Mob Psycho chapter 45 is done.
I'm really sick of making v2 releases, so i'll use this board as proofread from now on.
Damn, you work fast.
Reigen, you motherfucker.
Hey the art is a lot better than OPman.
Just look at this guy… taking it all in stride like a boss.
God I love his face
I'll never get tired of this dude's wig.
Part of me honestly wishes that Murata decided to redraw this instead of OPM.
Fuck yeah, character introductions.
H-he's not gonna die, is he?
i can't take this guy seriously after years of tf2
that's probably where he got his inspiration from
Wait until you see what's behind the mask.
i bet it's some fugly girl
Reigan is too magnificent.
Forget King in OPM, Reigen is the real deal.
Saving his disciple, how valiant.
that greenbelt is really showing there, boss
He's a fucking green belt in shaolin kung fu, man!
Oh shit, the Master is not amused.
REIGEN IS SO BASED
fucking cliffhanger incomming
Shit's getting real
Don't need no pyshic power to fuck em up
They shouldn't underestimate him
Reigen, what the fuck?
and that's it for today.
Hahahaha oh wow, this fucking guy.
SO FUCKING BASED
He could probably even beat Tatsumaki and Saitama
against King he would have a bit more trouble i imagine
Whoa! That green belt is something!
damn,he got him real good.
K.O. for sure
Best Master 2014
He actually got a punch in, too
Guess that "hypnosis" actually worked in a way
He isn't a green belt for nothing!
How one man can be so based?
best avatar of reigen i've found
oh god my sides
Wish he'd draw more Mob Psycho, lately he's only been doing OPM and original art
Truly, psychic power is overrated.
>people bitch about lack of Reigen
>the most amazing chapter ever with Master Reigen
Thank you ONE.
So basically he is so normal that espers don't know what to do.
If this guy got enhanced by Dimple, had his strength upped several times, he'd be perfect.
I've read ahead in the raws, and it gets even better
seems nothing is wrong with the chapter, so i've uploaded it to mf
And with this he earns a direct pass to my top 10 favourite characters of manga and anime, past even Kumagawa. Based fucking Reigen.
I can confirm this.
Thanks ultimateking, you're the best.
My fuckig sides, so fucking based, god damn...
Reigen rescued us from power levels. That's not something just anyone can do.
I am so fucking naming my cat Reigen.
Just to honour to greatest esper to ever grace the earth.
Not to sound like an impatient fuck, but when are you planning to dump the next chapter? I don't want to miss it when it happens.
Thank you for your hard work.
dis fukken guy
probably tomorrow around the same time, give or take 2 hours.
To think, instead of this we could have gotten like a 3-4 chapter psychic battle with Mob going 100% and wrecking both of them with ease.
I'm so glad we got this instead. Reigen proving that psychic powers are overrated.
So, volume 5 was the last available volume? Will you do upload the "volume version" as well once they are out? i really like the covers and the omakes.
Link to your MF, please.
I swear, how the fuck does he get past their defense? He must have psychic power canceller within him. He's like the second coming of Kuzumi Taiga.
He is like these guys in W40K that cancel out all psionic activity.
i will probably not typeset the "existing" chapters again once vol 6 is out, though i will probably post the raws and tl anything that is extra in the tankobon.
Earlier it was mentioned only the true geniuses (probably only Mob or maybe "The Boss") can do two things at once (attack and defend) with psychic powers. Pyro was just about unleash some more power so he probably lowered his defenses then if he ever was able to both defend and attack at the same time.
Implicitly, they must have some sort of barrier. Even if it were a weak one.
Plus, from looking at Mob, it seems like there are varying degrees of protection based on an esper's level of consciousness. For example, even while asleep, Dimple couldn't hurt Mob at all.
And if we assume that espers work the same way here in Mob Psycho as they do in OPM, not every esper can unconsciously put up a barrier to protect themselves with. Only the more powerful ones can do it reflexively, I'd say.
Does the psychic defense even defend against anything that isn't psychic?
Remember that the wig dude almost choked Mob to death normally instead of using psychic powers and that scar dude's spray bottle just hit Mob normally.
Well, there's that pyrokinetic from a few chapters ago.
