what did you think of sword art online? I find it was well made
Come on OP, try harder than that.
then what's a good series
Despite the insane amount of hate it gets on /a/ I enjoyed watching it.
fairy tail is a good
Funniest anime I've ever seen
Is that a chocobo?
I got terrible when they got into the land of fairy's I find
naruto was a good one
>Introduce the only saving grace of a character in this entire piece of shit show
>It became shit
no it's fairy tales guild simble
your the most delusional of them all.
Shit I forgot about those parts good call
It's "You're", with a capital Y.
saving grace never heard of it
A giant steaming ripoff of .//hack
They have 1 thing in common, otherwise they are completely different.
I am extremely tsundere towards the anime and anxiously await S2 in order to hate on it mercilessly and enjoyably.
//.hack sucks fucking balls worth anime ever
Boku no Pico
>Look at this shit /a/, look at it.
>Who the fuck acts like that? IM IN LOVE WITH ONIICHAN
>WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH ONIICHAN
>THATS YOUR FUCKING CHARACTER
>THATS ALL THE CHARACTERS IN THIS FUCKING SERIES ARE DEFINED BY, THEIR RELATION TO GARY STU
>THE EITHER HATE GARY STU AND WANT TO FUCK HIS SUPER SPECIAL RICH WAIFU
>OR THEY WANT TO FUCK GARY STU BECAUSE THEYRE SUPER SPECIAL WAIFUS THEMSELFS
EVEN KLEIN IS DEFINED BY HOW HE WANTS A SUCK OF KIRITOS COCK
>THESE CHARACTERS ARENT EVEN HUMAN BEINGS
now there's a good series
The first few arcs were pretty good, I think it fell off at the end and the girl was shit. Log Horizon is better by leagues so far.
now theres a funny serie
so I watched the first episode today and nobody was freaking out that they were trapped in a game and none of the relationships that the main character has with his friends has any depth. please tell me it gets better than that because I want t like it.
Easy there buddy... you are going to have a heart attack or something
it gets way better but I can't tell you without spoiling Shit
How the fuck did you get past my filter?
Dat question mark sword art online?
I'm a genius birch
fine ill give it till episode five before I decide then.
>But my waifu is still from SAO
Why does everyone hate SAO on /a/
my thoughts exactly.
great you'll enjoy
Because it's shit. I mean it's not as if /a/ hates things for no reason right?
Are you retarded? You should rewatch episode 1 if you don't think anyone was freaking out about being trapped, because there were definitely some people, although they were pretty much in the background, but you could easily tell.
And whenever they get attacked by pkers, or maybe that was ep1, in which case you're even more retarded, is when you'll see how well naotsugu and shiroe can fight together, and their relationship. And you'll see more shit with shiroe/akatsuki later on.
Yeah, well that's like, your opinion
mmm yessssss fight on the internet more I love it.
First half was pretty enjoyable, if melodramatic and anti-climactic. I can understand Kirito being a mary-sue character, since he's not actually super bad ass, he's just a dork who's good at video games, and also cheated, so of course he keeps wrecking everyone's shit, it makes sense for him to be a bad ass in the game world.
The second half took a shit on everything decent about the series, but I guess that happens in literally every anime series ever.
It should've just ended with them dying with the game world in the first half.
Fight? What? I was just telling you what you said was wrong and that you were retarded for thinking so.
shit wrong picture
>Yeah, well that's like, your opinion
>Stating the obvious
What was the point of this post?
retarded is an insult. don't get me wrong, I hate retards, but opinions cant be retarded because they aren't right or wrong.
I got bored and wanted people's opinion
Oh god I think this is what gave me a fetish for silver haired girls.
Huh? Wait, what?
Anime was good.
I still wished the game would have got funded, it would have been my dream MMORPG as someone who hates every MMO I come in contact with.
I just want an MMORPG that punishes you for fucking up and doesn't hand you legendary items on a silver platter..All the while playing as a loli
I actually like the second half because it touches on how they dealt with it after they escaped and kiritos relationship with his sister, and also I loved the happy ever after style ending.
but if they fuck up gungale online ill be so mad
What? I called you retarded because you said no-one was freaking out and that Shiroe had no relationship with anyone, that isn't an opinion. I don't care if you like SAO or not, it doesn't bother me.
