Why aren't you reading the greatest manhwa ever?
What even is this?
Well if that's how it works then put all your points in Luck, you dipshit.
because op is a faggot who doesn't give sauce
Boku no The Gamer
That's a webtoon, anon. Webtoons are in color and are annoyingly in that long image format while manhwa is like manga but is read from left to right instead of right to left.
What is Google image search?
It's called Thw Gamer by the way.
He is too stupid to realize that. He has 15 INT when some martial arts skillbook requires 90 INT to absorb. For now he is focused on raising INT because his combat stats are good enough for random encounters, plus real physics still work, so there can't be damage reduction from low skill for example, only boosts.
Because the greatest manhwa is Tower of God, then Dice: The Cube that change everything and after that Dark Air.
What a scrub only maxing strength
Put enough in endurance to fast roll and rest into dex.
Put only enough points into faith and str to be able to use miracles and weapons.
Fucking scrubs, git gud.
b-but the only worthwhile miracle takes like 30 faith.
And it's damn worth it.
No, you fucking idiot. Put points into Int, because muh skillpoints (aka, your masteries are raised faster) and muh magic (and muh intelligence, of course), put points into Dex, because magic bolts are ranged touch attacks and Dex also helps with your AC, and minmax everything leftover into Luk, because when you have luck, you don't need Wis for decision making, 'cause you're naturally lucky, and you become generally damn lucky.
Fucking scrubs, learn to minmax.
>Tower of God, then Dice: The Cube
I see you have a thing for shitty protagonists.
ToG is overrated for being baby's first Webtoon.
I agree that MC is shit in ToG but I think majority read it because of setting
Because there are no more new chapters
>last chapter 3 days ago
Ah, it was not cancelled.
So his friend is level 25 because he studied and took all those fighting disciplines, he has the same age but a mere level 4, odd it makes you think that you cant just grind, I wonder how much 500 XP is for him.
O well I guess the following chapter will tell.
Is there anything else like this? Hopefully a finished series too.
Reality turns into a game?
Or bizarre game grinding story things?
Luck is the best stat ever.
>Reality turns into a game?
>bizarre game grinding story things?
to what this would even entail?
Why do the Koreans call manga manhwa? They aren't fooling anyone.
Seems kind of crap in the guys situation. If he were to win the lottery, he could die!
Well, the protagonist are kinda meh, but I like the story and setting. And that's the reason why I read them.
OT: Just finished reading this manhwa and I have to say I'm interested. Gonna keep following it.
Also the art in ToG is sometimes sex for the eyes.
Dice has some nice art as well.
Well the problem is he doesn´t how many points he needs to spend to make a change in his life
except the lottery thing, it doesnt seem to make much sense, what if you win by accident? How would that be LUCK?
Also I may sound like a newfag for it but for once I am quite interested in the lore itself which is something I rarely get into maybe is because I am so familiar with it even if I dont play MMORPGs.
Winning by accident is the very definition of luck anon.
sorry I did not explain myself properly, if you win, not by your choice, sure you have been lucky but then if you get hit by a lightning is not fair, that's BAD luck or being UNlucky.
This one long page thing is going to take some getting used to.
Reading the chapter where he picks up the skill book I am finally understanding what his ability truly means.
If I got it right, unlike others he wont need to read books and the others wont see their stats, so while others have to improve sort of like one would do in real life even in case of magic usage, he can do it truly like in a game, he seems to have unlimited potential, he could become skilled in everything.
If I got it right he is OP as fuck.
It could still be considered his fault because he increased his luck.
On the other hand, if luck works like luck in Fallout NV, with high enough luck even Gaia couldn't kill him because he would be lucky enough to survive.
The author needs to explain some of his stats better and the "getting killed" thing a bit more for us to be able to really judge what would happen.
If you read it on batoto, there should be a option right next to the top of the image to view it in several smaller images.
They should still be bigger than standard manga pages.
is this nigger serious?
Where do you think you are?
Now, I love power creep, and this is pretty much as intelligently you can go about that.
But fuck you if veritas isn't the best manhwa, you ugly cunt. The Breaker is better too
That and later the party chapter where others can partially gain the gamer ability by partying with him really show how OP he can be.
His friend mentions it a few times. Even he himself says how OP he is.
I saw it mentioned yesterday, as something whose ending got rushed and was awful, is that so?
>not learning timed counters immediately to become a god against all non-grapplers
>there should be a option right next to the top of the image to view it in several smaller images.
