ITT: canceled series
I can't help but imagine the despair and sadness of the author when he got told that his manga was getting cancelled after just 18 chapters.
Just imagine how he felt when he forced himself to draw one last single page, where every character is smiling, knowing that those characters missed a lot of adventures and will never be together again.
I'm still sad.
The tears that day were immense.
And no Mx0 already? This must be some kind of record.
Well there you go.
The scars are still there.
I really wanted to see where the ballroom dance fighting was gonna go.
I was just about to post this.
Jesus why does Shonen Jump pan/cancel all the good shit and keep garbage like Nisekoi. No wonder the other magazines are putting out big hit series now, all the talent left WSJ.
I loved the character designs in this one, and the art style in general
shame Bulge was just trash, and never got a chance to improce
Happened again. Also throw in Ane Doki for good measure. I was really enjoying it.
Axed after like 7 chapters or what?
This thread is full of hiveminds and WSJ editors having no taste.
Nothing of value was lost
So is the Mx0 author doing any good now? After the godawful mirror shit, I don't know if I'm looking forward to it.
Do series with no scans count?
I think he had another series after that and was also canned.
But I might be thinking of mirror
I thought it had potential.
Is it true that this is also getting cancelled?
I really enjoy it. Especially the drawings
Oh is that what happened? I thought he wrote himself into a corner
Kure-nai, I wish the author continued this and Denpa and made new stuff
Did SKET DANCE get Axed or did it just end?
Mirror was good. too good, he wrote the characters as intelligent people who can solve their problems instead of brain-dead fools paralyzed by doubt.
there wasn't room for much MISUNDERSTANDINGS, because those niggers just worked it all out. and without that main source of drama, it just kind of worked into a natural conclusion.
ITT: Why WSJ sucks.
Enjoy your Nisekoi.
at least there were some doujins
And I liked this art style so much.
it ran for damn near 300 chapters and they graduated high school, that's as good a run as you can expect from a high-school gag manga with doses of romance/drama.
Yeah it still sold well. The author probably just wanted to end it. Fuck him.
>Mfw it went to shit when they introduced Korean ghost powers
They really were cancelling everything from around then. Of course it might not have been the editors fault and might have been the public's fault.
Still the best
According to Bakuman, Mangas like To Love ru and other ecchi cutesy ones get cut because people are too embarrassed to vote for them in the rankings even though a lot of people may read and enjoy the Manga.
Such a flawed system.
WHAT THE FUCK?
I forgot about this manga, but it got canceled?
Isn't it still ongoing?
double-arts was mediocre
character designs were kingdom hearts as shit
plot was unique but retarded
it came off like a westerner's attempt at manga, like some tokyopop shit.
Didn't that just get moved to a different magazine?
Psyren. The looming threat of death really did no favours, but it was a decent ending given the circumstances.
Art was cool
Comedy was iffy
Plot was pencil thick
MC and heroine were pretty cool.
It kind of did deserve to get canceled with how it was going.
Fuck, I almost forgot about this too. God fucking damn.
50-odd chapters, pretty good. then a rushed arc, then two long-but-still-rushed FINAL BATTLE chapters that came in another magazine
I liked it, and the ending wasn't terribad.
kinda like with Nurarihyon, except that one hung on for 280 chapters before having to rush, then wrap up the final battle elsewhere.
I forgot about this. I really liked this Manga too. I was surprised when it ended...
Shit that deserved getting cancelled at 15 chapters is garbage like Hitome No Catoblepas or whatever the fuck it was called.
I assume that it's an anonymous vote? Why would they be embarrassed?
I thought the manga was complete.
I'd say it got a fair run. not everything lasts 400+ chapters, you know.
though it was at its best when they were still playing by the rules of the game, trying to survive and learn the skills and shit. When the kids became like actual characters and took up most of the screen time, it took another dive.
Do all the shounen mag have the same retarded ranking system as WSJ.
