My younger brother borrowed Yotsuba from his school library, why am I raging?
Because its easily accessable from the school library?
Doesn't seem to be anything to rage about.
.. They carry mangas in school libraries now?
Yotsuba is great for everyone
i don't think you have a brother, enjoy your Yotsuba.
>why am I raging?
i have no idea why, there is no reason to rage.
If any mango would make it into a school libraby, Yotsuba would.
I have no clue. Maybe you should borrow it for a bit, read a chapter or two and calm down.
YOTSUBA IS FOR ADULTS FUCKING NEWFAG TEACHER GTFO RAAAGGGGEEEEE
You're an idiot for raging, Yotsuba in an average person's eye is a kids comic book, even though much of it can relate to adults.
they have for a while now
Yeah that's the only thing that seems off. Why the hell is manga in a library? Am I just getting old?
Other than that. Everything is okay.
I read the first 3 volumes of Yostuba& at Barnes & Nobles yesterday. I didn't buy any of them ^_^
because underage faggots are gonna read it and go: "this is that japanese porn right?"
you are a huge faggot
At least they don't have copies of Absolute Boyfriend and Bleach like my sister's library.
I work at a Border's and the people that do this drive us up the fucking wall.
Don't sit in the aisle and block shit.
Absolutely no idea.
You're a retard.
well maybe if you shits had some FUCKING CHAIRS this wouldn't be a problem.
Barnes and Noble have these awesome comfy chairs that you could fall asleep in and all borders has is a bench
IT ISN'T A LIBRARY
this is why i rage when i go buy manga at borders (only because of the coupons i get). gtfo so i can pick something out. don't sit on the floor and block everything like a pompous ass.
Not to mention ruining the books. Yeh, you might take good care, but you'll still leave finger imprints on the pages.
you're right, libraries have worse selection.
there was Mai the Psychic Girl at my school, but they took it out, cause it had boobies
Well shit, better that than fucking MEGATOKYO.
But I sat down at the Starbucks that they had there, I didn't read in the aisle. I also hate people that sit in the aisle.
You got a problem with the seating arrangements in my shop?
I didn't sit in the fucking aisle. They have a Starbucks in Barnes and Nobles and I read it at one of the tables they have there while I sipped my frappuccino. I also hate people who read in the aisles. Someone did it the other day and I couldn't get a look at the shelves because he was fat.
Please don't read in bookstores. You are inconveniencing both the customers, and the employees.
Honestly, don't put the employees through that shit. They work at a fucking bookstore, and have to deal with all kids of shit. Treat them with respect, buy your book, and leave/sit at a designated area.
People need a reason to RAAAAAAGE on 4chan now?
Why didnt he just steal it?
your faggotry never ceases to end
>They work at a fucking bookstore
You make that sound like that's a bad thing. I think it'd be a pleasant job.
it's a teenagers job or it's for the unskilled and uneducated adults
The wonders of being customer X.
I pick up a manga and read in the designated chair in my local bookstore because I know the manager personally.
It is true that sitting in the aisle bothers the hell out of them, so don't do it.
I actually went into a local Waterstones recently, and bought the first 3 volumes of Busou Renkin. As I was walking in, I thought "I bet that thing about their always being guys reading and not buying is just an exaggeration.".
I found the manga section only to see two guys, both about 18 - 20 standing there reading and they didn't move once.
Holy shit, are you a britfag?
Or, you know, any student, not just teenagers.
Funny, same here. I usually go in on a weekday, so I rarely even see people there; but a friend of mine said there around 5 or so young girls in there just sitting down reading manga.
So I went in there today and lo and behold; there they were.
Pity my local didn't have volume 1 and 2 of Busou Renkin.
I forget which bookstore it was, but last time I went: I bought Only Revolutions,, sat down in the cafe section of the store, and read it/drank some hot cocoa.
I don't understand why people read in the middle of the aisles.
What I'd really like to know is WHY would you buy Busou Renkin? It' readable at best, but not buyable. I really tried hard to like it since the valkyrie skirt girl is hot and I liked the Kenshin manga, but the storytelling, fights and characters just felt too weak and uninspired.
Lucky bastard. When I went it was a tall, average looking, nothing special guy, and a spotty sweaty fatass.
What's so special about being a britfag?
