Best Key girl.
Kud is olev
I love you kud.
I love you.
shiori a love
Calling it right now
That's not ***.
That's not Nagisa
>Don't delude yourself, you know I'm the best
Truly best key girl.
Moon? Yeah she's pretty great
Shame Terra had to ruin the ride.
Does Rewrite have any sad stuff in it? I completed one route and it was just so mudane and not-key like. I wanted to cry my eyes out, not become some superhuman
That's not Mare
Yeah it has sad stuff, but the final route, Terra, isn't the emotional climax Key is famous for. They were trying something else but they failed. Don't get me wrong, Terra is an amazing ride, however the ending wasn't "emotionally satisfying" if you will
Do Kotori's route next if you want emotion
lemme guess, you played Chihaya's route?
I cryed in Kotori, Lucia, Shizuru
Ah yes I was looking for the Lucia thread
Based on what he said, it could have been Lucia or Chihaya
When did you cry during Lucia's?
That is correct.
Aight, thanks. I took a break for a few months to build up anticipation again.
But that's not Saya
So, would you hold her hand?
You're not real
>Used to be upset that everyone in Little Busters lived because I thought Riki and Rin wouldn't learn their lesson that way
>Have a dream where me and Riki are waiting at buses in front of the school watching everyone come back one by one
>Start crying tears of joy in the dream
>Wake up just fine with them all living
You're a butterfly
Guess it's time for me to spread my wings and fly
Shake it now!
>you will never be the number one body guard and most trusted advisor of Gaia's young holy woman
>you will never be her lover and equal
>you will never work with her to rid our great mother of the scourge that is humanity
>you will never embrace in your final moments as the Key sings, comforted in each other's arms celebrating your success in the instant of emotional and physical climax as your bodies break apart and return to the earth
>there are people on /a/ right now that don't want to give humanity a painless and noble end to all the strife and suffering we've caused and inflicted upon ourselves over the years
>there are people on /a/ right now who don't want to save the world and its inhabitants by allowing humanity to slip into peaceful, eternal slumber
Living is painful and you're waifu awaits you beyond the Key's song. The choice is clear. This is the only future we have.
DOES IT MATTER IF IT'S NOT REAL AS LONG AS THE DREAM IS BEAUTIFUL?!
Shake it baby
Twist and shout
Come on baby
We're gonna work it all out
Well, you look so fine
You know you look so good
Come and twist a little closer, honey
Just like I knew you would
Gaaaan! Why am i being turned around!?
Seriously, the absolute best
Why choose one girl when you can have two?
I bet she makes freaky sex-noises.
I love how Grisasia always makes its way into these threads. I love even more how no one cares and it's basically on topic.
Also, posting Grisasia bestgirl.
>You will never eat a salami sandwich with Sasegawa Salami
I'll never understand anyone who thinks like this. Please educate me on why Terra-Kagari is so terrible without resorting to copypasta or reading into ridiculous minutiae.
Looks like no one is posting Mio today.
I guess they finally gave up and accepted that Mio died in a bus crash.
Anyway, Mi...who was I just talking about? Oh, right. Midori a best.
Cockroach has missed a couple of threads; I think he might be doing realworld stuff.
But midori can only exist in the dreamworld so you're already dead too.
just lurking today.
Show your Key cred.
I don't know copypasta, I don't know what "minutiae" means, so call me on it if I use it, and finally I haven't played since february last year so my memory of details is kind of weak.
Terra Kagari is terrible simply because there's no real reason to feel attachment to her. Your first encounter with her is nothing interesting, and she's not even human at that point. When you meet her again she's smarter, but she's almost like a stuck up princess. You have to protect her for no real reason, and she's not even what I would call interesting. All the other girls are more fleshed out I would say, you can understand who they are and what they come from, as well as having more outgoing personalities. Terra Kagari was awful mostly in the sense that she's completely bland compared to every other girl in the entire series, no exceptions. Every single one.
I've been meaning to replay it for a while, maybe I'll start it up this weekend. Hope what I said is enlightening as opposed to nonsensical
Close, OP. You got them mixed up though.
Alright I googled Minutiae, which I probably should have done to begin with, sorry, I've been up too long and should probably hit the hay
What if the real world was actually Riki's dreamworld about his friends creating a dreamworld for him?