You know, I'm not sure I even WANT to. It just makes sense for viewing on a computer this way. Also
>completion failure: mother's nagging
Come on, this is the same punishment I get for failing all of my quests. These game devs suck.
ending got rushed, yes.
Fucking awful ending, but probably the best battle manga out there until around chapter
His mom is a freaking high level and extremely dangerous natural ability user.
His father is the end boss.
Sometimes I get the feeling about my mum.
>win the lottery erry week
>fortunately no one happened to get suspicious for some reason.
>never get attacked by dem villains
>ace tests at random, maybe supplemented by some int
I completely forgot about Veritas.
It started out great but the ending was really bad. The ending also left space for a sequel, but I doubt it will ever happen.
So /a/ which ending would be better/worse
>it was all a dream
>he is a beta tester for a game (and/or he actually created it)
>God is the game creator
>Magic, I aint gonna explain shit.jpg
Veritas was OK. It wasn't one of the best manwha at all. Ruler of the land is better. Yongbi is better. The Gamer is better.
I am starting to think that his mother is Gaia because the level isn´t shown and neither her title
>it was all a dream
Worst ending in fiction ever.
He already rationalized it by comparing it to an MMO system where characters that are way too high level for you don't have display/title display. There was another character that he couldn't read the level of, too.
no, the ending really did make for a pretty awful jumping point for a sequel, the pace and so on is completely ruined.
And according to some /a/nons the author and the drawfag are not good friends
I thought that there was going to be a Veritas 2 and that it would come back with some glorious (TL note: read as awful) time skip and then have a proper ending
It has already been said that in the world there are a lot of people like him, with diferent powers, they trained so much that they develop it or others gained it by the will of Gaia (God or some shit like that).
he can't actually use his skills outside the game or else he'll die or something
so really he's buffing his strength and probably speed just so he can survive
I mean he doesn't know if he can revive or not
In fact, it's already bothering me a bit. If his power is only based on what gaia wants to give him, it's just arbitrary shit and not true power. sounds semantic but in my mind it matters.
Dunno if you read far so spoilers.
The grandfather (or father or whatever) of his friend who owns the dojo also has ??? as his level.
It's pretty common in MMO games to hide the level of the enemy if it's waaaaaaay out of your league. Some bosses will always have hidden level no matter what.
She could be a boss or just THAT stronger.
If MC ever uses "that", it will be calling his mum. Trust me.
Gaia gave him power.
Is there really need to be any different ending that the explained?
>outside the game
At least read a wikipedia article before spouting bullshit.
I will never understand Rule of The Lands popularity. I haven't read yongbi in forever but I don't think that holds a candle to veritas either
>Putting everything into STR
>Not putting everything into VIT.
Enjoy being a glass cannon, faggot.
>mom pls help is his special attack
The title of the elder was shown, his mother wasn´t
maybe the best thing would be, get a Luck to a level where your life isnt a disaster.
Then raise int and make your dream(s) come true.
Then it boils down to "who/what is Gaia and what does it want?"
>not putting points into INT so you can calculate your best point distribution and gain smarts
>this casual stat system
Beauty and charisma, plz?
AC, DR, and so forth should also be a thing
He's fighting very slow enemies with a lot of health (relative to his base attack). He's not going to die if he doesn't get hit. Putting shit in STR will help him grind faster, meaning he gets his VIT boosts faster. However, note that he was just testing shit out since he didn't know if that was legit or not. It's easy to tell if you're really stronger or not.
>Then it boils down to "who/what is Gaia and what does it want?"
No, it boils down to FUCKING READ THE WEBTOON, FAGGOT
As he said though, his main reason for dumping points into INT is so he can be smarter and decide more intelligently on what to invest next.
Currently at chapter 19, brotha.
Chapter 3 I believe.
I love me some Death Note references.
Manwha goes for any cartoons made by Koreans. Check your linguistics, shupmit.
ah right, Charisma, but it makes sense the lack of it, first for that one would use Intelligence and second as his friend said you cant use your powers to greatly affect the world, Luck is already a dangerous stat, otherwise with 99 Charisma you could go to the president and convince him to give you his seat.
There are no NPCs here, high charisma could mean mind control.
Up until the last ~50 translated chapters, it was basically swagamoto: murim edition. Yongbi is a shitload better than veritas could ever have dreamed to be.
She is a late game boss, so the devs didn't want to spoil it. It's like some games when you meat someone important, the name will be "villager" until he tells his name.
