta rewatch it before the 2nd episode.
i can't remember if it is ok to curse in a.
i know i can in b.
Mary let him use one half of the sword for the battle.
It's ok anywhere. Be careful with posting nsfw content though.
js06 is the more constant and reliable translator out there though.
I don't see ninjas swinging around huge broadswords but hey, this is Horizon we're talking about.
>I also made this for myself.
>It contains small spoilers of who owns which weapons.
Lurk the fuck more, seriously.
Zeroblade made that a long time ago.
Oh nice, Collbrande got some sentience like other Divine Weapons right? The sword accepted to be wielded by other person if that's the case?
Where the excel version at?
I know that, I know.
In fact I'm happy he is the one translating Horizon, because most of the translators would end up dropping it after two volumes at most.
But better to not count your chickens before they've hatched.
He should translate Nisioisin's novels and a bunch of eroge as well though
wait there is a big spoiler about one character.
if you haven't seen the anime don't see the image.
sorry i totally forgot about that
i think it's safe to assume everyone here watched both seasons.
that's the excel one
what do you see?
Well, there was a guy before that was in episode 4.
I'm not sure if it would ever outright refuse if Mary told it to be wielded by someone, but it does seem to have taken a liking to Tenzou.
Well, with them being fiancees and Collbrande being basically the wedding gift, it makes sense.
The spreadsheet Zerboblade made, and fuck me I can't find it anywhere.
Somehow it's fucking gone from my folder and not on Bitches MF
As if he doesn't do enough stuff already.
I don't remember anyone ever uploading a spreadsheet to my MF.
What the fuck are you doing?
I think he wants the excel file.
what the fuck do you want?
The excel, but not yours, he is asking if someone got Zeroblade's one.
I want you to go back to what ever shithole you came from.
I just love those eyes.
Weird, I was so sure it was there.
Since the tumblr's search function is fucking useless and I'm getting nothing on the archive.
Now I really want to find it.
Ignore the shitposter.
I remember the excel file of the Horizon Callout Chart, not that one.
>bust type XL
Marfa best waifu
Why did Toori take to dressing like a chick, and more importantly why is he so good at it?
>“Testament,” said Dudley with a nod. “H-historically, William Cecil was the queen’s Secretary of State and her good friend, but the stress of being envied and his hard work led him to regularly overeat. He became mocked as England’s representative of obesity. H-his may be an honored position, but the men backed away due to the dishonorable treatment. That is why she, England’s greatest competitive eater, was recommended."
So how was the PSP game, last time i checked the game had just been realeased.
Here it is?
Looks like it.
There's a dengeki announcement in a few months, right?
Time to get my hopes up only to have them shattered again.
>Ella es de la raza Archidemonio humanoide, pero del tipo especifico "Sistema de Inmortalidad" (no muere hasta que se descomponga todo el cuerpo).
Immortal waifu, so perfect.
What is Collbrande ability actually? I think someone said here that the giant slice beam at the end of 2B can only be done in England.
That sounds like a very convenient immortality until you take a look at what she can go up against.
March I think. First part of Horizon Vol7 comes out in Feb.
All Horizon are the best waifus.
Except Toori. Toori is a slut.
It was eeeeeh.
Good music though.
If there is someone, who is not a slut, it is Toori. Waiting ten years for your waifu is not a slutty feat.
How dare you call Toori a slut.
At most he's an exibitionist.
But he's getting it on with Asama and Nate as well as Horizon.
You will have to wait for my reply until we get more definite info on this development. But at least, I doubt it was initiated by Toori.
Even if he didn't initiate it, he's still a slut if he doesn't refuse them.
Can't blame him for wanting to grope girls' tits, but that doesn't help his slut ranking either.
I wish we had something else to discuss.
What would 10ZOs breasts feel like?
We can talk about how the novel is so full of info that I kinda understand that the first four episodes were so hard to follow the first watch.
can anyone explain what the fuck is going on in this show to me? please? I watched both seasons and I still don't get it.
Why are schools in a historical recreation / battle royale where they murder each other? Why do the "grown ups" even allow it? Why did Horizon's dad murder himself? Where did the angels and demons come from?
It has to be fully charged for that attack and it can only be recharged in England.
Outside of England, it's just two flying swords.
Oh, so they fly? Well, I suppose that they are still a pretty fine set of swords.
>Why are schools in a historical recreation / battle royale where they murder each other?
They recreate history to retrace their path to get back to the heavens. Also, as they turned history and conflicts into cards of negotiation, they can control wars and politics so humanity will survive. The Academy system was something they came up when they had to dealt about how to control the Far East while in real history never mentioned nothing about it. Basically, the Academies are the heart of the nations as they represent the government, judiciary and military with their members affiliated to them for life. Only the Far East got the 18 years graduation rule due to historical reasons.
