JESUS THIS FACE SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME
Quite contrary, I thought that face was awesome.
Quite contrary, I thought that face was hittable
It came out of nowhere. Kaiji was scowling one minute suddenly "YEAH I KNEW YOU WOULDN'T DEAL IT RIGHT AWAY" with a batshit insane expression.
I wasn't expecting that.
But he IS batshit insane.
Backed by GAR.
I would let Kaiji fuck me if he kept that expression on all the time
I immediately replayed that bit several times. Highpoint of the fucking episode IMO, and that's saying a lot.
At this point Kaiji realy reminded me of Akagi.
Too bad he fucked up in the end.
uh no? he wins and Tonegawa gets grilled.
Unless you mean the end end, not the match end.
One of my favorite things about this series is the dramatic animations of metaphors representing the character's thoughts and situations with the narrator's dramatic voice.
WE DON'T KNOW THAT YET
FUCK YEAH CLIFFHANGER
Didnt Tonegawa found Kaiji trap with blood? That means that Kaiji has fucked up.
But i think Kaiji fucked up in setting his trap too, so he wins because of mistake he made. There probably was some blood on his fingers, but Kaiji didnt notice it and marked the card that was supposed to stay clean (slave) with blood, so Tonegawa mistakingly thinks its a citizen.
wish he had that expression when tonegawa dealt the final card. i've had enough of bitch kaiji.
cliff hanger made me scream out WHAT THE FUCK HOW CAN YOU END NOW?!
i am no downloading the raw for 22
I think that Kaiji meant for Tonegawa to see him switch the cards, and actually switched a citizen with another citizen to trick him. When I saw him switch them in 20 I thought it was a little too obvious.
the thing is you'd expect a brilliant fake like that from Akagi. with Kaiji I wouldnt put it past that he wins by jumping blindly in with faith
No, he just marked two citizens in the first place.
I just rewatched this moment. Kaiji takes 3 citizens and put them aside, take a citizen and a slave and put them on the table, then put citizen and place it on top of the slave. After that, I think, he takes the top card (citizen he just put in), Tonegawa sees it, Kaiji marks cards with blood. So marked cards are indeed those he used in 11th game - a citizen and a slave.
Hply crap, Kaiji managed to make a trap inside of a trap! He is indeed Akagi-like!
Quite contrary, I thought that face was rapeable.
Kaiji cries with blood. Thats as manly as it gets.
So I hope Kaiji's going to get his ear reattached with all this money?
Kaiji wins, so we know he had played Slave in that match. Meaning, the whole attempt to look like he was switching his cards was the trap itself.
It's not quite Akagi Just as Planned level foresight, but it certainly took advantage of three things:
1. The immense pressure on Tonegawa.
2. His condescending attitude toward Kaiji.
3. His admirable observation skills.
One thing this episode told me was that as learned/experienced as Tonegawa is, he's no gambler. He's a weaker version of Fake Akagi with a hint of Urabe - he didn't take ANY gambles in this match:
1. First round he played the citizen.
2. Second round he played citizen because he figured there would be a strong chance of a slave.
3. Third round he played it safe again.
By the fourth match, he tried to reason his way into making a decision, he refused to make a move until he'd worked out a rationale for Kaiji.
Actually, Kaiji, I was shitting bricks.
I recognize these dudes from somewhere
No characters have better DO IT FAGGOT faces than Fukumoto characters.
They're Maximum the Hormone.
Masa and Shark Fujishiro?
Bricks, man. Bricks.
NOT EVEN TONEGAWA'S BOSS APPROVES OF KAMINA.
I think he would.
Speaking of which, Tonegawa's boss's speech in ep 21 was even better than Tonegawa's earlier. Does anyone have the caps?
Old mans' dialogue FUCKING OWNS!
I still like Tonegawa's speech more. Tonegawa's speech was more like an observation, and a chilling accurate one at that especially for Anonymous.
Kazu's was more like a powerful opinion.
The message was you must take risks in life if you want to get ahead.
This guy would probably die of happiness if he ever met Akagi.