I thought GOO was already fucked up
> first episode
Huh? what relationships? And yea I remember people freaking out except MC because he is a loser that got an excuse to stay online forever.
GGO is the first arc where we actually get character development,
Well, technically, Aincrad also had character development, but Progressive is retroactive, and the anime skimmed over much of Asuna's development.
I know nothing about it, haven't read manga. wayyyyyyyy behind. so I heard theres nothing but female avatars?
The fairy game didn't have the same sense of urgency, I called Kirito retarded every time he acted like someone actually died in the fairy game, I got super pissed when he got all sad about being killed in the game, it just brought out my instincts to call someone who cries at losing at video games a faggot, and the shit with the sister was unnecessary, forced drama that I didn't get at all, if my sister told me she were in love with me, I'd never talk to her again, even if she were actually my cousin or whatever, that's still fucked up and had no bearing on anything. Asuna also went from being pretty fucking important to having a couple of scenes, all in which she was completely useless, getting raped, and then pretty much being forgotten about in the majority of the last episode.
Fuck I'm mad.
And so I gave you my opinion and you said
>Yeah, well that's like, your opinion man.
Are you some sort of autist?
agreed. I feel like a minority for liking the ALO arc, but the perfectly timed impalement was just so damned satisfying.
The SAO manga hasn't even finished the part that the anime is up to. (If I recall, he only just got passed the guardian bosses.)
And no. Most avatars are pretty buff men and such. Kirito just ended up with a feminine avatar, thanks to the randomized avatar shit.
Man, the first few episodes are only mildly ridiculous. SAO doesn't even become terrible until the second cour. Before that it's just a boring bait and switch romance show disguised as an action show. Second cour it becomes blatantly terrible wish fulfillment bullshit from the git go.
you obviously cant relate with kiritos character then. please redirect your attention to a different anime now.
I know the feeling anon. The martian queen is one sexy lady. to bad she as shit taste for men... or ducks
The log cabin episodes were the best part of SAO.
This all makes sense though.
He was in SAO for 2 years. You expect him to just shake off the fact that, to him and many SAO players, VR is no different from RL?
The only thing about what he did that's unrealistic, is mercilessly killing the two Salamanders at the beginning.
>I called Kirito retarded every time he acted like someone actually died in the fairy game
He spent two years in a game where dying in game meant dying for real. A bit of PTSD, maybe?
>thanks to the randomized avatar shit.
I think you mean gary stu bullshit.
GGO has randomized avatar.
The avatar he got was just due to long game-time, stuff.
His avatar doesn't even do anything, aside from trick people into thinking he's a girl...
If he was suffering delusions that bad he would be locked in a mental ward and nobody would let him near a VR set.
>if my sister told me she were in love with me, I'd never talk to her again, even if she were actually my cousin or whatever
That's pretty edgy.
Literally the only person to get a super feminine avatar. The only one. And it happened because of a glitch. Just more super special exceptions for Kirito the Gary Stu.
>His avatar doesn't even do anything, aside from trick people into thinking he's a girl...
Always bet on hitbox.
Good point, I forget that people's brains work that way.
Jeez, now it's edgy to be disgusted with your sister wanting to fuck you? What's next, will it be edgy to not fuck babies?
>What do you mean you wouldn't fuck your infant son, anon? What are you, edgy? Tips fedora lol!
That's actually true. the only reason he got a VR set to save Asuna is because he had a pretty cool bro irl
That's wrong though. He's using his outdated microwave.
It's not like his delusions were debilitating. His perspective of life and everything around him changed. Not that he was imagining funky shit floating around, and swinging swords around.
maybe on screen, but...
What? Since when? I told you it was just something given due to the game-time accumulated on his Seed account.
Clearly the smartest anime I've seen in years.
well yeah he got it back because his irl bro pulled some strings and had some strolls down the legal gray area for him.
SAO isn't even especially terrible unless you are mortally offended by things which pretend to be about video games when they really aren't. That's pretty much it. It's a passable romance story with a predictably bland MC, so it's like a ton of other anime out there. If you enjoy that sort of thing then you'll enjoy SAO.