>Why do the "grown ups" even allow it?
The grown ups are on it, they are "students" too.
>Why did Horizon's dad murder himself?
Nobody knows, the whole thing is still in the shadows. You can see it as a Xanatos Gambit to stop the Apocalypse.
>Where did the angels and demons come from?
The different races came from other worlds that humanity found as they developed. It's explained in Owari no Chronicle, another of the author works.
>Why are schools in a historical recreation / battle royale where they murder each other?
The schools are the governing bodies of the nations' due to exploiting a loophole in a peace treaty after a wall, letting the rest of the world rule the Nips.
They're recreating history to recover their lost technology by the way of retracing their steps.
>Why do the "grown ups" even allow it?
The students are only required to be under 18 in the Far East. All other nations have no age limits, and thus the other academies are the adults.
>Why did Horizon's dad murder himself?
To start shit with the Testament Union and free the Musashi to send it on a path to save the world from the Apocalypse in accordance to some secret plan of his.
>Where did the angels and demons come from?
Probably from an earlier era. Several worlds were merged with our own in one of the author's previous works, taking place way before Horizon.
Honestly, all of these except the last one would have been answered if you had just paid more attention. Just read up on the info links at just-believe.in if you've got more questions.
I'm getting pretty sick of anime because of this shit. Almost everything is an incomplete adaption with no ending, just a single "arc"
Are all Horizon girls still best? Because last I checked, which was almost a year ago since I stopped keeping up with the series, they were.
Yes, all Horizons are best Horizons. Even the guys.
It's a bit late to get sick. Anime has always been advertisements for something, be it toys, plastic or another medium
Wow, what a insightful intelligent comment. I totally didn't know Gundam sold plastic models. Just like you apparently don't know that Gundam actually finishes the storyline.
Well, Gundam is anime original.
Just stop watching adaptions and learn moon then.
It's not like Horizon is ever going to end anyway.
This Horizon is all bout hips, even more than breasts.
That Horizon is about /glasses.
Horizon will end. Kawakami ended his other works. I am sure he has it all planned out, he knows where he is going he is just currently filling in the getting there.
He have all of it planned, it was the same with Owari.
So, the Hip Horizon and the Glass Horizon?
I was joking, but you know as well as I that Horizon could go on for another half a decade still.
meant for >>100434577
Well, in 6C they were in July 31 I think. Three or four arcs more, at least.
did Owari end, or is it ongoing?
it ended before horizon began
It ended in 2005.
oh i thought the author made a prequel to horizon.
is it fully translated?
No he wrote it before Horizon, is just in a previous era in the universe timeline.
No, js06 is on it too. He is in 2B right now.
We are getting a lot of dragons lately in Horizon.
Delicious werewolf hips.
Tits are overrated!
should i read owari befori horizon?
>Almost 2 years.
>No sign of S3 at all.
Sunrise are killing me, Why are Studio 8 doing this.
It doesn't matter, they both stand on their own and are separated by millennia chronologically.
You can read both.
What I don`t understand in Vol 1 is all those "there existed a ..." in the beginning of almost every part. Is it really necessary and absolutely cannot be changed to "there stood a tree" or something like it?
Why does he have that and what if Shinjou learns about it.
He has that because he is Shinjousexual.
No, is not.
So can it be changed or not.
Didn't he say the first 3 or 4 books were the prologue?
I'd lick and rub it.
Also, needs the gif version.
Maybe he was going for the scare factor.
I think he should go into serious big books after he finishes Horizon. Certainly he has no problem constructing a narrative worthy of a medium with more pedigree than my little sister is another flavor of a year.
Yes, it can be changed.
Yes, he said at the end of 3C "well, the prologue is over". Given how that volume ends, it makes sense.
>I think he should go into serious big books after he finishes Horizon.
That doesn't sound very Kawakami.
I'm pretty sure he's fine with writing LNs
Yea, he`s just writing normal length books and then has Editor-san read throught them and split into LN-appropriate volumes.
I am sure he is still breaking every standard when it comes to "LN-appropriate volumes".
Can someone spoil me on how exactly Nate defeated Rudolf in 3C? I know it's something related to his painkiller protection not covering pain he causes himself, but how would making the sword inside him vibrate do that?
That aside, I'd like to see all the different weapons and Gods of War animated in S3.
Minimally appropriate then.
Point is, he may be just afraid of the bigger format and things that come with it, like different editorial approach, deadlines, royalties and shit. If you judge by the way content is structured and what themes are used, OnC and Horizon are books, not LNs.
LN isn't a very well defined category anyway. Kawakami already breaks pretty much every definition /a/ tries to apply to it.
We don't know, not many people read it in moon. How was it?
Will you guys drop the fucking pretentious as shit circlejerking already?