And when Teru fought against all those delinquents + the body builder club.
Oh right, forgot about that second one.
Then yeah, the only other explanation is that they can't do it reflexively. Reigen got the first guy while he was using his powers and Reigen caught the second dude off guard.
This is the best chapter so far.
He's so nonthreatening that they're taken off-guard. Classic Art of War.
Fucking shit. FUCKING SHIT. REIGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN
Real question is, how come ONE is so fucking good? Holy fucking shit.
He is definitely one of my favorite mangaka.
Because he didn't gave in to japan's shit taste.
If he was a bit of a better artist I could see him getting a fuckload more sales, that art puts a lot of people off.
The art is one of the best parts. Fuck all that other cookie-cutter bullshit
ONE emerged during the steady decline of manga quality. His style resembles old school shounen without the unnecessary edginess and/or darkness, so we could assume he's a rather dedicated fan of oldschool manga. He took the positive aspects from modern and oldschool manga and didn't succumb to the pressure of editors: he literally only draws what he thinks is awesome, not what "sells".
then he might be caught in the same kind of vicious circle most mangaka fell victim to. Just look at murata's remake of opm and its GOD AWFUL pacing.
I can see why people like the art, but if it was just a bit better though it'd help a lot.
I think I've never laughed so hard with a manga chapter before.
And this chapter made me do it twice.
Thanks for translating this awesome manga to people who can't read moon, ultimateking. Really.
Reigen is now my favorite character. He deserves it.
I don't think his art is problematic, besides, I believe he doesn't even care, from what I know, OPM is only being redraw because Murata approached him, I am sure if he wanted to he could do more cooperation like a bunch of other mangaka do, like Bakuman's guys and many others.
>he literally only draws what he thinks is awesome, not what "sells"
This, man. So fucking this.
Oh my god. That charisma. No wonders he was able to win over Mob (and bald esper).
nothing kills the potential in a manga quite like commercial pressure
Reigen, strengthening everyone, saving everyone. What a beast
Now they've done it. Show them the strength of an adult.
Who's dick do I have to suck to get this shit licensed already? Where the fuck are those Yen Press shills when you need them
>then he might be caught in the same kind of vicious circle most mangaka fell victim to. Just look at murata's remake of opm and its GOD AWFUL pacing.
What's wrong with the pacing?
Reigen didn't say he didn't have esper powers tho. He said "so there were other besides Mob". That could include or exclude him. He's probably got some kind of powers of his own. His bullshitting is the real deal.
this. It might look awesome, but don't forget in what frequency murata releases chapters.
The Metal Knight and the first encounter Saitama had with Saitama are the only problematic examples, though.
Murata follows the same line of thinking as ONE does, in the sense that he just does what he thinks is cool. The only difference is that Murata's idea of what's cool comes from an entirely visual perspective while ONE's is more about the story, so he makes flipbooks.
There is nothing wrong with the pacing. The manga industry suffers from the pacing. Jojo Bizarre adventure got much better as a whole since it became a monthly by example. BD do not have such issues and they are as a whole of a much higher quality.
ONE is doing alright.
Murata's OPM is popular and he is getting monies from that.
OPM ONE and Mob100 are simply what he does because he likes it.
He also has cult following.
I say ONE is doing fairly well.
This is my new favorite special technique.
This chapter is already up on Mangapanda with a watermark and everything
So when's Murata drawing each Mob Psycho character?
It took like an handful of minutes for Reigen to dismantle a whole branch. He is strong as fuck.
>the first encounter Saitama had with Saitama
Niggas are fast.
Also, I am seriously discouraged to post on this piece of shit imageboard because of these bullshit new captchas, jesus christ moot, I agree with captchas, BUT NOT CAPTCHAS THAT I HAVE TO TRY 10 TIMES UNTIL I GET IT RIGHT
Hah. I meant Sonic.
I think it'd lose it's charm if drawn properly
Just buy a pass goy, it's really worth it
Post more. You should be able to recognize which word has to be written and the one that doesn't.