Maybe they're embarrassed to buy the tankobon not vote.
But To Love-ru is pretty popular and never got cancelled.
Not nearly as retarded, but I imagine they have their own rankings. They certainly don't just publish them like death-row.
It ended. Translations are just behind.
But dem girls are so delicious.
>mfw got cancelled for SWOT
I was so mad, so so mad.
I don't know I wouldn't assume so or else I doubt Embalming would still be going on in Jump Square, since despite the fact that I love it nobody seems to care about it at all.
someone please tell me d. grayman belongs in this thread
i dropped it long ago
At least this author moved on to bigger and better things with Gun X Clover.
Do you think he wanted to do prison school, or was it just a complete reversal from me and the devil blues that is ironically much more popular?
It got canceled from jump ages ago and another magazine picked it up.
That's why Darkness has a lot more nudity and adult scenes compared to before
Jesus fuck. I was so fucking mad, I at least wanted to know who did it and they pull this shit? I wish he'd at least come out and tell us who it fucking was.
Has anyone figured out who it was yet?
If there's ever been a bigger piece of shit run in WSJ, I'd really love to know.
holy fucking shit didnt that shit last like 5 chapters
It wasn't as bad as tokyopop original shit, trust me I used to read that garbage in middle school, but you're right it was pretty mediocre. It just had a weird fighting style and was going up against some other mediocre stuff at the time which is why people get angry it got axed.
>It got canceled from jump
It didn't. The author had to drop it because his wife is a cunt and was trying to sue him over Haruna.
Artstyle was pretty coo..
I wish it lasted only 5 chapters.
>best girl confesses
>FUCK YOU HERE HAVE YOUR FEELINGS INVALIDATED BY MAGIC
I am still mad.
I just checked. 20 chapters. Not bad...?
>It got canceled from jump ages ago and another magazine picked it up.
You're a retard.
Not like anyone ever read this, though.
I remember reading CH1, ignoring it for 5 years and then suddenly find out that it had gotten cancelled after a volume.
Ironic because both SWOT and Lock On! were infinitely better during their one shots than the actual serializations.
There were people on /a/ who enjoyed it, despite many others calling it shit. I don't think I've ever seen anyone praise SWOT.
Why would she do that?
It was kinda enjoyable. SWOT is still the worst.
Because she was a cheating bitch and some say Haruna was loosely based on her.
I really only read this for the artstyle.
None of these were interesting to begin with.
>She cheated on the author
>Later sued him because Haruna was based on her
>Then she tried to take her daughter away from her father
She's a cunt.
Shit, it actually got cancelled?
I thought it was just the scanlators being dicks, although i must admit it turned to shit at some point.
Nope, nothing will trump SWOT.
It was literal shit and I mean that in the most literal way possible.
Bakuman was cancelled too, ironically
>the best girl wins either way
Maybe add more gags?
I thought it finished normally, but it explains why it ended to quickly.
Itokoi Chidori and Aki Sora got cancelled because of the Tokyo Bill, didn't they?
Did these actually get oficially cancelled or you are just assuming they did because they ended in a rushed way?
Bakuman was popular and sold well, they ended it on their own terms.
Bakuman was predictable to the point of retardation and oh-my-fucking-god-repetitive. The fact that it lasted that long is what's actually surprising.
Mangazine it was in ended.
Apparently a sequel started, but I can't find it anywhere so no one must be doing it.
Sluts want money
At least we got Darkness
I think it just ended. That author never makes shit more than 150 chapters.
Is SWOT really as bad as you're all making it seem? I liked the oneshot
thought it was unique
now Baketeriya was something that felt like it could go on for a good year or two
It wasn't exactly cancelled. The artist and the author had a tiff didn't they?
Shit got cancelled?
news to me
It had it's own animated series and did relatively well with the sells. Everything that was listed here will never have that kind of success.
you're right, it wasn't shit. I just never got the hype about it, and didn't think it had much promise. I might not've voted it OUT of the magazine, but I sure wouldn't have made any effort to put it in.