If you go in looking for an action series about video games you will be understandably peeved, but else-wise I can't think of a reason to hate it. Kirito isn't terrible enough in his own right to hate the entire series.
First half breddy good
Second half not breddy good
Log Horizon is infinitely better
I wouldn't really call Kikuoka a bro, but okay.
Holy shit someone with my opinion.
Shit writer if you pay for this show or watch it on tv you are bad
That reminds me of something I don't get about the series continuing past SAO's game.
Why do people continue playing these games? The first one showed a fucking glaring design flaw, but then everyone just jumped onto the fairy game. When it turned out the fairy game was being used as a proto-mind control device, you'd think they'd all learn their lesson this time and go play sports or play an antique game system or something, but they just keep going back to it.
The fact that you're completely immobile and vulnerable irl while playing these games is a big enough design flaw on its own, why would anyone put themselves into these death traps time and time again?
Shit after first two episodes. Slowly down hill from there
I forgot his name :P
>I know he isn't that much of a bro
I thought SAO was good. ALO was shit
I've never really noticed that before now....hmm....
>watch it for free on computer im good then
I hate it because the entire second half was shittier than almost everything I watched that year.
I think someone's mad.
the overly-evil villain saved the arc.
Nothing could have saved that arc. Don't get me wrong, I found his antics amusing, but it was far from enough to salvage the entire arc.
Yea I notice that a lot of the hate came from MuhMMORPG but they rarely admit it.
Sure SAO is bad but not THAT bad.
>why would anyone put themselves into these death traps time and time again?
When I realized that episode 14 wasn't the last episode, I got legitimately mad at an anime for the first time in forever.
Well, there's a number of factors that play in, I assume. Kirito himself was sort of forced to go back in. That's the easy part.
But then there's the problem about everyone else. Well, some people have pointed out, that VR is the only thing these people know.
Girls Ops also touched on this other point. Most of the main cast didn't have terrible lives in SAO. In fact, they had their most memorable experiences there, and had a lot of happy moments. Of course, the people who do go in are among the exception, and most DO avoid VR all together.
It's just one of the many, many stupid premises in SAO that you are expected to ignore. Like if you have any reasonable MMO gaming experience, the fact that SAO is nothing like an MMORPG and manages to get even very simple details wrong.
I got over this by episode 4 after realizing the video game setting was just a conceit of the author to create the specific world he wanted. It's why so many "game elements" seem arbitrarily grafted on to the world.
The author of the LN couldn't write for shit. He just made stuff up as he went, without thinking about what's going to happen next. Accel World was the same shit, but it was at least better than SAO.
It looks like the writer is getting better now though.
I'd even bump it up to average. If you put all the shoehorned haremshit and incest out of the way, it was an action anime with an actually decent romance plot.
Seen much fucking worse, thats for sure.
Yea. I would expect that the government would just ban the damn thing. I thought that he iswas going to use an underground/illegal way to get back to save his waifu or something but nop.
I don't like the characters. There wasn't enough time spent showing them other than Kirito being bland MC. Asuna had some screen time but quickly became useless after "my waifu" shit, the other girls weren't even important other than maybe Sachi for one episode. The only characters I liked were Klein and Blacksmith The Black, they seemed pretty realistic. Characters design were pretty good though. I blame most of the problems because it wasn't well adapted from the novels.
My personal preference in MC are those that use their heads to win battles instead of brute force, friendship or "willpower".
But he had no problem killing other people who were just playing the game. So its just that he has a problem with allies dying.
Okay but you guys have to excuse the guy for self-inserting, that's a trait shared with pretty much all people who make anime and manga and whatever. You pretty much can't watch anime at all if that's really a problem for you.
That too, I was wondering why wouldn't these games be banned? How many things get banned in various countries because a retard somehow killed himself using the product in a way it wasn't intended to be used? Meanwhile hundred, maybe thousands of people die in the first game and nothing legal happens?
>if just ignore all the shitty parts, it's actually mediocre
Wow, how insightful.
I would have liked that they just focused on the first half and made it 26 episodes, so that we could actually see the romance not just implied. Speeding through just made all of the romance feel rushed and forced for the sake of plot.
