What are your top 5 favourite manga?
I'm new to this medium, have only read Beserk, which was awesome, really fucking good. Plan on reading Black Lagoon next.
In no particular order:
Onani Master Kurosawa
Akame ga Kiru!
REAL was the best thing I've ever read.
Abandon The Old In Tokyo
Kamigami no Itadaki
Berserk/One Piece (I can't decide)
Akame ga Kiru!
To Love Ru (OR) Negima
they may all have different genres but they're all fun to read
>fun to read
Liking Seo is like eating shit while grinning...
No particular order:
Hokuto no Ken
though I recently picked up some stuff and I really happened to like it too, such as Gate, Arpeggio of Blue Steel or Silver Spoon.
Real is fucking awesome too.
Attack on Titan
>all this edgy stuff like Akame ga Kill, Deadman Wonderland, Shingeki
/a/, I thought you were betrter than this.
Ichi the Killer
Homunculus ...or Vagabond?
/a/'s recommended manga images are a good starting point, but it's a big ol' medium with endlessly more variation than anime.
Bleach, though I haven't read it since 2010
>it's a big ol' medium with endlessly more variation than anime.
Exactly. Manga > anime >>>>>>>>> shit > LN/VN
JOHJ is funny in its hilarious racism.
>Can't even name 5
What are you doing here?
top 5 is gonna be hard as fuck, so instead i'll give ya 5 of my favorite mangakas :
From memory pretty much every work these guys did is worth checking out. Enjoy discovering all the masterpieces of this medium, have a nice day.
2. a drifting life
4. getter robo saga
5. one piece
not reading manga obviously, I've watched 117 animu though
I was actually going to switch Junji Ito for Asano Inio, but then I remembered that faggot wants to undergo a gender change. (Doesn't change the fact he still makes amazing work, check out his stuff as well if you want FEELS)
Wakabayashi Toshiya’s 4-koma Collection
Mahou Sensei Negima!
Shokugeki no Souma
In no real order.
Kokou no Hito.
Legend of the Strongest Man Kurosawa.
My taste is pretty okay-ish and I'm really low on my manga reading.
But those are the ones that I either laughed the most or cried the most.
Dude, don't read Black Lagoon next. Then anime for it is pretty good, but if you want a good manga after Berserk read Full Metal Panic
1 - Berserk
2 - Claymore
3 - Onepunch Man
4 - Parasyte
5 - the horror stuff by that injii guy, forgot his full name
>considering a specific medium as objectively superior to another
And theres this faggot.
Anime can bring things manga can't, and manga can bring things anime can't. The only general rule you could make is to always prioritize the original work when you can. And then give a go to the adaptations. And it turns out manga often is the original work (after Light Novels). And happens to to often be done way better than it's Anime counterpart. But still, you shouldn't consider anime as shit or worse than manga just because of that anon.
That's still beginner tier. Step up your game a bit.
The standard to be posting on /a/ is to watch 300 anumu, read over 100 manga and read over 10 VN.
Please come back when you've accomplished all that.
Current favourite manga, in no particular order:
- Akame ga Kill!
- Torikago Gakkyuu
- Zekkyou Gakkyuu
>Akame ga Kill
How can you like that crap?
I honestly don't see what everyone likes about this manga?
at least im close enough. if you add all the eps watched in my watching list and dumped list, it's easily more than 300 animu's worth of eps.
Who the hell reads VN? The only one I did was katawa shoujo or whatever it s called.
>not reading VN
>only read KS
Christ forsaken us, the time is nigh, the fall is upon us, the day of reckoning is near.
Seriously, at least read a couple VNs here and there.
VN are usually better than anime so gtfo if you've never read
Saya No Uta
Ef- A fairy tale of the two
Wanko to Kurasou
Try saya no uta, ever 17, remember 11, if you haven't seen the anime you can also enjoy umineko (the VN is superior by far), G senjou no mao and sharin no kuni are okay as well.
Manga is undeniably the superior artistic medium.
There's more leeway for artists to do what they want without trying to sell merchandise and appeal to demographics. Anime just skims a few auteurs from the top so they can do inferior adaptations of something that's already popular.
It's edgy, has a lot of death (so deep xD) and is unknown/popualr enough to be a hipster.
I'll enjoy seeing the threads for it go to shit once the anime starts airing.
I'm surprised. The few times I see it is because someone is making fun of the art; which is a shame.
Higurashi, Umineko, Forest, Griasia (only read the Common route, the rest is shit), S;G, Symphonic Rain, Little Buster, Planetarian, Rewrite, and >>100285371 the last two.
There's a bunch of good VNs to read.
What about ghost trick?
Battle Royale is in the ''it's so bad it's good''.
Especially when you got fucking Dracula just destroying the entire fucking game.
You lower the IQ of everyone who reads this thread with these type of posts.
Too bad that a lot fo those suck. A medium only written by otakus is doomed to fail.
Not really a VN but good game.
Phoenix Wright game might be considered a VN, since it is a bunch of readring and minimal gameplay with only selection items/paths, but most consider it a game more than a VN.
Either way, Ghost Tricks is fun.
Hi no Tori
Apollo no Uta
Versailles no Bara
Attack on Titan
More an adventure game than VN.
>guy finish to read berserk.
Welcome aboard to the endless boat.
my favourite top 5 manga of all time is:
2) Jojo Bizarre advent'ures (the entire series)
3) Akame ga kiru
4) Blade of the Immortal
5) Vinland saga
Hey, the novel is really good.
blade of the immortal
then my work here is done.
It's kinda sad when a person's only experience with something is something created by 4chan
Great Teacher Onizuka
The World God only knows
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Guilty Pleasure: Love Hina
The Vioinist of Hameln
Konjiki no Gash Bell
Bonus: Trinity 7
Why are people so quick to recommend manga when this thread would be full of Boku no Pico replies if OP substituted "manga" with "anime"?
Not that I really care, but it's kind of a strange double standard. If someone is new to the medium, I'd recommend he tries new series by himself, rather than try to tackle the big names, so to speak.
Anime is shit, what are you expected?
Because manga fans are better people than animufags
Blade of the Immortal
Try reading some more. Some personal favorites:
G-Senjou no Maou
Sharin no Kuni
You know what, replace Mirai Nikki with Great Teacher Onizuka. I just remembered I started to dislike MN because of the weak MC.
Manga has way less shitposting.
Tower of God
Aku No Hana
Tonari no Seki-kun
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (on part 3 and 7)
Mob Psycho 100
Chimoguri Ringo to Kingyobachi Otoko
I'm in the same boat as you OP, I haven't read that many mangas. So far, Oyasumi Punpun was the best one I've come across
>I'm in the same boat as you OP
Please refrain from using that word in a thread that was started with a Berserk picture.
Battle Angel Elita
Attack on Titan
All gritty and strange, not much deviation from tone.
I still read Naruto and Bleach compulsively but I'm not sure they're in my top 5.
Honorable mentions, Vinland Saga, Apocalypse no Toride.
The Gamer is an up and coming that's quickly making my lists, we'll see where that goes.
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou
