>anime only you watched
Special A was awesome.
Even on /m/, there's barely anyone who has actually watched Orguss, nevermind Orguss 02.
Season 2 never
this show made me realise how much i fucking love stars
I've never seen it mentioned at the very least. It wasn't very good.
I was just watching this yesterday in fact. I like it so far
i hated it
>"anime only you watched" thread
>thinly veiled "post anime that you like, regardless of its obscurity - only because is not discussed on /a/" thread
I watched Orguss. It was cool, but that ending.
Watched one episode and "put it on hold" because Main Girl is annoying and at teh time I finished reading Hoshimemo which had them rambling on about stars for ages aswell.
One of my favourite.
The OG damedame
>27/172 episodes subbed
>even the raws are difficult to find
I only saw this because I'm a chink and it was on TV in chinkland
Multiple generations of kids in Germany watched it.
You serious? The games and even the manga are way better anyway, at least they had some semblance of a story.
I saw some of this show dubbed. I remember they called it "Mirmo Zibang!".
Is it any good? or fun?
Really? Well, then, how about this?
Yeah, I know, Russians watched it a lot too too. It is surprisingly good for what is, though.
Just because you are late to the party and 4chan was in its infancy doesn't mean you were the only one watching it. It was actually quite popular when it aired if you hanged out on irc which you probably did if you pirated anime back then.
someone else who has seen this. awesome
it was also available in arabic many years ago
Loved this show back in the day. One of my first so 'wacky' shows
>wanting story with your damedame hijinks
I agree it dragged on in the later seasons and they even joked about it going too long, but it was solid sci-fi comedy.
there have been quite a few ICT nostalgia threads.
Its a well loved series
ive only been using 4chan for like a year and i never saw a thread
This is more popular than you'd think.
I loved it. It's the reason I started reading Assistant.
just remembered I had seen Orguss 2 back in the day. this dub
More people need to watch this, it's not like Akagi and Saki are the only two mahjong shows
I watched through it all hoping it would become good
It's a kiddies show. It's a fun watch but don't expect much
I can't believe I watched the whole thing.
It was alright
At least the incorporated live action was sort of unique
That's because it aired in 2003 and that was over 10 years ago. It's not like you will see many threads about 2013 anime in 10 years from now on 4chan.
I watched it and liked it.
I even played the SG-1000 game
It was fun but the ending was shit.
Not even the manga ending redeemed it.
I watched it because of Akihito Yoshitomi and lesbians. I kind of liked it but the manga set in the same universe was better and lewder.
Based on that one NES game with Sugita as Spelunker.
I remember the puppet was annoying and that they solved murder mysteries together. Shit its been years
was the mystery of the first two episodes piano wire or something that caused the murder?
this was my childhood
It was semi-popular back when it aired in '07, I think?
You beat me to it. I'd like to see another season of it, even though the manga also had a pretty open ending so it doesn't really matter how the anime ended things.
If you didn't watch this you didn't have a childhood!
What about anime that were actually decently popular on /a/ while airing but was pretty much instantly forgotten about afterwards?
Kamen no Maid Guy, Canaan, Tokyo Mag 8.0, Basquash, Ookamisan, Book of Bantorra, what else am I forgetting?
It was simultaneously refreshing and repetitive.
Nope. I cried watching it.
And I enjoyed it
Some of those were only popular because they were bad enough to be fun (Canaan, Maid Guy, Ookami).
One of those was a WHAT A TWEEST show where knowing the ending kinda ruined the experience.
Oh come on. You can do better the that.
You forgot your image.
I feel like I was the only one who watched the show until the end.
>One of those was a WHAT A TWEEST show where knowing the ending kinda ruined the experience.
Yeah but it was a good ride. The portable toilet certainly spawn some "interesting" fan art.
I actually have no clue on Mermaid's Forest's popularity, but I haven't seen much mention of it.
>anime only i watched to the end and genuinely enjoyed
4chan and /a/ have existed for over ten years now and some people here have actually been here longer than you have.
If it got subbed then somebody watched it.
At least I hope I was the only one that watched it.
What a pile of shit.