Why ban it?
The technology is rather useful, and there's a lot of money to be made with it, including using it for training and other things pointed out in later arcs.
Not to mention, the problem behind the NerveGear was that it was largely created by a single guy, in a point in time where regulation on FullDive tech itself was null. Some knew about the powerful electro-magnet, but figured it was fine with the safety. (Not expecting its creator to create a backdoor to his own creation)
The Amusphere is more of a joint project, and is better regulated. It's not impossible to think that this series of events would happen.
How much do I need to pay Madhouse to adapt Progressive?
thank Christ somebody else gets it.
>But he had no problem killing other people who were just playing the game. So its just that he has a problem with allies dying.
You could say that he on some level just saw them as NPCs, who happened to be enemies. Even in SAO, when he killed someone, he only had a problem with it after the fact, when he reflected on it.
>Okay but you guys have to excuse the guy for self-inserting
No I don't. Not when it's this blatant and the MC is this bland. Like, if I had to think up traits about Kirito I don't like I can only think of really shallow stuff like his taste in clothing and such because he has basically no personality outside of that.
>hat's a trait shared with pretty much all people who make anime and manga and whatever.
No it's not.
so arpeggio of blue steel then?
This >>100268318 is what we need.
Unfortunately, when the anime was first made, there wasn't enough content to full in 25 episodes of only Aincrad arc. So they compressed it into 14, and butchered everything.
How did Kirito level up so fast on his own without getting killed? How did he cheat the game and be the guy who created it? Why was the creator so autistic that he had to trap everyone in the game? Why did Asuna turn to Kirito-dependent shit? Why did he have a harem, and what made them think I care about his harem adventures?
This anime was truly awful. So incredibly flawed. One of the worst I've ever seen.
Did any of you faggots sit through that 100 minute special episode? I watched for 15 minutes and couldn't stand it.
Name one anime where the mc wasn't just a self-insert of the creator.
I really didn't get the harem, I didn't understand why every single woman just fell in love with him, without resorting to explaining it with the author's self-insertion and wish-fulfillment.
I actually do find that Asuna's personality is way better in Progressive.
Haven't seen it, but I will give it a try.
I like it. The girls are cute. Its flashy and colorful. Despite what /a/ tried to imply, it has a coherent narrative and improved on the original light novel.
I'd rate it highly compared to its peers (.Hack, etc)
ok what the fuck is a harem
>You pretty much can't watch anime at all if that's really a problem for you.
This takes it to a whole new level though. Harem, incest, knight in shining armor shit. It's all so bad
Provably for the same reason people do many things that bring pleasure but are bad for your health.
Of course normal people would never want to touch that shit again after experience a near death experience. But the lonely otakus would still come back for more besides I guessing that VR would be pretty indicting.
At least that is my take on that matter. But still doesn't explain why is so easy to get one of those VR helmets after the SAO incident
I honestly don't understand why /a/ develops so much rage at SAO.
>How did Kirito level up so fast on his own without getting killed?
Solo play offered the benefit of receiving 100% of the EXP from a monster kill. But then there's the risk of falling to paralysis and things like that. For the first 10 floors he should be perfectly fine, given his experience with the beta.
Additionally, he attended nearly every boss fight, so he never fell behind.
All he really needed to do was avoid monsters that could paralyse him, and he always had access to this kind of info.
>How did he cheat the game and be the guy who created it?
Cheat? The anime made it seem like he came back to life, but that's just the anime being retarded. In reality, he merely stabbed Heathcliff moments before he shattered into candy.
>Why was the creator so autistic that he had to trap everyone in the game?
>Why did Asuna turn to Kirito-dependent shit?
Author being a faggot
>Why did he have a harem, and what made them think I care about his harem adventures?
Does that count as a harem? I mean, it was never implied that any of them "could win". Honestly, the first book was just Asuna and Kirito. The other girls were mostly inserted for suffering (The author loves suffering)
Easy google. MC has a ton of chicks vying for his dick.
>How did Kirito level up so fast on his own without getting killed?
