Remember a couple of years ago, when there where half as much anime coming out each season, but each one was twice as much worth watching?
Remember when you could just pick up an anime because you knew the subgroup who was doing it had taste?
Both of those things never happened.
I don't think I can say I remember that. Because subgroups usually have shit taste.
No, I don't remember either of those.
No I don't.
i'm taking a wild guess: none of you have been here for longer than 5 years.
No, but I remember when Crunchyroll didn't have a monopoly on fansubbing and didn't kill off fansubbing in 2014.
This wasn't happening in 2008 or 9.
>a couple of years ago
....I think your definition of 'couple' is messed up.
ano natsu matteru, another, rinne no lagrange etc. no it was way shittier than this season.
the only good show was nichibros
remember when any given anime had a billion sub groups subbing it?
Remember when every season we had three Cowboy Bebop shows and 2 Serial Experiments Lain series and also an Akira movie came out every year and KyoAni didn't exist?
Oh man us oldfags, right? Watching anime in 2011. I still remember that golden age of anime. Oh how I wish it was still 2011, back when anime still had meaning.
>each one was twice as much worth watching
Yeah, I know man! It's not like it was exactly the same except some shows just didn't get subs.
>Remember when you could just pick up an anime because you knew the subgroup who was doing it had taste?
that only applied to gg.
And only the good shows were getting billions of subs and barely anyone did anyone else.
Fucking dark days it was.
>look guise I'm epik oldfag check my hot opinions!
They were shitting out just as many anime in 2009, with plenty of awful ones. For a newfag like you, 2009 might be some kind of "good ole days", but for most of us 2009 is just more or less the same shit in a different year.
A couple of years ago, anime was worse than it is now. What are you talking about?
>because you knew the subgroup who was doing it had taste?
>ever having taste
>implying they don't pick up the shows that'll get them the most attention and downloads
Remember when a week for subs was considered a reasonable speed?
>Remember a couple of years ago, when there where half as much anime coming out each season, but each one was twice as much worth watching?
No, I actually don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Two years ago was the season where Kill Me Baby was the best show airing. Subgroups were roughly in the same state as they are now, except gg subbed more things.
That's not the word you're looking for.
That never happened, also the 90s and 80s (the time where there was half or less shit airing) was filled with just as much shit as the present.
There were also shit OVAs that'd make superman 64 the example of quality control being pumped out to the point that hey almost crashed the industry
what anime is this semen demon from
Boku no tramp god
The first thing, no.
But I used to watch anything Shinsen subbed. Back when, you know. They had that good translator and didn't start sucking and die.
Weren't they the ones who dropped Gintama for D.Gray-man? Fuck their shitty taste.
And then we had to deal with Rumbel releasing Gintama once every two months. I think shs started dying around then anyway.
No. I even hated the years 2008 - 2010 regarding anime. I barely enjoyed anything that was airing there. Maybe one series each season that didn't turn out to be boring or to be something I hate. The years before that were good but wouldn't call them better than today. I actually enjoy anime nowadays the most. 2001 - ~2004 wasn't my thing either though.
>Remember the good old days
>a couple of years ago
You must be underage.