>What's so special about being a britfag?
you guys sound smarter and wittier than us.
>you guys are smarter and wittier than us.
Fixed that for you Amerifag
BOO YA, SCORE ONE FOR BRITISH WIT
I go to the manga section to take a look at the manga and make sure it is all still shit I can get online, see if there any chicks to hit on (there never are any) and then go to the world history section to buy real books.
more like obnoxious American wit.
Good one, anon.
>BAWWWWWWWWWW I HAVE NO DISPOSABLE INCOME
What about the scientific section for interesting and informative books?
Sup fellow Britfags, where is a decent place to buy Berserk.
Everywhere I've seen it its priced at £8-10
Would you buy a steaming pile of AIDS shit because you have some extra money to spend?
No but I buy manga because I don't like to sit in front of the monitor for hours reading images.
Then again I'm on /a/ all the time. See that thing in the back between Rave and Death Note?
Though it is true I spend most of my disposable income in booze, you could still buy better books, manga, anime, movies or whatever instead of Busou Renkin. I don't know about you but I can't afford to buy every damn manga series or anime DVD that comes out.
Imagine finding 10 people there and the aisle is like barely 3 feet wide. If I was going to read mango in the store, I would find a chair, stand up and read it, or go to a section of the bookstore that people don't visit often like World History!
Sometimes I like to make them move from the shelf constantly under the pretension that I'm looking for mango for the lulz.
But I rarely buy from Borders now, especially I can find mango for $2, brand spanking new.
And I'm not gonna tell ya either.
DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT TASTES.
Papi alone is enough for me to buy the series.
a)spend your extra money on manga and read it at home, alone anyways
b)read manga on the monitor and spend money on something useful.
c)don't read manga at all and have sex with a girl
Pshh... why even bother to take a picture of such small collection?
Fuck, you wasted money on D. Gray-man and Suzuka?
Would you tell me?
Because that's only part of it?
LIKE LOOKING INTO A MIRROR
But yeah back on the original topic, despite it being a bit weird to borrow japanese comics from a library, it's sort of a good idea since that's a lot of saved paper.
But man, wonder how many other girls "used" this volume of Fruits Basket..
>>10025777 I found the manga section only to see two guys, both about 18 - 20 standing there reading and they didn't move once.
I hate those faggots. Once I found a fat guy sleeping in the aisle. Disgusting.
I never knew you guys were such faggots, I'll be leaving /a/ now. Bye.
Get a better camera, christ.
On the other hand, that's a fuckton of money spent.
Shit's blurry, son.
And nothing of value was lost.
where do you find it for $2? Local store or online?
Different anon, but I didn't spend more than $2K-$2.5K on my collection.... and I think I have about 350-400 volumes of mango...
Phone camera, who cares about clarity.
A local store. I'm not saying which city.
Jesus fucking christ.
damn, you're lucky
Finally took the liberty to gattai my photos so I don't have to post 3 times.
That is a fairly large collection.
Its still 8.99 or just abit lower there
FUCK YEAH REBORN!
What languages are they in? I noticed some look different than the moon ones.
Chink, because they're cheap and my sister doesn't read moon.
My high school library had one corner devoted to comics and manga. About equal amounts of both, though most of the comics were some higher-level reading. The manga was Fruit Basket and other girly-romance crap with the really cheap artwork. There was Azumanga Daioh and Arika there however.
To be honest I love Fruits Basket's art. The character design is fucking win, though yeah, the rest might be a little bit mediocre. But since it's shoujo, it's not like the mangaka could do anything else without radically changing her style.
>>10026487 Cable and Deadpool on lower shelve.
You're my kinda girl/fag, wanna fuck ?
All those shounen would imply that I'm a guy. Also, /co/ is full of C&D fags. You could fuck them.
>>10026705 All those shounen would imply that I'm a guy.
Girls read shonen, guys read seinen, habeeb it.
You faggots actually pay for these things?
I should post my sister's shelf. The amount of shoujo on it makes me cringe.
not only do they pay, but they're proud to spend what little money they have on this shit, to support the American manga community.
>Girls read shonen, guys read seinen, habeeb it.
Proving him wrong?
actually i know a girl who reads vinland saga
What's wrong with shoujo?
My library started carrying every FAIL title out there. Naruto, Inuyasha, Bleach, and Fruits baskets.
(Hellsing among them, however.)
hellsing is in the same league as naruto and bleach
Fuck you Absolute Boyfriend was good :(
But the american manga community is a pile of shit.
>>10026869 Proving him wrong?
Not really. I know a lot of girls which read both shonen and shoujo.
At my local library, there was awesome shit like Buddha and Phoenix. But it was my local library not my school's.
>>not only do they pay, but they're proud to spend what little money they have on this shit, to support the artist.
Fix'd for you.
Girls read seinen. Hell, my little sister exclusively reads seinen. The only shounen she likes are Eyeshield 21, Death Note, and Flame of Recca. And the only shoujo she reads is After School Nightmare (FUCK YEAH!).
you didn't fix shit nigger
why not just say everybody reads everything.
I buy the mango because sometimes I want to actually support the artist that spend pretty much the majority of their life (unless they're Togashi or Kentaro Miura...) on entertaining us. Am I saying to buy every mango out there? No, but don't be a total fucking pathetic leech either.
Seinen is my favorite genre, though I do admit to having read a few shounen series too. I hate shoujo though, never touch any of it, the artwork alone is too unappealing. I'm a girl, too.
Prolly not manly enough for it.
I read josei, seinen, shounen, and shoujo... basically anything that would entertain me. Unless it's ero guro. I don't do ero guro.
You need to read some Kaze Hikaru and Your and My Secret.
Seinen is not a genre. Neither is shonen, nor is shojo.
send them donations instead of giving it away to shitty translators, faggot
Yotsuba is shonen isn't it?
There is a lot of good shoujo you just have to look for it.
I raged once I found out my high school library started carrying graphic novels of many kinds. Why the rage? 'cause they started doing it in the last couple of months before my graduation.
If nothing else, I'm glad that I got the chance to read V for Vendetta (years before the movie was released, if I may power up)
Said the person who most likely don't read moon.
it's actually seinen
Oh ok. But isn't Dengeki Daioh a shonen magazine?
My high school's library started circulating manga shortly before I graduated. In fact, I helped the librarian over there choose some of them. I just happened to be at Powell's Books when she was browsing their selection. She recognized me and asked my advice on titles.
I guess your right, it is shonen..
How do I look for it then?
Because he is growing up and will soon replace you
High School had a very few collections, one series I remember was Ranma 1/2, but my school had a lot of american comics, even simpsons
Wikipedia lists Dengeki Daioh as shounen, but I know this can't be. I mean, c'mon, it has Gunslinger Girl.
Such a winning comeback, dear sir!
says the person who thinks he can read moon
Actually, I can.
"Manga is so cooru and kawaii nowadays. We need to import manga so that we can get kids to use the libraries more. Hey, I hear that Naruto thing is the hip thing to read nowadays."
Manipulation and politics at its best.
Such a winning comeback, dear sir!
And I forgot to add...My high school had all of the translated Bleach and Naruto volumes in stock. Nothing else other than Volume 1 of Evangelion, Volume 1 of Fruits Baskets (;_;), and Volume 3 of Gundam SEED (they didn't purchase v1 or v2. I wtf'd).
Yeah, it was.
I'm not trying to be a dick here, but do you ever re-read any of these books? I only follow about 5 or 6 series and I'm a few volumes behind on each and I rarely get a chance to go back and re-read any of them. I don't see the point in spending so much money when you can get it for free, theres a few titles I just like to have on my shelf (or support the artist if you wanna be all gay about it) but I would never buy half the shit I read on my computer for free.
UR MOM CAN GO TO HELL
Also, it's へ, not え.
I usually re-read them once in a while.
On occassion, I would re-read the whole series again as I get a new volume. I did that with Please Save My Earth.
But I usually collect mango that stopped scanlation, the scanlation group is so fucking slow or I love the series so much that I'm willing to buy it although I read it already.
Holyshit, THAT much?
Glenat's French edition is a 7,5-8€ a volume.
Yes I do, mostly.
Yeah, it takes the piss abit. Everything is priced £5 apart from Dark Horse stuff
yotsuba's not a bad manga. in fact i like it alot. i find the fact that his school loans out manga (and apparently not bad ones) impressive.