>Yeah it has sad stuff, but the final route, Terra, isn't the emotional climax Key is famous for. They were trying something else but they failed. Don't get me wrong, Terra is an amazing ride, however the ending wasn't "emotionally satisfying" if you will
Holy shit, quit trying to quantify emotional impact.
I, for one, found Terra's ending amazingly satisfying and in my opinion it definitely succeeded at what the author was trying to accomplish with it.
What you're complaining about is that nothing in Terra was anything like that part of Refrain where the vocal version of Haruka Kanata plays. You're complaining that it didn't make you shed endless amounts of tears. You're complaining that it didn't make you feel all the feels.
That's a stupid thing to complain about; Rewrite was never about making the player cry the same way that other Key games do. Blame the different head writer if you want to, but I don't think it's fair to blast a game for not being what you expected it to be.
That sounds true, and it makes fine sense, but I don't remember anything ever SAYING it's true so I'm going to leave my friends on the bus, Rin in a trauma, and Midori with the bill for our fine steak dinner tonight.
We need you to do your job! Amongst a sea of mediocre routes you're forced to play through for Refrain, Mio's refreshingly excellent. Leo whoever deserves a fucking promotion.
It had plenty of sad moments.
Loli Akane a best.
Thank you for the full response, devoid of copypasta or whining about "how she treated Kotori in Kotori's route".
I... honestly, I can't call Kagari uninteresting at all, I fell in love with here generally because of the ridiculous things she says in Terra.
That said, I don't make a distinction between Kagaris to begin with, they're the same character to me anyway.
>Hey, Riki, check it out! A new challenger was just added to the battle rankings!
Different guy, but I simply expected to be engaged in the story, but with how it was handled, I couldn't do this. It didn't even feel mildly worth caring about in any way. The story may have been good if there was any reason for me to care about the plot, but there wasn't, so it failed for me.From the at least 50 routes I've read of varying sizes, it's byfar the least enjoyable and engaging
Yes he does. Ive said ir before and I'll say it again, Harukas route felt like a chore to me. Not bad, but getting to refrain would have been fast to get to had it not been for her route.
things are busy, wont be around half the time.
Kotori's route is Romeo's attempt to write something "Key-like". Lucia's route is R07's attempt to do the same while mixing in his own typical ridiculous crap.
It's always amused me that both of them succeeded at this while the only in-house writer failed miserably at his attempt with being Key-like in Shizuru's route.
Terra Kagari is the double of moongari.
Kotarou falls for her due to his spending who knows how many days with moongiri, sort of a inherited consciousness as a parting gift from moon.
Just because she's not human doesn't make the love between the two any less interesting or good.
She might have seemed bland to you but she was pretty interesting to me.
She was certainly more fleshed out than chihaya and shizuru, at the least.
It's an unfortunate reality that most posters in these threads expect AS/Refrain types of 'feels' in all KEY stories and can't appreciate any other type of ending. It's pretty myopic and deplorable, honestly.
He failed because he's a terrible writer. What a hack.
>Best girl has the worst route
This is like an unspoken law for VNs.
First of all, you're a faggot, not for your opinion, just letting you know
Second, Key has always been known for their emotional endings. That's what made their company a success.
Third, you're free to like it, opinions are completely subjective, however your opinion is a bit out of the blue. He asked if the other routes was sad. As such I replied it had sad stuff, but the ending wasn't emotional. If you were looking for something moving, the ending lacked that. Plain and simple
Finally, off course I'm going to blame it for not being what I expect, it's like if I went to a Quentin Tarantino film and it turned out to be a romantic comedy set in post WW1 Germany
The only good thing about Haruka's route was watching Kanata be a Queen Bitch. Goddamn, that was so hot.
I can't wait for the EX translations.
Well, why didn't you care? Because the heroines were barely involved?
My favorite character was always Kotarou and Terra is very much his route, so I found it incredibly engaging.
I dunno, I see the exact mentality you have from a lot of English-speaking players, but everyone I've talked to who played the game in Japanese says that Terra is more or less the best part. Maybe it's just the translation?
Not always true.
I liked visual novel Riki. Some of the stuff he said and commented on were pretty funny.
Moon Kagari is not Terra Kagari
A double maybe, but not the same person. They don't have the same memories, personality, or emotions.
