Why is yellow the best magical girl color in general?
Urara > Yayoi > Alice > Buki > Ako.
Yayoi > Itsuki > Buki > Ako > Urara > Alice
Alice > Urara > Itsuki > Ako > Yayoi > Buki
I miss Candy
Ako > Alice > Yayoi > Buki > Itsuki > Urara
Yayoi is adorable
And in general, Yellows are the best.
Honestly I feel like Yayoi got a little shafted.
She had an episode where she could have kicked ass in a giant robot, only for the Smile who is almost as competent as average precures from other seasons to take the spotlight.
But yellow is a powerhouse
Pls study your sentai
Don't lose your head.
I've figured it out. How both of the last two seasons could have been improved dramatically.
Just take Ace out of Doki and put her in Smile. Same bootcamp routine, except the Smiles actually needed it. It was kind of out of place since the Dokis were already the most competent team from the beginning.
cause you like the color of sluts
That's a beyond horrible idea that would've ruined Smile. And Doki got better with Ace overall.
How to improve Smile: Give it a story.
How to improve Doki: Give it humor.
Smile didn't need a story and Doki had some nice comedy.
How to improve Doki: Don't forget characters halfway and them make them come back with some bullshit excuse.
>Since the Dokis were already the most competent team from the beginning.
>Rosetta's shield always breaking
>Sparkle sword never working
>Rikka not existing
Yeah no, it was just Mana being the most competent pink.
Smile made me lose interest out of not having a story. I can't remember the last time I laughed watching Doki even though I like it.
You just have shit taste then
Better than not having taste at all.
Rosetta's is the only one that got addressed really. The other issues Ace brought up were morale, motivational, and logistical issues. Issues that the smiles actually had. Dokis only failed at combat.
What if Precure's henshin were shorter but more common?
What if Precure started doing two episode arcs more often?
>What if Precure's henshin were shorter but more common?
They are already more than once per episode. Whats the point in doing that more?
That would've ruined Smiles light atmosphere.
Something that didn't need to be changed. If you wanted it to be a completely different show you can watch something else.
An addition like Ace would've been awful. Those issues you brought up don't matter for the type of show Smile is and the morale and motivational one is bs anyways.
Truly the boldest of Precure seasons.
Smiles light atmosphere was ruined by the lightness just not being good. I've seen lighthearted shows with no tension and drama be good. Hidamari Sketch is an example. Aria is an example. Smile is not.
You can't see well there but she has a white dress more than just the leaves.
>Why is yellow the MOST USELESS magical girl color in general?
fixed that for you
Well let's see. I love Hidamari Sketch. I love Aria. And I love Smile. And all three are quite good as is their light-hearted atmosphere.
So you just have shitty taste in Precure.
> drama in my fluffy magical girl show
A white dress that could be mistaken for her having a very slight tan.
Regardless it looks like she's wearing nothing but that leaf bra.
>Smiles light atmosphere was ruined by the lightness just not being good.
I'm up to episode 10 so far (Akane runs the shop), so I shouldn't judge the series as a whole yet, but so far it's been great.
>watching the beginning
oh it's great, best precure ever
>watching the middle
nah, it's not that good, but not bad either
>watching towards the end
why am I still watching this shit?
Every precure season since hc
Late smile had some of the best episodes.
No one thought Suite's beginning was that good.
Maybe you should stop watching things you don't enjoy.
Don't expect it to go anywhere
Smile is lighthearted silliness
Except when joker shows up to fuck with the cures.
I loved it.
I've posted and seen this so much, I can basically type the url from memory
Is that it?
Who's the blue rider with cooling fins on his face?
That's because Ace ruins everything.
Looks like Diend, another Decade rider
I want to voice a Kamen Rider Belt. Screeching attack names for money seems like it wouldn't be such a bad job.
The sound and mechanics of the Decors+Smile pact remind me of Gaim.
Doesn't sound like you could make a living off that.
I want to be one of the stuntmen in the suits. Now that would be a cool job. Too bad I'm a baka gaijin.
Aguri > Setsuna > Nao > Komachi
Poor reds and greens, having to be grouped together
First of all, you forgot two reds.
Second of all, that shit taste, holy shit.
Candy is shit. SHIIIIIITTT
I forgot no reds. They're oranges.
Saki > Akane > Nagisa > Rin
Why do you post that anyway?
Not only are you full of bullshit, you're also colorblind.
>Actually thinks there are orange cures
Oh, I see, you're retarded.
Samefag, and a massively retarded one too.
You're beyond retarded.
Akane a cute.
I'm not sure why I first posted it, but someone else reposted it, then I reposted it, and now it gets in every thread.
Before New Year, there was some discussion involving Riders (and specifically Decade) and that scene was vaguely mentioned. As a reply, someone posted a .sfw of the scene, which 404'd within hours. Later the next day, someone postead that Youtube version.
I first linked the SWF, someone linked the youtube, and the rest is, as they say, history
you can be the next Ramirez
Thenly seasons that seems to fit that formula are FW, HC, and maybe Fresh. All that had their best episodes in the first half and get worse in the second half. The decrease is the least for Fresh though.
