One Volume remaining until this guy die
...Or not die.
I, for one, would not mind if he stays alive and the entire rest of the story get changed to reflect that. It can't possibly be worse.
>SAO then: Blatant male otaku wish-fulfillment
>SAO now: Fujoshit
>Not putting him in Kirito's harem
Why is the author so stupid?
Goddamn Eugeo looks baller as fuck in that armor.
>...Or not die.
>I, for one, would not mind if he stays alive and the entire rest of the story get changed to reflect that.
Him living would be far more interesting than him not living. It'd mean resumed/destined childhood-friend trio (though all three don't remember), a subgroup where Kirito isn't automatically the most important member, and more interactions available for future arcs.
I mean, how great would it be to have a post-arc cooldown volume that takes place entirely in ALO, alternating between guys' night out adventuring / girls' night out adventuring groups? Kirito-Eugeo-Klein-Agil running around on one side, Asuna-Alice-Sinon-Liz-Leafa-Silica on the other, hilarity ensues?
Damn. Such good character designs wasted on this shitty series. Fine, I'll watch it, only to bitch about it, and I won't like it.
Don't worry; with an attitude like that, you'll fit right in on /a/'s SAO threads.
I still feel that even if Eugeo doesn't die here, he's still not going to survive the arc. Well, him or Alice - take your pick.
>Kirito-Eugeo-Klein-Agil running around on one side
W-What about Recon?
'Sup Gawain, still trash talking I see.
Lets hope not.
Otherwise Kirito will go into a trauma coma, and wake up months later a fucking literal god.
>implying that won't happen regardless
Can't I have SOME kind of hope in Reki's current level of writing?
>>Kirito-Eugeo-Klein-Agil running around on one side
>W-What about Recon?
If he's open to fill out the group, sure. I'm pretty sure that got mentioned somewhere in the books (maybe Caliber?) - they grab whoever is available, and sometimes Recon's with them. Sometimes the government guy is with them. Agil always has to work late. Klein sometimes has to work late.
You're going to get Star King Kirito and Staciagoddess Asuna, and you're going to like it.
Seeing how Kawahara changed tons of stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if Eugeo lives.
>making changes to threaten Kirito's harem
I wouldn't bet on it.
I want to scream at you, and hit you, until I feel better for shooting down my hopes that Reki has learned his lesson.
But I can't. So I'll settle for writing this post.
A1 is going to fuck up mothers rosario, arent they ;_;
Most people here don't read the LNs and have no idea what you're talking about.
Eugeo will end up with Alice.
There I said it, Alice won't become a permanent member of Kirito's harem.
>implying Eugeo won't live
>implying both of them won't end up in Kirito's harem
I imagine so.
One thing they might do is cut out a lot of important scenes, just because they don't feel like including it (All of Argo in Episode 2, and removing Asuna's actual development through-out the series)
I've lowered my expectations to "At least remove the goddamn spaceships". The key to happiness is low expectations, anon.
I'm fully expecting them to cut out most of the real-world segments, as well as cut out the framing of the story with Asuna's bitchy mother entirely. As above, experience has taught us to have abysmal expectations of this next season.
>They remove all reference to Sinon's trauma, and give her no reason to be how she is.
Next volume when?
Don't forget the obligatory animation error with the Hecate showing an aiming line before the first shot.
>expectations of A-1's SAO staff
How low can it go?
Every thread needs this
>“Heart rate is dropping!”
>“Start chest compressions!”
>“No… no… Kirito-kun… not something like this…”
>Kirito-kun, it’s a lie, right? You aren’t going to leave me, right? You said we’ll be together forever…… didn’t you say that?
>The pink heart displayed on the monitor throbbed slightly once, before it stopped pulsing.
Probably in April.
>SAO Volume 13 in August
>AW Volume 15 in October
>SAOP Volume 2 in December
>AW Volume 16 for Feburary
>SAO Volume 15 for April (probably)
The author releases every other month, so yeah. But there's apparently word out that the next release will be in the summer, sooo....
I hope the anime version of Phantom Bullet will have the end of BoB to follow the web novel version instead of the LN version.
More than likely though, we are getting Mother's Rosario with the Yuuki x Kirito fight on screen. Hopefully.
Power of soft won't allow that
>animating Kirito's crushing defeat
Why doesn't Reki just have Kirito narrate the whole god damn story? When Kirito's narrating we actually get his thoughts, what he's feeling, seeing, how he perceives others, everything. It gives him and the other characters more depth and is a much more interesting read.