Yes, no one watched gill and panzer
Did anyone watch Popotan?
>Yeah but it was a good ride.
No argument there, just trying to say why I think we don't talk about it much anymore.
Picture maybe related? Man I want a season 2 but it'll never happen.
Saw it. It was worth it just to understand how bad anime can be.
I was just thinking that. I tried re-watching it, and I am pretty damn sure I only watched it to perv on Mii
I'm pretty sure only like ten people bothered to watch this outside Japan
I watched a few episodes not really for me
I have. It was the first anime I watched.
Why else would you watch it? For the compelling story?
Or so I hope.
The only thing I remember is cactus lesbian and the catchy OP.
I saw a couple episodes.
You, me, a tripfriend and 3 others if I remember correctly. S2 never, manga translations never again. Fumie is best girl.
Yeah I liked it. The red head on the right was Mai right? Best character.
I actually enjoyed the story, and felt that the excessive fan service took away from experience. Would've been better without it.
Well, there is also this
>Not remembering hentai OVA
A shitty show, but I watched it for Rin and I got Rin. I was satisfied.
What a cocktease that show was.
Would rather read the VN.
It was quite forgettable.
It's based on an erogame.
The fanservice was lewd.
I wonder if anyone else enjoyed this show.
Watching this right now. Is the whole show episodic, or are there longer arcs later on?
Is that Infinite Ryvius? If yes, then fuck no. It was a huge borefest.
I was hyped but the quality was utter shit tier
I loved it
highly enjoyed it
Anyone else watch this non-shitty version of Gundam SEED Destiny?
Why do the most loyal and best girls always have to suffer Japan? Why?
I watched Expert Drivers in a fucking VHS, i regret every minute.
All I know about Orguss is
WHEN ARE YOU COMING
WHEN ARE YOU GOING HOME~
something something something, some-thing something~
something something something, some-thing something~
something something something, some thing some thing some some thing thing~
Kiss Dum: Engage Planet?
There is some plot, kinda.
Yep, that's the one.
I got through 3 episodes including half of the recap before I had to drop it like shit on a stick.
I saved this pic a while back. is it that?
I want to punch not-Asuha in the face, just like I want to punch Asuho in the face as well.
Randoming on bakabt will get you many obscure or rather unknown/undiscussed anime.
>tfw no miniature dachshund onanoko
In my opinion, the best Eva clone out there. I'm looking forward to Exodus.
dis shit right here
I really want a season 2 also
man I enjoyed the hell out of fafner, really good OP too.
For a second I thought it was Inu to Hasami.
/a/ only knows her from the "tumblr nose" pic
5000 billions living in my country should have watched that in its dubbed glory. Every single episode of it.
If you live in chinkland where it is aired why are you looking for it online?
I was actually more interested in the manga until scans stoppedthey fuck in the end true vanilla story
>animu with lolis computers and shit
>must be semi decent
couldn't stand more than 2 episodes
I don't see anything special in this thread.
A lot of old mediocre shows but that's about it, I've watched most of them.
>why don't we talk about them anymore
Because we're old too. We're too wise to have anything to say about them besides - "I watched it, It was fun." - at this point. It's the price of getting older, a fewer things make you excited.
Which is good, you should be able to see shit for what it is now.
Shit was on animax, so no. Pretty generic, so I dropped it.
not obscure, but whatever. just listen to this song.
If we're gonna post songs I'd like to post my favorite chinktoon song here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZZz0ZeY6Rw
I'm not sure what you're asking but the reason I'm looking for it online is that I don't live in Chinkland, I was only there for a holiday, I live in Australia.
Ugh, I don't feel live registering. What is it?
It was good before >timetravel
And that's about all I remember.
those eyes are terrifying
I like it. It's on my biannually rewatch list. I really should buy it since I even saved the DVD sub files the fansubber released when the DVDs were released in Japan.
They played that in my anime club at university.
I watched that on VHS. Tempted to rewatch it some day.
Mahburaho is so fucking bad. It's a generic early 2000's harem. The anime end makes everybody (in universe) happy though, so it's actually not generic in that regard.
