Is anyone else watching the new Valvrave?
More shows need people proposing to Dio
Why is eruerufu so based?
Valvrave was better than this shit.
Don't insult Valvrave
Bad voice cast, bad designs, lame plot. Probably dropping.
Is valrave worth watching? The end sounds mad trolls.
>Is valrave worth watching?
No. Not at all.
I am, but it is not even half good and fun as Valvrave.
It's sorta sad that /a/ seems to believe Sunrise started making mecha shows with VVV now.
Too boring dropped at episode 1.
Not enough cute girls
Depends how much you love Sunrise being Sunrise
I had a lot of fun with it but for everyone who loves it another will hate it
>ALL DIS AUTISM
The designs are so generic and everything feels way too uninspired even for anime. Dropped, not a single character can even hook me.
It's more it's a continuation of the VVV trainwreak
I'll give it a third episode, but so far I'm feeling... meh, about this
Why are you not on /m/?
>Depends how much you love Sunrise being Sunrise
Oh look another wannabe Sunrise expert
You mean Okuichi being Okuichi by which I mean shit.
>Depends how much you love Sunrise being Sunrise
But Sunrise doesn't kill princesses!
There's nothing "trainwreck" about it, it's pretty straightforward so far.
And why are people seriously so new to anime that they think all Sunrise Mecha = Valvrave?
No it's not. Do you have any idea what you're talking about or do you like spouting the same garbage VVVfags spout?
Because they cannot move the fuck on. Now every fucking Sunrise mecha anime is gonna be compared to Valvrave because it's fanbase aren't mecha savy.
Someone should make a chart of all the different Sunrise substudios and their projects or most recent ones at least.
no, fuck ypou, I compared with VVV cause the story is horrible, ass pulled, and cause some parts of the op remind me to much of L-Elf and Haruto
What's even good in the Mecha genre?
It seems like there's a million gundam series, other than Unicorn they sound like they aren't worth watching.
Then there's Code Geass which is the only Mecha I've really enjoyed.
I also watched all of Macross but thought it was really mediocre.
I just want Studio 8 to make Horizon S3 and AW S2
G Wing is good IMO
Thats only good for fights it's shit for everything else.
>It seems like there's a million gundam series, other than Unicorn they sound like they aren't worth watching.
>Then there's Code Geass which is the only Mecha I've really enjoyed.
The trolls and haters are buttmad VVVfags who are mad this show isn't as retarded and convoluted as VVV because those are the kinds of shows that appeal to their autistic selves.
>What's even good in the Mecha genre?
>It seems like there's a million gundam series, other than Unicorn they sound like they aren't worth watching.
>Then there's Code Geass which is the only Mecha I've really enjoyed.
Most VVV fags probably weren't even here for Geass
Thats smells like a recommendation post
Niwaka please go and stay go
Your b8 8nt gr8 m8
>Most VVV fags probably weren't even here for Geass
just use hte 11s test
Watch 0079, Zeta, Ideon, Votoms, Unicorn, Getter Robo, Giant Robo, Big 0 and some more and then tell me that again, you fucking subhuman.
Truly, Geass is to blame for a lot of shit that's going on atm.
And no, SEED and SEED Destiny are not good. If you like them you need to be gassed.
>the same garbage VVVfags spout?
>implying VVVfags consider Valvrave a trainwrek
Nobunaga the Fool is the new Vulvarape, Buddy Complex is only mediocre not as painfully bad.
>this show isn't as retarded and convoluted as VVV
Someone came back in time, with a mech that has problems catching up with someone on a bicycle let alone the tracking ability necessary to hit something moving at that speed, in order to kill a highschool kid, who was friends with a girl who also happened to be from the future. The kid then gets thrown into the future, because the girl tells him Dio is waiting, he awakes in a cockpit that apparently had a dead pilot in but his corpse magically vanished, has to be told a million times to say connect with Dio before he actually says it, and it ends with the girl who sent him into the future being revealed to be an enemy pilot.
>Nobunaga the Fool
That's just the new Kawamori, you won't be getting a new Valvrave until Okoichi works on another show.
Sorry, too busy with superior mecha show.
