Surprising to me, I guess the nips liked the ending more than we did. At least it wasn't Flaptako status.

>8,788 Kill la Kill
Not bad, but this will get higher as the show goes on; we'll only really get a sense of how it does after it's finished. For example Monogatari S2 started in the 33k range when first selling and ended at about 45k by the time it was done.

>8,327 Non Non Biyori
About as I predicted, with filling in the unfulfilled preorders prior to release it made it over 8k. I thought it could possibly break 9 actually, but whatever.

>12 arpeggio
Drafting the air of Kancolle all the way, although still a solid show on its own.

>>
>>100219213
I'm happy too just because it shows that Trigger is viable as new studio. You don't see those popping out of the blue that often, much less spiritual successors to Gainax. Whatever Trigger is working on after KLK will be exciting to see, since they will have a budget of more than 2 printer stacks of copy paper's worth for animation for their next show.

All they need is the proper manpower as a studio to get ambitious projects off the ground, and they could shit all over everyone else if they can produce a full series at LWA-level quality. LWA took forever because the whole thing was made by little more than a dozen people; if they could get more animators on board they'd be in business. To get the manpower to do that they first need the budget; Japan understands this and so even though KLK isn't the best show in the world, it is still a really promising start to what could be a big-name studio in a couple years.

Whelp, this doesn't look good.
What the fuck is up with Nagi no Asukara anyway? Why doesn't Japan like it?
>>
>>100220274

They love it after the timeskip. All of the volumes have jumped up into the top 100 and vol. 2 is projected to sell 3k now and going up every day.
>>
>>100220274
Awful character design and bad premise
>>
>>100220242
>they could shit all over everyone else if they can produce a full series at LWA-level quality.
But they can't, it would be economically impossible, requires serious manpower and perfect time schedule, it's why that sort of animation is reserved to OVA and movies.
Only Kyoani were able to did that with Hyouka, but that was an once in a decade thing.
>>
>>100220299
First time I was ever thankful for a time skip.
>>
Every season I am reminded that Japan's shit taste ruins everything. Good shows will never get the second seasons they need. Shit shows will go on forever.
>>
>>100220312
Wrong and wrong.
>>

>>
>>100220242
>>100220324
Didn't they get loads of money from their LWA2 Kickstarter? Here's hoping they'll use those money for good.

>>100220341
Buy those 'good shows' BDs yourself then.
>>
>>100220482
>Here's hoping they'll use those money for good
IIRC they used some of the money to actually pay the animators. They probably got their first hot meal in six months.
>>
>>100220482
The money they got for LW2 is going into LW2, and most of the surplus will be for actually paying the animators.
>>
>>100220482
every cent of that is going into the LWA2 episode, and even if they used it for anything else, it would barely cover two episodes of even KLK.
>>
>>100220482
It's not only money, it's also time, quality control, and number of workers.
Kyoani can do it because they do everything in house, Trigger are like most other studios and hires free-lancers.
>>
>>100219011
That's higher than S1, isn't it?
>>
>>100220242
>since they will have a budget of more than 2 printer stacks of copy paper's worth for animation for their next show.
That's not how it works. They will have as much budget as their producers decide and they may very well decide that their shit sells on the name alone.
>>
>>100220578

S1 averaged 7.5k
>>
>>100220596
and lets not forget who owns their parent company
>>
>>100220438
What that is is that everyone is tripping over themselves to get that Sonico figma, which is a limited edition BD and incidentally also a really fucking pretty/sexy figma.

Once those figma bundled ones run out it'll drop like a rock. Probably. There are a lot of Sonico fans out there who could keep it afloat. Maybe they like this anime and will get it precisely because it's proof that she is an actual character and not purely a wank-aid mascot. In other words a justification for all the other sonico merch that they've already got. Release really pretty merch first just to get people enchanted with the character, -then- make the anime so that even if it's shit people will buy it because she's their waifu? Sometimes Japan's marketing strategies are so good they make me sick.
>>
>Arpeggio of Blue Steel

What the? This CGI thing was good?
>>
>>100220643
He doesn't, you retard. He's just a representative of Ordet there. Major shareholders, who actually own the company, have nothing to do with Yamakan.
Also, that fucking company has proven to produce shit looking shows like KLK, WUG and Arrpegio, so I don't expect anything good of them.

so i could live with it being best seller.

Seriously, get your shit toghether Japan.