You are deluding yourself if you believe MOB is some pinnacle of paneling, drawing etc. From a technical point of view, besides some scene, it's pretty weak. It works well enough to support the story but that's pretty much it.
i admit the metal knight one was an extreme. However, do I need to remind you of the latest opm chapter with 6 pages worth of contents? Murata tends to split single chapters into multiple parts, which really wrecks ONE's work which originally has a decent pacing.
It's not as much as murata's slow pacing that ticks me off, but more the fact that he's "ruining" someone else's work.
the story itself is pretty weak in all honesty. IT's not that it supports the story but it blends with the story
That's only because Murata is bound contractually to churn out pages as chapters and not as a whole.
To be fair, like 3 of those were double pages.
It was complete bullshit though.
which is why he shouldn't make these "estimated date of next release" to begin with.
The plot is weak, but the setting, characters interactions etc. are pretty fresh.
Isn't he just updating a chapter a bit at a time? I don't see much of a difference between what he does and what ONE does, except that Murata draws out combat sequences more to give the story a more visceral feel.
That's how Japan rolls.
Er, does that actually bother you?
it depends which manga we look at. OPM is a hobby for ONE, he doesn't earn money with it (the webcomic), so he's allowed to slack off. However murata is earning money with each release, so it feels like cheating.
You haven't got any of the new captcha yet, did you?
Both of them need to be right now, they are also way harder to read, see pic
I don't. That's funny, google is good with me.
I had trouble with them two days ago, but after that day it went back to normal easy shit.
Do you feel that he's not producing anything of worth? Or that what he has to offer is a detriment to the story? Does he not seem dedicated at all to providing as good an output as he can?
I don't know why you guys bother so much with Murata releases if you all have already read the original.
Fuck the pacing.
Just wait for the chapters. You aren't paying for anything.
For me it's a shame he won't do gifs anymore since it became "weekly".
I'm really glad I haven't got any of that yet.
Sign into a google account
So Reigen might be a blank/null since psychics kinda are baffled?
He's a green belt at Shaolin Kung Fu.
I had it two days ago. Now it's back to normal.
I already am, on IE though, which I am not signed in to google(or anything because I don't fucking use this shit), captchas are normal, sometimes I just open this thing to post, because of how bothersome to get those captchas right.
Sales? These are webcomics One draws in his spare time. Mob Psycho was published eventually though because the popularity was so high. Apparently he even still has a day job.
Most manga has shit art anyway, don't tell me you actually prefer manga to have the same three or five generic styles with minimal backgrounds everyone excepting the few geniuses use?
The last panel was the point where I thought this manga - or any manga for that matter - couldn't get any better. I decided to still read on. Thankfully.
Man, this Reigen guy.
I'm grinning like a retard for 5 minutes now
Honestly, with the original OPM being avaliable online, I don't mind any "pacing" issues from Murata's, since I see it as done mostly for the art's sake. It's my biweekly-to-monthly dose of awesome artwork and remake appreciation, and it's always interesting to be surprised with something that got treated very differently in ONE's (the freakin' spaceship was just an ink blob, while the remake is still my desktop background), or even adapted with the utmost fidelity but with Murata's art (Soundspeed Sonic's moves and the mythic Metal Knight landing).
No, the Katana guy was thinking that for Reigen to use hypnosis he should have SOME level of ESP, but since he felt no ESP at all he became suspicious - and he was right, Reigen had no ESP, he just used it as a trick to lure the other Scar guy into punching range.
Best sucker punch I've seen so far, based Reigen.
Mob's so cute.
Making /a/ cream their pants. Reigen's secret technique.
I take it you guys aren't art lovers. I enjoy murata's OPM because it looks good, and he's clearly having a blast drawing it. It in no way deteriorates ONE's OPM, since I can still read that.
And the metal knight sequence was fantastic. I had a page of that chapter as my desktop background for months.
You are wrong. I love Murata's art. I just don't understand all the whining about Murata's pace.
As long as he still delivers, I'm ok with it.
Murata is fucking speed racer compared to Togashi and Miura.
To be honest, the ONE's OPman was slow as fuck.
A dead snail is faster than Miura
No, it wasn't slow as fuck it IS slow as fuck.
And still, it's his hobby, I wouldn't whine about his pace either.
