After the cooking Papa thread, I was curious.
Which are the still running longest manga series?

The only ones I know to be long and still read are Hajime No Ippo and Jojo's Bizarre Adventures.

And I suppose Ah! My Goddess! has been around long too.

Yet I've seen neither hide nor hair of a single scanlated, or even raw, chapter.

This series is the longest continually running series.

Since 1976.

The Japanese love it for some reason.

There are longer ongoing series, but the longest which I still read is AMG. It's not even that interesting, but it's only a monthly and it's damn pretty, plus the rare chapters centred about the brown characters can actually be very good.

I'm in awe.

Hajime no Ippo is the first series I seriously read, and they were still trying to catch up back then. Jojo has different arcs and cast, so this is the only long series I still enjoy reading.

But now I'm damn curious about Golgo 13, I want to find something to read or watch.

Golgo 13 works mostly by stand-alone stories. Like a Japanese and more badass James Bond.

I loved her "I want to sing" face.

It doesn't feel like AMG have that many volumes though. Think I'm at 27 or so at the moment and I try and buy them when they appear.

It also reminds me that it is one of the series I have 50% old style and 50% new style on the books. Same thing with Videogirl AI. Just wish you could trade the old for new so it looks good on the shelves.

Golgo 13 is the longest running mango. KochiKame
(>>10023522) has the most compiled volumes in a mango ever (I think it was around 154 last time I checked) and it was only a few years younger than Golgo 13.
