How do we know that animals are colorblind anyway? Did we cut out their eyes and sew them into people's heads?

Maybe some animals are just fucking stupid, not colorblind. Especially dogs.

It may be the internet, but I now know that you are a dog.

Eyes have special cells for receiving different color wavelengths. Humans have red, green, and blue cone cells. Dogs see very similar to a human with red/green colorblindness, thus their world looks like muddy yellows and blues.

The image isn't from the dog's eyes, it's from the internet-attached camera embedded in the dog's forehead as a security device.

Unfortunately the family forgot the camera's password just like they forgot where they put the dog.

Cats are in a state of constant hallucinogenic psychotropic euphoria. Catnip eliminates that condition and sobers them up. That sudden altered hyper-reality of everything is what freaks them out.

I think I see what they're trying to pull here.
It's newfag bait, kinda like that panda shit.
They're just pretending like we're the idiots and we can't "see" the difference, when in fact there is none.
OP just posted two exact images stiched together and is trying to fool people, who don't quite get how the board culture works here, pretending that things which exist, do not (Tsukihime anime, DtB s2 etc) and things which don't exist, do (sad panda, the difference between those images etc.)
So don't get easily fooles like that.
>>
>>100329434
There's no way someone could go this long without realising that people mean something when they say "red".
>>
>>100329388
Why do you fear colorblindness? You're used to it anyway. I am colorblind too, but I don't really care because I like the way I see colors, and if I were to get a normal eyesight I would probably go crazy.

I wonder what it would feel like if I somehow got an eye transplant and have one eye normal and one colorblind, I bet things would end up in me poking out my new normal eye.

Apparently primates are unique among mammals in being able to see three primary colors, and supposedly it's because since most of them are tree-dwellers they had extra evolutionary pressure to be able to distinguish fruit and leaves and such.
>>
>>100329823

Colorblindness affects a bit over 8% of males. That means one out of twelve people in this thread have it. AND IT IS YOU!

Then you have bigger problems to worry about than an undiagnosed case of colourblindness that you never noticed anyways.

Like your soul-crushing loneliness, your repressed sexuality or being a disappointment to your parents.

You haven't watched the episode have you?
>>
>>100330480
why worry when you can embrace? the world needs people like us
>>
>>100330566

"Legally blind" doesn't mean much. It just means that your vision is shitty enough that you always have to wear glasses or contacts.

Also fun fact for this thread:

You only see full color in the direct center of your vision. The density and mixture of cone cells drops off towards the edges so you can't actually differentiate color in your periphery.
>>
>>100330790
See, that's the point, i am 23, and i never realized. It also disqualifies me from having a Drivers license.

My vision in my right eye is shit, and i can't see the red spectrum, with it, i can only see red with my left eye. Base colour blindness could go under the radar fairly easy if someone could miss that i think.

I was doing one of those chart tests with the letters, it was a precursor to getting my Drivers license (I left it late, i know, but getting a license in my state is an enormous pain in the ass). I could only get the first row with my right eye.
>>
>>100320899
I never understood this rumor. Why would a dog not be able to look up. They look up all the time!
>>
>>100331305

No fucking clue. There's a lot of retarded shit that makes it way into society's set of commonly held beliefs. Heck, most people thing that colorblindness means seeing in greyscale.
>>
>>100331104
No, I mean how the fuck can you not notice that your left and right eyes see completely differently?

I blame television.

>>100331619
Do you not ever converse with others? Or get eye exams at regular intervals?
>>
>>100330790
Actually, I think being legally blind means that even with glasses or contacts your vision is still worse than a certain point. Or that you don't have any peripheral vision.
>>
>>100330939
Having one eye does not diqualify you from a license and give you an excuse to live with parents forever.
>>
>>100332556

No, as I've been told by my ophthalmologist that I could be considered legally blind. I just have bad myopia (nearsightedness) to the point that I have to wear a strong prescription (but can see better than 20/20 with).

The operative word is "legally." That means, for example: if I was to take the stand as a witness, and I said I had not been wearing any corrective lenses at the time, they could disregard my eyewitness account because I wouldn't have been able to make out a face or license plate from a distance.
>>
>>100332999
>does not ... give you an excuse to live with your parents forever
It does.
>>
>>100333488

Basically if he gets into any shit, he's going to get slammed for driving while "blind", even if he sees quite well with his glasses.

He's not barred from a license... He'd just be really dumb to drive if he didn't have to.