It's fairly generic and even old fashioned too I feel, I've still liked quite a bit of it. Everythings looked quite nice and well produced, first two episodes were pretty heavy on action and well paced enough too (I did watch both episodes back to back, so that might've given me a different impression). I'd like to know more about the Zogilia side's characters, which next episode will probably cover a bit, although there's still a lot to cover on MC's side too.
Not my favorite of the new season, but I think I'm sticking with it, unless it pulls some retarded twists and gets dumb. But it might just be 1 cour, so I don't think there's any time for asspulls.
Now compare this relatively simple story to Valvrave.
Hmm. Just from reading a few of these, they sound similar to TTGL which I guess is another mecha anime I watched and thought was fairly mediocre.
Too much shouting attack names, random magic combinations, belief translates into power, etc. all of that really stupid junk that reminds me of 80s anime.
It kind of reminded me of like a weaker Vandread. Hmm, I guess I've seen more mecha than I thought.
Geass had a proactive protagonist and focused much more on the politics/planning aspect rather than retarded robot on robot fights. It also gave the characters time to shine and let us care about their daily lives which were interesting.
I guess it's popular to hate Geass now, but back in like 2006 or so I remember the all hail brittania threads.
Anyways, I basically concluded that Geass is probably the only mecha series to have interesting characters with interesting relationships.
Unfortunately, G-Wing was airing on cartoon network back in the day (1998?) and it's the main reason I've avoided Gundam shows. Emo boys constantly crying and 1 dimensional characters.
>there's a million gundam series
Not even close.
>Someone came back in time
>with a mech that has problems catching up with someone on a bicycle let alone the tracking ability necessary to hit something moving at that speed
He said himself is tracking got broken.
>in order to kill a highschool kid, who was friends with a girl who also happened to be from the future.
"Guy tries to get revenge on someone else by killing him in the past" is a standard plotline.
>The kid then gets thrown into the future, because the girl tells him Dio is waiting
You're just saying things to fill up space. She already knows they're a Nice Coupling.
>he awakes in a cockpit that apparently had a dead pilot in but his corpse magically vanished,
The pilot was outside, dead under rubble. He obviously didn't get inside the cockpit yet. This was really obvious.
>has to be told a million times to say connect with Dio before he actually says it
That's not a convoluted plot, that's a realistically confused MC.
>and it ends with the girl who sent him into the future being revealed to be an enemy pilot.
Which is a standard development.
>2D/3D mecha fights
>The soldiers attack and defend as squadrons.
>Sugita voices a good guy pilot.
I'm starting to find it interesting. What's going to be more irritating in the future is that people are going to compare future Sunrise mecha anime to Valvrave and hate it just because of how bad and exacerbating the conclusion of Valvrave was or because the fact that people have a limited reach when it comes to mecha anime.
>Amuro not being proactive
>Geass having good develop even though S2 shat over everything
Nigga, what are you smoking?
First two episodes?
The Hitler Youth are infiltrating a school that has a secret military base beneath it, they succeed in capturing the base as their Nazi empire invades the whole country, which is made of modules in a dyson sphere around a very small artificial sun, however one of the researchers in the base jettisons the mech, MC gets in it after the apparent death of his love interest and slaughters the invaders wholesale, when he gets out he has a conversation with the Hitler youth before getting stabbed, where it's revealed he's become an immortal body jacking vampire. He then spends an episode killing all the invaders with a body jacked enemy before it's revealed at the end that his love interest survived.
It's nothing like valvrave
You're just letting on how uneducated you are about mecha more and more.
>Is valrave worth watching?
It was awesome to watch it with /a/, but it's a trainwreck of bad writing
Remind me of SRW so much. I'll just imagine this as a scraped romantic subplot for Ryuusei and that suffering ojou from SRW Z/
Fake oldfag alert.
We've got an "expert" among us!
Yeah, it feels more like a homo version of Zegapain.
I guess we got a new batch of newfags this year?
>anon hasn't even watched Big Robo
And the only super robot there is Getter, so no they're not like TTGL. And stop spacing out every sentence, it's obnoxious.
Geass S2 got almost the same reaction that VVV had, as in a lot of complaining about retarded asspulls and a confused plot direction. Lots of memes and OC doesn't count as praise.