Does he still even draw manga?
the metal knight sequence was one of the biggest trolling in opm history, murata literally spent 4 releases (times 2 weeks each) on these splash pages, when readers just wanted to know where it is going. Back then there was no original opm translated so that's all the readers had. Being a fan of ONE, i believe that the story comes before art.
and before anyone asks why i even bother with murata if there is the original opm out there: I am the one scanlating murata's opm, if there's no content in a chapter then i don't really have the motivation to do the scanlation job because i feel like i'm ripping the readers off, as strange as it might sound.
>murata literally spent 4 releases (times 2 weeks each) on these splash pages
but that's wrong, he didn't spend 8 weeks on this chapter. Also he only used 2 weeks for the next chapter, which had 66 pages FULL COLOR
My sides. Fucking Reigen.
ONE always seems to make manga according to this formula.
it's kind of a parody of the shonen formula:
>a bunch of self important villains who consider themselves strong
>a protag who is many times stronger and doesn't give a fuck
literally all of his works: makai ossan, OPM and this too.
what other manga of this type are there?
only aiki comes to mind
3 of the 4 parts of that "giant meteor arc" were flipbook chapters he released as regular chapters with the usual schedule (2 weeks per chapter), and that 66 page chapter took him almost an entire month
well reigen gives some shit for money for sure
Eh, I kind of disagree with this one. If anything it was more like a SoL in a shounen underworld setting. There wasn't any real villains or 1 specific super protag
Fuck you I love you REIGEEEEEEEEN
I have't been this excited reading a page for such a long time. ONE is truly savior.
The Hero was a villain.
Well both are good, but I think now I love Mob Psycho more than OPM now, fucking Reigen.
We haven't seen him hit the floor yet. A sucker punch from Reigen really oughtn't K.O. an adult, unless it hit him square in the jaw, and it clearly didn't.
This is Reigen we're talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if knocking people out with a single blow was one of the skills he's mastered.
Punches in anime and manga are lethal dude
Well he knocked out Ishiguro with a drop kick, although I don't know how powerful drop kicks are.
So what's the deal with ONE and his protags being powerful but want to maintain their daily life?
About a dozen times more powerful than a sucker punch to the face.
Saitama became OPM because he didn't want to maintain his daily life.
He's most powerful in mangaka's business, but don't need no fame, only living his own life.
Well what I meant is he is super powerful but he only beat monsters as a hobby and he still likes to do mundane things like shopping and such, unlike other superheroes.
Well, if he doesn't go grocery shopping, how will he get groceries? We don't know if he likes it, we just know he likes getting cheaper than usual groceries. And I know what you mean, I just disagree. He had a "daily life" for twenty-something years, then he got fed up and decided to just do things his own way. He's never been shown to try to maintain any kind of status quo, he's even going against the Hero organization he belongs to right now. That's not something you do if you're actively looking out for your lifestyle.
God dammit Reigen, you glorious mother fucker.
Thanks for the work.
standing there like a boss.
Holy, shit my sides.
I haven't laughed this hard to a manga in years.
ONE is a writing genius! i love this
He truly is the hero /a/ needs
This is amazing.
>Just look at murata's remake of opm and its GOD AWFUL pacing.
>It's not as much as murata's slow pacing that ticks me off, but more the fact that he's "ruining" someone else's work.
You keep bringing this up and I don't think anyone agrees with you.
Especially since pacing is usually determined by the rate at which something is read when completed, not serially. In which case it think you just mean his rate of release.
But people read his release specifically for his standards of drawing. They don't care how long it takes, since the original already exists. Especially since he ISN'T slacking off. Essentially this>>100286574
Isn't that up to the readers to decide? You don't really need to define what content is and how they deserve to receive it.
Reigen is so fucking based.
>I don't think anyone agrees with you
Unimportant if anyone does or not, but I agree with him. When Murata just straight-up tells the story it's fine, but his little exercises don't interest me. Five billion hours spent on a spaceship that won't even do anything of relevancy is not my idea of time well spent to tell a story.
Oh man, I'm so damn hyped.
>Back then there was no original opm translated so that's all the readers had.
Well, you know, it's not like it was being done with English speakers in mind. If you're Japanse, you could just read ONE's Japanese webcomic.
