Why isn't she popular?

Because they only update the manga once every six years now

she's smelly

Because if she were, there'd be no story to tell.

lets face it: social anxiety can provide only as much jokes.
I wanted the manga to focus more on real development instead of humour, but I dont think the mangaka is capable of making an interesting romance/friendship story similar to welcome-to-the-nhk, so its better for it to die.

It's not meant to be about her developing as a character. IN that sense it's a pretty realistic depiction of how many social outcast lives their life. How can a shut in Otaku empathize with a character who is able to grow and overcome her social anxiety?

I want to bully tomoko

I want to to kick her, punch her and make fun of how ugly she is

I want to make her life hell.

She needs to get bullied

She is the prefect target

I want some bullying doujins

Her stupid "a bloo bloo why me" personality makes her the perfect tagret to bully.

Please Japan.

Wrong.

Tomoko is not a perfect target for bullying as she as she's antisocial.

You don't bully loners, you bully dorks who have a small group of friends or those who are slightly weird but still outgoing.

There's no soul to crush in a loner.

Tomoko's a girl, dude. There is absolutely nothing realistic about Watamote's depiction. The first few panels has her denying her awkwardness because of a couple interactions with boys in middle school. A real girl would have her obsessing over how awkward she is because she "only" had X amount of boyfriends.

>he has a beautiful, young wife loving him
Are you being retarded on purpose or the end just flew over your head?

In case the ending when over your head, from the novel:
"Um, okay, it's finished." She tore out the page and handed it to me.
The only light came from the moon shining in through the window.
Lying face up, I forced my eyes into focus to read the contents of the
paper.
The purpose of the Hitojichi Kokankai:
Members will exchange hostages with each other; you offer your
lives to each other, as hostages. In other words, it means, "if you die, I
die, too, dammit!" If we agree to this, then we will be unable to act, like
nuclear powers, glaring at each other during a cold war. And even if we
want to die, we will be unable to.
If the situation turns into, "I don't care, even if you die," then this
group's system has failed. Let's make sure that it doesn't become that
way!
President of the N.H.K., Misaki Nakahara
Name: ______ Member #: ______
"Look, sign it quickly."
I took the ballpoint pen from her. I was troubled by it for a while. In
the end, nothing at all had been resolved. It wasn't as though anything
had changed.
"Let's look forward in life"? Are you an idiot?! We have dreams, so we're
okay? We don't have any kind of dreams!

I wondered if I would have to go on living every day, whispering to
myself, I can't take it anymore.
Is that okay? What do you think?
I worried back and forth about this for a little bit; in the end, though,
I just signed the contract.
Meanwhile, Misaki, shutting the contract back in her bag, grabbed
my shoulders and pulled me close. Our eyes met at point-blank range.
And then, in a loud voice, she declared, "Welcome to the N.H.K.!"
Her overly enthusiastic expression struck a humorous chord.
Fending off a fit of stifled laughter, I thought to myself, I don't know how
long this can continue, hut I'll try as hard as I can.
I made this small decision.
N.H.K. Member #1, Satou Tatsuhiro, had been born.

>Tomoko's a girl, dude. There is absolutely nothing realistic about Watamote's depiction.

Because you know so much about how does a head of a socially retarded girl work, right?
>>
>>100301487
There isn't a single social environment in the developed world that would enable somebody like Tomoko in a high school setting. Countless men would offer themselves to a girl like her -- somebody who is so desperate for the slightest glimmer of attention. She's not picky either so it could be any guy with manageable lip service.

The way she's treated in the manga simply doesn't happen in real life. Tomoko is a girl just because the make-believe is more interesting.
>>
Because she doesn't have someone to guide her in the right way. She's also a terrible person.

Unlike the guy from Welcome to the NHK who had the cute girl who wanted to change his ways. I don't know about the ending tho, I was bored out of my mind watching that thing
