Fuck hollywood. They are gonna ruin Gundam.
Why must hollywood do this? Don't they have enough comicbooks to ruin?
might be like the last resident evil film. so bad it was funny.
I couldn't give less of a fuck, and neither should you.
all hope is lost
There's nothing left to ruin, anon.
But not good
there were Tekken and King of Fighters live action movies?
Nothing has been said about making a Hollywood adaptation of Gundam. Besides which, a live action Gundam movie already exists.
>According to sankakucomplex.com
KDramaStars confirmed for worthless clickbait.
I honestly don't care, I just hope this doesn't lead to more newfags coming here.
actually mite b cool. If it had really high quality special effects, good actors, and written with the Japanese creators I can envision a good movie.
>According to [website banned here]
Should I even continue?
The source used by sankaku. It's pretty much confirmed
I'm still waiting for live action Eva.
There is literally nothing confirmed. Just that Tomino is supposed to be coming on to work on an anime/manga project that will be live action and CG. So the only actual confirmed bit of information is that everyone is going to fucking die.
Have you forgotten /a/?
I've seen G-savior but not the original series
Starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.
I found an old copy at a used bookstore once. I knew it's reputation but figured it'd be worth it just to have. It was so scratched that the clerk refused to sell it to me. I'm not one to disregard fate's intervention and have never tried to acquire it since.
>Don't they have enough comicbooks to ruin?
That's the point. The comic bubble is about to burst.
If I was a worse person I'd link you to a video of someone preforming an abortion and tell you it's the trailer. I'm not gonna do that but you get the idea.
All that's confirmed is that Tomino is holding a press conference to talk about making movies. It's more likely going to be original shit than Gundam adaptions.
Can't wait for Armando Reyes to boldy pilot the Gundam (pronounced gun-dumb) against the forces of the Scion Empire (because Zeon is too close to Zion and you better not forget the 6 trillion, goy) and their ace pilot Charles Asbel.
It doesn't have to be good. It just needs to be astoundingly shitty and have Robin Williams as Gendo.
even if /a/ has....I doubt /m/ would.
Also, thanks for the fucking reminder that this piece of shit existed. Now I'm going to get a "few" drinks to forget it
Why is Andy Samberg in that?
isn't he already working on g-reko
Even if it's bad, it still has the potential to be like Bayformers, aka CGI porn and nothing else.
It would suck, but I'd still enjoy it just for the visuals.
Except bayformers had overly busy exposed internals with fast moving close ups so there was nothing to enjoy during the movie. The mecha designs were ass even outside the movie.
>They are gonna ruin Gundam
Gundam did that already.
This is G-Reko.
I actually liked the business of the designs and the shakiness of the camera. I understand it's not for everyone though.
I beg your pardon?
Hollywood movies are never good. Why do Americans think anybody wants to see their shitty adaptations?
That sounds terrible and not it loops back into being good terrible, just terrible.
Because they do or else they wouldn't gross so much.
Gundam will probably flop too, most people will see it as a dumb Star Wars ripoff.
I still can't believe how fun that barely-disguised toy commercial is.
More like cheap Bayformers ripoff. Pacific Rim fell into that trap.
If they partnered with Legacy FX it's a good news, those guys are a reference for prop design.
They aren't qualified for CGI graphics though, unless they build real and fully operational gundams.
tldr CGI scenes is gonna suck, mecha design will be faithfull to the original.
I guess we should thanks Pacific Rim ? If Gundam sells well we're going to see Eva next.
Kungfu Panda outgrossed every domestic film during it's Chinese release. Hollywood understands Chinese tastes better than China does. Yet another example of how American cinema is the best thing since sliced Wonder® Bread and the rest of the world just plays ketchup.
First the mtg movie and now this. Why must hollywood ruin things I love.
What I hate about all these movies is they try to cram 50+ episodes into a 2 hour film. With narration and montages you could cut out a bunch of shit but some stuff would still be missing.
That being said a movie set in the One Year War could work, just make up some new scenario, it was a war that spread worldwide and in space, surely the cartoons haven't touched everything. And It doesn't have to be Oscar-worthy either, I'd settle for We Were Soldiers or Black Hawk Down.
I still can't believe how mad people get when they realize it doesn't hid the fact.
But you love shit and they keep producing it year after year.
