How does /a/ feel about the attack on titan? I want them to make more honestly, develop the story a little more.
You'll get a lot
replies, and I agree that it's overrated and the anime is way too decompressed, but there's been worse to come out of 2013.
Yeah, I expected that. I just want to know more about the titans. Would've been cooler that way imo.
/a/ used so suck SnK's cock so much until it got popular with the normalfags. You fucking hipsters do this with every anime ever.
>I just want to know more about the titans.
There's a manga.
this. so much fucking this
It was ok as a mindless action show.
I didn't read the manga because I'm not that interested in the plotline or anything else, so I can't comment on that. The anime suffered from some really bad pacing issues and a lot of things came off as asspulls. I still had fun watching but it's nowhere near as good as some people make it out to be.
The plot also wasn't completely retarded when the anime started airing.
>It was ok as a mindless action show.
I agree fullheartedly
Imho this would have been far better if it was set in a late WW1 era.
But I still like it. I don't watch the anime though, manga only.
there was a fucking many a. don't use that bullshit excuse
No fucking shit, it's what happens to every manga that becomes popular.
Author has story in mind, begins writing, becomes way more popular than he ever imagined (in SnK's case due to the anime), and he switches to milking the series for everything it's worth instead of continuing it in it's original direction.
Maybe because it wasn't complete shit on episode one dumbass.
my bad manga
At first it was interesting. Lots of genuine surprising moments and twists. But then when each character has a serious revelation monologue every episode it gets just a little old.
How do I feel? I feel like what tumblr does to gifs can be legally qualified as rape in several nations.
Coincidentally around the time it aired the plot in the manga had gone full retard and there was a lot of backlash. But the manga threads that sucked so much cock were very small and very infrequent. They also didn't think it was the greatest thing ever, just a fun little story that wasn't as good as it could have been. It was a pretty fun place to be compared to the mess that came about when the whole board got in on it.
SnK caused the biggest influx of newfags since Naruto.
I have better ones, but they're way too big to put on here, and they're some of the better action sequences of the series.
I like bleach more, call me a casual.
Personally, the biggest issue I had with the series were the main characters. Flat shonen stereotypes, for the most part.
Otherwise, I really enjoyed it.
Bert is the colossal titan and Reiner is the armored titan.
thats pretty fucking obvious if you pay attention in the anime anyway
I loved it until everyone was Titans.
I could deal with Eren as a Titan (barely) but when Annie showed up it was an insta-drop.
It's a shame I think that they had to ruin what would have been a great story with teenage gundam-esq shenanigans but I guess that's Japan for you.
At least SnK is hard to cosplay so I won't have to suffer that as much as I do those faggots doing that stupid dance or wearing headbands
very slow plot
three episodes spent on wall
not the best drawing i ever saw, but it's better than i can do, so who am i to critique it.
>/a/ used so suck SnK's cock so much until it got popular with the normalfags.
This is a joke right? Every thread was about how fucking bad the art was.
My main problem with the anime is how they blew the budget real fast and had to make up for it left and right later on and reuses shots several times an episode. I'm not saying all the later episodes were bad, but certain ones in particular are filled to the brim with QUALITY. Just re-watch episode 13, there are several parts that are half rendered and still frames left and right.
considering how popular it got, the all but confirmed s2 will likely not have this issue
Try Code Geass.
naruto fags dont even make it to /a/ most of the time... even the people who talk about naruto on /a/ now wouldn't want to talk to those people
But that's every show ever.
Animators are fully aware of the "three episode rule" and will use the majority of the budget on the first few episodes to get people hooked. After that, it's just about riding off that success and hoping the budget is strong enough for the last 2 episodes.
That's just how the current industry is.
Every thread was about how bad the art was and how stupid it was that Eren got typical battle shounen super powers.
There's already a thread about it. Stay in one thread.
It's garbage marketed towards filth.
All of the high school kids were raving about SnK (and still are.) My Friend's nephew who is basically Kevin Federline loved it and said it was an absolute smash hit among his friends.
I don't think judging the work by it's fan is very useful. I doubt the show was marketed toward "Kevin Federline" clones.
The actual quality of the series is another debate.
It started out great. The main character was a confident boss. The pacing was fast and overall quality was awesome. I was surprised that I was actually enjoying a show as much as I was enjoying this show.
Then it turned to shit. The main character turned into an indecisive shit, the pacing ceased to exist and I stopped enjoying it. I only finished the show because I was hoping the quality would return but it never did and I don't give a fuck if they make any more episodes or not.
This guy speaks truth
The manga art is fucking atrocious, the characters have no development, and the other characters are just there for the sake of getting killed off. The mangaka has an ENTIRE FUCKING MONTH to draw it. Kishimoto draws better than him and he only has like a week to draw with every new chapter he releases. Only reason why my friends like it is because of the people that get killed.