This one is easy to answer once you realize that SAO is not actually based on real video game mechanics. In a real MMORPG, solo play grinds to a halt long before you reach end game because MMORPGs are balanced around groups of players. It could be possible to allow for solo end game content by use of instanced dungeons that varied in strength depending on the number of players, but SAO has no instanced dungeons, it's a persistent world where nothing respawns (another thing which makes no sense). So there is only one boss and he's the same strength no matter who fights him, strength scales absolutely in SAO, yet solo players can compete with huge guilds, which makes absolutely no sense.
They jelly of Kirito?
For the reasons stated In over half of this thread's posts. Retard.
It was alright but I tried to rewatch it and wanted to die it was so bad. Basically this show is fine once and that's it.
nigga did his homework
He missed the real reason though. The MC is a beater.
I always rationalized that the monsters respawn on a level until that floor is cleared, or maybe there is a set amount of them in total somewhere in the tens of thousands
There's literally no way Kirito could have progressed at that rate. It's possible to level quickly in solo play by farming, but you can't farm in SAO because nothing respawns. He'd have no choice but to press further and further ahead, which would only force him to encounter enemies that cannot be defeated by single players.
"Beater" was just a general term for a player (usually beta tester) who basically hogged information that would be helpful, for their own benefit.
Is that you Frodo?
this thread has made a full circle back to the insult of retard. I really hate arrogant people.
>Does that count as a harem?
If I remember correctly, at the end of the show the cousin and the two insignificant characters were talking in the lunchroom about giving Asuna some time before going after Kirito's cock again. The harem was implied.
>The MC is a baiter
That's incorrect. The light novel has a different definition.
Shit respawns, it's just tedious, because respawns are regulated. I think there are even instances where it takes days for something to respawn.
SAO allows for a lot of Frodo.
Can you retards get it in your head that monsters respawn? Its clearly stated in the novels. You actually SEE a monster respawn in the anime even though they didn't go into details
Refer to >>100269369
Monsters did respawn (aside from those in the boss rooms)
It was just super tedious.
Also, SAO in general is super unbalanced
I suggest you get the fuck out of /a/, because arrogance is a defining trait of most /a/nons.
If you cannot get past the insults and the arrogance and just reply to the arguments, then you are just as bad as them.
It's explicitly stated that there is no respawn in the first episode.
define super unbalanced because im interested.
and now we're at the "fuck off" stage. please continue.
>SAO in general is super unbalanced
SAO the game has terrible design.
>MMO that functionally penalizes party play
What the shitfuck is this?
And yet, you see respawns. Monsters respawn. Slowly. One of the problems is that the people in the know killed off everything when it was new and plentiful and left the newbies in the dust with the scraps of their respawns.
Please post a screenie if you're serious. You're not trying to troll that players don't respawn right? We're specifically speaking on monster spawns.
Fuck off to whatever shithole site you came from.
I don't recall a single respawn, and the shown explicitly says there are no respawns and that exp is finite.
Just remembering this, who the fuck was the horseman at the very beginning?
IIRC, there was a boar that respawned. Don't remember clearly, as I'm actually at work right now. Maybe someone can help you out.
Anyways, in the LN it's clear that shit respawns.
I really like the idea of player made furniture, cooking, gear that equals the best drops, the funky crystals, etc.
The whole non magic based system was really interesting along with the 100 floors of levelling where once someone clears, everyone can access the higher floors.
I have not seen first strike PVP rules used anywhere either.
They give special perks to players who distinguish themselves. Dual wield to the player with the best reflexes, etc.
It said resources were limited. Not that there weren't respawns.
The entire game worked on a Risk vs Reward based system. While normally this isn't too big an issue, it followed this idealogy SOO much, that, as >>100269641 pointed out, it sort of penalized party play, by making it easier for Solo players to level, even if the party is safer.
Additionally, Unique Skills were purposefully introduced to be game-breaking. Up until a few weeks ago, I didn't think this, until I reread the LN. Kirito was able to take out a Boss, with over 2 thirds of its health, because of Dual Wielding.
And there were supposed to be TEN skills like this.
technically dot hack took the idea from a science fiction novel written in the early nineties so SAO is really a rip off of a rip off
Shit does respawn but there is not enough to go around for 10000 people doing some 24/7 grinding.