>running against other mediocre stuff
that year, Toriko, Bakuman, and Psyren all premiered. And within another year, Medaka Box, Kuroko no Basuke, and Beelzebub started. those were bumper years, and there was just no room for DA.
Don't you hate it when that happens?
This thing right here had potential.
I knew I forgot something.
Too bad the author and artist hate each other, which is why it ended in the first place.
There's your problem. Now go read the actual serialization.
Didn't the author throw a hissy fit when he found out Americans were reading it online for free or something?
So he just ended it out of spite?
That kendo manga, Kurogane.
I was really enjoying it.
I actually enjoyed the oneshot as well. It just starts tumbling and never stops accelerating.
Taken away from us too soon. R.I.P sensei.
ITT: people don't know the difference between "cancelled" and "allowed to end"
>Itokoi Chidori and Aki Sora got cancelled because of the Tokyo Bill, didn't they?
Was it because they depicted incest and shit? This is the first time I've heard of it, googled it just then
>about to post this
>Ch.20a Read Online
What in the blueberry fuck
At least it's Doraemon-tier of popular, so it'll keep getting animations until Japan dies.
BUT MEDAKA BOX GOT CANCELLED TOO!
That fuuuucking ending
>more popular in Jump than Naruto 70% of the time
I'm pretty sure the author just decided to end that.
What goes up must come down.
I was shocked as all hell when that teach's boyfriend got his ass exploded. Didn't see that kind of shit could have possibly come from this kind of manga.
Always and forever.
Honestly, it wasn't going anywhere
They came back to give it a better ending. I wonder if we'll get the other half(?) anytime soon. Not that I actually really care. That was some night I decided to waste reading that.
Oh fuck I was pissed when the original ending came out. Then the epilogue came out and I could care less. Left a bad taste in my mouth either way. Same as that Ichigo 100% ending shit.
What about MUDDY?
Also, when is Bleach getting removed? I can't stand pretending to read it anymore.
I was refraining from doing this since it wasn't actually manga I gave a shit about but
To think it was cancelled is utter bullshit. It just ended. The author certainly didn't want to extend it more than necessary.
> Ichigo 100% ending shit.
Don't remind me
Even through the years i'm still infuriated upon hearing that title
I'm up to chapter 138 and literally reading it right now, did Medaka Box get cancelled? Few anons on here said it was meant to end at chapter 140
Ichigo 100% was a great manga, but then it got too popular and the author decided to add new girls who would get no relevance whatsoever after three chapters and forcing more misunderstandings between the main trio.
It really should've been shorter.
I still miss the crude toilet humor and the preachiness of it. Very down to earth even with the stories tackling RL social issues.
I remember the ntr? scene . Pretty hot but honestly this has no reason to come back , the story was already shit.
WHY IS THIS CANCELLED
WHILE THAT SHIT FEST CALLED BREAKER NW IS ONGOING
Bakuman lied to you.
Votes are anonymous.
To-Love-Ru was popular and was going to be one of the big 5, but was stopped by a whore's lawsuit and the authors daughter.
Ecchi Cutesy shit has a higher survival rate of continued serialization, over actual plot. Cause people are perverts, and want to read something fun, not something that makes them think.
The only reason why DN's author wrote that in, was to inspire youths, cause you know, shounen demographic.
Right 2008 was a while ago I guess all the mediocre shit I remember from back then like that knight hero school thing got cut as well.
It didn't. No cancelled manga wastes three entire chapters in re-introducing every single character ever shown. If anything, they didn't let Nisio end it earlier. Enjoy CH140, it's awesome.
I still believe the whole stuff after CH140 was planned from the beggining.
They canceled it so the author "ended" it best he could
Well at least we still have the LN
I heard he wrote himself into corner, that's why he pull this shit.