>Who is gaia
Gaia is the world anon.
Well, I would like to get a deeper explanation than this. The reason would be nice.
Kinda reminds me of X from DICE. X does it because he's bored and is neither good nor bad. Wondering if Gaia is bored after few million years of floating in ellipses.
He doesn´t enter a game, he goes inside an illusion barrier created by his teacher, and yes he can use all the abilities outside
chapter three isn't timed counters. not in the sense that a timed counterattack will nullify damage and counterattack in classicalm cuhrayzee gameplay style
That's exactly what he's doing right now.
He doesn't know in advance how to acquire skills, though.
That's just the korean word for cartoons you know. Just like the japs call comics and cartoons manga and anime.
In chapter 18 he raises his INT to 57
Swagamoto? there's a bit too many -amotos out there for me to get the reference.
But it sounds better than yongbi
just do cross counters and shit like that till it pops. It's a fantastic gameplay element, gaia is a shit gameplay designer if it isn't implemented into such a skill intensive game
>If MC ever uses "that", it will be calling his mum. Trust me.
My sides. I can no longer see their level.
BTW, there's a forum thread in Batoto that keeps check of MC's current level, skills (as well as their level), and most importantly stats, both raw and after all skill effect calculations (current list is at last post, OP is not updated).
>Currently at chapter 19
Yeah i know, its just that i really like this series and can´t wait for more chapters
And you can see that he actually got smarter in ch19 where he basically creates a new skill from his knowledge of an old skill.
Well fuck. I just hope he didn't meat his mom. That would be weird and hot.
"Cross counter" sounds too generic though. Physical block-counters are probably under each martial art study.
>what is stat requirements
I am reading it.
Although I have to admit for the "raising your personal stats makes you better in real life", DICE is doing a better job with it.
Then you can't really compare them. Gamer is light and comedic, while DICE is darker and much more serious.
To any anon not reading either of them, check them out. Both are surprisingly good.
Whenver I see one of these references, is like a sparkle turns on in my brain.
>basic melee maneouvre that should be a foundation of most action games
>higher stat requirements than Divine Mega Ultra Korean Sekrit Art of Lightning Dragon Rising Crossing Heavens Path of Ten Tigers
>hurr durr 95 int requirement is JUST HIS IMAGINATION!
I was referring to the martial arts books he already absorbed
On a side note, since this is essentially a manhwa thread because they're rarely discussed here.
Is any other group doing Cavalier of the Abyss? Mangacow dropped it, so I'm hoping another group has it or will pick it up. It was getting good again.
Can he raise his dick level?
>DICE is doing a better job with it.
That was a surprisingly deep advice and reminder: Not only should he get better as a character, but also as a player.
Reminds me of the Matrix, because he can see the world by the way it is, not just how it looks.
I wonder what happens if he fap? Would that raise his endurance? I am surprised he did not touch the argument.
No, this is not DICE
somehow bug vit and dex until a secret DIX skill is warped
Those were fairly basic techniques, though. In videogames terms, they're the skills you receive as a present from pledging your allegiance to a faction at level 10. They don't have any stat requirements. Counters are usually covered later, and beside, would require good DEX and perhaps STR.
name a game where countering is late-game.
Something funny about DICE is that the dice being dice is quite irrelevant. You never see them making a bit deal about what they roll.
They should have probably used d-12 with values 0-5 and 10.
Wouldn't it be cool if somehow he installed cheat engine?
Name a game where enemies used the same counters as you.
New skill: Edging
Achievement: 1000 loads released
New title: Fap master
Think of the possibilities.
cross countering was just an example of how you might UNLOCK the countering technique
I was honestly waiting every time we saw MC with a computer to get some PC related skills like hacking or programming.
Too bad nothing happened.
I wonder if there are sex related skills. He must have fapped at least a few times during the 19 chapters. He should have gotten a skill.
That´s what bugs me, it would have been kinda funny that in the early chapther the MC would have rolled just 1 in the first dice he got
>find stat point variable
>give a ridiculous amount of stats to apply
>kill gaia because you've sucked her dry, all problems resolved
Yeah, sounds like a cool plot twist, that'd be really interesting. faggit
Wait, I completely messed up: It should've been d-12s with values 0-10 and 20.
>fap title is over-all amazing for combat
>but all your party members will see that you are "insatiable wanking virgin"
Would you wear it? consider that you're a normalfag korean highschooler
>your face people can read your achievements
>hey anon what does "fap master" means?
I am liking this MC so far, he seems balanced.
... yet he hasn't been in a hospital lately, spending his time being jesus 2.0
I'm sure there are many different counter animations though, most of which would be equivalent to different techniques.
I mean, parry-counter is one of the worst counters IRL for obvious reasons. Dodge-counters are much more present in all martial arts, even in medieval swordplay with shields.
>consider that you're a normalfag korean highschooler
Good thing only he can see titles.
But if others could as well and I was in MC's position, I would say no. After all, he is more or less a normalfag and it could fuck up his life, or at least that period of his life.
think he could cure cancer with his current spellpower?
no, party members can also see the interface if they are invited, right?
Heal enough people he gets another achievement.
well considering what his friend said about Gaia, it would be very hard to do that.
Which is sad, because technically even now it seems he could have people's limbs grow back.
the technique he learned says that it can cure anything but he had to perform it multiple times, so I would say yes but it would take a lot of time UNLESS, "Cancer" would count as "curse".
Not unless all other martial artists who can execute that technique can do it.
His techniques are nothing special, only the way he can learn them is.
No, as far as I know, they can only see some messages like if they level up or if they get an item. I don't think they can see anything else considering that the MC had to look at his friend exp.
Could be wrong.
That would fall under the "don't make the world suspicious of you being unnatural" rule though.
His UI ability would be pretty nifty for a spy/information trader, don't you think?
Only the bare minimum though: apart from the window to accept or decline party invitation, Lancer boy didn't see anything else.
Remember, if he interferes in the lifes of normal humans too much he gets banned.
I recon he could save atleast 10 people before being hit by lightning
You could say he died for their sins.
It would get suspicious, otherwise others would have done it...unless Jesus was a player.
I still dont understand how wounds work, the tsundere was surprised his bones werent broken after she hit him, but is that
1) He was at level high enough to survive the damage?
2) His lifebar works like a videogame, where there are status but is linear and even eating bread could cure his bones?
Not late game, but lateR game. FFT requires thief/white monk (i.e.: str and/or dex) to get counter reactions. FF in general requires the monk job and/or completing a later quest, obtaining later items, or level up a certain amount of times to get the counter ability, with some exceptions.
world of wushu's is given as one of the later skills in any art's style.
in disgaea, characters gain the ability to counter a certain number of times as they level up.
if someone gets monopoly on gaias power, could he just do with the power as he liked? or is it gaias perogative to remove the power?
>Reading left to right
Why the fuck do monkeys do that?
Name: Han Jee Han
Title: The new jesus
The observe ability with his calm and rational thinking from his gamer passive skill would work perfectly good for a spy or information broker.
I'm not referring to active or passive JRPG counters, I'm talking about timed counters, there's a huge difference
He could sneak in and do it at night, then sneak out before anyone notices.
That, of course, after investing in shares of the clinic.
I think it goes for teh second one. Remember he has that "A Gamer's Body" skill, and maxed out at that.
effect: survive gaias wrath once, awaken three days later
> His UI ability would be pretty nifty for a spy/information trader, don't you think?
Or a thief/smuggler. He can put anything in inventory.
He can´t break bones and neither he feels pain after a short period of time
>unless Jesus was a player.
his observe ability alone would make him pretty much perfect for politics, interrogation, spy work and police work alone. He'd be an info god. Maybe become the presidents right hand, and with level 20 observe he could have a shit ton of dirt on the pres with a glance, effectively ruling the world
When the raws for the chapter where he enters the dungeon where tsundere beats him up came out, I totally thought that the text window (which actuall informed him he entered a dungeon) that came out while he was looking at her ass was to inform him that he had leveled up his Obvserve skill.
"I'm gonna peep into the girl's bath. FOR MY GROWTH!".
Wouldn't be the first manga to make jesus one of the early ability users.
JoJo and Shaman king did it
we all grow in our own little ways when peeping on the girls
>"I'm gonna peep into the girl's bath. FOR MY GROWTH!".
And we all know what will grow, down't we?
I know, but I always like this.
>I'm not referring to active or passive JRPG counters
Considering the mechanics of his class, there's no difference anyway.
Vindictus, dragon's nest, TW, and age of wushu all have that and they all require either a level, a skill level or a specialization.
well unless it improves, which seems very likely, I would not go as far to say that, but heck, he seems to be able to improve in everything.