Then when Reki uses his shitty third person narration we just get a shit ton of useless and horribly written exposition, the dialogue is super stiff, and the characters are flat as a Kugyuu tsundere's chest.
Please? Will be almost as good as him getting trampled buy that raiding guild while blocking the entrance to the boss's room with Klein.
Love you too~
Ah yes. Can't forget those mundane errors that could have been fixed if someone watched the episode before releasing it. (Or if someone checked the drawing of a character before inserting it into a shot)
This is the Ending SAO2 deserves. But not the one it'll probably get.
Unlikely. This is an adaption of the LN, after all.
>Lisbeth didn't get half-naked, and slide into Kirito's sleeping-bag.
Oh well. Can't be helped.
>Lisbeth didn't get half-naked, and slide into Kirito's sleeping-bag.
As ridiculous as that sounded, it was a lot more logical. Why would Kirito have two sleeping bags?
Can someone sparknote this for me.
Who is he, why is he bad, and why is he so strong?
Kirito's GGO avatar will still have the same voice actor without him trying to make a girl's voice.
Also, he will be drawn like a boy with long hair as apposed to how it should be.
Hes the first person Kirito meets in the underworld
He was brainwashed into an integraty knight by administrator
Because Kirito and him have been training with eachother for the last 2 years + hax gear.
Doesn't something like that require double billing for Kirito's VA? It'd be good prose-wise, but budget-wise, you'd be banking your adaptation on how well the MC can multi-role.
> Why would Kirito have two sleeping bags?
I also thought about that.
If i were a solo player, I would only bring what i need because fuck the inventory and weight limit.
This. His face looks like his own face in the Anime preview image, even though the LN shows he's much more girly.
They fucked up before the anime even started.
I haven't read them but there you don't need a 1st person narrator to have all of that stuff.
They fucked up
Well, despite normally being a solo player, I'm pretty sure he partied a lot. We know that on the earlier floors he partied a lot with Asuna (unless that's some alternate universe, as some fans are apparently speculating)
Thats progressive. So Reki is rewriting SAO's floors from the ground up.
Its fucking fantastic.
I want more animated Argo
I'm talking about the LN not the anime.
I know it's not necessary, but Reki sucks so much dick at third person narration, while his first person narration is far superior.
I'm only midway through Alicization Running right now, but there's a whole section where there is some observer watching Kirito and Eugeo, and we keep getting all this IT thought this and IT wanted to do this shit. Also, his descriptions of things are lacking when compared to his narration as Kirito.
Well, so far nothing really contradicts previously established facts, other than retconning a few numbers. We never knew how Asuna's and Kirito's relationship was in the earlier floors, so it's not like them partying for a few floors is against previous canon. Heck, Volume 10 even makes a reference to Concerto.
Yet I've seen fans argue that Progressive is in a completely different universe of it's own, despite no real proof.
How is the Progressive novel?
>I want more animated Argo
Go read the scanlations of the Progressive manga too while you're at it. Tons more Argo so far, right from the start. And Asuna's issues mentioned in Mother's Rosario are in the manga right from the start too.
It's no translations ever.
Far superior than the original LN
It's pretty translations never.
But it's pretty much most of what sucked about arc 1 done right. Why won't you pick this up, Yen Press? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. (Oh, and toss a bone to the poor AWfags, too, and give them a release date.)
According to the LN's first volume, they didnt really meat at all casually, except at floor bosses that Kirito participated in, until floor 74 or something.
Is it because he has editors now?
Yea, i caught up with that last week, was a great read.
His editors gave us big-breasted Sugu
I think it's just that he actually has experience now.
Was this actually stated? Because there are side-stories that already disprove that notion. ("Murder Case" and "Cold hand, Warm heart" are examples that come to mind)
Praise the editor.
I think it was stated and then retconed with the side stories.
Accel has a release date on Amazon.
Yen Press is too busy picking up the SAO manga, but not the 4koma, to pick up Progressive.
> big-breasted Sugu
And i hate them for that, even moreso in the fucking anime.
>>SAO then: Blatant male otaku wish-fulfillment
>>SAO now: Fujoshit
wait, what? was the author trying to balance out the cast or something?
I hate them too. Why no flat sugu?