>their daily lives
Out. Mecha is not for you.
There's nothing homo about it so far either, just the terminology used.
I know my homo anime and the character interaction was really not homo.
I though Full Metal Panic! was a pretty good mecha anime (although not as much mecha as other animes out there)
Judging by you taste, you'll probably like SEED and DESTINY
Good, you fit in now! Now go in the sadpanda thread to talk about all them doujins and dem oppais!
Would any of you people want to eat a candy bar that was sitting inside Lee's pilot suit?
Better than 24 if the second cour was as shitty as Valvrave's.
What's with the Vulvaraves comparisons? Different writers, different Sunrise studio. If anything the premise it's more like Gundam.
>Studio 8: Established around 1995, it is also known as the "Moe branch" for producing several anime series with cute girls as protagonists. Notable works include My-HiME, My-Otome, Idolmaster: Xenoglossia, The Girl Who Leapt Through Space, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Accel World and Love Live!.
>Hirayama (producer) said in the interview that Studio 8 seemed to project "the bishoujo" image, but they actually wanted to challenge different types of anime. Robot anime seemed to be the right fit because the genre's different from previous projects like Love Live/Horizon and they have the right staff for it.
>The pairing concept comes from that living in this world is better/easier with partner or communities, especially after the earthquake. They also didn't want to use boy/girl because people would auto-associate that with romance, which there will be, but staff don't want that direction to be the sole focus as this is a more "traditional mecha with friendship, endeavor, and victory". He didn't mention why there are no girls pairing, but just that guy pairing fit their goals better.
>He also mentioned close combat will be hand drawn, but long flights and high speed movement will be CG.
Just a recent example of why more isn't always better. Not actually comparing the content to Valvrave. You could use EVOL as an example too if you want.
Last half was shitty of second season, the first episodes were as "good" as the S1.
>What's with the Vulvaraves comparisons?
Trolls. I can't believe /a/ thinks VVVfags are shitting on other threads when the main problem of VVV threads was people comparing it with other anime.
Am I the only one loving how "thicks" the characters look? All I see is people bitching they are not anorexic sticks.
Thigh characters thick dicks
>They also didn't want to use boy/girl because people would auto-associate that with romance
As if boy/boy wouldn't be associated as fujoshit, great job 8.
Valvrave is obviously the first mecha ever made and the first Sunrise show ever
Because it's Sugita. You'd never refuse something from Sugita, would you?
>Boy/Boy: FUCKING FUJOSHIT
>Girl/Girl: FUCKING YURISHIT/MOESHIT
>Boy/Girl: STOP DEFILING MY WAIFU
It's like you can't have two male characters together on screen without everybody crying gay
Valvrave invented Real Robot and space vampires.
I'd like a Boy/Girl mecha setup were the main lead aren't in a romantic relationship but just a mutual partenership, but you fags would cry NTR as soon the main girl would show interest in another person that is not the lead, or just ship them together.
Also, I thought Mechafags loved some good old homolust, what's going on?
They seem quite larger and bulkier than usual, especially the eyes.
Not so much that it looks mostly bad like in Barristers' female characters, though, which is good
They would also be furious that they don't confess/kiss/hold hands at the end too, because they would be shipping them the ENTIRE time.
There's really no winning with it, I hope 8 pulls through and shows some real tomodaching.
She was an alien.
10 years ago she wasn't, and she was killed by the aliens.
I'm surprised their dicks didn't connect
>All those pictures of the scientist chick.
Lee is going to die halfway through.
I would not refuse a Snickers.
Both are original Sunrise mecha anime and Valvrave ended just a few weeks ago.
You mean a NotSnickers
I swear, the OP is frame-by-frame a copy of Gundam SEED's.
You mean a Complex
>Lee is going to die halfway through.
He's literally chugging death flags at this very moment. He's going to end up like pre-SEED Destiny Mwu, Lockon, Woolf, the Dobermans from MJP, and Jewbro.
I started choking on the snickers bar I was coincidentally eating while watching this.
>They're going to bond over a Complex bar
>that's why it's called Buddy Complex
We "mechafags" love bromance not straight up faggotry.