They are two completely separate entities
Yeah, it's pretty annoying. Look, an example of a person just like that:
Understandable. But even if Midori is just a sidequest for me, you should know that if you ever disappear completely, I will be here. Waiting for the destined day that people forget about you and eventually love me.
I posted spoilers for her route in this thread some time ago if you wanna check it out. Probably somewhere in the last month hell if i remember.
I never said that moon kagari = terra kagari
Well midori is just an imaginary friend in real life so she probably can't exist short of riki saving mio and mio having some split-personality break down and recessing into her own mind[/spoier]
So around when doki is done translating?
>They don't have the same memories, personality, or emotions.
Terragari has some knowledge of what Moongari was trying to do by the end of Terra, at least. And bullshit they don't have the same personality.
>Finally, off course I'm going to blame it for not being what I expect, it's like if I went to a Quentin Tarantino film and it turned out to be a romantic comedy set in post WW1 Germany
You're terrible at analogies.
Long before you got to Terra, you should've known that Rewrite wasn't the same genre as Clannad. If you didn't notice this, then I have nothing else to say.
All I know is that I heard it's good, that's all I need to know.
you're right about that.
>"im getting everyone I can to teach her how to listen".
>one choice throughout her route
>Misha being a bad ed
Its like they went with that rule and fucking ran with it. made me sad
Il give you that. I found myself liking Kanatas character a lot for some reason.
You're not welcome here.
Yeah I'm terrible at analogies, I know that, thought that one was pretty good though
Furthermore, every route until then had the "emotional ending" you could expect from a Key game, it made Terra come completely out of left field.
I would guess that maybe Tanaka's writing works miles better in the native language, or the Japanese players are better cultured towards the type of final route he delivered in Terra. I dunno, I liked how Cross Channel worked out, but I couldn't get into Terra. I can appreciate different types of stories and conclusions and I often value a lot of subtlety and tone shift routes and whatnot more than I value Key's traditional scenes and style, but Terra did not work for me at all. I'd definitely re-read it and give it another try when/if there's an anime announcement, but I just don't really get it. Maybe it was because I'm usually not too conscious of the protagonist I'm playing as, so I was never that interested in Kotarou.
>Implying Midori is not planning to go full Tyler Durden once they get back to the real world
It is. A ton of suffering though. The suffering meter is of the charts.
>You're terrible at analogies.
Especially since "a romantic comedy set in post-WW1 Germany" sounds like exactly the sort of thing Tarantino would do.
Wrong pic, you silly goose.
That's not cockroach
GODDAMMIT MIO HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE?!
Hey, lots of Key girls are imaginary!
> So around when doki is done translating?
Yep. See you again in 2025. Good thing imaginary girls don't age.
But that's wrong, it didn't happen for months, I'm just later than everyone because of stupid daylight savings time.
>that one was pretty good though
It was shit. It would be more applicable if you watched some trailers/parts of the movie and knew what you were getting into, but still somehow expected the ending to be the same as the other films.
As for your second point, the actual content of the routes were a pretty good indicator that the ending wouldn't be what *you* expected.
That's pretty hopeful of you. See you at the turn of the century perhaps.
I'm happy you're here, cockroach. Even if I like Tomoyo.
Just one. Me. Bow down to my Unlimited Daily Dose Works.
Only one, fortunately for us.
Mio is Legion.
I think you're mistaken, there is only one Mio
Looks like you accidentally posted best girl there.
Fine, it's like if Devil's Due turned out to be a Rock Opera starring Gene Simmons after the first half hour. That better?
As for the second part, no, they weren't at all. Every single ending was emotional except Chihaya's.
>Maybe it was because I'm usually not too conscious of the protagonist I'm playing as, so I was never that interested in Kotarou.
That would probably do it.
>Furthermore, every route until then had the "emotional ending" you could expect from a Key game
Not really, no. They're emotional, but not in the same way Key games typically are.
Terra's ending is emotional, but also not in the same way Key games typically are.
Go back from where you came from Midori
I think he did it on purpose. Also, it seems like... Midori is legion?
>Every single ending was emotional except Chihaya's.
"Sad". Every single ending was "sad" except Chihaya's.
I'm not sure you understand what emotions are.
>They're emotional, but not in the same way Key games typically are.
You're joking right?