>2 days and one hour before the next Doki Doki episode
The wait is agonizing.
We need Cures crazy enough to teleport into final bosses to blast his heart directly with love more frequently.
Who is the best dokidoki? and why is it rikka?
I just love all of the Doki Doki Cures. Even Sword has her charm.
However, if I had to pick one, it would be Ange.
It's just good episode after good episode!
DENSETSU NO SENSHI!
I want to fuck the smiles while they are that small
They could crawl inside your uretha.
Urethral sounding is pretty hot.
That's the best part.
Actually, second best. The best part is when I cum, and the smiles get to go semen-surfing.
Subs for the previous one where?
I want to watch Mana physically rip and tear her way through BK's chest and expose his heart, then hug it.
If it were up to me, I'd just smashed them and summoned the Akanbe later.
Everyone is dumb: the series.
Bad guys in children shows don't tend to be the best strategists.
Here's one the Doremi translator posted.
He said he made a mistake at line 21, but I forgot what the correction was
Something about the psyche actually being withered.
On the contrary. She came up with a strategy when all she needed to do was just squash them with her giant nose.
But that wouldn't've been fair.
If I were her I'd put them in a jar and keep them as pets.
She's just kind at heart.
And fuck you. We get that you're very mature, thanks for your impact.
Also yellow is best color for me because I love them lolis cute and small, and they almost always fit that the most, even Buki is the smallest in the group.
Hence the example for "almost". She also happens to be my least favorite yellow.
Don't misunderstand me, I like her and she IS pretty cool (at least until her power gets somewhat irrelevant later), but still.
>Insert the happiness! Cure Lovely!
Charge the happiness! Cure Princess!
W-what? Charge /the/ happiness? That's what you're going with? That doesn't just sound bad, it's not what it means.
I would charge Happy, if you know what I mean.
Are you that repulsed by Happy that you'd actually have her pay you to fuck her?
You heartless bastard.
I liked their old attacks better.
Sorry Happy, I worded it wrong.
I would charge you up.
I would discharge my happiness inside Rosetta, if you know what I mean.
I'd happily consume her discharge, if you know what I mean.
The first time I saw Rainbow Healing, I wasn't sure what was going on. I mean, the attack is called "healing", so I thought it would have given the Precure back their power, but then nothing really happened and the Akanbe died...????
Screen turned white, Akanbe died. It was pretty boring. I hope they replace it soon or don't use it every episode from now on.
They're called Pretty Cures, but they don't go around curing people of their prettyness.
What I'm saying is, don't pay much attention to attack names.
I don't think it works the same, but the FW's had a healing attack as well. I think it's a throwback to that.
What about Rainbow Therapy?
Is this the best time to witness Super Hero Time in all of it's glory
>Desserts and Fashion for the main theme of HappinessCharge Precure
>Kamen Rider Gaim for the remainder of the year
>Train Sentai soon
>Kamen Rider Taisen with ACTUAL returning Showa Actors to henshin
>Kyoryuger vs Go-Buster: The Great Dinosaur Battle soon
I can't contain my hype, /pc/.
Oh and by the way.
Probably better to switch it around.
"Happiness charge! Cure Princess!"
Editor still MIA, so keep on posting corrections/opinions/comments.
is that some Hongo?
>>Kamen Rider Taisen with ACTUAL returning Showa Actors to henshin
Is that the real Segata Sanshiro? Holy shit. It's a good time to be a fan of chinese super heroes.
>Good question. I know one voice actress from Keroro died a few years ago but I never saw how they did the transition with her replacement, I'm curious now.
It was Fuyuki's VA. He's pretty much the main human protagonist, so, yeah, it's a pretty big role. Anyway, there pretty much wasn't any special transition. Fuyuki just suddenly had a different VA in an episode. To be fair, she did a very good impression. Most people don't even seem to comment on the voice actress change if they don't know about it.
Fuyuki's original VA actually stepped away from the show before dying, and then was replaced by a VA indicated by herself. The script didn't acknowledge any change at all.
After "retiring" from the tv show, she still voiced Fuyuki in a movie before her death (after his VA had already changed in the tv show).
Personally, I don't think Toei would handle a situation like that very differently. They had no problems recasting other shows (like Saint Seiya).
>It's a good time to be a fan of chinese super heroes.
If that’s true then where’s my high budget Journey To The West anime?
This is all thanks to Decade!
>Diamonds cannot be hurt!
That sounds off since diamonds are inanimate. What about broken or shattered?
Diamond os not crash?
Rikka with Crazy Diamond, now I would love to see that.
I might skip buying TokyOh for now, gonna wait till it hits the secondary market in Asia. That would probably cost like $30 from Japan after the show ends or if the show doesn't live up to the hype. Also I don't want to get the first wave of the toys only to find that it has a faulty pegs and connectors like what happened to Kyoryuzin.
>Train Sentai soon
How? It looks like absolute crap.
>It looks like absolute crap
>1st episode hasn't aired
Diamonds shatter easily, actually. You can't cut them or blemish them without another diamond though.