Also Fubuki is best boy/girl mech
Two episodes in and it's already better than Valvrave. At least they didn't kill off worst girl then bring her back in the first episode.
No, I mean a Snickers.
But Saki didn't die.
>dat bridge bunnies
She was killed, though.
Well, it IS secondary-guy's-name-I-can't-remember's room, so it's only natural there's some fap material in there.
>DO IT SAY CONNECT WITH DIO
>SAY CONNECT WITH DIO
>DO YOU KNOW HINA FROM JAPAN
for fuck sake Aoba you stupid fuck say connect with Dio jesus, I think he's pissed me off already with that stupid shit. Lets see him redeem himself.
She can't die even if she is killed.
Well yeah. The guy is confused as fuck. He's just been sent through time, the person who took him just disappeared, he's in some mecha now in the pilot seat and then he meets the person called Dio.
>Hina is the enemy
Amazing twist, as expected from the masters at Sunrise
I dunno, I thought he was ok.
Keep in mind he didn't have the full perspective of the thing like we did, he just time-jumped and was in a rather confusing situation
>COUPLE WITH THIS GUY?
>BUT I DON'T EVEN KNOW HIS NAME!
dio is a whore.
>Hina is the enemy
She was wearing a Zogilia uniform in the OP anyways. It's likely that the Hina that appeared at the end of the second episode is obviously a Hina that has never met Aoba or Dio and the Hina that sent Aoba to the future got to know Aoba and Dio as people.
Get in the Coupling Dio!
>riding between a mecha's legs
The mechas are bulky and ugly, but so far the fights have been nicely animated and that's enough for me to keep watching.
also, I want to see more embarassing stuff like NICE COUPLING and FIRST PROPOSAL
why is ledo in this show
Don't worry, he died in the first episode.
>YOU WERE INSIDE HIS MIND DIO
>What are you implying?
>INSIDE WATASE AOBA
Pretty sure it's the other dude
Buddy Complex is pretty much exactly as it was described.
A standard mecha show. I'd be surprised if they fuck it up to Valvrave levels. /a/ can't get over Geass Sundays so they chase every new Sunrise show hoping to relive it.
I refuse to believe there are consistently this many retarded people about Sunrise mecha on /a/
>Lets see him redeem himself.
I admit that part was kind of ultra-stupid but this didn't redeem him?
>I'd like a Boy/Girl mecha setup were the main lead aren't in a romantic relationship but just a mutual partenership,
I think that was actually Zegapain
Other dude? There's only one Bizon. After all he is 4th most important character after Aoba, Dio and Hina.
What about girl\boy mecha where the main leads aren't in a romantic relationship but just a mutual partenership?
who Natarle here
Who Aoba-ass here?
I don't think there are enough girl-lead mecha to begin with to make that kind of call.
I legitimately liked this episode
My brother. Already best girl
Will this Valvrave bullshit ever ends? You can blame different section of Sunrise for this.
Bitch please, everyone in Zegapain wanted the mc dick
>Geass S2 got almost the same reaction that VVV had, as in a lot of complaining about retarded asspulls and a confused plot direction. Lots of memes and OC doesn't count as praise.
But they aren't necessarily incompatible with it. You selectively ignore the other side of a bit more complex situation. Some of the negatives were similar, but they were mixed with more positives as well, including what the other poster previously mentioned, so on the balance the results were still quite better rather than being "almost the same" like you are foolishly pretending.
>Watch 0079, Zeta, Ideon, Votoms, Unicorn, Getter Robo, Giant Robo, Big 0 and some more and then tell me that again, you fucking subhuman.
>Truly, Geass is to blame for a lot of shit that's going on atm.
Your intelligence is what actually seems to be subhuman here, since both those shows and others have flaws as well as elements that people still find controversial . Blaming any one show for anything in light of this is rather stupid on your part.
Buddy Complex isn't really like Valvrave but at the same time certain people want to make dumb comparisons both to criticize and to defend the show, which leads to a clusterfuck of a thread.
In truth, Buddy Complex is on the generic side but watchable so far. It's not great, it's not terrible.
The next show he's working on will be nothing like Valvrave
I legitimately didn't hate it.
Ironically, BC has more in common with SEED than with anything else Sunrise has made so far.
