WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT! nothing made sense and nothing that happen mattered. anything new that was introduced was forgotten two episodes later. most ridiculous amount of pointless characters that i have seen. and that retarded anime cliché behavior at the end... felt like watching calimero. why do you idiots even like this garbage that much?

I went back to the visual novel general and people were attacking someone for posting a reaction to a fairly big part in a VN just because "everyone has read it already"

So, with 18~ish characters and six separate games, with the first one covering Yui, Iwasawa, and Matsushida Godan, can we expect at least one "no girls allowed" game?

Yep. The only people who use "autism" as an insult are idiots. Case in point, 3D reaction gifs, "umad" meme shit, and liking Angel Beats.

/a/ definitely enjoyed it while it was airing. The threads were fun. It was unanimous that TK was awesome. When it ended, most people were sad that it didn't have enough time to develop better, but most agreed it was still good.

>>100330410
>nothing made sense and nothing that happen mattered.
Welcome to anime. First off, if you couldn't follow AB then that sounds like a personal problem. The only difficult part some people seem to not grok is how the girl could have arrived before the guy when she died after him, but that's fairly minor and someone made a purgatory theory that fits nicely.
>>
I didn't think it was that horrible, but it definitely wasn't too memorable. I know some people who said they cried during it, which is crazy because I didn't feel attached to any of the characters.

One thing I didn't get is, did all the characters die as children, or did they just get reincarnated into purgatory as children because they had unhappy childhoods?

I know the protag was going to med school, but they don't cover the deaths of several other characters.
>>
This show had a lot of potential. It played around with a lot of cool ideas, but it never really went anywhere with them. Also, all of the romance in the show felt incredibly forced and underdeveloped. If it had gotten more episodes it may have turned out a lot better.
>>
>>100332499
Just from a guess, they all were represented at the ages they died at. That's the most logical conclusion given that the MC was the same age as when he died, and so were the few other characters that had their pasts hinted at.
>>
I don't know how to feel about the episodic VN releases.

On one hand, it's a letdown, because I thought the whole thing was coming out soon, but on the other hand, it might increase the probability of translations in a timely manner, and keep the VN relevant for longer.
>>
>>100332644
Kind of a bummer that Angel died as a child given she had a heart transplant, but not altogether unsurprising.

Don't most transplants of organs like hearts last about 10 years or something?
>>
>>100332644
Wait, but I thought Kanade said she was able to live a full life?

I guess "full" is subjective but still, 15 or so years isn't exactly full. Do we know when she received the heart?
>>
>>100332779
>Do we know when she received the heart?
Given the range of time an organ can be transplanted in, shortly after the MC died. It's possible that they are depicted at the age that their "regret" takes place in as well, so she may have lived a full life and still went to the afterlife as a teenager.
>>
>>100332769
>Don't most transplants of organs like hearts last about 10 years or something?
It depends on a lot of factors really some people can live like 30 years on a transplant. I guess it really depends on how compatible the donor and recipient are.
>>
>>100332499
Let me summarize everything.

Ayato Naoi - exact cause of death unknown, performed a cameo during Yusa Arc
Chaa - one of SSS founding members, wanted to "build a home for her beloved"
Fujimaki - X
Hideki Hinata - one of SSS founding members, went into depression after decisively losing a baseball match, dies in a vehicular accident
Hisako - co-founded GirlDeMo, blames herself for the death of former bandmate
Kanade Tachibana - saved by Otonashi's heart, cause of death unknown
Masami Iwasawa - co-founded GirlDeMo, had severe head injury during parents' fight
Matsushita - X
Miyuki Irie - X
Noda - self-proclaimed hero, first SSS recruit, built traps for HQ (speculated to be video game otaku)
Ooyama - one of SSS founding members, cause of death unknown
Saitou - X
Shiina - lived as ninja from unknown period with codename C7 (shi-nana), almost disappeared after enjoying festival fire for the first time
Shiori Sekine - X
Takamatsu - X
Takeyama - internet recluse, has a secret hobby of blogging
TK - "dances a lot" is an understatement
Yui - quadraplegic after a certain accident, wanted to do everything she can't while living
Yuri Nakamura - one of SSS founding members, claims that she did not commit suicide
Yusa - had intense hate for men, stabs the closest male with scissors until dead, persuaded by Yuri to join SSS
>>
>>100332872
>shortly after the MC died
No shit, I mean how old was she when she got the heart? Even infants can receive heart transplants.
>>
Angel Beats will have a two cour remake sometimes in the future that will blast everyone out of the window. You heard it here first.
>>
>>100332872
She states explicitly that she had no regrets except being unable to thank the person who gave her their heart.

