You have got to be fucking kidding m-
Look at that slut.
Why is he drinking ketchup?
Why not send a bird to get some air?
A second is needed anons to respect those are felled in battle :'( noot noot Pengin
For maximum edge. Emonzaemon was the only character I couldn't stand in that anime, and not even because he killed that kid. Heck, I even liked his mistress and didn't mind the ending. Everything Emonzaemon did annoyed the shit out of me. Even his death was irritatingly unsatisfying.
Also, if that upset you, you're in for a real treat down the line.
He bit the bullet, as expected of the wordplay master, nisioisn.
Not ketchup anon, only dreams.
this was worse than Togame's death
because stupid reasons that only make sense in the author's head
just like the whole last episode
Boku no...fuck it, Katanagatari. Abloobloo spoonfeeding! Cry me a river.
My sentiments exactly regarding that faget.
I just don't understand why you'd even reply at all, like just don't say anything.
Nothing is worse than that.
It's tabasco sauce. It's hot, that's why he's tearing up
Because he asked and I knew the answer to his damned question. What I don't understand is why we have to be such snooty jerks in this regard.
what we got instead was not that bad, to be honest
So /a/, which one was your favourite episode? Mine is probably 10, since I'm a sucker for these 'finding yourself' motifs, followed by 12 and 6.
We got Nanami instead, no need to be mad.
Probably replied for the same reason you replied and I am replying. The only way to win on /a/ is to never say anything at all.
Because if we weren't, more people like you would be on this board.
Because we dont deserve nice things
Same reason worst girl wins
I just watched Katanagatari a few weeks ago after seeing this gif but nowhere in the anime was it to be found.
Episode 4 preview.
Watch it again. All of it this time.
Last episode had everything. MC being bad ass. Worst girl and Best girl both getting what they deserve.
Because it takes a very special kind of retard that can't reverse image search.
12 i cant imagine a more perfect conclusion
They need to feel superior somehow. Got nothing else going for them.
Because it invites people to not think for themselves and make pointless posts any time they have a simple question they could have already known the answer to in less time than it took to make a damn post. Is it so wrong to expect just a modicum of intelligence from the people you'll be interacting with every day(you're here forever)?
/a/ has very fragile self esteem. They can only survive by pretending others are below them.
Greatest fight in history that you'll never see.
It's been said time and time again. If you'd just lurk you'd know this though, likewise for the guy asking for the show's name.
Reverse image search's first fucking result is Katanagatari.
>i cant imagine a more perfect conclusion
how about one that made sense?
Look after the ED, it's one of the next ep previews. Pretty early on, it's for the ep where the insect squad gets annihilated.
I ain't pretending, this person >>100317135 is below me
I was really into it at the time and didn't think they would put anything to important in the previews.
What's the matter, too deep for you?
So in the end Togame was basically the same as Manga NHK Misaki ;_;
Nope, nothing could have prepared me for that death. Fuck everything.
She's evil. And a cunt.
>not posting the .gif and the closing narration
Three seconds of my time. He could have used that time to search, but what does it matter? It's just as simple to say it and move on.
I suppose it really is that simple though some would prefer to ascribe some deeper meaning. In any event I'm not going to derail this thread any further. Think what you will, I was glad I could help the guy out.
Probably 4. Nanami's fight was legitimately scary and I liked her since the beginning. I'm starting to think 12 might be better though. One of my favorite death scenes.
>but what does it matter?
You didn't even read the posts you just quoted.
>It's just as simple to say it and move on.
"If you give a man a fish he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish you do him a good turn."
Using percentages what is togame's cunt to love ratio? Id say something like 60% cunt and 40% love
And that's why they're such great characters.
Mostly cunt, she seems to come around just a bit near the end.
enjoying nonsensical crap won't make you any smarter
last episode is crap:
>i manipulated myself into loving you, but i really didn't, i planned to have you killed, but i loved you
>i want to die, but instead of killing myself i'll kill everyone related to togame's death, but i don't want to avenge her, because even if i loved her, i didn't
there are a shitload of inconsistencies.
But what if I like evil cunts?
>tfw you will never wrap yourself in her beautiful white hair
That moment in your image could've been interpreted in so many ways. TOgame said that she never loved swordguy, but notice that she had her snake eyes up (which shows up everytime she's scheming), which could mean that she was lying about not loving him so that swordguy could break through and finally become a human with his own sense of direction.
That's fine. I like evil cunts, too. A lot more than I care to admit.
Wow, your reading comprehension is impressively bad.
Are you retarded?
prove me wrong, faggot
I can't believe that somebody can misinterpret the ending this bad.
You are scary wrong with that quote
I'm afraid any sort of explanation wouldn't be able to pierce that thick skull of yours. I'd rather not waste my time speaking to neanderthals.
