So guys I was always wondering about how Rin summoned Archer. She wanted to summon a saber class servant but summoned Archer by accident. So what relic was she going to use to summon the saber class servant? Did she even have a relic to begin with? I know Archers relic was the pendant but was accidental, and yes I read the visual novel but it never explained this.
She used the pendant the only person that could summon was Archer, She was trying to use the Saber title as a catalyst (same way the assassin works ). Normally that would grant her a random Saber whose personality is similar to her own, but it was the pendant itself that ended up being the catalyst instead, which was connecnted to Archer, and the best class to suit him was the archer class which was free.
>and the best class to suit him was the archer class which was free.
Would Rin have succeeded and summoned a servant in the saber class if the archer class was already occupied? Say, if Illya summoned Hercles as Archer.
I'd imagine Archers next most likely class would be Caster, it's possible that he doesn't even qualify for saber class
Keep in mind that Emiya can be summoned in most classes. Outside of Rider, he could potential fall anywhere. Her using the pendant almost guarantees him getting summoned.
not as Assassin though
What I want to know is how 17 year old Shirou managed to grow a head and a half taller in the next few years of his life. Archer is fucking enormous compared to him.
Actually this applies to Waver too. Do males in Type-moon just have very late growth spurts or something?
He should be able to handle a lance very well.
Why was it that the pendant could only summon EMIYA?
He doesn't have the stat requirements for the three knight classes.
>t most likely class would be Caster, it's possible that he doesn't even qualify for saber class
I thought the caster class required A rank magic or above, something I felt was a rather arbitrary limitation.
I heard that the use of magic made them grow
It's somthing akin to using avalon to summon a random saber/
>Doesn't have the stats for knight classes
>17 year old Shirou managed to grow a head and a half taller in the next few years of his life. Archer is fucking enormous compared to him.
>Actually this applies to Waver too. Do males in Type-moon just have very late growth spurts or something?
It's the magic the better the mage the taller you get.
Read the fucking visual novel. It was the pendant that Rin had left with Shirou when he was killed by Lancer but she revived him. He kept it. So he still had it as Emiya. As such, the pendant was an artifact of Emiya.
she used it to heal shirou
>Gilles de rais
Didn't Shirou's original method of practicing magic limit his health or some shit?
It would make sense that once he actually stopped acting retarded he would grow even more
Because Shirou picked up the pendant after Rin used it to save his life. He kept it with him meaning that the pendant had a connection with the heroic spirit EMIYA.
Now an interesting question, what would happen if Tokyomi used the pendant as a catalyst in the 4th grail war? Would it still have been connected to EMIYA?
Shirou's magic circuits were fucked. He was a magnificent specimen of a man physically-wise.
But you would think that ramming metal rods through his spine would limit his growth?
The whole concept of being able to summon heroes from further down the timeline just opens a huge can of worms though. Since there are an infinite number of possibilities that the future holds that means you can basically summon a Heroic Spirit version of any person in the present since in one of the infinite possibilities of the continuum shift he or she could've become a revered hero.
nasu said that the number of future heroic spirits is extremely small because don't respect individuals as much as they used to
With infinite possibilities, would it be possible to use any random object as an artifact to summon a servant? Could an artifact even be linked to more than one heroic spirit, given that in an alternate timeline someone else used that artifact?
Archers usually have terrible stats
Why did Archer never just point out what a threat Kotomine is?
You do realize that the 3 knight classes are
Would she have succeeded in using the Pendant as intended if she hadn't forgotten to reset her clocks and therefor been able to to the ritual at her optimum?
Maybe he comes from a route where Kotomine gets defeated before he encounters Shirou? He also claims that his memory is hazy due to Rin's summoning.
Who knows. If I were to guess I'd say that she would either succeed and summon a saber class servant or she would summon EMIYA without destroying her own house, because he was linked to the pendant all along.
because he comes from Kotomine route.
Archer is so pure.
I'm not so sure. He was known to administer the jackhammer in his younger years, after all.
And, at the same time, he also lost his virginity in a a three way.
And at the same time, he lost his virginity in a gay three way.
There. All bases covered, I think.
Naw, that was purely for giving Seibah the energy to beat Basaka. Same goes for all others administered the jackhammer. EMIYA only gives the dick to those in need, a true hero indeed.
Seeing as how Shirou, Kotomine AND Waver all have had late growth spurts, I think it has something to do with their magecraft.
Od is kinda like ki and stuff from martial arts, I don't find it too weird that having a greater amount of it than a normal person would cause changes. White hair seems to be a sign of intense magical overuse or internal abnormality as well, like with homunculi, Caren and Archer.
And tainted Sakura.
Can Kotomine's even be classified as 'spurts'? Fucker never stopped growing.
Shit, that one was the most obvious too. How did I forget.
Don't underestimate the power of mapo tofu.
It's anime in general. Taller = authority so they'll generally have teenage characters be shorter than adults, even if they really should have finished ot nearly finished growing. Live action does this as well by casting taller actors and actresses in adult roles and a shorter actor or actress for a teenage role, even though they're all really adults.
can gilgamesh be corrupted by Angra Mainyu or is he too much of an egotist?
I think Sakura mentions that she was unable to manipulate Gil so he just used his massive powerlevel to make AM grow
There's a theory that characters with Divinity can resist the corruption. Like how Berserker was taken, but he still thought he was fighting FOR Ilya.
>17 year old Shirou
Please leave and don't come back until you've read the VN.
>second year of highschool
They are all stupid and had to repeat a year. Isn't that rare.
Supposedly, they're all graduating, so...
No no it's caused by a wonder of the universe.
But how can Shirou be 18 if Sakura is one year younger than Shirou. If Sakura is also 18?
Doesn't that mean that Shirou is at best 19?
And does that make Rin almost 20?
If that's the case though then Illya should be approaching christmas cake status.
Perhaps 'year' isn't being used in reference to 365 days. They could be saying that they are a year apart when they are ten months apart, possibly.
I don't know.
Even Nasu doesn't know how old Shirou is. His birth date is lost to the flames of angra mainyu.
It was practically suicidal because he already had a perfectly good set of circuits, but it's implied he instinctively evaded the real dangers of the process (where damage to his nervous system was actually the least that could happen) for the years he spent practicing magecraft. Part of it was related to his breathing style, though.
Where did this translation come from? Is it just an image edit, or is there a hope of us playing this game in English some day?
It is an image edit using a translation from Beast Lair.