I'd suggest "You can't blemish/scuff/chafe a diamond!"
Looks, as in, visually. Not the guy you're responding to, but I think the suits and mech look horrendous. That's probably what he meant.
Yep. (that guy)
It might be a decent watch, but boy does it look bad.
Those are pretty awkward. Maybe "scratch".
Reina is misspelled as Rena.
That's accurate, but it sounds weak in the context of trying to sound cool, which is what Rikka was trying to do
You can't even scratch me.
But then you don't have the diamond reference.
There's always "Diamonds are unscratchable!"
Gives it a different ring, I guess.
You may as well change it to Diamond is not crash
Diamond is crash, Diamond is not scratch.
So I just watched Smile 35.
Best episode in Smile or best episode?
"You can't scratch a diamond!"?
Watched it a few days ago myself. It was an awesome episode. Dat gattai Akanbe.
What about "Scar"?
You can't scar a diamond?
Man, going from perhaps the blandest/ripoffiest episode that is 34 to an ep where I couldn't stop smiling from start to finish.
Episode 38 is the best Smile episode.
34 was probably one of my least liked Smile episodes, though it wasn't that bad either I guess. Actually, the few episodes before 35 were all pretty great aside from 34.
The whole phrase is "Happiness Chunyuu, Shiawase Charge! HappinessCharge Precure!"
The wordplay sounds good in Japanese, but it's completely lost in English alone. I guess a synonym play is better in this case.
brainstorm for Lovely after breaking a thesaurus and having no shame:
Happiness booster! Cure Lovely!
Boost of Happiness! Cure Lovely!
Your dose of Happiness! Cure Lovely!
Happiness Inflow! Cure Lovely!
Charged with delight, Cure Princess!
Your Charge of joy, Cure Princess!
Jolly and Charged, Cure Princess!
Blissful Charge, Cure Princess!
Since they just repeat their catchphrase for the ending call, switching them a bit could avoid redundancy. The whole call could be like this
Your dose of Happiness! Cure Lovely!
Your Charge of joy, Cure Princess!
Happiness booster, charged with delight! HappinessCharge Precure!
Honestly I don't even know how to feel about that.
My issue with ep 34 is twofold
1: just leave the dude alone
2: I've seen Heartcatch
>Honestly I don't even know how to feel about that.
What's wrong with it, cutest filler ever.
I love every Smile episode.
In fact, everything is so great I could leave them all in repeat mode all day.
I¡d try to keep "happiness" and "charge" always as first and second word, respectively, whenever they appear
That and avoiding changing "charge".
Thus, delight charge rather than charged with delight.
I still can't get over how Aesir switched around the Smile calls for no reason.
This works the best, I think.
Very cool ideas here - thanks.
I see, it makes sense to keep the first and second word. I changed them because the wordplay was lost in translation, so I tried something that sounded good on its own.
I like you.
Why not "Diamond is unbreakable"?
I can't wait until Doki is over
But you can break them into pieces.
I guess indestructible is the coolest sounding word, but then we start getting liberal.
What is it with Jojofags and Precure?
We might as well tell Ladholyman to make Rikka say "Diamond is the hardest metal known to man" at this point.
>not Diamond is a 10 on Moh's scale, fag
that's more Rikka
I want to fuck the smiles while they are that large
It's pretty much the same show. The similarities are too many to effectively list.
Precure with Stands when?
Why are Suite's moms so underrated?
I'd charge Princess with pleasure if you know what I, ugh.
How are they any different from the mothers on the other seasons?
A long time ago.
Why does the OP always spoiler Precure thread?
Pre-Fresh cure moms are ugly
One's the wife of a bakery owner and the other one travels a lot.
Because they're bad parents
I feel so bad for the shit Hibiki has to put up with from them.
Which Cure has the worst parents?
Ai-chan by far.
even lower than usual screentime
>He didn't watch Doremi
Aguri's father turned into a giant personification of selfishness and her mother's shitty genes made her almost die at a young age.
Also her faux grandma is a total jackass.
Current version of the script.
Thanks for all the edits.
I like Happiness fill-up, but are you sure using Fortune Charge for Princess is ok when there's a cure already named Cure Fortune?
Episode #2 - "Gaga~n! Pretty Cure is in danger of breaking up already-nya!"
Oh snap I'll have to change that.
I AM THE LAW
I read that in Hummy's voice.
Meh. You could always go with a different language since it's basically what they're doing, like french or something, and replace one of the words.
Might as well just leave it in Japanese if you're going to do that.
When you spend an entire day marathoning Suite and need to take a break, all you hear "nyaa~" at the end of every sentence.
Such a lingering effect.
Hummy is so cute
Fröhlichkeit Charge, Cure Princess!
hummy best fairy
Not German. No one should have to speak that disgusting language.
It sounds like someone's shredding metal inside your throat.
ευτυχία Charge! Cure Princess!
Based Kotono Mitsuishi
재산 Charge, Cure Princess!