I don't think we'll ever see a live action Eva movie. If it's made for Japan it'll flop super hard in the west. If it's made for the west Japan would kill Anno and hang his corpse from the giant statue of Rei. Gundam is maybe workable but Eva is a no go.
Good I fucking love gundam.
Hopefully a robot/kaiju renaissance will happen. I'm sick of superhero/zombie movies infesting hollywood
>Japan would kill Anno
I'm ok with this
And a Dead or Alive Live Action movie. Starring the ugly as fuck Devon Aoki.
While the idea for hollywood Gundam is retarded, it might be okay if Del Taco directed it.
I'm a fan of the fact that Marvel is making a shit ton of movies, I mean they might fail, but fucking guardians of the galaxy of all things is getting a movie.
Three 2 hour films like the First Gundam Movie Trilogy could work.
It sounds like a plan unit you realize he'd be the one making the movie and is over the phase of his life where death by unruly mob sounds appealing.
Fuck even thinking about putting it in UC. Make it an AU.
We don't have a movie because copyright hoçlders are blaming each other for years and can't get a proper deal.
I'm sure the hollywood sharks can throw some hollywood money to make things faster if they need it faster.
>Western live action Eva and 4.0 premiere
>The Live action is so bad the united states and hollywood stop caring about anime forever
>4.0 is so awful the japanese riot, burn to the ground every single anime studio and hang Anno.
>The japanese stop watching anime to rebuild their country and reproduce
>Anno dies with a smile in his face.
>00S2 is derailed to give it more UCisms because there wasn't enough in the first to satisfy the fanbase
>Unicorn is a thinly disguised Zeon fanwank literally assembled out of old UC cliches and is only worth it because it's pretty
>AGE fails to miss it's intended target by a long shot, and thoroughly bores the existing fans except for parts of the second act and Old Man Flit
>GBF is only really notable for references, and is inferior to GPB in execution
They've already been ruining it for a while.
Late UC is fine. OYW-era is crowded enough as is. Actually, retcon G-Saviour while they're at it.
If they can't work out the finances imagine how well it would go when they get down to rewriting the script, much less casting. It'll never happen man, just isn't meant to be.
Why don't they just do an 8th MS Team Live Action. I could see that working fairly well.
>GBF only notable for references
2/10. See me after class.
Robin Williams wants to play Fuyutsuki though.
You didn't address the rest of that. Aside from the waifu bait, Gunpla Builders handled the execution of the concept far better than Build Fighters does.
We can only hope and trust in The Master that this was his plan all along.
How they will ruin it? Just don't fucking watch it, it's not like the anime series will be affected by it.
Remember Dragon Ball Evolution.
I can't wait for the skullduggery that arises from comparing Zeon to the jews and "The Drop" to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Build fighters wasn't a cg fest like builders.
>it's not like the anime series will be affected by it
Except Funimation still refuses to release DBZ properly.
Just went for the most obvious one where you ignore GBF's high quality animation and directing during certain scenes. No one sane is going to dispute AGE.
>Anno sacrifices himself for good of homerand
>he was the hero all along
They couldn't work out the finance because Hollywood didn't cared enough.
If they try stuff with Gundam there is no reason to not try stuff with Eva as well.
It's like I want to see it though Hopefully fans will destroys the studio when the horrible first trailer will be leaked
>high quality animation
If that's all you're judging on, then by all means go ahead. It's nice, but a show needs more to rely on than just being pretty.
You guys do know GBF and Build Fighters have the same writer right?
We've already gone over three different things for a show with "only one notable" aspect. I'm done with your shit.
If they make a good Godzilla, anything is possible.
oh god please be good
I'd hope so.
He's right about all but the bottom though.
You don't say.
As much as I would love to see a little bit of rioting over a chinese cartoon being adapted into a movie it's never gonna get off the ground. Hell I bet Anno wouldn't even sign off on it unless he had total creative control and Mr. Goldshekle of MGM doesn't put up with that shit.
It looks like it's going to be HOO-RAH MERICA STRONG bullshit. Unless they show all the paratroopers from the trailer pancaking against skyscrapers.
Being good isn't enough. These days it seems a movie has to make billion dollars to considered successful.
We can only hope anon.
>Not a shit ton of dead people as godfuckingzilla fights against other monsters.
At least two other monsters are confirmed.
And several trillion before it's considered profitable.
The Gundam is already coloured in the colours of the Star-Spangled Banner Flag. I can't wait for the United Federation of the Earth of the America to blast off and strike at those evil fascist murdering Xeon. (Name changed to alleviate the connections to our most important ally in the middle east.)