People really dislike Terra because it doesn't have a tearjerking scene?
Terra's ending was fine. It's the route itself that disappointed me, and for an entirely different reason than "muh tears"
How? The route was amazing, it filled in so much space they had left remaining from the other routes. The only problem was the ending. Even if you ignore the lack of an "emotional climax" so to speak, the actual last scene was pretty retarded.
This motherfucker gets it.
Yes. Now is the time to strike.
You do know that "sad" is also an emotion, right? Is this bait? Did I just get rused?
I'm done talking to you

Terra just lost impact. It had so much slow build up before going into a rushed mess towards the ens. Also lack of CG's and sprites hurt a lot.
What do you think Haruka-music sounds like?
Key games typically make you cry a lot and then fix everything in the end in some ridiculously happy way so that you cry some more.
Much of Rewrite is very brutal, involving mass amounts of violence and death. There are no easy solutions to problems that just appear magically out of thin air, and what crying you'll be doing is pretty limited to one or two routes.
Kotori's route is probably the most typically "Key" out of all of them in that sense, I suppose.
Sha la la la...
Looks like you missed your target.
>People really dislike Terra because it doesn't have a tearjerking scene?
It's the number one reason why anyone dislikes it.
>It's the route itself that disappointed me, and for an entirely different reason than "muh tears"
>Even if you ignore the lack of an "emotional climax" so to speak, the actual last scene was pretty retarded.
Ha ha, no.
If you think this you misunderstood a lot of things.
>cry a lot and then fix everything in the end in some ridiculously happy way so that you cry some more.
I can certainly see what you're saying, however, Akane, Lucia, and Kotori all fit there. Hell even Chihaya had the "magic fix", only Shizuru and Terra really left things the way they were.
I'm arguing that the routes should tell you what to expect. I don't look at the endings alone when I try to see what the final routes have in store for me.
This is besides the original argument that you seem to think it 'failed' just because it wasn't what you expected.
I'm not gonna say filler again because the anon of the other time is gonna get mad, but it was full of relatively uninteresting and too long scenes, the training scenes and overseas part are like 70% of the route.
I liked the scenes with kagari and kotori but there were only a few.
And when shit finally gets real, everything is rushed.
I guess I would've given more shit if I liked kotarou more like the other anon said.
That's not why it failed, but tell me, if it didn't fail, what did it do right? What goal did it accomplish?
Then could you elaborate on why it failed? I'm certain that any explanation is going to come down to opinions based on your expectations presented as fact by the way.
7 billion people are dead.
Kazamatsuri is destroyed and hundreds of thousands of people are dead.
Kotarou spends a good six months in the hospital after his girlfriend drags his broken ass six miles back to-- okay this one isn't so depressing.
None of these are "easy fixes", though. Chihaya's is, yes, which is why it has a continuation in Harvest Festa with essentially nothing changing and also why it is bad.
Im in the middle of her route right now, recalling the source of her trauma.
Of all the girls, Amane's has made me feel the most uneasy building up to the source of her struggles. All that free dere and sex made me want to duck and cover like someone pulled the pin on a live grenade.
I just post the obligatory Mitcher picture if I'm around when the thread starts (ie. late night studying). It's just something else to talk about if the thread slows down (like Hoshimemo).
It's canon now.
>doing things right
Nothing beats Hoshimemo in terms of beauty and feel good happy ends.
Irotoridori TL fukkin never ;_;
Yes. Amane had lurking problems written all over her.
She's the most well adjusted of the girls though.
Kotori a best. Late edition.
Michiru's route was more depressing than i desired.
Sachi's was pretty nice. Both were somewhat cliche though.
Go into mitchers route expecting tsundere antics, get feels.
I just want to tease her, hug her, rub her perfect thighs, and cuddle with her because she's so adorable.
At least it ended on a fairly high note with little to no consequences.
Except for Meowmel's.. unfortunate accident.
RIP peace Meownel.
the double soul thing was odd without it 'cured' through love healing. But whatever. The extra soul girl was saucy.
>mfw expecting h-scene with personality switching
>mfw it never came
And with that, I will head off to bed and attempt to lucid dream. Goodnight.
Well there is a sequal with Afters..
>tfw you realize the entire LB team except Kengo is Riki's harem
>tell myself not to get lured in by beautiful tsundere
>cant just leave her alone on cliff
>do her route first like i knew i would.