Is it worth mentioning Negima? Or is that less "canceled" and more "halted"?
eh as long as the anime continues I'm fine with it. Manga was too slow either way, and we have the LN. Anime/LN art >>>>> Manga art.
The new one will be better, art will be better as well
How come you guys disliked the ending?
I didn't mind his choice in female. But it did end kind of weird?
To this day, I still don't know what the fuck happened to Negima.
Fuckdamn shitcunts, I loved Asklepios.
One of those few medical manga I really enjoyed.
I was mad at first, but then I thought about it.
he didn't talk to her about his feelings for 3 years. how was she supposed to know? does he deserve to get her just because at the end he was able to spit it out?
whereas the girl he actually dated, who actually made an effort to go after him, should she be spited? was their relationship worthless?
it was a realistic ending.
Still mad Toujou didn't win? Your tears are delicious. Nishino full throttle.
Oh, I should have clarified; it wasn't the manga ending suddenly that made me sad, it was that the artist had to stop due to health issues. It was just a stroke of good luck that it happened to be getting an anime later that year
It just doesn't sit right with me
The anime adaptation.
>shame Bulge was just trash, and never got a chance to improce
Yeah, it had potential but was cut way too early. What a shame.
Although he won an award for Me and the Devil Blues, it was controversial, and frankly, not popular enough.
It's on Hiatus.
Best girl won. Not even mad.
Working girls as well.
And Savanna Game.
author had a good thing going but ruined it all in a span of 3-5 chapters including mister T
Greatest Incest manga Ending
Now, I'm sad.
That's great to hear. I saw WSJ's rankings a bit before it ended serialization and saw that it was near the bottom constantly so I got skeptical
Funny enough, it spent its entire run in the bottom. The tanks sold really well and Kumagawa was really damn popular, so there was no reason for it to get cancelled.
All of these manga ending, being rushed, or being axed, is also partially due to the authors.
They deliberately choose WSJ and it's sister magazines, when they should be open minded to the other serializations.
Fuck you man. That's not cool.
captcha: PROBLEMS Xesuldi
I'll also post a more topical one, but this is the series cancellation that most angered me.
It cuts off right in the fucking middle of the story and there is absolutely no closure.
Jesus. I remember dropping it when it started to go weird. Time to speed through a reread I guess.
Its hard to get mainstream exposure if its not. Gotta be pretty lucky to get noticed in other mags or just have a damn good story.
Why can't Togashi just die already?
I think it's just WSJ I don't think I've heard of something in Jump Square or Ultra Jump being super rushed for an ending aside from when they're moved to the magazines from WSJ.
Wait so D.Gray-Man isn't cancelled?
I'd be really happy if it wasn't, I have some strange love for that series even though it got pretty weird.
Holy shit, I thought the reason there was no more chapters was that nobody was scanlating it, not that it'd been canned.
oh god dammit
Well it's both. There's like 10 more chapters or something?
Hiatus. Mangaka was sick or some shit and then fucked off to do character designs for Valvrave
All I remember is that some scanlator dude contacted the author and asked permission if he could translate it into english. The author got pissed and decided to cancel it realizing that there were people leeching off his works while he got nothing.
Author now works with a different pen name on a different project that no one has scanlated passed chapter 2.
Nyan Koi Anime Season 2
pitou is a girl, fuck you togashi
I'll concede Kurapika and the Zoldyc trannies as boys, but leave my peacoat catgirl alone
Too tired to check, have we posted this yet?
That was the Breaker. Apparently though the author has learned not to give a shit.
Samurai Usagi just got finished with the scanlations, baring the final extra chapter
and while it's only average, I remember reading the first chapters of it in Japan back in '07, so it's got a place in my heart. glad to be able to read the whole thing.
That never got officially announced, though. The last segment of the last episode was just a joke.
Would have loved to see where it would have gone but I'll admit, it was pretty boring.