The major difference being that BC is not written by Morosawa.
I legitimately think Aoba is pretty cute.
Yes, it's written by a nameless collective instead.
Are you talking about Spaced Andy?
Partially. He's going to go write one episode of SD that's surely going to be different, and I guess then he'll likely get another set of adapting jobs.
>liking relationships means mecha is not for you
Tell that to Macross fans and shippers in general.
Amuro didn't start out as too proactive, to be fair, though that other guy is still quite dumb to dismiss all Gundam protagonists like that.
Some Gundam heroes are whiny, others definitely aren't, and sometimes they manage to change in the process. I like Geass a fair amount myself but pretending that's the only show with a proactive character is either naive or foolish, especially when there are different kinds of pro-activity as well.
Which reminds me...when will we ever get to see a truly romantically proactive protagonist again?
I was just waiting for the Terminator Theme to start playing in ep 1, or at least for someone to say "Are you Sarah Connor?"
They should give this mecha to Shinji.
Place Kaworu in the other and see him blasting the shit out of the enemies
I didn't pick this up because the artstyle doesn't interest me.
Why would I watch shit?
Horizon on the middle of nowhere 3rd season. Hurry.
Do we even know if there will be a third season?
It's worth seeing once. The Valvrave ending is disappointing but just meh. Too much of a big deal over nothing.
Wil we get romanc or not?
It's Sunrise, the only series that they do that has romance and they live is Horizon. Everything else just gets killed off once happiness is in sight.
Anyways, Hina is destined to loop through time.
Yes, but it won't be worth our time.
Nothing like valvrave, BC is one of the best action oriented shows of the season, pretty good, good looking and interesting.
Because it's a Sunrise mecha anime.
Wait, none of sunrise mecha had good romance?
More often than not.
I wait for the moment either of them will be injured just to see what will happen to the other one.
Dio Brando proposing to Jonathan in a giant robot. Now THAT I would watch.
If Buddy Complex can do FRIENDSHIP as well as Build Fighters I'll be impressed.
Buddy Complex is too homo even for me. And I hate the voice cast for some weird reason. It doesn't usually bother me, but goddamn do the characters sound bad.
The only thing closely resembling homo is all the NICE COUPLING and FIRST PROPOSAL going on. The character interaction itself was played straight, if you catch my meaning. If you're seeing homo in this, perhaps you've accidentally glued yaoi glasses to your face.
I don't get what sounds bad
As beside >>100305431 says, there not enough character interactions to call it gay
Heavy Object. Just don't take it seriously and enjoy the ride and it's great.
It's nothing like Valvrave faggot.
Yes, I'm watching buttbuddy complex. And I like it better than the VV shit so far.
>you will never propose to the anon you have the highest coupling compability with and aqquire his nihongo skills and ability to make samurai ramen
Never involving the main characters. You can have nice ships amongst secondaries though.
>The only thing closely resembling homo is all the NICE COUPLING and FIRST PROPOSAL going on
But that's exactly what I was talking about.
I hate it when Sunrise tries to shoehorn blatant hooks for fujoshi. Goddamn.
Gundam X. Check and mate.
How's about it's just an in-studio joke? Someone definiately thought the names are clever to an otherwise straight as an arrow show.
Btw, the mobile game accompaning this anime allow you to "coupling" with girls.
If the fights don't wow me by the third episode I'm dropping this like the turd that it is. Rewatching Gundam SEED reamasters seem like a better waste of time.
You got another Gundam show, which is a great thing.
You forgot Inuyasha.
However, both are not Sunrise's original show.
>super robot there is Getter
Getter Robo is as much "super" as Gundam is.
don't start this /m/
It's the new Majestic Prince.
Did you just fish that opinion out of /m/? Because that would be kind of cute.
A third PV is up:
>creating a ball of pure energy from thin air
>anything in Arc
She is a qtπ.
WTF Dio, losing against a grill? Disappointing.
>That song at the beginning
I hope it's not just for the PV, Tatsuya Kato never disappoints me on OST's
The OST is pretty damn great from what I've heard so far. Reminds me of Ace Combat.
Dio losing a fight and Aoba coming to save his skin was pretty much confirmed to happen.
But to Hina of all people?
