wtf is zahmazon.com?
You see, if you put down "Amazon.com", it becomes an advertisement. If a company paid for it, it's fine (ie: Code Geass + Pizza Hut), *BUT* if you advertise something at your own will without being paid, then two problems arise:
1) Companies will start paying less for product placement and advertising because they can get free advertising from anime, TV shows, etc.
2) People will scream "NO FAIR, MALPRACTICE, etc" over it because you are promoting something over another "unfairly (bear with me, I'm just generalizing it into a 4chan post)".
whats up with their new mouths?
I liked the old ones better.
or 3) the company doesn't want your advertisement in the first place due to potential negative publicity. If the KKK advertise Coca-Cola, they wouldn't like it.
Ahh, I also forgot to add:
4) The advertised company might not like the fact that you're using THEIR name to be used in your product whether or not they get positive public exposure. It's like Disney trying to sell Naruto knock-offs through the advertisements on the Disney channel and their DVDs. Disney keeps all of the profits they make from interested Narutards randomly buying their shit on a whim because it had Naruto on it.
The wonders of business, economics, and law. This is why I took Computer Science instead of business/law.
You know what, that's a bad analogy. Let me replace it with a car analogy:
It's like Honda trying to sell cars by saying something like "This is so awesome, even Naruto likes to drive a Honda Civic *cue shooped Naruto in a civic*" in their advertisements.
Hence a good third of the references in shows like Hayate being censored, and the ones made about big companies rarely even making into the anime.
Don't forget Lucky Star.
