Would LotGH have been remade if Kei Tomiyama didn't die?
No. The industry just couldn't steel itself through this kind of work ever again.
I wonder how much butthurt there will be if KyoAni gets to do the LoGH remake?
It doesn't need remaking.
Of course it doesn't "need" to, but it would be nice since LotGH's flaw is having outdated animation.
>flaw is having outdated animation
I'm sorry, what?
Apart from those Bluray remasters that are pretty bad, the original animation still holds up very well.
Sure, but you can't tell me that you wouldn't like to see it get remade and look like, for example, SBY 2199
Too much work I would think, and as the other've said, it still hold up well and doesn't really need much remaking.
Aye, the problem I have with the redrawn scenes is that they pop up all over the place at random time. I should download a version with no redrawn one of these days.
Aslong as there's no arse shot every two seconds.
>he doesn't want to see ass shots of his favourite general every few seconds
I'll admit that had some pretty nice visuals that I quite enjoyed.
But LoGH just wasn't something you watch for visually fantastic battles, it was the story, the characters, the magnificent music.
I don't think anything that could surpass the original can be pulled off now. There's just no scope for it.
Barring the space battles[which can be quite funny and lighthearted when all you see is the white smoke coming out of a ship like a torn bag of flour but then they show an internal shot, the flames, the soldiers dying the pure horror of blood and guts], it is everything else that makes the show what it is, I don't think any one now can reproduce the thoughts and feelings the original provoked in us.
If this was airing today, would /a/ consider this fujoshit? At least the anons who haven't seen it already.
The admirals's arses would lose their intensity if shown every few seconds, well maybe not Reinhard's arse, but he's a special case.
I want to see LoGH remake directed by urobutcher and animated by ufotable.
yes, and moe
Surely you jest, there's nothing but manly men doing manly things here.
Of course there are
Actually mix in Some original Code Geass update some tech (lol, phone booths etc.) make things more sinister (for Urobutcher easy-peasy) and it will be on of the best remakes of all time...
Is the bluray really that bad? I watched the DVD version...
>code geass in space
If only Kei Tomiyama was here...
It's horribly jarring since the it skips b/w redrawn frames and original frames at different intervals throughout episodes. You're much better off watching DVD version, which is basically the same content wise.
DVD and LD had some minor content differences though, some scenes were slightly changed. The most significant I can recall is,
Kircheis' death scene, in the original LD he sort of ineffectually lays there after disabling the guy making the attack on Reinhard. This scene was changed in the DVD to him grabbing the guy and pinning him hard to restrain him even when he lay on the ground bleeding out, it appeared to me at least his grip was so tight he'd broken the attackers wrist at first glance.
Okay, That image made me throw the whole idea of mixing Code Geass with LotGH to garbage bin. Still I think it there ever is remake they should make stuff more dramatic...
I might have watched BD then because that describes what I watched. Although my folder is 29 GB and the largest LotGH batch I can find is a BD batch thats 44 GB.
Seriously LoGH wasn't 'dramatic' enough for you?
The redrawn scenes are already on the DVD, I don't know why people are so hung up on calling out the BDs on it. Then again I prefer actually good art to cel animation purism and you can clearly see that in some episodes there's so much off-model that in another episode would get redrawn that they would have to remake the whole episode to keep it consistent enough and they just gave up.
He probably meant over-the-top "dramatic".
Deal with it, simply the industry can't make something so beautiful again.
>ass shots of your favorite admirals
Fucking crowdfond this shit.
>tfw you have just finished logh and every other anime just looks like shit
I doubt there are any studio out there ballsy enough to remake a 110 OVA space opera series.
Well, something dramatic like this (I hate english dub thou).
Why the charachters are always so noble and why the villains are always bad and planinng and don't have anything good....I mean it would be nice if Yang would have done so stuff. LotGH need moderate Star Trek like reboot (it wasn't all that great but some of the stuff was good... )... (let look for example noble's rebellion etc. )
God,almost all the charaters in this series were absolutely great.
I want to see Reunthal's bluray CGI high budget ass.
Oberestimate Oberstein and he'll oberbliterate you.
Yeah, Oberstein was great. LotGH reboot needs more charachters who are like Oberstein... more schemes etc.
Because the show is frighteningly realistic. People are behaving like idiots because they've been thought by their systems to be idiots.
There's a few competent people though. Like Job Truniht.
No,one Oberstein was enough.
>implying there is ever enough Oberstein
I want a slice of life harem school comedy featuring only Oberstein.
A harem filled with dogs?
Can someone please photoshop a generic animu harem cast, so that they all have Oberstein faces?
I loved how in most full body shots everyone in Empire uniforms looked like fat guys in gimp suits.
>you'll never live in space Prussia
>Oberstein comedy harem featuring all the girls from LoGH
>Oberstein logically telling each one to fuck off for 26 episodes
>all of them lose in the end to the dog and butler
I'd watch it.
What about Ferner?
What if you took Pinky and the Brain
and replaced them with Bittenfeld and Oberstein
DERE MAST BE SAMTING
Why has there never been fanart of Oberstein and Ferner as Pinky and the Brain.
Now this is a good example how to simply improve LOtGH... The way the trailer is cut makes the series seem more intense... thou the remastering was bad... but wanting to point out how much different way of captuirng scenes would make LotGH better...
>GEE OBERSTEIN, WHADDYA WANNA DO TONIGHT
>The same thing we do every night Ferner, plot political strategies.
Mate, don't abuse ellipses. It really looks off-putting.
I wish Wakamoto voiced all trailers.
dvorak 9th 4th movement New World symphony
that wasnt him but that'd be nice
>Actually mix in Some original Code Geass update some tech (lol, phone booths etc.) make things more sinister (for Urobutcher easy-peasy) and it will be on of the best remakes of all time...
You don't need anything from CG (which I like but has almost nothing in common with LOGH)