Yeah I don't see Anno being Hollywood's bitch either.
>mfw studio Kara is bought by MGM.
Even if they don't get the rights I can see them doing a generic blockbuster pandering to Eva / mecha fans, Pacific Rim was already screaming of references.
It's going to be Pacific Rim but just fighting other mechs..
man, why did the main character have to be so generic... why couldn't they have fun with it..? WHY CAN'T THE MAIN CHARACTER JUST DIE?
Pacific rim was okay in terms of action, I only puked at forced romance and drama.
Are you really going to doubt Kill'em All Tomino?
>It's going to be Pacific Rim but just fighting other mechs..
And your complaint is?
I think Pacific Rim was already the movie Hollywood would make if you said "Make Eva without Anno and make lots of money." Anymore than that and you start crossing into "audiences won't like this" territory.
>Popcorn summer blockbuster
>Killing the main character
they're going to smear shit all over that simple premise with hollywood style 'character development', aka god bless america, forced romance at every turn, and the expected "oh no the main character is dead! lol jk we got you good huh??"
it was forced. just because people have been throwing the word onto anything and everything falsely these days doesn't mean that nonsense felt natural in any way during pacific rim.
it's not like they can't pull it off, I even was quite pleased with the whole "falling is easy" line the main character threw out, but they're just too scared to let the main character die.
There wasn't any romance in Pacific Rim. At all. That's why we're laughing at you.
For Pacific Rim I think it's more Del Toro influence's than Hollywood's but it's the same in the end.
If they tried to pander to Evafags with a movie made from scratch, it would be much, much worse than Pacific Rim.
I wasn't that poster, but I certainly sympathized with his complaint.
Are you saying it literally had no romance, or that what was on display was so low it couldn't even be considered romance? Because I agree with the second one.
I suppose this is absolutely convincing romance.
Or Hollywood's favorite technique:
>Gonna Ruin Gundam
That already happened, it was called SEED Destiny
The latter. There was some affection between the main characters, but it was more like a bond over surviving such a traumatic experience together.
No no, even before that >>100327225
It's still gonna be better than G-Saviour. A Hollywood Gundam is better than a Canadian Gundam.
Even if it's bad, it can't be horrendous. Americans are fairly competent with sci-fi.
frankly i think you should have, i think youd be more entertained by an abortion then eva
American movies have the best cgi.
They devoted scenes to having the heroine just check out the shirtless hero. I just want to actually believe there is an emotional connection going on for once instead of instant attraction just to fill the quota of make out scenes.
I'm willing to concede I might be blowing it up, I haven't seen the movie in a while, so I'm going off of the memory of what I thought at the time.
I'd agree. Pacific Rim is(unfortunately) the best case scenario for a Hollywood made giant robot movie.
I'd love to see a really well executed live action Eva, but it would actually be easier to put a man on Mars.
>Americans are fairly competent with sci-fi
If they go for something serious like Saving Private Ryan then yes a main character dying would be justified but if they just want to have a group of fun characters kick ass for 2 hours I don't see the point in killing one of them.
It worries me that they are using a picture from my favorite Gundam series for this travesty.
This is only partially related but I want to complain... I wish Hollywood movies would stop making all of their fight scenes super blurry and close up. In the case of CGI, I understand it helps cover up some of the unnatural aspects, but even in purely choreographed, person against person scenes, I want to actually be able to enjoy the martial arts or 'one versus many' aspect.
Except they forgot to make the main character fun. Most of the other pilots got to be quarky and over the top, but they killed them off as soon as possible. All we had left was the American, and because it's Hollywood, they won't poke fun at him specifically.
The website is reposting something shitkaku reposted from a moonland rumor site. The picture is literally the second hit if you google image search for gundam and it's from probably the only series murrica would recognize.
What does a one shot Gundam movie even look like as far as plot goes?
I feel like it'd be the equivalent of star wars ep 1..
yea, i doubt it will be one shot, i am also almost sure they are doing UC, if not they are doing wing or seed, you know, the ones that the kiddies all watched and got them into gundam
Maybe something like Iron Man, but instead the suit is fifty times bigger?
Killing terrorists is always 10/10 in movies these days.
But the Gundams are the terrorists...
Not if their the Federalist scum.
Time for frozen teardrop?
tvtropes is a shit.
