Name a better OP this season than Golden Time OP 2. And i mean not just songs/lyrics you personally like or animation, but the purpose of op - actual impact, setting a tone, foreshadowing, emotionally preparing for the story,
There is none. Which is understandable, as most OPs are just random songs from sponsors to promote artists, but still - any other "meaningful" OPs this season?
I wonder how full version will sound. The into sounds like.. intro to song. Constantly raising discord, escalating just to go puff instead of resolution
Also hope for end of Golden Time they`d use something more cheerful. The contrast of 1st and 2nd OP is great though.
Bad luck but Maaya Sakamoto sung an OP this season.
If played backwards, you can hear Satan speaking to you.
This is much more epic
Its not about being epic. And if it comes to songs accompanieng discord and emotional mood, there are songs that are outright cruel
>Code Geass is from this season
You're joking right? That OP is shit compared to first one. Only better thing about it is that they show a wedding reception.
Nice, but heard before and while aiding the mood of the show, does not do it in any special way. Slightly adding serious tone, but overall pretty generic.
Mikamunin in that term is lot better since it sets the insanity and fun mood best of all OPs with same aim this
But as said, they all lack impact and reallyu airing viewing expirience. Nagi no Asukara is somewhat good at it, but worse than first cour.
I dont this one much, but it is actually good at enchanching the show and setting themood
First one great OP to listen to, is sweet, cheerful and happy. But while its pleasant song, its not outstanding - it could be replaced and barely anything would change for mood of the show.
This one however actually have impact by itself, right from the start creeps unexpected viewer that got used to Golden Time being cheerful, and portrays Kaga`s distorted state and expectation of the season great.
Too much going on without any impact to it. It's as though they just kept throwing notes at it until they couldn't fit any more in.
I remember the first few seconds of the OP realizing that this was not the OP I was used to, and worrying that the new one would be shit.
I also remember worrying the same thing about the ED.
First one was MUCH better, this one sounds too chaotic. I thought something went wrong with my headphones when it came on.
The OP is great, but then again, everyone has different tastes in music.
I kept waiting for the actual song to start, but they just kept on going with the staccato violin notes. Sounds really weird.
Thats the point, and that what makes it great. The feeling of discord, confusion, Koko running around trying to understand whats happening and dull cold end without resolution
The first ED of Golden Time was way better though.
Is this what OP foreshadowed?
I really didn't like it. It sounded like they wrote some raburabu lyrics, then did a fuckload of meth and made that shitty background noise. Far-fetched symbolism (>>100186363) comes second to actually sounding good, at least in SoL anime OPs.
Song maybe, but i liked the 2nd Ed as well. Starts with them looking away from each other and slowly ends in happy end - it has nice singing quirks as well and is enjoyable: right whats needed after heavy episode.
Golden Time is not SoL though, its straightforward romantic drama. Pretty much everything in it aids character and plot development.
Um, okay. Why are you latching onto that one word though, that wasn't what I was trying to say with the post.
You stated that meaningful OPs are are not priority and they should be pleasant to majority instead. I disagree. Since basically 90% of OP/ED studios dont even choose - its just sponsors placing own whatever promoted bands at the moment to boost CDs sales. It sometimes becomes as riddiculous as single band or singer singing OPs for multiple show in season or often in year just since people try to promote them - fitting or not (i am looking at you, Nano.Rape and Ali Project!)
So its great when studios actually pick the type of OP they want to make, VAs sing, and OP /ED might be somewhat meaningful to the show.
Example being - this one is horrible to listen and lot of people disliked it, but its PERFECT for the show it is
Say what you want, but Steins;Gate had an amazing OP and ED. The lyrics tell what the whole story is about. The ED manages to capture the whole suffering feeling from Okabe.
It's the best of its kind.
this, so much
I like the song. Terrible animation to go along with it though, really doesn't fit.
My favorite OP this season is Sekai Seifuku's though.
I think you meant to quote >>100187708, right?
I was pretty unclear, upon looking back. What I mean is that making a lazy-sounding track like that and playing it off with some shitty symbolism is bad practice. What you should do instead, is make a song combines good sound with good content on a deeper level. An excellent example is >>100189016. I remember thinking at first glance that it was some 2deep4u tripe, and paid it little further heed. In retrospect however, like the poster said, it does tell everything you need to know about the story. It's excellent foreshadowing, and the song isn't annoying to listen to, like the Golden Time OP2.
Other great examples off the top of my head are the SSY ED, the first Hyouka OP (don't remember much of the second, didn't like it), The Real Folk Blues.
I'm not great at wording myself in English, being a secondary.
I see nothing special about that opening, the animation is pretty poor as well. Foreshadowing doesn't mean much to me in an opening, I'm more interested in the quality of the directing, visuals, and animation.
Anons have such shit taste, dissing things just like its not generic shit they are used to listen.
At least Aku no Hana challenged both their brains, their eyes and their ears
Mikakunin OP of the season
Tonari no Seki-kun's OP did a much better job encompassing the entirety of the show's premise and characters, along with the feel while managing to be humorous as well.
Too bad the quick search I did for a video of the OP didn't give me any with subs.
Well yes, that was masterful. Also both OP and ED could just be aired as actual episode.
Man, shit, I gotta catch up. You're making me think Golden Time is deeper than what I've seen so far.
It sounds like shit.
Its half the reason I haven't even watched the latest episode of Golden Time yet.
Too bad, it had some great moments. RoboKoko, Koko "cooking" and others. I was hesitant to start second cour too, since already been spolied by /a/ with Ghost Banri drama - but it turned out very enjoyable.
Why did they not include the snake chapter in anime? Still disappointed over it, but this part was pretty similar.
I fucking hate Koko. I'm so glad Ghost Banri is wrecking her shit. Can't wait till he makes them break up.
A bird is good too.
>actually thinking that Koko won't win
I bet you thought the other girl in Toradora had a chance too, didn't you?
Banri does not break up with Koko. Koko breaks up with him.
And its irrelevant anyway, since in last LN we`ll get happy ends, just like with Toradora. Notice what the new OP/EDs have in common with old - they still feature only Kaga and Banri
No. I know Koko will win, but I want her to suffer as much as possible. Conversely, Minorin suffered the most in Toradora and lost, which was fitting because she was a terrible girl.