>level up observe
>you can see zoom and see through walls
perversion does not make your hyper weapon get stronger
It's fairly early on in most of them (not sure which TW you mean, but it's certianly a core gameplay element for most vindictus classes)
is there only 19 chapters or are there more?
he says that it's "easy" to improve until level 10.
considering how good it is right now, it could very quickly become amazing if he got his shit together.
I highly suspect that the level of the observed matters a ton too, so getting dirt on a stupid or weak pres would be easier
Only 19, but still on going.
I'm annoyed that MC was given OP skills/weapons off the bat from his friend. It was cooler when he was discovering shit on his own, instead of ripping skill books off others.
I wonder how many other "gamers" there are.
even the korean is 19 ;_;
None, there are other people with diferent powers but that is it.
As someone earlier mentioned, those weren't that OP, they were basic training level skills from that clan.
How would a spiral make the energy more contained? a lance would work, a rotating force would just add to scattering the force.
In reference to chapter 19
I kinda agree but he is still discovering things on his own like crafting and the party
My point is that a lot of the fun comes from the discovery of new shit, rather than being handed it.
The movement will pierce the flesh and then explode
he discovered new shit in the newest chapter on his own
Whats the difference between Int and Wis, Arent they the same thing?
Like, use spells and do more magic damage and shit
Vindictus ones require a quest ~10-~20 to be completed on top of having the preliminary skills + levels.
Dragon's nest requires levels such as 35.
Age of wushu's, again, are late in the skill gains in the artstyles given by the masters (despite counters being a major mechanic).
TW2 requires entering the swordsmanship branch as well as taking the training branch options.
If he didnt spinned it it would just explode outside, but he spinned him making pierce the flesh of the boss and then exploding inside of him hence more damage
muh rotational velocidencity!
Hey, better than a training montage.
against that giant zombie for a moment I thought he wanted to attack it from behind, is there a bonus for him in doing that?
Int = magic damage, wis = mana regen + mana pool depth + magic defence (or something like that).
> Think. What would you do in a game?
Game physics. Attack by producing high concentration of pure energy is often depicted as either spherical whirlwind or spiky black hole.
Is being horny a status effect?
Int: the ability to calculate mathematical formulas, the outcome of events, thinking ahead a certain amount of steps and so on, basically your processing power.
Wisdom is experience and your ability to apply knowledge to tasks and issues.
Typically in games one governs manabank and one governs spell damage. Does int raise total mana?
So how many of you are reading Noblesse and what do you think about it?
Games tend to have back attack bonuses.
>made by Koreans
And why would I want this?
If the rotational force is actually a spiral, the energy is being moved towards the center of the sphere and concentrated.
Also the rotational force could create fraction, which could remove the skin and make more damage after exploding inside.
Magic, don't need to explain shit anon.
Don't fuck with me man!
Nigger, spinning something doesn't make a ball of energy pierce, it makes it scatter, assuming it acts at all like you'd expect
I stopped following manwhas not only
but also out of the fear the author might drop it when a really MMO has comeout again in Korea or the West.
It's entertaining. And fucking fabulous.
Dude it´s a ball of energy of course it will pierce you
a lance would pierce far better, I'd assume, and I don't think it was actually a spiral. A rotating lance even better.
There's a reason we used arrows and pilum historically, and not bayblades
it is a ball of energy regardless of spinning
>and not bayblades
And that's the reason why no country is currently the rules of the whole world.
If only they realized that bayblade of death are such awesome weapons.
Also it's pure enerfy. I don't think he can make complex shapes out of it, at least not with his level of control.
Do not fuck with me, I will fite you IRL.
>can spin it but can't stretch it
Disgusting. My ki control is far better
>Giving a fuck about which country your chinese cartoons come from
Why would I want Chinese cartoons from anywhere but China?
Korean is an awful language anyways. Not cute.
>being indifferent to which country your chinese cartoons come from
Fuck you, it's adorable how they imitate language with their gibberish
This. China will always be the best in doing cartoons. Go chinese of go home.
total shit. I couldn't get past chapter 2 since it looks like an autistic 12 year old drew this shit.
It's easier to spin it (which will automatically create a sphere) than to stretch it and make the tip sharp.
Unless you want a blunt spear, in which case just a ball is enough.
Disappointed that nothing was done with Shinwoo.
Does all Korean shit look like its are made by middle schoolers in MS paint?
Don't remind me.
He was such a great guy and damn hot. Really disappointed that he has no more important role in the manhwa.
>its are made
I wanted him to be MC
Veritas and yongbi have pretty damn fine art, nigga. Better than 99% of mangas for sure.
