You lied, /a/. You tricked me. You said this was good. That's the last time I take a recommendation from you seriously, it's just Boku no Pico all over again.
I know this is probably bait, but I agree.
>tried this a couple years ago
>expected NEET shenanigans
>got a romance plot
Dropped after 3 episodes.
gr8 b8 m8, i r8 it 8/8
Can this meme be over now?
What's your reasoning, friend?
Too bad since they drop the romance subplot (the only thing the show had going for it by that point) nearly as fast as you did.
I honestly didn't like it until the end of the first season.
I started watching it as something to kill time, but I ended up liking it more and more.
This guy right here.
You didn't get duped as hard as I did when /a/ told me Infinite Stratos had amazing girls.
>Not watching it for the best character
The episode when he left hit me harder than anything else in the show, fuck.
Are you implying Boku no Pico isn't good?
What wasn't good OP?
Give me one reason to think of this as anything more than a bait thread
>I honestly didn't like it until the end of the first season.
.. There was a second season?
He probably means second cour. Pretty sure the whole show aired in one run.
It is, he hasn't even posted yet.
it doesn't provide the hard hitting truth about hikki life
Yeah, that's what I figured. Why the hell do people keep mixing that up? Stop using words you don't understand you 'tards.
it's shit mate. girls don't turn up at your doorstep
I'm more startled that you think Boku no Pico is bad than NHK.
You have an opinion I don't agree with
>Boku no pico
Never mind, your opinion doesn't even matter anymore.
Satou manned up and got a job at the end. Something you NEET faggots on /a/ should do.
the pyramid scheme and the mmo was the fucking worst
>implying you can just get a job
It's not that easy.
Even if she didn't agree to help him, he would have met Yamazaki anyway, and that might have saved him.
Then he went back to being a NEET.
This is true.
For one, you have to stop having your parents babying you so you can actually get off your "anti-social" ass
Next you need to be fucking starving and desperate for money.
The only way to fail is to quit looking.
The projection, I can't handle it
I know I did.
Oh yeah, sure. I'll just hire this middle aged dead beat loser who used to be a shut in, with no experience instead of the hundreds of other desperate people that are applying that have some work experience, and don't completely shit themselves when they're conversing with others.
>Getting a job
Why? If anything I congratulate him on getting a gf (well, he kinda did)
5/10 you will get some replies but you could have done something less cliche.
congratulations on the delusional worldview, unemployed people are actually unemployed because they want to
Yeah, keep telling yourself its a troll.
The manga was way better. The anime kinda sucks in comparison to me now really. The manga furthers the story and makes the entire series much more worth while and gives it more depth. Re reading it now actually.
The Boku no Pico meme is retarded and not funny.
I was referencing the fucking anime you dick asses
If you don't take it seriously, then you should get out.
LN > Manga > Anime
OST was good though. Hitori no Tane no Lullaby is amazing.
It's funny when someone actually falls for it.
>Sunohara wins for once
2/10 Quit while you're ahead.
Agreed, one of the best reasons to watch the show.
The manga is terrible. The LN and anime characters have realistically broken personalities; in the manga they're simply caricatures of mental issues rather than human characters.
0/10 u are baby
Yep. relationshit is romance. If he's motivated by trying to get a girl, it's romance.
LN > Anime >>> Manga
Yamazaki alone did more for him than anyone. If bitch wasn't around, he probably could have gone to the farm with Yama and plowed qt2d farmgirls all day while milking cows and driving combines and shit.
Anime didn't have super masturbation time.
I think Misaki is a lot better in the anime. She was a much more likable character, she just wanted to feel needed by somebody.
Yamazaki and Misaki were both pretty awesome friends. I liked how they got him to not commit suicide by calling him worthless... cause it's true.
This is probably taken out of context. A shame, because I would love a guys only no girls allowed type sausage festival anime where they just shit on ladies.
He did betray his ideals though.
That's because he didn't really believe in them in the first place anyway.
At no point besides the Senpai arc was there any hint of romance. Satou, despite loving him some CP, had no intention of ever fucking Awful Girl. Relationships do not equate to romance. You have a relationship with friends(hah) with your mom, your dad, and I don't think you want to romance any of them, do you?
>implying misaki didn't only hang around satou because hes a worthless neet so she could feel better about herself..
You're trying to argue semantics instead of my point.
>Read the manga
>Everyone's just crazy
>Character motivations make no sense
>Not even funny
Punpun is the better suicidal hikki manga
True. It would've been great if the anime had that too.
Still, the characters in the manga were bad, especially Misaki.
In the manga she was the epitome of you're typical 3DPD bitch, whereas in the LN and the anime she was depicted as a really broken girl.
Also, the MMO arc was inferior to the Anime adaption.
But no one implied that.
He was in the middle of one of his rants. I don't remember which one, but it was probably after getting brushed off by VA girl again and getting blitzed with Satou. There's a few of those types of scene, i think it's about halfway through.
The manly NEET sausage fest anime would be magnificent though with those two characters.
Actually, in the novel, that's pretty much what it is. Those two running around having adventures, there's not much Misaki or anyone else. Which is why it's super superior.
