>After the movie and Railgun S, the anime will stop for the time being.
>"In the original manga, the Daihaseisai episode is still ongoing and the To Aru series itself is still growing. The anime will stop for the time being, but if you support the series in the other media, I think another possibility could arise. You just need to patiently stick with the series."

>chapter 2 returns to the situation from NT9.
>Everyone going "what the fuck Touma!? Why are you doing this?!", Birdway going all "I knew he would get more and more dangerous, blablabla, should've killed him earlier"
>Suddenly multiple Gregorian Chant level orbital nukes come from the Alliance appear in the sky targeting Othinus

I wouldn't doubt TouMAN becoming the villian - after all he wants other to be happy even if it brings him suffering and misfortune. Like making a new works for them with him not being part of it as a villian

Why did he need to kill himself? Even if he wanted them to be happy, there's no reason for he himself to die.
>>
>>100253540
>>100253589
That's not quite it. Othinus showed him a world where everyone is happy because he isn't there.

Which kind of makes sense, if IB didn't exist Crowley probably wouldn't have started his Keikaku and things would be better overall.
>>
>>100253589
His existence was bringing misfortune. He tried to kill himself, but Will-tan stopped him and he actually started fighting for himself.

>>
>>100253643
>because he isn't there

This is stupid. First off, if you're right and Crowley based his entire plan off Imagine Breaker, then the clones and even espers wouldn't exist. So clearly this isn't the case.

Second, Touma's non-existence would not have caused Accelerator to stop killing clones after the first.

This isn't a "the world is better off without you" scenario. This is a "the world is better for everyone except for you" scenario.
>>
>>100253736

I think Izzard genuinely loved her and didn't do anything to her, he just wanted to save her.
>>
>>100253870
Pretty sure Othinus can fill in the logic problems with "Fuck you, i'm omnipotent" if she wants.

The details are different, but the world probably would actually be a better place without IB, and therefore Touma, in it.
>>
>>100253971
And this isn't the idea behind what's happening here.

This is not a "the world would be better off without you" thing. It was never that. Stop pushing this stupid idea.
>>
Do we know if she actually changed the world to not have Touma in it or does this all take place in a state of limbo and she just shows him visions of what life would be like without him.
>>
>>100254079
Othinus isn't omniscient. She wouldn't actually know what a "world without Touma" would be like. All she can do is create a hypothetical world where everyone's happy except for him. Which is what she's doing.
>>
>>100254079
She changes the actual world, it's not visions.
>>
>>100253770
>>100253845
Although this is very much possible you would think Touma would realize at the same time his friends would never want him to off himself just so they get a better shot. Sure a lot of people have suffered but they have gained things as well from said events.

Mikoto now dimly realized something.

Mikoto had always thought she was someone special. She believed that her distance with this boy was closer than that of anyone else around him. If the boy had had a list with the names of a thousand people and, while he was browsing through it, came across the name "Misaka", he should have been slightly interested in that instant and looked at that name a bit longer.

However, in reality, that was not the case.

It was such a small realization, but it gave Mikoto’s heart a large shock. Why something this small hurt her so much, Mikoto didn’t know—nor did she have a way to solve it. If possible, she really wanted to run away. Mikoto wanted to run away from this inexplicable pain so much.

But Mikoto couldn’t do that.

She didn’t know why, but she couldn’t turn her back on him; she couldn’t leave the boy and not come back.

That would be very painful.

Compared to the pain now, it would be a lot more painful.

(…Ahh, I’m such an idiot.)

Mikoto sighed in her heart.

The boy seemed to not notice the internal struggle of Mikoto, only asking with a puzzled voice, “What are you smiling about?”

Had Touma never met Index that day, he would have spent it going to the arcade with Aogami and Tsuchi. There he would have met Misaki whom Aogami knows is the fifth level 5, Misaki knowing he's the sixth, and they would have had a grand adventure dealing with a group of skillouts led by that one dude who was Fremea's guardian and Shiage's best friend. Touma and Shiage would have then teamed up to fight Accelerator since he was killing clones in their territory.

The basis of the Kamijou Faction would have been formed on a single day had Index not shown up. And Touma would have gotten a girlfriend.

There are techniques which can solve this, and apparently Index' perfect memory is one of these. Ollerus Hliðskjálf is another one of these, which allows Ollerus to purify himself of the knowledge he's learned from many, many grimoires.
Either both of them have magic-god potential. Due to Index however not knowing how to purify her lifeforce into mana (originally she was unable to do this due to John's pen) her potential doesn't show, while Ollerus is known as the almost-magic-god.

> Not possessing the knowledge of how to generate mana from lifeforce
I'm pretty sure it's automatic anyway; you don't need to know the principles of magic to cast a spell, you just need to perform the requisite actions with the proper tools. Komoe merely followed Index's instructions when casting that healing spell, Angel Fall was enacted by cosmic coincidence, and Gremlin troops tricked Accelerator into performing a certain series of movements that resulted in Accelerator casting a spell without him realizing it.

If John's Pen were gone, she'd be far too OP to be able to make use of as a storytelling element. There's a reason Othinus gets nerfed at the end of this novel, and Accelerator previously. It's an unfortunate catch 22 for her, she'd have more luck in the relevance department if she took an active role outside of battle.

Recheck the Hawai'i arc, Accelerator was tricked into casting a spell just by moving his body a certain way. There probably have been espers that accidentally cast spells in the past, but Academy City would just chalk that up as unfortunate side effects of the PCP.

It's not like she came completely out of nowhere.

The Level Upper created the AIM Burst. Aiwass and Hyouka are similar beings, only for the whole of Academy City. The Misaka Network is smaller, but ultimately separate from the main mass of Academy City's AIM field. So it's not weird how it would have its own unique entity separate from Aiwass and Hyouka.

Well, we've known it for some time, we just didn't know she was sentient.

>“Yes. Those girls have a single large will that intervenes with the many physical bodies, so they don’t need to narrow their thoughts down to only one opinion. This doesn’t work with everything of course, but with options like the cake example they don’t have to choose because they can choose both. After all, they actually have multiple bodies.”
>>
>>100265730
Kazakiri's fear of Imagine Breaker wouldn't make sense if it couldn't kill her, I assume that if she gets touched Kazakiri dies, and another AIM being will be created in her place
>>
>>100265905
Well the thing is, not even Aiwass and Hyouka can just show up whenever they want. We know for a fact that Hyouka can only stay in the physical world for short periods at a time and it seems she has some special conditions she needs to meet in order to do so.

The Will of the Misaka Network should be much weaker than Hyouka, so I imagine she has a much harder time of it.

>>
>>100266042
She tells Touma she's going to meet him again in the original world, meaning that she can show up at will. Maybe she has a time constraint or something?
>>
>>100266073
>Crowley states that he and Victor Benjamin Neuburg evoked Choronzon in the Sahara Desert in December 1909.[1][6] In Crowley's account, it is unclear whether Choronzon was evoked into an empty Solomonic triangle while Crowley sat elsewhere, or whether Crowley himself was the medium into which the demon was invoked. Nearly all writers except Lawrence Sutin take him to mean the latter. In the account, Choronzon is described as changing shape, which is read variously as an account of an actual metamorphosis, a subjective impression of Neuburg's, or fabrication on Crowley's part.

Probably final arc material, as Choronzon is one of the big contenders for what's in Touma's arm.

Remember the AIM burst? It was only destroyed when Mikoto destroyed its core. Touma wouldn't kill Hyouka by touching her skin, but touching her core would probably do her in. From what we've seen, IB doesn't permanently damage regenerating objects unless it comes in contact with their power source.

I decided to not read the spoilers this time but from just reading the generals, this volume seems like the beginning of some heavy shit. WW3 tier. >If he hadn't had all the knowledge he gain from Tsuchimikado, Etzali and Aiwass he would have died in the first attack
Nope. Knowledge had nothing to do with anything. Accelerator survived against Vodyanoy and company because of Auto-reflect.

>that other time he survived against an archangel
Was also because of Auto-reflect and redirection.

The difference between the two lies in the type of power used. Vodyanoy's group used normal magic power, while Gabriel uses Telesma. Telesma eats into and overpowers AIM, so Accelerator's reflection was incomplete. On the other hand, Magic Power behaves just like normal energies and can be manipulated by AIM. The only problem was that the default equation which Auto-reflect is based on didn't take into account the laws of magic, so the ice spear turned into rainbow lasers.

You know his auto-reflect only works within a set of rules, do you? If he had not recognised magic as something fundamentally different to science he would have never be able to reflect it

>>100293659

How is Mikoto's railgun set up?

* The projectile is the coin, obviously. As it is made of conductive material, then it also serves as the armature.
* She is the power source.
* The rails are not really rails. Instead, she summons two parallel electrical currents going in opposite directions.
* Somehow she is able to control these currents perfectly such that they are traveling along the same length and are able to stay on their initial positions. No wonder she's a Level 5 -- if maintaining such conditions are easy enough, then we would be seeing at least Level 3 electromasters shooting high-velocity railguns.

Now, what happens when the circuit is closed (when the coin is tossed into the system)? The Lorentz force created by the current accelerates the armature away from the power supply. In traditional rail guns, the recoil effect is in the form of the rails pushing at the breech. Here, the resulting recoil force accelerates air occupying the area where the current is flowing (which is accounted for in all illustrations so far), causing a gust of wind flowing towards Mikoto (and continuing behind her, etc.). Reasons why this is not dangerous to her (as someone who has complete control over the system) should be obvious.
>>
>>100293865
We have seen level 4 electromasters doing it
>>
>>100293341
>If he had not recognised magic as something fundamentally different to science
Nope. He didn't even know ANYTHING about magic at that time. Auto-reflect simply makes a *-1 operation to the direction of whatever "energy" is coming in. The reason it works funny with Vodyanoy's magic is because a simple *-1 to the "direction" of a magical ice spear has more effects than just reflecting it back.