The Protag had no regrets either, but was brought to purgatory to fulfill Angel's regret.

Then God/Karma/Whatever hooks them up in the next life because he/it's a bro.
>>
>>100332954
I forgot.

Fujimaki - unknown as of present, latest chapter is Fujimaki's arc
>>
>>100333018
I want to believe but I doubt it. The VN would have to reach F/SN levels of popular for a reboot, the best we can hope for is a prequel.
>>
>>100332972
Thinking more about it, I'm still pretty sure they're represented at the age they died. It would mean Kanade got the transplant some time when she was you (maybe 8 - 10) and then lived until she was 16, which she was thankful to the MC for.

>>100333019
>She states explicitly that she had no regrets except being unable to thank the person who gave her their heart.
Right, that's what I meant.
>>
>>100333143
Even in it's shitty and incomplete state, the anime sold incredibly well. It's not unthinkable that it might get that popular.
>>
>>100333502
F/SN is the most popular VN in all of history, bar none. F/Z was also the highest selling anime of its year I think.

It's possible for AB! to reach around Clannad levels, maybe, but that would likely only prompt a prequel.
>>
>>100333669
>F/Z was also the highest selling anime of its year I think.
Hard to imagine when the blueray disc version costs $500 and I've yet to find a DVD version.
>>
>>100333781
It was #2, I forgot Madoka came out in the same year.

Also, somehow it barely outsold IS.
>>
>>100333502
Angel Beats is an anomaly. It would have been a severe threat to its contemporaries if it had more episodes and a more polished story layout.
>>
>>100333961
Couldn't they have just made it two short seasons then?
>>
>>100334023
They probably didn't think of using a split-cour format for the series.
>>
>>100333961
They could always pull a F/SN, Full Metal Alchemist, Evangelion, Berserk, or Hellsing and say fuck it re-releasing the entire show with a .rewritten story.
>>
>>100334111
Eva used movies and Hellsing used OVAs.

Come to think of it, has any Key work gotten a movie other than that shitty Clannad movie?

I'd kill for a Planetarian OVA.

Rewrite anime when?
>>
>>100334929
Well, nobody would describe popularity by rating, plenty of the most popular anime are polarizing or simply not considered masterpieces.

Honestly, I was basing my interpretation mostly on number of derivations as well as VNDB. Fate/Filler has several games, written works, anime, etc.

It might be the F/SN isn't the most well known and played visual novel ever written, but I feel highly confident it is.

>>100335234
Who knows. Probably some day, but adapting a canon omnibus is going to be a bitch.

I don't know of any that canonically need omnibus, but the differences between rewrite and other Key novels/ romance VN's is it has a fair amount of action in it that will allow for an easier transition to anime imo.
>>
Pffffhahahaha
>>
>>100335510
The point of moon was that every character route happen in parallel universes, as well as many other routes not covered. Also, routes are obviously mutually exclusive in a way something like Clannad wasn't. How can Kotarou be in both Guardian and Gaia, while also camping with the druid. If you throw in too many routes the character routes become Terra.
>>
>>100335326
>Have any other anime covered parallel realities in the sense that rewrite did before?
Fate stay night.
>>
>>100335783
It hasn't even aired yet anon.

The old one didn't either, it covered the fate route exclusively, adding in a little bit of filler from UBW and acknowledging that HF exists.

I haven't the slightest clue how you could get information about the Key, Gaia and Guardian in the same timeline in a Rewrite anime.

>>100335668
They don't become terra because that hinged on a seperate decision that I won't go into because of major spoilers, but I get what you are saying. First needs to be Kotori definately. I wouldn't mind cutting a bunch of Lucia's and Chihaya's routes and just integrating those into Shizuru's and Akane's routes
>>
>>100335976
I read the VN, that's not what I meant. I meant the character route would LOOK like Terra, Kotarou backstabbing everyone, acting as a triple agent, that kind of thing.

Otherwise there's no way for him to be in 3-4 groups at once.