I'm glad my nephew thinks it shit and reads JoJo's Bizarre Adventures.
It became awful once everything became titans.
Same with Youtubers, in a way.
>SnK was the only new anime on netflix in like 3 years
I didn't like it but now I hate it
I get that, but it still doesn't excuse having half rendered shit making it to air.
The anime turned to shit very quickly and the source material wasn't stellar to begin with.
>At least SnK is hard to cosplay
Not really. And enough people cosplay it that BusinessInsider wrote an article on it.
This was true. When the first episode aired, I actually argued against SnK in an image-bump limit thread sucking its cock, and people were lining up to take a swing at me. With a lot of things censord out, I was told that it is not possible to truly have a decent opinion on SnK after only watching the first few episodes. After running from the mountain of green text in the thread and telling /a/ it would change its mind, I watched the rest of the series. After finishing the series, I reversed my opinion and I now like it semi-ironically. The only acceptable way to appreciate Shingeki on Eotania is to recognize it as a work full of symbolism that convincingly weaves a tapestry of human emotion . I apologize for being a pretentious faggot. I still don't think it is possible to objectively like the series if you only see a few episodes.
It's hard to cosplay well.
Not any more than any other series (see pic related). And that doesn't change the fact that people will still be wearing tan bomber jackets and leather skirts instead of ninja headbands, poorly or not.
People who came during Haruhi aren't newfags any more. That was I don't remember how many years ago.
This thread is a perfect example of this. >>100374551 This retard doesn't even know the anime series came from a manga, and I'm willing to bet 90% of SnK fags don't know that. And seriously?
>I want them to make more honestly, develop the story a little more.
I don't even know where to start.
Every anime from IG suffered from QUALITY when it was airing, remember Gargantia and Psycho-Pass? But SnK's episode 13 was a first. At least the BD looks good.
her nose is too small
Maybe she does a better Sasha?
It's ok for the most part
Still can't decide if the titans are a threat or if humanity are colossal idiots
You will never be this piece of bread.
>characters have no development
You can say a lot of shit about the manga but this is retarded.
>What is Erwin
>What is Reiner
>What is Ymir
>What is Annie
>What is Jean
>What is Hysteria
>What is fucking Eren
>What is Armin
Thank you, I've been looking for this.
Let's face it, it's always better to dislike anime. If the anime is shit, you have the correct opinion on it. If the anime is great, you can pretend you're a hipster.
But if you like an anime, and it is shit, you're opinion is shit. And if it becomes popular, you're still shit for being mainstream.
I watched the anime for the last few days. Through all the anime I was thinking:
>Implying Titans already there
>How did they build the wall (so fast)?
>implying it didn't become shit as the series progressed
People always make this argument that /a/ loved SNK until it got popular with normies and then hated it, but it started off strong with the interesting premise and apocalyptic environment that brought out the animalistic side of people that we all posess when in times of intense crisis, but also our ability to care for one another. However, starting with the trost arc and really Eren gaining the ability to transform into a titan it turned into shounenshit, so /a/ understandably stopped liking it.
All anime is shit, I don't see why anyone should somehow have a higher animu palette just because they like one shitty show out of a mass of shitty shows.
I kind of hoped Eren really died and they changed the story to Mikasa beeing MC.
What a fucking lie. There was literally new snk threads every fucking hour or so. Its how i even started reading it was because /a/ was treating this shit like the second coming of god and i ignored it for so long until i finally gave in to the hype. You couldn't have been any more wrong. Its only until it got an anime announced that /a/ started hating it.
I hate it mostly because there were shit ton of mysteries, unknown motivations etc. And after seeing it through I don't know shit.
I don't know why, how or anything about an antagonist. Also most characters were painfully generic with the Mikasa beeing worst of all.
So I didn't care about protagonist nor antagonist. I guess the 3d gear stuff was nice and the world looks neat.
Long story short, it's shit.
The titans collectively serve as the antagonists.
Moreover, the driving question ("Just WTF are titans?") is not meant to be answered in a jiffy. It makes sense, since they had very little opportunities to study the titans. So in a sense, it mirrors how scientific knowledge expands IRL: we solve a puzzle little by little, sometimes with disastrous consequences.
It's not like the story is finished anyway.
You can like it, just not claim it's good.
The thing is, it's like all shounen.
Bleach is popular because it's retarded and people know it.
Titan just transitioned from being interesting to being retardedly fun.
It's not a brilliant series, it's enjoyable. It gets a lot of hate because it became flavor of the month in 2013. The anime accelerated this hate cause the anime had even worse pacing than the manga.