Hina's preddy fuggen gud m8.
Also Dio is talented but he's probably still immature as a pilot, a hot headed Ace if you will.
She defeated Bizon in ep1, she's pretty good.
In a mech that was rusting apart
What's the problem here?
>Nothing like valvrave, BC is one of the best action oriented shows of the season
Maybe in your definition of season, but nope.
I thought Nobunagun was the new Valvrave
None of that kind of technical computer sci-fi stuff matters to fujoshi without homolust interactions to go off of first, and there is literally none. If it was a real total fujobait show, Dio's reactions to Aoba during and after the fight would've been completely different and way more dramatic and emotional, Aoba would be played up as super vulnerable, Dio would be clearly shown to already be (silently yet dramatically) grieving for Marcus, and that short girl wouldn't be there hogging up time that could be spent on DioxAobe.
But as it stands they just yelled at each other for very practical reasons and didn't really have any time to talk about anything yet. And if the rumours are true, they pretty much removed all the fujoshi bait that was originally in there, so if anything they'll go out of their way to avoid it now.
They said yes but it won't be a main focus. They were aiming for a more "traditional mecha with friendship, endeavor, and victory".
A lot of SEED references, yeah.
Let's hope it doesn't turn into Destiny.
I didn't know the CG was being done by Orange.
Other than the opening being SEED like how?
Oh and also, the character designs would be more slender
Sorry, who are they?
>would be more slender
Would or should be more slender?
I have no complaints.
Studio good at what they do
Pull over, that ass is too flat
>Sorry, who are they?
Same CG group that did Majestic Prince.
They also did the mecha CGI for Akito the Exiled.
I miss Uncle Jiart. I was hoping that he and Izuru would meet face to face at least once.
Let's reserve judgement until he gets in that tight ass pilot suit.
>Africa and South America ever being relevant on a global scale
What was that about? Another CG wannabe? OR it aired before CG?
You have to get the V2
Actually good mecha anime unlike CG.
> Another CG wannabe?
>OR it aired before CG?
It's not even Sunrise
There's nothing there. Like, at all.
No strategic value either, unlike the UK and Japan.
>What was that about?
Rapey aliens after human genes. Also god tier fights.
But look! Australia is relevant!
So it was BRS TV of mecha?
Yeah, just found out theres another one.
Why don't you watch it instead of doing this low quality bait?
You should watch it.
>we will never know Angies true gender
Orange also does the dragon in Tokyo Ravens which why it looks better compared to the spider mecha tanks.
We will in S2.
Is there a video with all of the fights like BRS did? I really don't feel like watching another >Rapey aliens after human genes after VVV.
That wasn't the premise of VVV.
>Mankind not united.
BATERS must come and eat all these faggots.
Dude, it is nothing like Valvrave. The rapey part is greatly exaggerated because people like to make fun of how creepy the aliens are
>humanity is united
But that's wrong.
Yeah they deserve to die too. You have to deal with aliens and not trying to kill each other.
What exactly am I looking at here? What do the countries in red represent?
Countries in Gargantia that banded together to kill the Hideauze.
Wow, what the fuck British?
Hahaha. That's hilarious.
Are you referring to Ireland?
>Kazahstan going against Russia
>Mongolia going against both Russia and China
8 minutes in on the first episode and I knew that she was from the future and he was probably going back in time to close the loop eventually.
Predictable as fuck.
>trying to pass off the V2 as the original
>got rid of the original
>new release isn't even a red torrent
saving face eh anime-koi
I can't stop watching the fights in the second episode. I don't know why?
It's probably because it was an actual battle with missiles, anit-aircraft flak fire and a battleship flying around. Also the music is Ace Combat tier which always gets the blood pumping.
It'll probably turn into laser spam and "THAT" later on in the series.
Doubt it. Even in the first episode, they were shooting bullets. Which I like. Plus Hina's mecha still used bullets.
I hope they keep it up.
The series is shaping up to be a mix of Top Gun meets Ace Combat.
as of right now it's the only thing I look forward too, I kinda get this weird MSG feel from it, like how they have all those different models for combat
and once again Zeon/Dorsia/who ever these fucks are have the best designs
Well some people were still downloading the bad version.