Give up and admit there are respawns bro. It'll feel better.
Except that SAO was originally made around the same time. (Web novel written in 2002.)
He says right here, exp is limited, then mentions areas being hunted clean. Shit does not respawn. Respawns means unlimited exp.
the first .hack game and the //Sign anime both came out in '02 so there's reason to believe .hack was in the planning room in at latest 2000.
it isn't literal. when you have five dollars in the bank, but a dollar is added in every three days, your bank account is still considered pretty limited, not infinite just because it constantly gains money.
According to an interview, he started writing in '01. Either way, the time scale clearly means he couldn't have gotten influence from .hack
There may have been some kind of game-related series going on, they both were influenced by.
This is what you are reduced to, interpreting vague speech to excuse bullshit. He clearly states that areas can be cleaned out and that money and exp are limited because of this. It is apparent to anybody with a brain that shit does not respawn. If it did respawn, you could not "hunt clean" an area because it would gradually repopulate itself.
You are misintepreting the statement.
XP is considered limited because if you keep adding players to a field, there will come a point where there isn't enough monsters/respawns for everyone. Respawns does not mean unlimited xp in this context.
This in turn will cause fields to be hunted empty. And stay empty because new respawns die instantly from the camping players.
In evidence I submit that episode 1 and various other parts of the anime clearly show monsters respawning. The LN states this explicitly. The context of Kirito's statement is also on the scaricty of spawns rather than monsters not respawning.
>gear that equals the best drops
I wonder if it's wrong that part of me is thinking that it sucks that the ONLY perks to frontline raiding in SAO are just epeen and a path to survival. "Saving everyone from a slow cachectic death? How lame. Phat lewtz, that's where it's at!"
I wish the anime kept the hostility between the KoB and the DDA because watching end-game raiders is not nearly as fun as watching end-game raiders sperg out against each other. Then again, I wish the anime did many things, but wishes aren't worth a damn.
Sure is a bunch of bullshit. The anime means what it said, and what it said is that shit is limited because areas can be hunted clean. It clearly says this, yet you bend over backward to defend this trash because Asuna is your waifu.
Maybe both creators played RuneScape when it came out.
>hostility between the KoB and the DDA
From what I understood, that was a one-sided rivalry, from DDA to KoB.
That same anime then proceeds to show you monsters respawning. k.
you can feel free to keep arguing on the internet. its very productive. you are a good person and so is your opinion. we all love you and wish that you would keep spamming stupid logic. its entertaining.
Stop changing your name.
>That same anime then proceeds to show you monsters respawning. k.
A shit series has no obligation to follow its own rules. Inconsistencies like this are the hallmark of a bad show.
Even in a regular MMO, if an open area is being farmed, and there are only so many spawns of a certain creature at any given time, it can still be considered 'limited', because no matter how many people want to farm it, there are only so many mobs.
And yet you can actually see a monster respawn in the very first episode. The no respawn also contradicts the LN
>arguing with SAOfags
Not even once. Fuckers are mad deluded.
Maybe Kirito didn't get the last strike bonus from the last few floor bosses. That that blacksmith could forge a weapon equal to his current best sword from materials on a lower floor....
Then again they haven't really farmed the higher levels that well. Someone might have got good drops and better gear than MC.
Most real MMOs have player crafts as a bridge to raid loot though. It feels bad.
now we've come to the part of the show I like to call: The anime is shit and so is it's logic!- The part where the instigator becomes angry and his argument starts to fall apart at the seems!
Except that's not what was described. He said the fields would be hunted clean. In a real MMO you can just wait for people to leave the server and then have the field to yourself. Nothing is ever hunted clean, the mob population can only be monopolized for periods of time.
PoH has a dagger/knife/giant fucking butcher's knife that completely ignores armor and defensive stats.
It's not falling apart if I disregard every conflicting statement.
Check and mate, motherfucker.
>Being this mad
Holy shit, there's enough other stuff you can complain about
I like how you don't even have an argument at this point. I showed proof of my claims and all you can do is show that the anime contradicts itself and act like that's a victory.
Is it viable as a BIS PVE/PVP weapon?