Some good choices I think are "Elation, Bliss, Joy"
How about "ecstasy, euphoria, rapture"
Euphoric Charge! Cure Princess!
It should perhaps be noted that none of these are their actual catchphrases they use.
Stop misusing words for your retarded purposes, ya dolts.
They do use those, but after saying the bigguna ai and blue wind or something. That's not fun to translate.
Rapture Charge, Cure Princess! sounds really cool.
The whole "avoid redundancy" bit isn't necessary because they only say ハピネス注入、幸せチャージ once, not twice. So "Happiness boost, delight charge" is enough.
PRAISE THE HAPPINESS
I went by memory, and it seems I mixed both the preview and the toy in my head. Why they do it differently in each I don't know though. But you're right, it's not as redundant as I thought.
Preview is a trailer that's cut up for size and not to reveal too much. We now know enough not to fall for that though, like what's real rollcall is and such.
Will she be a baka?
Please tell me she'll be a baka
Now I can't stop playing with this http://precure.channel.or.jp/pc/index.php
> Fuyuki's original VA was also Utena and Aria's Athena
That MIDI Dokidoki henshin is simply delightful
She looks so fucking mad, like MAN I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE MAKING ME DO THIS SHIT YOU PUNK ASS BITCH I'M GONNA FUCK YOU UP.
It's kind of hot
>1: just leave the dude alone
Just a forewarning, but supposedly Megumi is going to be the sort who meddles in others affairs just like Miyuki did in that episode (if it's the episode I'm thinking of; guitar kid, right?).
Either Bliss or Joy. Elation sounds too clumsy. I prefer Joy.
Will Miyuki try to sexually harass Princess once she finds out she's called Shirayuki Hime?
Shirayuki Hime is almost certainly a madeup name.
Roleplay is fine too
Yes, it was guitar kid.
I want Megumi to be Gentarou.
Mana could've been a good Gentarou but fucked it up by being too perfect.
I'm kinda scared, /a/. I can't see any difference in their personalities. What if Toei's decided to just let this devolve into crap?
That's some kind of crazy metaGET.
>16 days before Happiness Charge replaces this piece of shit
Imagine how I feel.
Why do they need to be different?
Miyuki and Yayoi were both dumb bimbos
What if both of them being the same kind of person leads to them butting heads a lot?
Lovely is genki tanoshii
Princess is angry tanoshii
What are you talking about, Hime is a coward and is fashionable while Megumi is outgoing and can't into fashion (or was their fashion sense the other way around?).
Their character descriptions seem different enough. Just wait for the actual show to see instead of early fanart done blindly.
No, that's about right. It's HC through a mirror.
Megumi likes fashion but can't into fashion
Hime likes fashion AND can into fashion
Hime isn't a coward in general, she's outgoing, she just sucks at Precure
Megumi is a socialite who had 100 friends in Elementary
>I can't see any difference in their personalities.
You can already see from what we've seen of their henshins that Megumi is more elegant/girly while Hime is more hyperactive
Actually it's weird how Hime is such a cheeky genki despite being described as a "shy with strangers".
Why is Sunny so perfect?
>Hime is a coward
I'm hoping for S1 Usagi style hijinks.
Cowards can be hyperactive
There's no reason a cheeky genki can't be awkward around people she doesn't know.
Because cute tomboy with Kansai-ben.
Osakan tomboys with strong family values are the definition of "best girl".
Because red cures are the best cures.
Even Rin you faggots.
Still miles better than the Mana bullshit we are getting now.
>nobody understands her logic but that's ok because she's MANA she always wins, even when she loses
But Rin was a bitch to Urara. Fuck Rin.
I want to protect that smile
I want to use a turkey baster to squeeze orange juice into the gaps in her smile.
But Ace is worst Doki even if she has neat attacks.
Does that look like the face of mercy?
> she always wins, even when she loses
Now now, Mana may be superhuman but she's no Medaka.
I truly wonder just how fucking reckless she'd be in combat once she gets over her battle cold feet.
>Ace is worst Doki
No, the worst Doki is Sword
She'll be diving off of bridges and transforming in mid-air in no time, just to land a Rider Kick on the MotW.
That's kind of the point though. Mana is basically Japanese Batman.
>Doesn't even have a sword
Hey, you made her cry, you jerk!
I thought Alice was Japanese Batman.
You don't need a sword if you are a sword.
Nah nah, it's Japanese Aquaman.
Why cures have used weapons? Beauty has used bow and swords.
She will only pretend to be reckless when really it's all part of her plan.
>Hime is a coward
being Joseph Joestar is coward?
She cuts things with her hand.
Makoto Hachiretsu... Kai!
>Isn't even rich
These days, the worth of diamonds is more due to advertising than anything else. Diamonds aren't as rare or as valuable as some types of gems, and we already have artificial diamonds that are even higher quality than natural ones.
>Doesn't use a shovel
>Treats people like playthings and then throws them away
>Doesn't assist anyone with their blood circulation.
>Isn't even a plant
>Isn't the best at... wait.