Yes he did, his experiences with Aiwass and his partners in GROUP were the little info he had, it wasn't real info in the normal sense, it was vector data about those sensations he had
And again this -1 thing is not automatic, if it is not contemplated by his rules it doesn't work, remember his fight with Kakine, he can't deflect attacks outside the rules unless he upgrade the rules, without having a glimpse of the rules of magic he couldn't be able of reflecting magic

The plot is a convoluted mess. Why can't you keep things simple but entertaining, Kamachi? More so in a side story with no bearing in the main plot.

It's two older terms for "love letter" that are rarely used in modern times.

Tsuchimikado just threw together two fancy-sounding message-related words to trick Oriana, so something similar in English could work.
Hell, Tsuchimikado explains what the two words mean afterwards, so it could even be kept as "Tsukebumi Tamazusa" to maintain the Easternness of the name.

Basically half-dead, bleeding with each step stops Acqua and gives Amakusa time to "defeat" him. Then he does this again with Birdway.

There's one guy going over them who has asked me about Vol. 1 and 2 so far, but I think his main goal is to unify terminology and improve readability.
He doesn't know Japanese, so there's no way he can fix a lot of the things that ended up just plain wrong during the J->C->E process.
>>
>>100299135
But they were done by Teh_Ping, he should have been using the japanese raws.
Are you sure it's the translation that's wrong or rather the edits by editors that messed it up?

PS: Index SSS chapter 6 scans are up on nyaa.

My volume of NT9 cost about $10 from CDJapan and using SAL, which takes 2-3 weeks to deliver. EMS, which delivers in a couple days, costs almost double that.

Kamachi is cool and all but what really peeves me about his writing is the fact that he'll have a conversation between a few characters and he'll completely disregard any other present characters' interactions even as he transitions to the next scene.
>>
>>100304972,23
You know, he probably does that because he doesn't feel said interactions are important enough to the situation at hand, and that's not really a Kamachi thing but something you'll find all over the place. I guarantee you as a fellow writer, in all of those instances he would have written something for everybody and then had to cut a ton of it out for the sake of the suggested word count (which he could ignore if he wanted to, but he'd have to deal with more expensive copies to try and sell) and for the sake of staying on track. He's gotten a lot better at staying on track and not waffling uselessly for pages on end, I've noticed.
>>
>>100304972,23
There's no point to it outside of including it for excess and page count sake when you consider it in writing.

And yes, there are dedicated novel sites. Aside from Nyaa, some of the faster ones are:
http://n-o-v-e-l.info/
http://www.manga-zone.org/archives/category/novel-download

Of course, some novels do make it onto Share/Perfect Dark and not on those sites. You can also go to jcafe, which is an English forum-based community that uploads shit from these sites pretty quickly, but it's somewhat selective. The admin did compile a search engine for the well-known raw sites, so you can also just use that feature with a novel/manga name (in Moon or otherwise) to hopefully find it.

You mean that with NT9 alone I'd have paid much more?
>>
>>100304972,66
Completely forgot they redid the prices recently. Is it your first time buying off Amazon Japan? They recently got a lot cheaper, so people still aren't used to it. Hell, the old shipping rate is still the first result on Google.

Let me give you an example. Their shipping rate used to be ¥2700 (base cost) + ¥300 per book. Now it's ¥800 (base cost) + ¥400 per book. That's a lot fucking better for smaller shipments, and really doesn't make a difference for huge shipments.

Old rates (via Google): http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=1039606
New rates (via on-site navigation): http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_201118730_shiptican?nodeId=201213490

This changed like...two-to-three months ago, I believe. Still, it's $28 for two books that would cost roughly $12 if they could be bought in-store. Good deal considering it's an import, though.
>>
>>100304972,67
Well, I knew that it was somehow fucked up, that's why I've always been using tenso.com. But I was doing that because of hearsay, I only used amazon Japan when I was in Japan.

>>
>>100304972,68
>>I only used amazon Japan when I was in Japan.
Is there a reason you didn't just go to a store? I hear they're everywhere and easily within walking distance. Or was it something to do with the free shipping inside Japan thing?
>>
Well it depended on what I wanted to buy, and on my schedule, too. I was in Daikanyama, Ebisu (Shibuya).
And you can't find Gamecubes without going to Akiba, which is quite far away. I often went a bit everywhere in Tokyo, but when it's fucking hot and humid outside, you're happy to have a cheap (well, free) and fast (the same day, or 1 day later, and you can choose when the delivery guy comes) service.

Also, Japan != Tokyo, sometimes you're better off with online shopping. And everyone uses it.