How did it end? I forgot because it must be 10 years since i last watched it.
I've got acid reflux every time I think about this piece of shit.
I watched it with /a/, but I bet none of them are still on /a/.
The 8 o'clock thing's still going on though, isn't it?
Yeah I see it every day at 8 o'clock when slacking from work.
It was pretty good, but i can't remember for shit what happened in the end.
Anime End: His body replicated itself about 5 or so times when they got the ashes back. Now every girl gets a MC. No idea if he can use magic. They also introduce a new character in the last few minutes of the last episode.
Manga End: Don't remember the full details, but I think it goes more in-depth about his magic condition. In this one, he can't use his magic or else he can destroy the world. Don't remember if the body split happens.
I enjoyed it more than Lain
Also dat soundtrack.
That show had a bad case of Doom 3 going on because they got the TV masters.
I don't even remember but bits and pieces when you told me. I guess it really was a very mediocre show. I can see why the it had a happy end though.
Gakuen Alice, so bad and shit that there is almost no doujins of it.
You can't see shit because it's too dark most of the time.
I didn't watch it yet but they should have put this dog instead of the female MC that was in Dog x Scissors and stoped promoting bestiality to children.
I'm the only one who enjoyed it.
No it was great. Too little fanart of it though.
Binbou Shimai Monogatari.
I watched it, and remember it being mediocre
Watched it, like it, they made a drama in every language of it.
I only watched it because Amano did the artwork.
i liked it, but the end made my ;_;
It was great, but also very boring.
The reaction image of the girl face palming in front of her laptop is from this anime. Most anons don't know.
It was pretty shitty.
Excellent slice of life
I've never really seen anyone post about it, but I really enjoyed it
This anime has been on my mind for years, because it didn't look that bad, but I dropped it in the first episode. I've been wondering whether I missed something.
I bet it's about marial arts and not a loli getting gangbanged though.
I've waited for your post.
It's the manga, the source material for the anime.
you disgust me..
That's more disappointing than martial arts. Thanks for not calling me a faggot.
Also, I got the name confused with Binbō-gami ga!
Finished it two weeks ago. As far as stargazing anime goes, it doesn't hold a candle to Twin Spica unfortunately.
You don't see it mentioned because we read the manga and everyone agreed that the anime was shit when it aired.
Stellvia was great, my favorite part is the episode where the main characters bawl their eyes out over the station wide intercom for the whole fucking episode. Damn girl, get your shit together.
Everyone who was around that time was watching this, we had plenty of threads on /a/ back then.
This was fun to watch but the premise was incredibly stupid.
You are kidding right?
I'm not going to reply to every single post so I'm just going to throw out a question here:
/a/ is over a decade years old, some of us have been here all the time since. Do you honestly believe that we didn't watch the shows that have been subtitled these past 10 years?
You should all realize by now that this is a recommendation thread. Do what the OP wants instead and post unsubbed children's shows from the 80s.
Fuck you, it was good.
It was probably 2deep4u with all it social commentary on japan.
I really liked this when it was airing but all the sub groups dropped it. Did anyone every go back and finish it?
I like it for one reason they killed the stereotypical MC in the middle of the series..
That being said I wouldn't rewatch it.
Taishou Baseball Girls
This looks interesting, does it go all out lord of the flies like Infinite Ryvius or is it a kid's show through and through?
I bet no one here watched this one.
This fucker right here.
Though I didn't watch Mitsuganae so I don't know how the whole thing ended
I marathoned this last week actually, it was fun enough that I didn't get bored sitting through the whole thing. It's a shame the manga didn't get translated, I really want to know how it ends.
This was well received when it was airing, but it's a comedy through and through, not much to talk about today.
It would really surprise me if anyone else saw this
This seems to have a strong following on futaba for some reason
I didn't cry but my eyes got a bit moist. It was a great watch.
I'm too social to find anime only I've watched
I wouldn't surprise me you just discovered 4chan.
I remember skipping school because I wanted to marathon this.
doesn't that shit have like only 3 episodes.
Probably some diehard "Go Nagai" fans in /m/ have seen it as well, I doubt many others would stomach it.