>the only reason she cares about Regina at all is because she couldn't keep her
I'm glad Doki will end while Regina is still relevant so I won't feel depressed every time I see her.
>Not a plant
Now you've gone too far.
but she is, faggot.
Sure sure, that's why her eyes are closed.
>black hair and eyes
>she's not murritard
>Not based on algae
I want to lick not-Nagisa's salty eyebrows.
>Doesn't shine light from her skin
They have fruits alright.
>uses fire instead of nuclear fusion
>not a bird
>That band sucks
>do not heal anyone
>plays guitar instead of percussion
>Uses water as her power
>doesn't wear makeup
>generally acts pretty reserved
They actually do though
>Not a liquid
>never gets kidnapped
>not a tree
>Can't use a riffle
>is actually a princess
I would drink Lemonade's lemonade.
>she's always happy
>Smells like animal ass
Smile's suffering faces made wonders for my dick
That's lewd, Anon. And hot.
I want the Cures to watch me drinking Lemonade's lemonade.
It's actually great.
Urara is great too.
Pine as in pineapple.
I want to have tender sex with suffering Happy so much.
Don't talk shit about dat twintail magic.
ako a cute
Why is she so sexy?
Why are you guys such fags?
You sure love the sluts that you complain about.
I bet this is all Decade's fault.
I'm still watching Fresh, will I ever get what's the meaning of this or is it just some meme thing?
No. Go away.
>Why do you post that anyway?
It's how we think the fights in Hacha will be, except with dancing instead of playing instruments.
Please do not speak for the whole /pc/
who are the best lesbians?
Ramirez actor got a speaking role. FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS.
>Doesn't sound like you could make a living off that.
Seeing how most Seiyuu seem to have to take any kind of role that isn't unlikely.
DDPC most divisive season?
I like how the ZOMG BEST FRIENDS WITH OJOU plot thread was completely omitted by the crown to be replaced with more Joe.
At this point it's starting to get more than a little bit insulting.
Pretty impressive not even Nao freaked out there.
Milk and Karen?
Every season is the most divisive season. Come August or so people will be thinking back fondly on Doki while calling HaCha a piece of shit.
>DDPC most divisive season?
Isn't every season like this?
The cycle continues.
That said, I'd like to get some thought out explanations by the detractors of doki for why they don't like the doki; Its certainly not a perfect season.
Sure, to some degree you're probably right but somehow it still feels like Doki created a rift right down the middle of the fanbase. I didn't really get that feeling with Smile, to be honest.
>Come August or so people will be thinking back fondly on Doki while calling HaCha a piece of shit.
Maybe because of this? The SMILE A SHIT faction got a lot stronger much quicker if I remember correctly.
I'm a Doki fan, but it's easy to see why.
-Increased plot importance means increased pink importance which causes more non-pink irrelevance than usual
-3rd cour is jarring
-Humor is too subtle for some tastes
-Blatant pink pandering even with the first point in consideration
-Some people hate yuri
-Lack of fighting, especially in the first half. Second half alleviates this somewhat, but there still aren't that many stand out fights
-Mostly mediocre stock
-It takes too long for the various plot hints to fit together.
-Sword not getting a sword
-Ace being a utilitarian bitch
'Course, even with all of these flaws, I still love Doki Doki the most out of all of the seasons. It's been a lot of fun. Maybe the third era will be more so.
People really liked Heartcatch, despite it's obvious flaws.
Oh lord, I remember taking a break from TOEI made shows early on in its run, coming back after say...two months, and just being subjected to nearly 10 episodes of PLOT EVERYWHERE but there was no fighting. All of the fighting was done with stock footage, and I was just praying, SOMEBODY HIT SOMEBODY.
And the fighting did pick up, absolutely...right around the time the training arcs started up.
And even being a fan, thats one of my major issues with it, the plot grinds to a halt for focus episodes, focus episodes that desperately need to be spread the fuck out.
In other words PACING
Heartcatch's only flaw is that it was too fun.
For many people, great animation and Erika are good enough to ignore those flaws. Not really for me though, I just heavy dislike VotW in general.
Oh, I suppose lack of focus on the VotW which is less a flaw and simply more of an aspect of how Doki Doki isn't Heartcatch.
I wouldn't say there's a really solid rift, it's mostly just a result of the show being over soon. You've got people who liked it from the start, people who liked it at first but thought it went to shit, and people who hated it from the start. The latter two are a bit more vocal now because the season is almost over, partly because they're eager for next season but also because they have more points to use now to voice their complaints - the way the show handled Ace and Aguri, the lack of focus on the other Cures, what have you.
Doki's early episodes came on fast and hard with plot and characters that seemed solid and interesting, so it's understandable that people might feel bothered by how underutilized a lot of it was.
I'd also say that Gaim being such a fresh take on Kamen Rider might make some of the more overall SHT fans frustrated by Precure's lack of innovation, especially given Doki's start and where it could have potentially gone if given the same treatment.
does the word cour mean quarter? what is that?
>not knowing French
In any case, it does means that. I just tend to use it since it's shorter than quarter.
