Togame didn't really mean what she said to shichika when she was dying (the thing about planning on killing him after the collection of swords was done? I prefer it if that was the fact though since it gives the entire series a darker feeling which goes well with the brutalness of the characters. However, it feels like she was just saying it in order to manipulate Schichika to not avenge or grieve her.
Am I way off? What scenario did you prefer?
> mfw trying to have an anime discussion on /a/.
Just don't keep bumping your threads.
She was definitely saying the truth.
And yes, they both loved the heck out of each other but it's true that she was gonna kill him in the end as the final part of the 'process'.
good she's dead
best girl won
She was telling the truth.
congrats, you just grasped lying in anime 101
It's hard to tell. But yeah, she was probably telling the truth. There was a reason why the Maniwani didn't want to work with her.
best swords :
wooden sword and bladeless sword
Most of the Maniwa Corps were also murderous assholes that easily fell to the influence of the swords
She lied, that's why her keikaku eye showed up.
Honestly I think it's pretty funny that armor guy could have probably taken everyone out short of the Moe Moe kyun chick in episode 7.
I deny this.
A random graphic thing the anime added to her that wasn't in the novel for stylization.
Did he deserve it?
If it wasn't in the novel, was there anything in the novel that implied she was lying. Similar to what >>100405011 was sying?
They outright said they had a direct reason for betraying her. It was more or less because she was the type of person to use others as tools and was doing so to avenge her father. Maniwani had other things to worry about, so they took their chances.
Everything she said was literally true.
Did you guys seriously not get how the eye works? You had the whole fucking show to figure it out?
Do you have a harem?
Do small objects float around you?
Now that I don't know. I only heard of the eye not being there from a old friend who mentioned it too me.
From what I remember him explaining they don't really say flat out either way like the anime did it pretty much.
Alright, thats a shame. It would be interesting to know what the author intended. Maybe I should try finding those pages from the novel and reading them. I'm really curious.
Though if you want a real change in the original they never showed the fight with Emonzaemon. The entire thing is anime original.
All i wanted was a happy ending.
Oh really! Is there any other parts that are entirely made up that make a big difference or is the entire ending just made up for the anime?
My heart still feels molested after watching that series. It's like 99% of all characters got killed off.
but the ending is happy
This is why the video-industry (hollywood- shounen anime, most things) sucks.
The audience doesn't want anything but your stereotypical hollywood-movie setup.
>MC is in big trouble
>Everything sorts out
Stop being so goddam american. The stories which DON'T end good tend to be better.
It's pretty direct on to be honest. Biggest thing I remember him telling me about the difference is in the novel is Emonzaemon and him fight but it cuts away at the start and goes to the shogun pissing himself before Shichika walks in the room like he does in the anime.
So the entire "She told me to defend myself but I don't need to obey anymore." Part was anime original.
At least they didn't kill off the other good girls in the series except for Meisai ;_;
>everybody dies, especially the two best girls
>worst girl survives
>katana-kun travels Japan as a vagrant
Depends mostly on the story to be honest. Katanagatari worked good with a bittersweet end. While other works might not.
Cheerio you hag.
why are you trying to force your tastes on others?
you have nobody to talk to or something?
>Hard to tell.
Did you perhaps not SEE that motherfucking snake
Stop this bullshit. Of course he did. Two opposing sides were fighting over swords, how did he NOT see that coming for him?
"I AM A KID SO HE WON'T KILL ME XD"
Everyone who pitites Pengin just loves his "U-uguu. I am t-t-t-t-t-t-t-too weewee-weak f-f-f-f-f-for my own b-b-b-b-body"
Emonzaemon had the best personality in this series, his logic for killing Pengin is flawless.
>>everybody dies, especially the two best girls
Who is the other best girl you're talking about?
>worst girl survives
Seriously though, Hitei character to me needed Togame. Without her, she's kind of eh. She's just there.
Alright well I can see wanting a big "climatic" fight for an anime. At least the ending is accurate then. But damn I need to read the Togame speach in its original to sorts this out.
I for one don't pity him but it was still a brutal death, Jesus Christ.
Gun in the mouth is about as painless a death as you can get.
Yeah, the fight felt a bit unsatisfying though with Emonzaemon just speculating that Pengin's luck would run out eventually. His final moments though? God damn.
Brutal in the sense that it was basically an execution at that point.
I found Pengin's ability to be odd and weak. Emonzaemon way of dealing with him was indeed flawless.
So you both like older women then?
From what I've seen of suicide videos it hurts like shit before you drop.
It was honestly really strong. He was just really young so he hadn't mastered it all that well and Emonzaemon is a top tier fighter so not many people could have figured that one out.
Whoops, I replied to the wrong post >>100404848.
When she was dying, Togame had this snake wrapped around her in the "dream-like" place (her hair in the "real world"). That snake was a PRETTY obvious hint about what was happening. She was speaking as the "Yosha Hime" or as the Original Togame, who schemes, and longs for revenge. At some point during her final words, just at the end, the snake dissapates, and she can finally speak as "Togame". But it's a story about failing, and I think it did so wonderfully.
Hitei was best girl all along.
Hitei hime used this kimono or whatever. Just above her oba, she had two blu "plates" sticking out. What are these for? I've seen them in other anime, but it's not explained what it's for. It LOOKS like it's for holding her oppai up, anyone know what it's for?
Its NisiOisiN. Anything is possible.
Seeing as he got killed by a level 2 bounce bullet, that little ball of him must've hit him sooner or later as well, say, after bouncing around 1000 times.
It is kind of a mix to be honest here. She really would have killed him for her revenge pretty major part of her to shut everything down and do what she has to love and happiness be damned. I've always taken the snake as pretty much being her and how at the end she can rest in peace in death.
He has a bizarre fetish for cutting hair.
Pretty sure he has enough control over them to avoid that. Main reason the gun barrage worked is because it is so many shots bouncing off in random directions adding fuel to the fire.