>It isn't a bad argument if I don't care what other people say
Viable like... This?
Guys, just stop arguing with him.
It was, probably mostly because Heathcliff gave zero fucks. Still. Guild rivalry and butthurt is a staple of MMOs.
It probably doesn't help that drop mechanics in SAO are not very good at all. Money and XP are divided according to damage dealt (gg tanks), but item drops are just randomly given out to party/raid members. The party doesn't even get to see what drops; shit just appears in individuals' inventories, so damage-dealers can get tanking shields, while tanks get glaives or shit. It makes it a bit difficult to actually farm for gear.
Why is he so focused on trying to defend that respawn thing? You're not limited to that as a hater, pick your fights, attack something weak in SAO. Don't keep banging your head on a losing argument against reasonable evidence
Like what. The fact that the anime contradicted its own rules?
At least he is not posting all in caps anymore.
The anime said resources are limited.
In the context of an MMO, it means that leveling up is Extremely difficult, because there wouldn't be enough to go around at any given time. So you either start early, or start super late.
If there were no respawns in SAO, then there wouldn't be mid-level players. All players would either be below 5, or near the highest level player.
The crafting thing was pretty good though. Just that crappy ingot from the dragon's lair was enough to for a weapon that the clearing party used many floors above.
They also give out quest rewards apparently. They had a very active trading system. The in game currency was valued. Making it possible to work towards whatever gear you wanted. During the Grimlock case, a brand new expensive rare weapon was enough to push a lamer into a top guild
But you don't have proof. You just thought you had proof, because you didn't quite understand what you were reading.
Then you tried to invalidate actual proof with "shit anime doing shit things doesn't count".
There's also how weapons can be upgraded, though only a limited amount of times. His two swords could be upgraded about 50 times. His first sword could go up to 6 times, which would last him until the 3rd floor, apparently.
He's in full troll mode! Logical fallacy usage coming in 3...2...1...
Everybody hit the deck! his rage is gonna explode!
I really like how there were a lot of skills. Weapon skills. Crafting skills. Useful skills like spot, identify, hide and lockpick.
Too many MMOs have skills/professions that plain suck.
im actually a big fan of this mechanic, though it think it should be reversed where high level loot could be upgraded less than low level loot,
>this with all of my agreement powers poured into it.
Or that are useful for some time but then it turn worthless in the next patch
LN noted that there were high lv hide/lockpickers dedicated to just running chests in the dungeon. Skip the fights, grab the chest and scram.
Most players without lockpick didn't dare to touch a chest anyway
I wonder if there was a mounted combat skill. Riding was apparently an unpopular skill (MMO where no one wants mounts even if they're impractical? Really?), but surely there was the option to swing your sword while atop your steed.
I sorta wonder how you train some of these skills, though.
Just run around like sanic?
>Extended Weight Limit
And speaking of skills,
>Two-handed Assault Spear (590)
>Heavy Metal Equipment (678)
>on a high AGI character
Would still love to see dragoon Asuna, Kawahara.
>Leader of biggest PK group in SAO
>Has weapon that ignores defensive stats and armor
>Can take out a tank as easily as anyone else.
>Korean faggot that just hates Japanese, due to being bullied.
I think the skill leveling system in SAO is some how broken
>Kirito has 604 / 1000 Fishing
>Never caught a single fish.
It really makes no sense.
Did you really look up those numbers?
There's also how he ground from 0 to 604 in the span of like a week and a half.
Why not? They're easily accessible.
In WOW you level up even if you catch shit.
I frequent the SAO wiki.
Any information is literally one keyword away.
Why did Reki have to release 8 volumes of shit before writing an actually decent story?
5 and 6 were good in my opinion...
I thought that at first, but then I realized Phantom Bullet is also complete shit.
I liked the first part, but when they get out I stopped caring the elf ears rub me the wrong way. Also I feel like they could probably have filled an entire season with that first plot, missed storylines and the oh it's done break game was too abrupt.
thread is kill?
So WoW lets you level a skill up to half-way to max, after a relatively short amount of grinding?
Log horizon. The creator wasn't the MC. The creator was someone else.
>Creator is NEET Princess