Heartcatch VotW frequently allowed to characters to play off the episodic situations, something that Doki severely lacks. In some seasons, characters are too reactionary, in Doki they are not reactionary enough. It's like nobody even cares if anything's going on, Mana's still gonna do Mana thing. And I wouldn't mind if it was just Mana and Regina's wacky adventures: the year but it wasn't even that.
>I didn't really get that feeling with Smile
Are there not frequent arguments over Smile, enough for me to consider there to be a divide. Not that I think any of these divides are significant enough.
>Humor is too subtle
I can see intended humour quite often, I just don't find it funny.
It's a loanword from French.
Pretty much that, think about it as the unit made of 13 (or so) episodes of a show. Typical shows are 1 or 2 cours long.
This guy is voicing Blue, confirmed through his blog.
>not reactionary enough
I find amusement from that fact actually.
>Traffic light monster? Just another ordinary day. Better call the student council president just in case.
>Daughter and her friends disappearing for an unspecified amount of time after we ran away from a monster? Just another ordinary day.
>Loli dressed in black invading the middle school? Just another ordinary day.
>A bunch of middle schoolers mountain climbing? Just another ordinary day. Might as well tell them about that cryptic legend I tell everyone else.
>I get assaulted in the beach by golden eyed albinos in black? Just another ordinary day.
>A gluttonous hard gay looking guy threatening to eat me? Just another ordinary day.
>Some trespassers coming to my island in a pink airplane? Just another ordinary day. I better shoot them down.
>Mass comas everywhere? Hey that's not- Oh! Some butler from the Yotsuba Corporation is going to give us free money if we stay quiet!
>My daughter is fighting giant monsters? Eh, she'll be fine.
>Trans-dimensional monsters are invading our world?!? Let's all evacuate in an orderly fashion. Be sure to assist the sick and elderly too!
It makes a nice contrast to how the Trump Kingdom collapsed a few minutes after KJ invaded, now that I think about it.
Next episode, we're getting
>Little girls are attacking the several hundred story tall entity of destruction? Let's go in close to cheer them all on!
They don't give a fuck
I'm failing to see this on his blog.
Oh, it's not his blog, it's his fanclub's lol
Is that reliable information?
Nobody seems to be doubting it in Japan so I suppose.
Nagamine casting got pretty crazy at times in Heartcatch.
>-Ace being a utilitarian bitch
Wow, I never thought of it that way, but maybe that's why I actually like her and defended her throughout the training arc. I've always thought of myself as a utilitarian, and Ace definitely is one as well.
Sasuga best red.
Doki hater here.
-characters are bland and very unlikable, especially Regina and Mana
-continue with the point above, story feels almost solely focused on Mana and Regina; Rikka and the rest feel irrelevant
-story is boring
-the few jokes are 100% unfunny; Sebastian and pink cure-mobiles are plus though
-fairies are barely more than some transformation devices and the one episode they transform is shit
-you can replace Ai with a power-up button, nothing of value would have lost; actually it'd be even better
-barely any fighting
-the transformation animation is suckage
-most character designs aren't very appealing, especially Ace and Heart's
-no stand out episode
I can see people liking Doki if they liked the characters, otherwise I see no positive point to balance the flaws.
>still no subs
Will commie catch up first?
You'll probably catch faster than Commie if you start learning Japanese now.
They have released 2 episodes since Doremi released episode 46 of Doki.
Is lolipophiphop dead?
Doki is just my 2nd Precure and I'm only on episode 19 after a couple of days of starting it. So far my only real complain would be how irrelevant are the Selfish of the week's backstories (in Heartcatch there were some really charming sidecharacters).
So far I agree with a lot of things you say, while, about others I'll wait more episodes to make an opinion (I still don't know why so many people hate Mana, also: isn't Ai... you know who?). Also, personally I love the character designs, specially Heart and Sword (I've already seen Ace and I agree hers suck, though).
Precure seasons vary on that aspect. Some of the shows don't have victim of the week at all. Doki is more MotW since they never focus on the victims. Heartcatch is the only season that had a focus that large on the victims I think.
And I love Mana but the writers LOVE her and they aren't afraid to show it. The focus on her becomes a little obnoxious later in the show so I can see it causing some people to dislike her.
I feel like watching the All Stars movies, is it required to watch all previous series?
And all related movies.
How about "Diamonds are unbreakable!"
>Diamonds shatter easily, actually. You can't cut them or blemish them without another diamond though.
>Heartcatch is the only season that had a focus that large on the victims I think.
Oh, I see. Good to know early.
I guess I completely understand about Mana. Well, I survived KR Kabuto's MC so I guess I can deal with her.
There was a time when a lot of people really liked Mana. She was extremely hyped, and I think won fourth place in the /a/ cure poll from about half a year ago. Or at least in the top ten. That was just after the really heavy mana focus started though. Maybe more people are tired of it than I think.
See that's actually why I prefer Doki. I've never really thought about it that hard but the focus on the victim in Heartcatch came off as kind of silly to me.
The semantics aren't important, the message is.
What's wrong with Tendou?
