Lucky Star hate thread.
Because it's tied with GL as the worst anime of 2007.
Lucky Star is one of the best.
Weren't LS and GL actually the anime with the highest DVD sales of 07?
Anime about food and crap.
Do not want
Sage for viral markeBUY MORE HARUHI DVDS!!!!
I will. I need more Haruhi dvds... more haruhi dvds... more...
Don't be so subtle with trolling the GL Fags, just go troll your heart out. They're not very smart, they'll fall for it.
Popular = good, right?
TIMOTEI TIMOTEI TIMOTEIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Lucky Star is a masterpiece. The greatest anime of the decade.
In term of sale for 2007:
Lucky Star > Gundam00 > Clannad > Nanoha > GL > Oofuri.
Anime like Mononoke, Moyashimon or Minami-Ke also sold very well. Pretty good year if I say so myself
This, but wait until Cirno's around and then say you think GL has no symbolic meaning. Shitstorm.
I wish to strangle condescending Yotsuba
On /a/, goodness is the inverse of popularity.
I'm pretty sure gayseball is selling better than GL.
Oofuri and Mononoke are the only good series out of those.
No Oofuri generally sell better on the first week but GL pass it after that.
Since you don't understand why, allow me to explain.
Anime exists to entertain, and to make money by doing so. (People will be more willing to buy merchandise if they like the show)
So, no matter how well-written or animated your show is, if the masses don't like it, you've failed.
In that way popular does = good.
Naruto is good, Bleach is good.
You are correct, you may not like the fact that they are good, but they are good.
There's a difference between good and bigger target audience.
and yet, both shows pull in lots of people from outside their target audience, while many other shows do not.
Hmmm, I wonder why.
Probably because they are entertaining, let's also not forget that the folks in the target audience of both Bleach and Naruto do not generally have the money to buy the merchandise so it must be others buying it.
Actually, that would be "successful". The success of an anime is dependent on the tastes of the population, not the quality(note the lowercase). Usually the population likes quality though, so it works out.
However, sometimes the population, for various reasons, prefers something with less quality than something with more.
It's like comparing a popular rap song to Rachmaninoff's 3rd Concerto. The rap song sells more (these days, ignore past sales), but that doesn't mean it's any good.
Actually, the rap song is more quality than the Concerto. Synthesizers cost more than pianos.
sure it is..sure
