Got done watching the first episode of Attack on Titan. Is it even possible to be older than 14 and liking this? What a cliché-riddled first episode that was filled with anime tropes. Nothing about it stood out save the setting and brutality. What's with everyone going crazy about this show?
Also, everyone's constantly screaming.
You are watching a cartoon man.
The first episode was the best one.
Plenty of good cartoons out there. If the brutality warrants an adult rating, then atleast write the story in a more mature manner aswell. Every single character introduced was just a stereotype.
It's aimed at teens.
The characterisation never gets much better, at least not within the limits covered in the show.
Alright, then I atleast know it's not something for me. Had a friend told me this was the best anime he had seen. Opinions definitely not shared with me.
What did you expected from Naruto 2?
Believe it or not that is actually the best episode of this tripe.
It's entertaining enough to keep reading it but no it's not that great.
Also "... is the best ever" is a sentence I dislike.
What cliches? What are the anime tropes? What is this, another circlejerk of SnK hate with no backbone whatsoever? Impossible.
Young boy wants to see the world and become a soldier but his family won't allow him. He's also very open-minded.
In every other scene, there's a forced scene of people crying for no reason. If they've been living like this for 100 years, surely they would've learnt to deal with loss better than start crying every time the word Titan is mentioned.
The dialouge itself is so predictable and boring, I could've had it alt-tabbed and not missed shit.
>another circlejerk of SnK hate with no backbone whatsoever?
I don't usually come to /a/ so I have no idea what you're talking about, but if this show is disliked, then I would definitely understand why.
it's certainly not the best.
Although i hated the first episode too, i gave it another chance later on and it grew on me i guess
Good bye then and don't come back.
Tell your friend he has shit taste
The manga is a little better if you can overlook the artwork.
Yeah I'm definitely not as into the show now that I'm on ep 7 but I'd reccomend watching the first ep WITHOUT the introduction to completely fucking ruin it.
>Young boy wants to see the world and become a soldier but his family won't allow him. He's also very open-minded.
Actually, Eren may be one of the most original characters in the show. Ep 6 made me like him.
>In every other scene, there's a forced scene of people crying for no reason. If they've been living like this for 100 years, surely they would've learnt to deal with loss better than start crying every time the word Titan is mentioned.
That was forced, but it wasn't that bad. Just to get you in the mood.
Anyway, you should continue to ep 7, shit gets pretty good.
Drop it now OP. The direction only worked for Death Note, with SnK it just makes everything more ridiculous and cringeworthy.
You guys are hipsters. It's not like anime ever gets better than this, stop acting like it's not always melodramatic and lacking in plot structure every single fucking time.
>Young boy wants to see the world and become a soldier but his family won't allow him.
Well, it's the opposite from your typical "I'm just an average highschool boy who wants to live an average boring life but a loads of beautiful women clinging to my legs rubbing their pussy juices all over me won't let me"-protagonist.
I just want to say Sasha Blouse's presence as a background character is intolerable.
No I don't give a shit if she dies, it won't even be minorly sad like Dobby's death. And I don't give a shit about her past or her character development.
>Eren may be one of the most original characters in the show.
>Eren may be one of the most original characters in the show.
People actually believe this bullshit?
Boy you sure showed them with that macro image.
I don't even
>/a/ hates SnK now
What happened, /v/?
Stop watching the show.
Only read the manga chapters where Monkey Trouble makes an appearance.
Yep. He's a nice guy and he's obsessed with his titan slaughtering dream. Some people would call him edgy, but I think his anger at titans is justified if you look at what these bastards do.
He's not the most original character of the show, but to me he's the most outstanding.
He's literally Spiderman and Goku at the same time.
>watch first ova today
>mfw this hanji bitch wanting to carelessly throw away lives
>at about the same time I'm yelling at how much of a bitch hanji is, the levi guy comes in and says the same thing
>levi's also fucking competent as fuck
I'd probably watch this anime just to see levi wreck shit
>Actually, Eren may be one of the most original characters in the show
Even if that were true that isn't really saying much
The anime sucks, the manga is ok
When did /a/ stop having fun
go to watch the comic
Monkey Trouble thread
>they've been living like this for 100 years
Without titan attacks. Therefore at least a full generation has not experienced loss like they do throughout the series. Think about stuff, eh?
Oh wow they look exactly the same and seem really annoying so I got them confused.
Personally I blame the studio. Such scenes were bearable in the manga but the anime's style was too "loud" and showy to keep them out of cheese territory.
Don't forget about Shinji Ikari, Naruto, Gon, Ichigo, Edward Elric, Shō Fukamachi etc.
>Oh my god Eren you're so cool holy sheeeeeit
How long until this guy. He's legitimately the only interesting character in the series.
oh boy we are off a good start
if you can stand the anime, read the manga
The anime exaggerated a shit tons of crap, including characterization, which sadly includes Hanji because Araki can't subtlety
If you can't stand the initial chicken scratch, just drop the whole thing alltogether
My favorite Levi scene was where he becam sanic.
Please refer to the guide next time.
The only acceptable way to like this show is to consider it a visual analysis of human fear by disassembling the show into an interplay of symbolism.
If you are not a massive and pretentious hipster, or are only a regular hipster, then you might not like it and find it cliched.
Eh it's not too difficult to understand, it's really not that terrible unless you're just looking for things to complain about. After episode 11 It's starting to feel a little like a mech show though.
pls no bully
Trost was unbearable, so was the finalee
Can't believe they cut down so much on training arc either
The only thing that annoy me would be the story tries to delay the mystery element and possible the mystery itself. Cause whatever the secret behind the titan church and the police people it is going to be stupid to some degree
>hivemind doing everything it can to take the core aspect of a piece of art and devalue it
This is like complaining that the statue of David has a small penis.
it has huge hands though
>everyone's constantly screaming.
Fucking this. The one episode where the MC trio were being threatened with a cannon was the fucking most unbearable thing I've ever seen, because of THAT ONE BEARDED GUY WHO WAS CONSTANTLY SCREAMING AND STARING WITH DEAD EYES BECAUSE THAT'S SUPPOSED TO MAKE ME FEEL TENSION OR DRAMA OR SOMETHING.
I stopped watching the show for a good month or so after that.
I want Mikasa to throw her off the roof.
>trying way too hard to fit in
