Why do you watch moe anime, knowing full well it has little to no artistic value?
Why do you post on /a/, knowing full well you have little to no taste?
because I like cute things. Also check em
You couldn't define artistic value if it were fucking your mom in the ass.
>implying that Non Non Biyori was not a work of art whose goal was to relax and heal the viewer, and that it did not wildly succeed at this goal
>implying the purpose of art is not to make one feel, like NNB made the viewer feel relaxed and happy
I don't watch something because it has artistic value or not, I watch it if I enjoy it. I can't qualify what makes something enjoyable, I either enjoy it or not.
Because cute things make me feel good.
Because its cute and fun and takes my mind off my miserable existence but i try to balance it out with good anime like black lagoon and GITS like stuff
Anime has no artistic value, but I still watch it.
NNB, however, is particularly shit.
Why do you eat junk food when it has little to no nutritional value?
The answer is because fun things are fun.
Why do you go to art gallery, knowing full well it has little to no moe?
Why do you watch anime, knowing full well it has little to no artistic value?
I like you anon. You get a corn.
Now's my time to shine with an appropriate reaction picture.
Not that guy, but how would something fucking someone's mother in the ass assist anyone in being capable of defining what it was
Moe lies in the eye of the beholder. What is moe to the spider is worthless to the fly. Could you comprehend the moe that exists within a work such as Elfen Lied? I suspect not.
>no artistic value
Ah, typical philistine. I bet you love your hipsterish "mature" shit that is not only badly written, but obviously for infantile teenagers.
whats the most healing anime this season?
dominoes episode 1 & set in an arranged marriage epsiode 1 isnt cutting it for me.
Why does this feel like it should be bringing up memories? Was there a time when this image was more popular?
Hard to tell. This season is really lewd.
This. All that 2deep4u bullshit is overrated as fuck. The only one that even comes close is EVA
Aishiteruze Baby aired 10 years ago.
The closest I can think of out of all I've watched is Sakura Trick, but instead of healing me, it feels like my heart's about to burst open in a bloody explosion.
I didn't watch Non Non Biyori, I experienced it. There is no deeper artistic value than that.
There are four three cups
being too stupid to get it and instead cling to pointless, plotless shovel ware doesn't make you a good judge of quality
because I enjoy cute things
i shall get on that immediatly then
and hope nirvana aires soon
>I looked up existentialism on wikipedia so I'm an expertn feggetz
>tfw no qt misa gf w/ gr8 animu tas8s 2 b heeled w/
>too stupid to get it
Anon, please... do you really believe that something like Uchouten Kazoku, Jinrui or SSY is deep and complex? I enjoyed them, but it always makes me laugh when people try to elevate them to some higher level and downplay slice of life shows.
Please define artistic value?
"Things I like".
Feels good to be an eclectic anime watcher who's able to appreciate all kinds of genres and watch from the side the endless war moefags and DEEPfags wage.
>watching moe anime
>talking like moe is a genre
>always guaranteed replies
I feel like moe is a sub category of slice of life at most
I think this should be a Saya thread now.
Why do you eat junk food, knowing full well it has little to no nutritional value?
Its not a genre or category. Its simply a description of how characters are drawn in certain circumstances. You can say certain characters in 3/4 the anime ever made have been 'moe'. From Rei in the 'toast' scene in Eva to Ed in Cowboy Bebop to even some characters in Record of Lodoss War or Berserk in certain scenes.
its a style of drawing characters 'cute'.
Well, it means you have shitty taste. While slice of life and other shows heavy on cute girls can be good, harems are literally the worst genre ever conceived.
I thought I can warm up to the idea of harem so I watched Nisekoi and Nourin from this season, and sorry, but I can't watch this ugly, stupid drivel. It's bad. It's really fucking bad. It's not charming and adorable like romance, it's not witth or snappy like some more obscene comedies. It's just horrible, juvenile and irritating.
It's not hard when you compare it to something devoid of story. Hell Naruto, for all its terrible story and characterization, is better then plotless moeshit as it at least has a reason to engage to viewer other then "what cute thing will uguu-chan do this episode"
>knowing full well it has little to no artistic value?
This is false. From a modernist perspective, certainly, it does lack artistic value. However, from a postmodern perspective, it is one of the most interesting things out there.
>Why do you watch moe anime, knowing full well it has little to no artistic value?
Because I know animation isn't just art.
Its also a medium, a medium to tell a story.
And what a relaxing and enjoyable story this is.
>Limiting yourself to being either a moefag or DEEPfag
You're missing out on so much shit. Both have their place.
Who said anything about harems? Why are you so excessively mad? No one is forcing you to watch shows you dislike for whatever reason.
Why do you eat junk food when it has little to no nutritional value?
Oh please. Even the japs refer to moe anime as moe anime.
This is false.
This is also false, if anything it would be a style of writing rather than drawing, but only in as far as there exists someone who reacts to that writing.
This gentleman get's it unlike OP.
Stop posting that image!
It makes me feel emotions. Therefore, it has artistic value, but not a discussable value because it's personal and subjective for every viewer.
I suppose you would fall asleep watching some better drama films. Story isn't the most important part of film/animation. Watch some city symphonies or films without classical narrative.
You're just a pleb.
total semen demon
Then I only watch anime with artistic value (things I like)
My sense of artistic value > Your sense of artistic value
Is this going to be the new >Why do you still watch moeshit?
Some of the best anime films I've seen were devoid of a conventional plot. People who are accustomed to Hollywood storytelling might be left confused as to why one would even want to make a film that tells a story where "nothing happens," SoL might be a surprisingly hard genre to get into for Westerners with a low power level.
My captcha has the word slice in it, so it's been confirmed.
>a form of writing
Saying its a form of writing is one thing. Proving it is another. Do the work and actually prove it.
Actual people in the anime industry like Hideki Anno have backed up what >>100273090 said, calling their own 'Rei Toast' scene pandering to 'moe'. Which they didn't plan in the script.
You watch Japanese cartoons. You have no taste or consideration for artistic value. Fuck off.
But I don't.
>implying moeshit isn't the cancer killing anime
Damn son, drop some education on this fool
When it's a style of drawing it's just called "cute" d00d. Cute things are often moe.
So...you're backing up the previous guys claim that moe = a drawing style? Okay....
