This anime is nearly perfect, so far. Movie quality great animation. A unique world. Brilliant characters that use their brains.
How often do you see the bad-assed best warriors in the land taking time to sit and think and plan to deduce how to find someone and then comparing notes with each other and making well-reasoned arguments. And then excellent fight scenes, too.
It also doesn't take the audience for fools. Like this great scene in my cap where they show an astute observation of a relationship and grudging, embarrassed recognition of it merely though some exchanges of looks between characters.
The unbeatable warrior atoning for killing people plot has been done before, but this anime brings it to a whole new level.
Yet it managed to be completely bland and insipid.
GL was better
I'm watching it too. So far it's win.
WELL ACTUALLY I BELIEVE IT IS A BLAND STORY
PAINT BY NUMBERS
PRETENDS TO BE INTELLIGENT
PRETENDS TO BE GOOD
SO YEAH, IT'S NOT ACTUALLY A GOOD ANIME, IT IS JUST PRETENDING TO BE
And now a serious, correct answer: It is a brilliant anime.
Is dat sum battletoads the animation?
I hear Gamestop might have it.
You are around the sixth episode right now, I guess? We all were like you at that point. And then came several episodes of absolutely nothing happening, ridden with pointless scenes and forced, pretentious dialogues.
Never say I didn't warn you. You're watching further on your own risk.
I've been wanting to watch this since forever. But I'd rather wait for the dubs to appear later this year.

HAHAHAHAHA OH WOW
See, I liked those episodes alot.
The shit gets a little boring midway through, when the action dies and is replaced by decent character development. Sagum dies like a bitch from too much writing or something; that's one of the few parts I never really got.
Aside from that, this show is about feudal Motoko Kusanagi and drug trips. The shamanism theme alone is what makes this show worth watching. I mean, how else can you justify having a finale where a pregnant boy and a bunch of ninjas must travel to the spirit world to defend himself against invisible starfish on a glacier by drinking the sap of some water herb and wielding flamethrowers . Shuga is pretty hot though
