Why haven't you become a manga artist?
It's stressful as fuck.
Because I can't draw.
Because I need a job where I make money.
I rather have sane working hours and a pay that isn't complete dogshit.
Because all american drawn manga is terrible and I would just be shaming my country further.
>You don't have to eat carrots or onions
>build up the motivation to try to learn to draw
>go check out forums and sites dedicated to drawing and learning to draw
>check out sketchbooks and progress of people who learned to draw
>their shittiest drawing when they first started to learn to draw is about 10 times better than anything i could come up with
>lose motivation to learn to draw
Is it just that people are so embarrassed to put their actual beginning drawings up that they wait until they get a little better and then say that those drawings are their first?
No white man can ever become a mangaka, the Japanese would boycott his work because they're xenophobic.
No, these are mature people. They don't care about such insignificant details.
But going by what this guy says you can just shut yourself away and pretend to be glorious nihonjin.
I get the feeling it's not something you could hide, it would get leaked. No gaijin has ever become a successful mangaka so it would be a big thing.
Why do western comic artists always do generic manga syle instead something more cartoony and round like One Piece and such?
1. I'm a Gaijin.
2. I have no talent.
3. I want to be happy.
It would take me a year to release 1 chapter and then I'd die of stress.
GUYS NEVER LOOK AT YOUTUBE MANGA ARTISTS VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Need to look at some teens actual albums over 2-5 years on deviantart or pixiv. You are starting from less then them as most of them were probably drawing as kids before that. It's mostly time and desire to improve, not just desire to draw. Don't worry about the showoff liar types. All the technique in the world won't help them do anything beyond masturbate to their own skill.
There's nothing wrong with those video. Those people are following their dreams.
Mark Crilley is my idol.
Wouldn't doing an online comic for free on your own time be better? I mean don't publisher control what you do mostly in your manga and get the final word?