This scene was cute but I was kind of confused by it. It didn't have any huge meaning right? Shame the anime skipped it.
And forgot pic.
There's been a lot of Mio and Kudfags lately.
Obviously, the point of the scene was that Haruka is the reincarnation of the Emperor Nero - which justifies her use of art/music based accessories even though she's clearly unskilled with them. Her true soul is starting to slip though the cracks and push her further into madness under the strain of maintaining the dreamworld.
Also, that she wants Riki to force her down and ravish her.
I've been wondering about that too, actually. Why everybody loves these two all of a sudden.
JEKYLL JEKYLL, HYDE, JEKYLL, HYDE HYDE, JEKYL, JEKYLL JEKYLL, HYDE, JEKYLL, HYDE
I would like you to remember that in Kudwafter, whenever Riki and Kud do the dirty, a certain darkness overwhelms their hearts and minds.
Kud remembers how she was chained in a cave, standing in a pool of her own filth, getting ravaged again, and again, and again. And she fears she may never experience it again.
Riki remembers that Kud’s first time wasn’t with him, but with several large, dark-skinned men and women. And he wonders if she’s really enjoying it.
Well for me it's not all of a sudden, i'm just only now posting here. I've been with kud since before team fluffy even translated the game translated . cant speak on behalf of the mios. Though as far as i've seen I'm the only kud here.
So, that's what Haruka wanted all this time.
Preferring you is preferring sluts and rapists, it just takes some time to say so.
I feel like every English speaking Mio fan is here now.
I'd still like to object to this, in that Rin is a shit that hates everything that moves, including her cats. Full blow fucking potato.
You son of a bitch.
Some people have been up to no good.
Oh, fuck you.
Now it's in my head again.
Pleb please go. At least finish the VN before commenting.
Do i have to do her route?
;_; I don't know if I can handle that much exposure to her. Well, whatever, fine. I'll just tank through it. Maybe I'll get used to her...
wait... you haven't even finished the VN? Nobody gets development outside of their own route really what are you even doing in here.... You're going to get spoiled.
Rin is great though. You can't judge her entirely off the beginning of the novel. She is supposed to be a little off putting at that point.
I know! But...I was curious. Ok, I'll stay away until I finish the whole thing...jeeze.
Now I feel bad. I usually don't make early assumptions but...I had different expectations of her...
You're one of the worst persons I've had to meet and you should feel bad for it pleb. Finish Rin2 and Refrain in one go and then realize the ungrateful mutt you are. Mwuahahaha
Did the Little Busters ever actually get around to fighting any evil?
There's the mysterious lifeforms, I guess, but those were kinda Kyousuke's fault to begin with.
Yes the fears and scars deep inside their minds
If the original Miofriend makes it back to the thread, he will say yes. They put down a source of evil during the novel.
Fucked that bee-hive up good.
That's a spoiler you should probably delete.
>Fucked that bee-hive up good.
They murdered the bees who were trying to live out their lives. By whose judgement can we call such an action good or evil?
Those bees were a menace to society, attacking innocent passersby in a viscous turf war, the little busters save the small town on that day, a deed of heroes that shall never be forgotten.
That's the twist: They ARE the evil
I feel like you've trumped up their accomplishments that day, but I like it nonetheless.
But all they did was supplant the tyranny of the bees with their own and since then, they have probably cost the school millions in vandalism damages, to say nothing of the pit-fights they've started and the monsters they've unleashed upon the unsuspecting town.
Cumulatively, can we say the world was better off with the busters than with the bees?
They suppressed the main villain of the story, so yes.
The little busters were nothing but the greatest of heroes to that small back alley neighborhood, were you to as any who lived there they would recall the names of those five vigilant figures of justice who had protected them.
We were discussing the phones yesterday, going back over some of her saves tonight I'd completely forgotten there's a whole segment to getting her a small straight cellphone because flip phones where too big for her hands, and the phone even shows up in a CG later on.
Those bees had plans it wouldn't have ended there, the turf wars would have raged on and on, eventually engulfing the entire town than prefect then onto the cities. it would be a vicious unending cycle of destruction, horror, and undoubtedly evil. Those bees had what was coming to them.
This is deep, man.