I haven't watched Kabuto yet, I need to continue watching Kamen Rider once I'm done with Precure.
I have to say I agree with you there. I don't like the format that much and much prefer the show to have a MoTW. If the victim ends up annoying or boring it can make or break an episode and if the victim ends up being likeable then I'll just get annoyed because at most he'll just show up one or two more times.
Not "wrong" but I would understand if someone hated how perfect he was all the time.
Which KR would you prefer then? Makes it easy to know what you're watching.
That makes sense, but that's the reason though.
Since we're on the topic.
I finally tried GAIM as my first rider series. I kind of like it, though I've only seen two episodes. Though it feels way cheesier than even the cheesiest precure. And the monster CGI is just terrible. Still, it's fun. Any hints on what I should try next if I continue to like it?
1.Fruit Energy Riders (think Juicers instead of cutting the fruit part)
The newer ones, New Stage, have mostly Suite, Smile and Doki so you should be good on those.
The older ones I would recommend waiting until you have watched more.
Kuuga to Faiz, Kabuto, or anything after Decade. Be warned anything Den-O onwards is two-parted in plot progress. CGI in Kamen Rider is always like that, continue watching Gaim as it gets serious within later (right now it's rolling in terms of plot really). If you prefer cheesy stuff watch Den-O or Fourze.
I was doing going through Heisei by order of production and stopped after Faiz because I haven't had a lot of free time. Also watched everything after Decade not including decade and Gaim. I only have Smile and GoGo left and after that I think I'll focus on tokusatsu shows.
Thanks. I'd heard Kabuto recommended a lot, so I might go with that one.
Are there any big "You won't understand what the precure threads are talking about when we start talking about Rider if you haven't seen this season" series? Or are those basically the ones you listed, along with whatever is current, and obviously Decade for being kind of a failure, allegedly.
Well, you're not missing much so just keep watching Faiz onward then. But watch Gaim with /m/, it's fun. You'll have to go through more TV-N bullshit though.
You'll either love or hate the main character, that's for sure. The latter is true depending on which Rider /pc/ talks about more or less. If you're watching Kabuto, be prepared to deal with untranslated shit like "Henshin" or "Onii-chan" or grammar mistakes since the translator TV-N is awful at translating Japanese. The reason people watch them because they translated most series Ryuki and still going.
i want to lick not-nagisa's salty eyebrows
>TV-N is awful at translating Japanese
I can handle the 'Onii-chan' crap, but is the rest of it basically guess work or does it just serve as an unpolished translation?
W and Fourze are almost like watching anime if you want to give them a try. Kuuga is my favorite, even if it's a little slow.
Latter, I forgot to add that context is 3/4 lost in most translation and that the font typing is the only thing that has some effort from them.
I was going to but life happened and I wasn't really sure if I was going to livewatch HaCha either. I might be able to join later or something but I hope I could at least catch the first episode.
They have their high and lows. Some series are fine but some have translations that are often just plain wrong.
I've been meaning to wean myself from subs anyway. Maybe rider is actually a good opportunity to at least start. Precure too, perhaps.
Precure good for watching raw. Some dude on /m/ posted Japanese captions for most of Heisei shows so that's what I've been using for Faiz. I had to change their timing every time I watched a new episode though so that was kind of a bother.
Well, for Precure, now's your chance. No one seems interested in releasing quickly these days, even our self-proclaimed speedsubber. And livewatch threads are the best, anyway.
For Rider, it's 100% true in all cases that TVN subs are worse than no subs. I enjoy complaining about Precure subs, but TVN is in a whole other category of bad.
QED albinos are evil and should be eliminated.
I wonder if HaCha will be heavy VotW or not. Not sure what type of victims we would get since the concept of the MotW is the evil within people's hearts.
HC had depressed monsters because they were made from sadness, and Doki had selfish jerks because they were made out of selfishness. Evil's too vague of a concept.
Maybe this time they won't be made from human emotions. Maybe they'll be just minions of the week.
Kabuto is amazing. Get on that
I'm pretty sure one of the descriptions for the show indicated it would be victim of the week but I'm not sure.
Well, now we don't have them all being the same emotion
One week we can have the VotW stealing everything because everything he casts his eyes over is his, another week we can have the angriest motherfucker in all of precure history unleashing all his pent up rage, and later we can have someone... "tempting" the HapChas with whatever they have.
So, how do you want the fights to be in HapCha?
>mfw the entire Les Yay page of DD
My god, I didn't even notice that much. I think they really need to tone this down for next season, it's ridiculous
That's a dark road you tread there, friend.
What the fuck is Les Yay?
Oh for fuck's sake. Half of these don't even make sense. They're reading way too much into everything.
>They're reading way too much into everything.
That's pretty much the point.
But that's bad for enjoyment of the series as a whole.
Its cartoons for little girls. They know that some older folk like it too, but the main target is the little girls. This isn't like KR, where they assume that the adult viewers are mature enough to read deeper into the plot and themes, they're just here for the cute girls.
>But that's bad for enjoyment of the series as a whole.
Speak for yourself.
