A little over a month to go until the dubbed version of The Wind Rises comes out in the US.
You gonna go see it, /a/?
>Not watch the superior version
I'll wait for the torrent.
Is that Joseph Gordon Levitt?
I dunno which I will like more, I don't necessarily hate dubs, but I do hate it when they drastically deviate from the intended dialogue.
I do remember not liking hideaki's voice in interviews, so I dunno...
watched the japanese version
Anno's voice kinda of amateur, just get used to it, becasue same happened in most of Miyazaki's anime (i.e, the father in Totoro)
>Only a month or so until this movie is release in America
Wow, that was fast. Also, I'm expecting the dub to be better because I don't see the reasoning behind Anno voicing Jiro (I think that's his name). He's supposed to be a young man, and Anno does not make him sound like one.
I saw the Sub in Toronto last July. Fantastic film, but don't watch it dubbed. Just wait.
One of these days, some idiot is going to get Christian Bale to say your favorite phrase.
>William H. Macy
Jesus fucking Christ, Disney.
Your voice was fucking weird, Anno.
Is there a problem?
I already watched it in Japanese with subs so I'll check out the dub out of curiosity.
my body is ready
Actually Anno's voice was surprisingly fitting for Jiro's character. Keep in mind that when Miyazaki creates his characters he crafts them with specific seiyuu in mind. When he crafted Jiro, he felt that his character couldn't be properly portrayed by many actors and that he had to think outside the box. He finally felt that Anno was the only one who could properly fit. He took a huge risk and his coworkers thought he was crazy, but Anno pulled it off and it sounds great.