They may be good stories, but they're nothing special compared to any other decent LN out there, and their writing is still a whole different beast altogether than most formal, high-level, "non-LN" Japanese fiction.
>If you judge by the way content is structured and what themes are used, OnC and Horizon are books, not LNs.
I think the illustrations, fanservice and referential humour in them is pretty indicative of them being LNs. Not to say that there's a sharp line between LNs and regular novels, but it feels pretty clearly aimed at the LN demographic. You'll have to consider that things like Slayers are LNs too.
Isn`t it defined by the majority of titles published? If you go by that metric, LN is something severely restrained in the range of themes by juvenile characters, simple sentence structures, plots formulaic to the extreme and orientation on quick market turnaround.
Our motherfucker indeed breaks everything, so it`s only natural to consider his stuff belonging to a different category.
Indeed, but I see all that as inserted postfactum rather than pivots on which everything lives or dies.
Did we make you uncomfortable with our little bit of pretentiousness? So sorry.
Yeah, I like Horizon, a lot, but I think you're giving Kawakami too much credit sometimes.
He's good, but he's not God's gift to Japanese literature, for Christ's sake.
*you guys are
I have a feeling you took our conversation the wrong way and got butthurt about nothing.
Aw come on, the thread got a little livelier at least.
Who`s getting that february volume, by the way, and who`s scanning recent manga volume?
WE`LL BE FREEEEEEEEEEEE
The most likely person to provide scans, unless the nips do so again, will be Ivan.
I will be getting 7A of course, but I don't rip and scan.
Last time they did scan two of three volumes I think, but with a big time gap and quality was kind of fuckoff. So let`s hope for Ivan.
But what about the manga?
What is gravity manipulation
It's not that there is actually a way to write "high-level" books, that just depends on the author style.
A LN is something like a pulp novel, but nowadays those are published like normal books and considered as such.
Like the last few episodes of both seasons, full of hectic developments and happening. Except all the important people dropping like flies in face of M.H.R.R/P.A. ODA, but we already know that.
When people die in 3C they usually do in awesome contraptions.
I was talking more about the Rudolph battle.
Oh, it was pretty violent like what people have said. Being a 'deviant' to the core, (shapeshifting, painlessness, apparent regen) it was pretty much impossible to incapacitate him in battle. He set a condition that if Nate is able to make him feel pain before Magdeburg begins, he'll give her the memo containing a clue to the Lost Nobles.
He has a harem of women who tried to kill him before, and transforms into Nate, then Turenne, before revealing his 'final form' during the fight.
The final form was the female form right? That it was super quick or something.
Yes. That was the result of letting his shapeshift go out of control.
Seeing Qing-Takeda's Benkei animated would be sweet as well, as with Toshiie's necromancy.
Well, it's not that it is around that much. It trashed like one chapter after it is deployed.
He spent the majority of season 2 naked.
Rev up your proxy.
This backstory is very, very lewd.
Yes, that's one of the first spoilers we got I think. How many days were at the end?
Everything with Neitomama is lewd.
Specifically, what are these races? And what is the difference between them? I can understand the implications behind a "fallen angel", but what is an "anti-fallen angel"?
As far I know, they types of angels are usually translated as Fallen Angels, Rebel Fallen Angels and Descended Angels.
They come from "Heaven" or so it seems.
They were displaced when heaven, hell and various other worlds and realms were destroyed before the Genesis Era.
Oh, I get that, but what's the difference between them? I'm not too clear why there's a distinction between fallen angels, rebel/anti-fallen angels, and descended angels ...
Descended angels were the usual "goody two-shoes" angel. Compared to the Fallen Angels who were cast down from Heaven by force, these Descended Angels came down voluntarily. Not sure about the Rebel Angels, although they might just be Fallen Angels that are antagonistic towards other Fallen Angels.
Check the wiki.
Rebel Fallen Angels are just a special type of Fallen Angel, or so it seems.
Basically, Descended Angels = Golden Wings, Fallen Angels = Black Wings.
墜天 or Descended Angels are angels who left god because they wanted to live with humans. They have yellow wings.
堕天 or Fallen Angels are angels who rebelled against god. They have black skin and black wings, but there are very few of them so the Anti-Fallen Angels are often simply referred to as Fallen Angels.
匪堕天 or Anti-Fallen Angels have black wings. The Anti at the start of the name might be a reference to 匪天 or Nein Angel which referred to half-angel, half-humans in Kawakami's earlier novel Tune Bust City Hong Kong.
Oh shit, sorry. I read the wiki long ago and didn't find much information on either Malga or Margot's pages, and I didn't think to check "angel" in the search bar. Gonna read up on it now, thanks.
Seeing it like this, probably the last ones are just the result of the Fallen Angels mixing with Descended Angels and humans.