Most of the time it has nothing to do with the creators, it's something that fans interpret by themselves.
>arguing on the internet.gif
I really should catch up on Gaim, but I still have Doki Doki to watch.
Also, who do we blame for grounding Kamen Rider?
Fuck Gaim. Catch up on all of Dokidoki within the next 35 hours. Then watch 48 live with us. It'll be great, I promise.
His sister, who thinks Olympic athletes shouldn't get paid.
>Still no subs for ep 47
>who do we blame for--
Decade. Always Decade.
from /m/ with love.
How did /pc/ react to this part, when it first aired?
Nagisa is cute
>Bad guy goes to teleport home
>Grab him with a chain, then everyone grab onto the chain
>Boldly delcare that your objective is to follow him back to his headquarters
>He teleports you along with him anyway
I'm rolling here. This is just too much.
CG heart best heart
CG Heart most alluring Heart.
The only good Heart is one who is forced into the background and never mentioned.
Cure Heart appreciation time.
3DCG battle dancing in episodes confirmed.
Try to contain the butthurt.
It's been Heart appreciation time all the time for 47 weeks. It's so sad to think that we only have two left.
>3DCG battle dancing in episodes confirmed
I'm having mixed feeling about this
I don't know Kanji, so I only get "full 3DCG dances" from that.
They forgot the mushroom.
I hope the 3DCG is as good as Doki's second ED
>Summary about Wizard's concept
Why is Nozomi so least privileged?
Bummer. I was actually hoping for some good animation.
The only reason the CG EDs look nice is because they're self contained and everything in them is CG so nothing clashes.
It all depends on shading.
I don't follow.
Nah. Even with the best lightning 3DCG can't do deformation properly so it always ends up looking stiff when side by side with 2D animation.
I hope it's as good as Doki's first ED not more creepy faces than necessary, please
If this is true, I'm quite surprised. I expected them to go for CG in-episode eventually, but to do CG battles before CG transformations? I don't understand it.
If there's anything Precure needs more of, it's lightning.
3DCG in battles shouldn't be that much of a deal right?
>Captcha very sabyfi
If it's like the ED CG (unlikely) or even like Aikatsu's current CG, it'll be okay. But everything else has to be CG too. The impact of CG is lessened when there isn't any 2d to contrast with.
It needs more Yayoi.
Ryuki was like... 12 years ago, man.
Have something recent.
http://ameblo.jp/close-staff/entry-11751870271.html - Shouma Yamamoto will be Blue's voice actor. He was Taiga Nobori in Kamen rider Kiva.
Now you're using your head
3DCG in live action is a little different than in animation
Do we have a pun-related PreCure in terms of characteristic?
But both are awful if used incorrectly
That is a weird choice
I want that Miyuki Yayoi and Hibiki.
>We want the Aikatsu audience
Sometimes I wonder if they make frames like this on purpose.
What are you talking about? It clearly says that they're going to be lesbian lovers.
It's funny because that's the exact opposite of what was reported earlier
Hopefully this is there way of minimizing Kawano's quality, I recently finished Suite and that was not pretty at all.
Bullshit, Precure has been using CGI (and better CGI too) before Aikatsu. This is a natural evolution.
But only on the endings. Bringing it to the show itself seems like a response to the rising popularityof shows like it, and the dwindling popularity of precure since it's had lower ratings year after year after HC.
Not in the show though.
It's a response to having to actually animate things.
>the dwindling popularity of precure since it's had lower ratings year after year after HC.
You got pics to prove this?
Aikatsu is a sort of natural progression from LilPri.
Where are my subs?
In the ocean.
I need to finish that.
The CGI in the actual show (Aikatsu) is awful, awkward, misplace, and an injustice to the anime series as a whole.
Why couldn't we just go back to FW-era fighting? I think >>100416887 is right.
My only hope is that CG-animating characters within the episode is only a fad and people realize how shitty it is.
I think the Aikatsu CG is pretty good now, but it only works because everything is CG. I can't see CG working well with 2d in the context of precure.
Well, we'll have to see how the fights look first.
Also, they don't have that DBZ action director these days
I don't know. Arpeggio of Blue Steel sold really well and it sold a lot.
I think they might escalate this stuff.
They already tried that in some of the movies and nobody cared.
>and nobody cared.
Well, that's mainly because we're numb to it now
Look at it this way, fights are QUALITY anyway, this way we'll probably get more movement at least.
There's a chart that shows the entire ratings of all seasons. It has been lower almost every year after max heart with Doki being the lowest at all. I don't have it on this right now, but it's been posted many times.
Sure, but now we won't get any sakuga either.
It's a bit of a double edged sword.
Now the question is, will there be only battle dances or will there be normal battles too? I'm probably dropping this for good if it's the former. They tried really hard to make me drop this franchise the past two years after all, it's only natural they would eventually succeed.
I'm still not buying this. Anyone know Japanese and can translate this?
Hey, wait a minute. How do we even know that this is for PreCure?
Precure CG dance. Not surprising so far. Care to interpret the rest of the moonrunes for us earthlings?