The MMO arc was shit in the anime so I can't imagine what the manga is like.
was hitomi sad when she got dumped and asked satou if he was happy it happened because she was lonely or because she genuinely liked satou
Yamazaki was more interesting in the book
His flaws were a lot more visible and you could really get a good feel of him and Satou's parasitic friendship
Misaki want's the fat Hikki's dick
>see newfag OP shitting all over a masterpiece
>feelings get hurt, shit hits the fan
>my madness has reached the stratosphere
fuck you, you fucking fucker
Lonely, and remembered that Satou was the only person to ever hang around her and listen to her wacky bullshit. Sometimes even a longshot reach is better than no reach.
It still hit me harder than a truck.
And it happened just as prophecy fortold.
Cried a few bitch tears at that part.
I thought it was amazing when I first saw it, but looking back, It's not that much of a masterpiece.
I reading the ln now though.
NHK's not bad, but the manga's infinitely better.
The anime hacks off significant plot points, including the latter half or more of the manga. There's no crazy shit in the manga like there is at the end of the anime.
>it's just Boku no Pico all over again.
Nobody took this thread seriously, right?
>Cried a few tears
Nigga did you forget the train departure scene when Yamazaki has to go back to home? Sato is yelling that he is not going home a loser and they will finish the game? The emptyness and suffering that ensues as Sato passes by the empty room next door and starts to have a breakdown?
I have genuinely cried bitch tears at this part. This series hit too close to home.
We took it as an excuse to voice our opinions, regardless of OP. Like every other thread.
>The anime hacks off significant plot points
you mean the manga adds a lot of plot all the main plot points are in the anime, try reading the novel sometime.
The NEET life is a luxury, only to be enjoyed by the lucky few without responsibility. There are those of us who simply cannot afford that lifestyle and have to work in order to survive.
I remember being absolutely miserable as a NEET, so why do I miss it so much?
I have genuinely cried bitch tears at way too many parts. After I finished the series, I laid in bed listening to Hitori Bocchi and cried myself to sleep. ;_;
I was a NEET for 10 years straight. Now I got my shit back together and got a part time job and enrolled into university. I look back sometimes, it was an important part of my evolution. I regret nothing.
I want to watch anime that'll make me feel for the characters.
But then I get engrossed in the anime world and become even more depressed. It's why I can't watch Eva a second time.
Does anyone else have a similar problem?
Dude there are so many moments in this series I cried bitch nigga tears. Fuck you for bringing that shit up. that was one of the worst.
Time to rewatch the series and get drunk. Wish me luck anon, I don't know how far ill get into this before either breakdown or blackout.
>reading nip novels
I'm almost tempted to but everyone who reads that shit is an insufferable cunt. I don't even watch/read any manga or anime that's not a long-standing RSS subscription. I'm only in /a/ by accident and saw a thread about something I'd actually seen and read years ago.
Are you guys aware that you're now obsessed with fucking slice-of-life and girlband animes? What the hell happened? Things were nasty when Lucky Star and Haruhi were out but how did you go from bashing that shit to devoting 90% of the board to it?
I think it's safe to say that Japan is a miserable and fucked up place to live in where society forces conformity upon you. I mean all countries have their shortcomings but anime always makes it seem so depressing.
current neet here
NHK makes me cry
i should go finish school
The book is only like 250 pages it takes like one night to read
>no hittori bocchi without the hispanic man singing
On the weekends I stock up on food supplies and lock myself in the room to soak up all the suffering by watching old series.
It's close to what you'd expect from a western novel. It's not a series LN with pictures.
You do realize NHK is not an LN, but a regular novel?
Nigga I'm reading Stranger in a Strange Land and Book of the Long Sun right now. How can this novella possible stack up to Heinlein or Wolfe? Japanese media is for when your brain's out of juice.
>The NEET life is a luxury, only to be enjoyed by the lucky few without responsibility
Responsibility isn't a burden. It's a privilege.
It means you've been given something in life that you actually care about.
People don't work because "they have to". They do it because they want to keep what they have.
Perhaps you would rather enjoy your time spent more in >>>/lit/ if that is the case
If you're actually a litfag, you probably wouldn't be bashing shit just for being Japanese, but you could just try putting it on your backlog for now.
Why? Because it made you realize the truth?
>No one is coming to save you OP... you need to do it yourself.
>you need to do it yourself.
Like any of us are worth saving in the first place.
Generally, I do. Like I said, don't even visit /a/ anymore. But /lit/ has some shity taste, too. Hipsters out the ass.
I already have. I haven't read anything Japanese newer than 1900 ever. Most of it a lot older than that.
In terms of goodness, the novel is the way to go. As I said up there, it's mostly just Yamazaki and Satou having adventures while fucked on legal hallucinogens and dissociates.
the anime is second of course, it covers main plot points, and adds a bit to it. I think it's good, showing the people and their fucked up boring lives. It shows it's not just Satou fucking up, it's everyone, and that makes it...somehow more human?
>want to buy the novel
>find out tokyopop released it in America
>know right off the bat im not gonna want to pay what the assholes on amazon are gonna charge
i shoulda bought that shit when I had a local shop order Ending Day by Day for me
Nigga you ever consider reading something just because it's enjoyable and not for its literary value?
hipsters don't do anything enjoyable
fun is too mainstream
He's reading to increase is e-peen.
The manga was hilariously great, but I tried watching the anime and it just felt... boring?
The trick is creating worth out of yourself
Literary value is a bullshit term. If it entertains, it's a good book. If it provides information that isn't total bullshit, it's a good book. I measure my literary value by how much FUCK YEAH I get from my Warhammer novels. To me, they have more literary value than most anything else, simply because I enjoy them.