Well, if it was retconned before hand, then it's still within possibility that Progressive is within the universe of the normal LNs (With a few retcons)
Kirito just has a trubro now. And less contact with females in an attempt to be faithful to Asuna.
Oh. Finally, then.
>pick up SAO manga
>don't pick up 4koma
>don't pick up Progressive
>don't pick up Progressive manga (fair enough, only 4 chapters out)
Dammit, Yen Press.
It was never explicitly stated, but the feeling of volume 1 was definitely that they didn't really meet until that nap 6 months prior to the events of volume 1 (which was subsequently expanded upon in Murder Case).
Well the current theory (or at least mine,) is that they partied together for several floors, and split up some time before the 25th floor. I would imagine they had a conflict in ideals, and figured it was better to part. Some kind of falling out or something.
But that's just a guess.
>It was never explicitly stated, but the feeling of volume 1 was definitely that they didn't really meet until that nap 6 months prior to the events of volume 1 (which was subsequently expanded upon in Murder Case).
Mm. Book 1 in total isolation was: they knew of each other through bossfight stuff, but no social calls until the nap incident.
Fuck Yen Press
>Well the current theory (or at least mine,) is that they partied together for several floors, and split up some time before the 25th floor. I would imagine they had a conflict in ideals, and figured it was better to part. Some kind of falling out or something.
Close. If you piece together everything already known so far: Thinker founds a megaguild devoted to safely training the masses to be able to beat the game without dying, and also taking care of the people who don't want to leave the starting city. They're the dominant political force from one of the early levels up to level 25. Which was when they found out every 25th floor boss is extra hard, by way of wiping.
Heathcliff shows up with KoB, scouts Asuna, and leads a successful second attempt at the boss. From there on KoB is one of the lead guilds and Asuna is ultrapopular and unapproachable.
I don't imagine that they really had much of a falling out, but I also don't imagine that they partied together for 25 floors. Maybe they just had their own things to do.
As an irrelevant aside, while flipping through The Day Before to look for details on their early levels together, I noticed that they sold their items in the newspaper in order to get money for their house. Does that mean that SAO had no auction house?
Ah, no. Thinker's guild wasn't the Army.
That was Kibaou's guild, (Aincrad Liberation Squad is the assumed name, as Vol2 Progressive abbriviates it as ALS)
After the wipe-out, they go back to the first floor, and merge with Thinker's guild. (This was explained in The Day Before)
Well, "Falling out," would be the worst-case scenario. More likely they split up after the 9th/10th floor, when they finished the Campaign Quest that started on SAOP 2.
>Heathcliff shows up with KoB, scouts Asuna, and leads a successful second attempt at the boss.
Not quite. Kibaou led the ALS (Aincrad Liberation Squad), which was the pre-eminent Clearer force in the early game. They got crushed on the 25th floor but with the help of the other Clearers, they managed to take down the boss. Heathcliff scouted Asuna to be one of the KoB's founding members afterwards, and they didn't make their debut until the 26th floor.
Meanwhile-ah, fuck it. >>100390214 got there first. The shattered remnants of ALS + MMO Today = ALF with Thinker in at least nominal control of the entire thing at the end.
What's the highest floor when Kirito joins the Black Cats?
Gah, I got the leaders mixed up, right, sorry.
But the general idea is that Asuna's *definitely* not hanging out with Kirito from when she joins KoB up to the 50-somethingth floor.
I guess drifting slowly apart starting at the 9th/10th floor also works. They're gradually getting closer now, so there has to be a reason she went with Heathcliff and stopped caring about Kirito for a while.
What comes to mind is that since he's running on his beta tester knowledge that whole time, maybe she comes to think that he's treating it too much like a game? Because she's ultra driven to escape, that's one of the few things that would really turn her off. And it has a nice symmetry with when her opinion of him changes later.
Come to think of it, the published-but-untranslated bits might also tie in to why she's so dismissive of NPCs later.
Actually, double checking.
>Some time in February, Floor 26 was cleared.
>Kirito joins Black Cats on April 8th.
>May 9, Floor 28 cleared.
So most likely they were on the 27th floor, but possible they were on the 28th.
They take 3 months to clear 2 floors?
>the published-but-untranslated bits might also tie in to why she's so dismissive of NPCs later.
It's much more likely that the reason is what's known so far - she's an important person with an important role. She has no time for >whiteknighting NPCs when she's planning strategy and there are player lives at stake. And she's never been as big on MUH IMMERSION as Kirito.
Where'd you get those dates from? In general, the Clearers sped through the early floors. Floor 22, for example, took a whole 3 days. Floor 75 took a long time, and that was just two and a half weeks.
Yeah, seems so.
Got them from the SAO wiki.
>Some time in February, Floor 26 was cleared.
From The Day Before Part 2
>Kirito joins Black Cats on April 8th.
>May 9, Floor 28 cleared.
Weekly Argo newspaper in Episode 3
They should have slowed down for a while after floor 25.
I am sad that it will take forever for translations to get to this part.
I hate it.
What part is this?
I'm surprised. So if you start the thread with actual LN discussion, it will turn fine.
I thought it was obvious that the shitposters are animeonlyfags.
Even SAO fans hate how the anime turned out (Except those Anime-only fans...) Even if most became a fan to begin with because of the anime.
>What part is this?
Somewhere in Progressive book 2.
>I'm surprised. So if you start the thread with actual LN discussion, it will turn fine.
None of the trolls know who Eugeo is yet.
We learned with season 1 that the secret was to talk about material one season ahead. Remember all those relatively peaceful threads we had with Sinon as the OP pic? Well, now we gotta use Eugeo, Alice, & co.
The part where Kirito and Asuna break a quest on floor 3.
This mean people who read has more brain than those who don't.
>break a quest on floor 3.
Do they actually break it? With only that small snippet to go off from, isn't it more logical to assume that the quest changed from the beta?
I heard that Kirito had taken that quest hundreds of times before, in the Beta. And now the NPC is some how starting to remember all those times, where he tried to keep her from dying.
>The part where Kirito and Asuna break a quest on floor 3.
>inb4 log horizon
Or that. But that's a little less fun.
>Her agate eyes was full of surprise and doubt, the expression in her eyes seemed as though it was asking me, "What am I supposed to do now?".
God, I hope not. I do wonder how they act, though, given that Asuna looks so peeved.
So is there any reason why there aren't any translators for the LNs anymore?
Well that's what people said, based on the Chinese translations.
>Chinese Translator (RKL) translated Volume 13 1 week after receiving scans.
>RKL translated Concerto before it was released.
I guess it could help Kirito's "NPCs are more than object" thinking.
Certainly isn't helping with Asuna opposing view though.
Is Tap still translating and just waiting for new material since he doesn't want to do Progressive or has he quit because it was picked up also?
>Well that's what people said, based on the Chinese translations.
>>Chinese Translator (RKL) translated Volume 13 1 week after receiving scans.
>>RKL translated Concerto before it was released.
In the grim darkness of 2014, the quickest way to read Japanese media is to learn Chinese.
Probably only brought up around Kirito, and not Asuna?
Not translating Progressive. Says he'll continue to translate the main series until YenPress asks him to stop.
Granted, Concerto was available on Reki's site up until a month before the book's release.
>Is Tap still translating and just waiting for new material
Yes. As far as I've seen from his own posts, he's not dropping SAO unless they explicitly tell him to.
He sure looks handsome.
So, any logical reason why he turned those two Shotas into Lolis?
Increasing the size of his harem?
>Tried to Poison him and Eugeo
>Dragged them up several stairs
>Planned to decapitate them in front of their superiors.
>skimming through the Chinese translation of WEB version of Concerto
>apparently, there are some quests that are instanced
For whatever reason, I cannot find the translation of Progressive 2. My lightnovel.cn-fu is failing me. Care to help me out? (Or was the web version what you were talking about?)
To my knowledge, the Web and SAOP 2 have almost no differences, aside from term changes (Dark Elf Sentry -> Dark Elven Royal Guard)
Not sure about the Chinese doing SAOP2 though, considering the minute differences.
Sooo, agreed that NPC is best girl?
Doesn't seem like there are any dark elves in ALO, huh.
Spriggans are dark-skinned fairies. They might as well be dark elves.
She would make a great rape material
>implying that changes anything
Agil is dark.
Or is that too dark for you? Or too much penis?
>implying this fine African-American specimen is anything but perfect
This reminds me: We don't actually know Klein's name, right? Wait-
How sad. His name only appears in author interviews.
Reki says his name might change in the published version (That was his name according to the Web, seeing as that interview/Q&A was from the days of the Web Novel)