>biography of a schoolteacher where everyone is represented as cats
It's nine years old, flew pretty much under the radar even back then and subs were difficult to come by. So it's not like that Kurau is or was common knowledge.
Fucking tense as fuck.
Don't forget to read the manga.
I still can't believe how good it actually was.
Are you fucking kidding me? If you are new just say so. There is no shame in admitting you were 8 years old when it aired but don't try to label it if you weren't a part of the community back then. It certainly didn't fly under any radar at all.
>subs were difficult to come b
Please it was quite easy. If IRC wasn't your thing you had either ed2k or dc++.
Shame it had a great potential though they fucked it up releasing 3 minute ONA every two months.
Everybody watched Hell Girl. Hell, even my mom did (the 1st season)
I disliked the end though.
>3 minute ONA every two months
Why even fucking bother then? I don't get why they make shit like this.
I watched it and loved it.
I didn't watch it when it aired due to the ''huuuurrrrr madoka rip off/influence'' bullshit but it was a nice watch with a pretty chill villain.
A lot of it didn't make sense in the end but it was alright.
First series is Status Quo end
Second she disappears, apparently free
Third I dunno
Which end are you talking about?
Nigga you best be joking.
Holy shit this fucking show dragged forever.
I liked the guy's whole ''I'm too smart which is why I don't really understand people even though I'm smart enough to get people'' which delayed the union but the gimmick of having every girl hit on the guy really got old fast.
Even at the end with the fucking daughter trying to steal her father from the mother went a bit over my head.
Probably one of the best romances but it was really meh.
I'm watching this right now. At ep 17.
This goddamn brilliant faggot is fucking genius.
He'd win against Yang any day of the week.
One day I'll write a greentext of how a LOGH historian would see his accomplishment and ignore all the silly shenanigans he did and play it straight and you'd think he was a military genius.
With what I've written down, it's fucking hilarious.
girls bravo isnt exactly popular
but I'm pretty sure a lot more have seen it than those who talk about it existing
I love watching these old mediocre shows that were probably popular ten years ago, but have been forgotten ever since.
Anything aired after 4chan's inception was more or less discussed here or on other anime forums while it aired.
best grill won
I'm watching that
C´mon, everyone and their mom have at least seen season 1.
Otomo Yokai Zakuro, you're not the only one.
I used to watch this after school when I was a kid, dubbed in spanish.
>and their mom
I didn't know this was actually broadcasted as a childrens show anywhere other than in Japan
you are not alone, anon-san
I don't watch anime much, now manga on the other hand.
Not trying to sound like a hipsterlord, but some of my manga collection are so obscure they probably never even mentioned in any english speaking anime/manga website.
>but some of my manga collection are so obscure they probably never even mentioned in any english speaking anime/manga website.
That is quite unlikely. If you can't find it on mangaupdates then maybe you have a point.
b est girl win.
Scrapped princess is in now way obscure.
it was also complete shit.
This thread can be summarized as "I just got into anime and watched an old show. I've seen no threads discussing this anime on /a/ so therefore only I have seen it."
Guys, how come you never discuss Gurren Lagann? It's amazing! I guess I'm the only one who watched it!
Definitely still in the top 10
I heard the manga was unfinished.
Yeah she will never finish it, just stick with anime original ending, it's decent.
You know, there was a thread like that last week. The next day there was another one, but it was about Code Geass.
I weep for this board.
Not everyone is oldfag, grandpa.
>anime original ending
Ugh, I'd rather wait for the manga to be finished. Don't know how long will I last, though.
>Don't know how long will I last, though.
Well, good luck in your afterlife.
It's completely subbed now so I don't see why anyone would miss it anymore really. Personally grabbed the subs as they were released recently. Pretty sure kkow's the same. Though even if it's already done, have only seen half of it yet.
Anyway, to keep on topic picture related I guess. Though if it's only about old shows, Princess 9 maybe? Have to say, the whole "Hurr no girls in our manly sport" topic was quite fun to watch. Too bad it was less realistic relying on magic pitches and the like.