>A proverbial saying which suggests that the ability to work is of greater benefit than a one-off handout.
amazing comeback, congrats
i did not misinterpret a thing, you just happen to have a different take on the ending. prove me wrong, objectively
>human emotions can't be complicated and people can't have conflicting feelings
It's hard to prove you wrong when your original take is so off. It's like trying to explain to someone that 7 + Purple != Seto no Hanayome.
The ones who failed at revenge...
The ones who failed at their goals...
The ones who fell before achieving their aspirations...
The ones who did not succeed...
The ones who lost...
The ones who stumbled...
The ones who rotted...
The ones who fought with all their might, sacrificed everything,
just to have their work be for naught, yielding fruitless results,
who died unfairly, or perhaps illogically,
tragically, without face, full of regrets...
The story which offers a happy future for them,
filled with hopes and dreams...
"Katanagatari" quietly lowers its curtains here.
Despite being a rerun Katanagatari had the 2nd highest ratings in the Noitamina timeslot since Tatami Galaxy.
The greatest fight you'll never see animated.
He was one of my favorites. I wish we could have seen his and the Maniwani's backstories, and the lack of femdom doujins with him and Hiteihime greatly upsets me.
Episode 10. Followed by 6 and 4.
4 because I liked the Insect Squad, not because I liked what happened to them though.
Just for shits and giggles he'll make it a ninja village SoL right before the entire group is wiped out.
why was this show so depressing?
celebration of failure
A few hundred years ago the Maniwa were weak and almost on the verge of extinction, the Aioi (Emonzaemon's clan) dominated the scene.
The sole leader, Maniwa Houou, decides to elect 12 Maniwa leaders instead of just 1, so everyone in the clan tried for those positions. In the first book, you get Maniwa Komori, Maniwa Chouchou, Maniwa Kuizame and Maniwa Shirasagi. Maniwa Houou appointed Maniwa Kyouken (she was using a loli body back then) to help him appoint 12 leaders.
Komori's story is a murder mystery and he acts like a hardboiled detective. Chouchou is big, fat and fights with fists but he becomes a leader after crossing swords (fists) with the first Kyoutouryuu head, Yasuri Katsue(?). Maniwa Kuizame is a lovely looking girl back then and shed tears for everyone she kills, except for that fact that she's a murderous psychopath. Shirasagi is full of mysteries as always but he never fails his mission and is the only Maniwa to date that dies of old age. Kyouken hates him since Shirasagi is a huge troll.
I don't really get what's so confusing about Togame's ending. She initially wanted to just use Shichika, but through their adventures she grew to love him.
She accepted that love and used to to push forward her goals. But as she had a complex where her life centered around getting revenge for her father, she had to complete her goals even if it meant forsaking her love for Shichika. This is what the first maniwani found so disgusting about her and is pretty fundamental to her character, . It's also why she was happy with her death, because it meant she didn't have to betray Shichika.
>It's also why she was happy with her death, because it meant she didn't have to betray Shichika.
She wasn't going to betray him. She said all those things to free him, so that he wouldn't go ahead and take revenge for her death as it would be a dangerous task to complete.
Shichika as a complete sword, able to make his own decisions decides to go against what Togame wanted and do something that he wanted to do himself, which was avenge her death.
It's probably more in Togame's character to keep Shichika alive. Killing him didn't really provide much benefit. So you're probably right, but even in the case she was telling the truth, it's reasonable from her character.
I like him/her.
Would it make you feel better if I told you Houou wears his face for the entire series?
I loved Togame's death the most because it fucking came out of nowhere.
I mean normally in anime during a scene like that someone blocks the attack then says some cool shit to the person who delivered it before killing them.
But here? Nope. He rips her a new one and she dies allowing for best girl Hitei to win in the end.
Oh the amount of tears I was able to drink that day as a Hiteifag were legendary.
Obviously they are inconsistencies with Togame and her final speech because she herself was struggling with her raison d'etre and this new persona of the kinder, warmer her that she had allowed to grow over the past year, something that she desperately wanted to make fit but couldn't. I mean twenty years of methodial planning, of being one way verses one year of trying to be someone or something different? I suspect the whole thing was just the writer's way of poking fun at the whole 'changing for the sake of/because of love' thing that seems to resurface in stories like these. Togame wanted to change but couldn't, hence why she ties herself up in knots explaining herself to Shichika, who, it is worth pointing out, was angry at her because of it. I think he said it was stupid because in the end she was just hurting herself the most by forcing herself to live in such a convulted fashion.
Also when did he ever say he didn't love her? 'Cos all I heard during that final ep was him reaffirming his feelings for her. He even makes a point of explaining his sentiment for Togame in front of the man who executed her.
And maybe it would have been more straightforward for Shichika to off himself buuuut that would discount the whole idea of him being a weapon in the first place. A weapon shouldn't break itself, though it can choose the objectives that can lead to its destruction. And Shichika did have the weird ability to hear various sword and make remarks about how they chose their owners and stuff so in this world it's not as out there as it seems.