Good find. Even if we assume they designed her phone based off of a existing phone, it has long been off the market. Maybe if we email Hinoue-san, we can find out the truth.
But na-ga-san was incharge of Kud's CGs!
>Implying Midori wouldn't seize control again, diablo style
She was only able to be 'herself' because Riki loved her, but that doesn't apply once they're out of the dreamworld.
I assumed Itaru was the head over everything as far as CG's and sprites go. Anything graphical in nature.
Usually yes, but Little Busters he was given co-head with Na-ga. I'm unsure who was behind Rewrites art but hinoue is no longer the sole head (hasn't been since LB) Na-ga did do all the design for AB though. As i recall Rin, mio, Kud, Sasami, Saya are all na-ga's and Komari, Haruka, Kurugaya and futaki were all Hinoue. That's why there's such graphical difference between the girls (na-ga's being noticeably less key than the others). Na-ga is the sole head of AB art now though from what i've read.
Poor Yuiko. Some of her CG's were night and day. I've seen it before, but I'll still probably cringe again when I see "that" CG in EX. Her and Riki's walk through the rain was one of my favorites in the novel though.
She still made some great scenes in her time to be sure, na-ga was predominantly background art prior to LB. Personally i like Na-ga's designs a lot more but Honoue has her place in time still.
That scenes in the rain was really nicely done. All of her EX scenes though... Komari's also made me cringe going through it.
Just finished my daily batting practice with the Busters and hit one to Kud for once. She shouted out Odin, for some reason.
>Battle system is supposed to prevent people from getting seriously hurt
>They let Mio fight with a fucking gun
Yuiko gets one as well. Every time I see her get that 6-6 hit machine gun, I throw my hands into the air. The bullets tend to miss quite a bit for that weapon, fortunately.
She was counting the catch odin is Один in russian, or one. She speaks a lot of russian during the practice matches, makes sense that her native language is her go to language for fast reactions.
speaking of >>100226839 bad first impressions. I hated >>100228859
kanata at the start of kuds route she was nothing but cold hearted but i was kind of happy during the lunch break where the 3 girls were teasing kud and she made them go away
3dglasses are the deadliest weapon.
Yeah, I noticed most of what she says during batting practice isn't Nip, but I always think of Norse mythology when I think of Odin. Didn't know it was a word in Russian.
Agreed about the lunch scenario. Does that one only trigger if you choose her as Kud's roommate?
I love the balloons. Looks like the match is over, yet you've dropped 15 balloons on the ground. Opponent suddenly triggers them. Win the battle on that single turn.
My russian is pretty poor so i only know a few words and how to read Cyrillic letters, mostly out of interest to some of the lines she says.
Yeah I've had mio as a room mate and it never occurred.
My favorite was always 3dglasses vs. Strelka and Belka. kud doesn't fight just plays with them and they slowly lose how heartwarming the scene is that it downs them.
Why all the Midori hate?
You're only hiding from the truth!
Little busters wins, where was the kud wafter girls chance even.
It's really just one anon who hates Midori with every fiber of his being. I think most are fairly indifferent towards her.
Yuko please stop bullying.
You will never break her dreams
That's not Asuho.
Don't know anything about Waffles story at this point other than Kud heading into space, supposedly, but I've seen this screen twice now with this chick yelling in Kud's face while she cries. Can't say that I like this girl at this point.
She's kind of like a far harsher futaki I don't hate her but i don't like her to say the least.
Yuuki is a genius and a gift to mankind, she did nothing wrong.
Wait, what game is this?
The ancient evil overslept
Stop the bullying maybe.
Did you actually play waffles and not like kudo?
She's one of the main characters in waffles.
She's truly the worst.
Guess I'm gonna have to start looking for more Mio/Midori combo pics. I hate posting the same ones over and over.
One day I will post all the default responses myself even though none are mine.
I love how Sasami's fine with Rin assaulting her and stealing her socks to give as some sick kind of trophies to her guy-friends.
What do you think Sasami takes from Rin when she wins?
Pointing out that it is an assault should show you why this statement makes no sense. Needless to say, Rin will pay dearly in the end.
But Komomo is the best hoshimemo.
Did Chinami bail you out during a Boss fight? I didn't think so.
Wait, what are you referring to here? I'm drawing a blank.
Thought you would like those other ones better.
