Who is the best character in monogatari?
And why is it kaiki
They're all ok except for Cat
Hanekawa worst character, wish we had more senjougahara instead.
Hanekawa is the best written, Kaiki is the most entertaining and Mayoi has the best general chemistry with the MC.
crazy snake is the best
I like every character in the show except Ougi, Kissshot is my favorite.
This, though it took Hanekawa and Yotsugi a while to grow on me.
Also I prefer Shinobu to Kissshot.
OP of kaiki/senjougahara was hilarious too
I never would have thought so until this season but the best monogatari is CAT
So, who else here actually liked Nise?
Is this a binary yes/no? Then yes.
For me it was 2nd season>Nise and Bake>Neko
Mostly because I hated hanekawa because she got too much screen time and I found her really annoying until season 2
A true fan of the gataris loves all the seasons.
I didn't watch any of the series when they were airing so I didn't go in any the threads, but why is cat so hated? She was usually the nicest and doing the most for him, and didn't threaten/try and kill him as much as crab, snake, and bat. Not saying you have to like her, it's just I don't understand why people hate her more than snake.
She's obnoxious, unrealistic and unintentionally looking down on everyone around her. She really has nothing good going for her. She's not likeable in any way. Except for her boobs and cute face.
Shinobu a best
It was fun to watch.
>didn't threaten/try and kill him as much as crab, snake, and bat
Yes she did
One time out of "stop trying to save me" other out of jealousy
You know what I mean. Everything in Monogatari is realistic in the setting. Except for Hanekawa. She's intelligent beyond anything a high schooler can achieve, she's loving and caring and kind towards everyone. That doesn't fit in the setting. It's out of place. She's a Mary Sue-character, and hating them is easy.
Nisemonogatari introduces quite a few characters and concepts that become interesting later on (in s2) but as a season I found it less entertaining than any of the others. I think the story of the fire sisters is just less interesting.
We got Platinum Disco out of it, though.
>You know what I mean.
I know that you can't explain yourself properly.
>Everything in Monogatari is realistic in the setting. Except for Hanekawa.
How is "trying incredibly hard to be the perfect girl and effectively succeeding" any more or less realistic than "wants to be a plant so much that he conceptualises himself as one"?
>That doesn't fit in the setting.
How the dick doesn't it?
>She's a BUZZWORD-character
Yeah I find it hard to justify because Nise is full of nice elements (eg. Platinum Disco, Toothbrushing, Kaiki, loads more Shinobu than ever before, poised look Yotsugi) but it never quite comes together because of the story focus and the theme of 'fakes' that the characters discuss into oblivion.
Second season was one of the best series I have ever seen in a while using arcs, it actually made the season much more interesting because it made you connect the dots about koyomi's whereabouts and just made it way more interesting,
>Hanekawa not realistic
Can't blame you so much since Shaft messed up a few things with her stories. She strong and intelligent, on a genius level, but that was a cover for her bad home life, she says in the novel that she learned things because her parents never bothered to teach her anything. Its not a stretch to say that a gifted child could absorb a large amount of knowledge and effectively raise themselves, it happens in real life as well.
Her kindness is real (otherwise the plan to call her cell in Neko Black to flush her out would have never worked), but there are two sides to her at all times. Like the advice she is giving in Bake to Araragi about what he should do to be a better boyfriend is genuine, but also tinged with her frustration and jealousy. Tsubasa is human, and not Mary-Sue like at all, but she is also a gifted person.
Just finished the Nadeko Medusa episodes. Shit's getting serious guys
Female: I cant choose between Crab and Bird
Every gatari is best gatari
you haven't seen the glory of best guy till you've seen Hitagi End
In all honesty, I've been putting these series off for a loooong time now cause I expected something generic but couple days ago I found some time to marathon them all and I've gotta say, these series have caught my attention quite a bit.
I never expected it to be this good or are my tastes just off ?
I actually genuinely agree with that pic, I do feel it scores above average on all those aspects.
I didn't like the series itself, but loved the characters that were introduced. The newest season ranks way higher for me.
The whole thing Nisio was going for was that she's a character that's too nice. She's nice to the point it's sickening. She's not a mary sue, she's a broken individual.
