I think its time for an 8man thread
When I was watching the show I thought hachiman was pretty witty, and it made it okay.
But now in hindsight he just comes of as a pretentious twat.
Yeah, but in respect to other "long name LN" adaptations that makes him a lot more realistic than other MCs. I mean, who wasn't a pretentious twat at least once when they were a teenager?
I guess that's pretty cool too. It's like Chuu2 meets Aku no Hana.
Does he end up with sensei in the LNs? If not then I'm not reading them!
I think you pretty much got the point if you saw if you saw him as a pretentious twat. The material does show how much of hypocrite he can be and the aim is to 'fix' this.
It's sad the novels are only partially translated... Seems like a good read.
I feel like I'm the only one on /a/ who watched this anime and was deeply disappointed with all of it.
The MC gains no development throughout the entire series, staying as beta as he was at the beginning of the series all the way to the end. (If not, actually becoming more of a beta than he was to begin with.)
The series seemed to often switch between being a rom-com to a slice of life comedy which was extremely annoying.
And the ending felt like nothing was really accomplished.
>The MC gains no development throughout the entire series
The fuck? He got plenty of development.
Even though I don't really think of him as a beta, him not changing much nor developing is what made me like this.
Don't worry, you're not alone.
I think you went into it expecting too much outside of the premise the show set. Main character grew a lot as a person no and it was presented in a slow and subtle process. And the ending? He finally gained friends. That's more than enough.
Hachiman is a good guy. He just doesn't like the spotlight, and prefers to do things his own way. He gets people mad towards him for the sake of getting his point across or to save someone.
8man doesn't need to be nice to feel accepted by others. He has accepted himself.
He developed in a lot of directions.
>tfw no season 2
Beta is not synonymous for unpopular. He's not beta.
Betas can be popular, they're just pussies. Beta is one of those terms that gets thrown around so much people seem to forget about what it means. 8man is one of the least beta MCs you will find in anime. He has is own set of morals, looks out for himself, and isn't afraid of people disliking him.
Why is Yukino so great?
8man should be kissing her feet.
Thumbs up to that indeed.
He's the hero the show deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, they'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not their hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Snark Knight.
he is the begining and the end
It's ''Omega'' you ignorant faggot
Imouto confirmed for best waifu for 8man
That's not sensei
9/10 I almost chuckled. Good on you anon.
Fuck the captcha lately.
>Not knowing the difference between Omega and Beta before entering an argument.
>Probably has never even sen the anime to actually say this
>Being this fucking stupid
Right back at you. Also, stop posting.
I will just put this here
so he IS ΑΩ
Apparently I'm an omega. Welp
I found the series really disapointing as well, but I think for a slightly different reason. I started the show interested in the chatecters and the way the show set it self up as aware of and a reaction to highschool romantic comedies. However, though Yahari had it's unique bits and ocasional high points, ultimatly I think it did very little to seperate itself from 100 other highschool sol/romcoms. The lack of anything like closure at the end certainly didn't help. I do agree that at the end nothing felt acomplished and that though 8man had made small changes, they weren't sufficant to create a plot. Moreover, I thought Yukino was the most compelling charecter who got almost literally zero development. I also found it strange that she, who is arguably more elitist than 8man is never called on it, and her elitisim is treated like a virtue while in 8man its a defect. All and all I didn't hate watching the show, but I feel it squandered it's potential in a major way.
Delta as fuck.
Everything in here I agree with. Thank you for clarifying what I was trying to say.
Reminder that this guy is translating the Vita game
Obviously the best girl in the show.
Bona-fide beta here.
Fuck yeah, management level.
Yeah. It's a pretty shitty anime from an ''objective'' point of view. Basically, it only gets attention on /a/ because of 8man.
It's funny how 4 chan was referring delta and omega as beta while beta is kind of Asuka character.
The exact same reason why Watamote was also so popular among 4chan.
She did get called out on it, that blonde chick did and she got destroyed by Yukino. But really it is the difference in the way they express their elitist views that causes 8man to get shat on and Yukino not.
Also Yukino is a woman.
I only liked the series because of 8man, he literally was everything that was good on it. She DID get called on her shit several times, mostly by the hachiMAN.
Are there more anime/manga with MC like this?
who specific gravity/radiation here?
Hooray for being gamma.
hes the catcher in the rye. once you realize whats wrong with him, you understand why he acts the way he does.
Kill yourself you fucking elitest hipster