Why would he just care about Americans and not the other 7 billion on the planet? Seems kind of crazy.
Oh is that why it was marked completed temporarily, but then not? Some /a/non dumped the first chapter here, I was meant to read the rest of it, and should probably do so now.
I hate this author so much and I can do nothing about it.
I feel sorry for the suckers who read his manga they just get raped at every turn
What's the story behind this?
>chick with big tits
how did that manage to get canceled
What are some manga series that most of /a/ can agree on having an acceptable ending
Fucked up part is your pretty much right, this is worse than waiting for Berserk chapters.
yeah, there's only 67 chapters. and then the FINAL BATTLE chapter that was released in Jump Square, that hasn't been done yet.
it's really cute and I wish it had been allowed to develop more. In the last arc, you could see the author trying to get more battle-shonen-y with it, and I don't think he was doing too badly.
I don't even know, it had all the makings for your epik generic shounen mango, but it failed.
Basically big fight, villain escaped with main girl, the end. No more chapters ever.
Also most of his other manga have suffering ending and massive characters killing for no reason.
It could have been good
Wasn't Reversible! cancelled too?
So /a/ what is Dragon Riot's chances? I can't see it making it to the end of the year.
The first arc was pretty popular, then it just fell off. I really enjoyed it.
It's already been axed for a few months now anon. At chapter 18 or 19 IIRC.
Does anyone know what happened to the Gurren Lagann manga?
>Just imagine how he felt when he forced himself to draw one last single page, where every character is smiling, knowing that those characters missed a lot of adventures and will never be together again.
This ruined my day. Thanks, anon.
I knew it didn't have a chance but I got so attached.
6/10, almost fell for it.
Don't jinx it anon
Not a huge loss, but I liked it
She should cancel it at this point it turned into a unredeemable cluster fuck.
i thought it got a sequel
Wait they canned this? I was actually looking for the name but quit
please tell me the ending is okay at least
I want some closure though. It's better than most shounenshit anyway.
>m-muh chinese setting
Uhhhh, no I'm sorry anon it's one of those
>We'll let you end it but you have 2 chapters, Max.
Tokage no Ou
And pic related
What's the author working on now?
The author fucked up not the publisher
But the gooks love those chinagirls. I mean they're in everything.
Honestly, if he made another manga, I'm sure it would be pretty popular.
Cage of Eden killed itself at the end.
What a waste of Buriki.
Some High School mystery thing or something.
I don't think it's being translated at all
How did he fuck up?
Chinese girls, sure.
Chinese setting is blasphemous, however.
I was going to list a few, but most of them are just things that ran for less than 5 years and so just sort of ran a natural course and got to the end they were always going to get to, since from when the author planned the story. (Oyaji, Strongest Man Kurosawa, Biscuit Hammer)
and I don't feel like that's what you're asking for here.
some long-runners who managed to end with grace, well...
FMA maybe? Biscuit Hammer. Honestly, it's pretty hard to think of completed shit that people actually read AND had a decent ending. Sumire 16. OMK has its own detractors.
What about Fushigi Yugi?
i really want to live
Dragged it on way too long without any development until they found the research facility. honestly it had something going until it became clearer and clearer the author was writing himself into a box.
Not enough time spent with the kawaii as fuck aliens.
muh time travel
Not cool man
So many cute girls, never to be seen again
Highschool of The Dead. Lets not pretend that its ever coming back, since the author is a lazy fuck.
Air Gear also pretty much screwed the pooch and became so retarded and convoluted that I'm glad they cancelled it.
Apparently Kurosawa is getting/got a sequel.
I don't really feel happy about this because Kurosawa had a pretty good ending, and it doesn't make sense to continue.
>wanted to post Subaru
>find out it actually got a sequel
Black Cat's ending was pretty good. It had the whole spirit power cliche, but it didn't feel super rushed or anything.
Shoujo, one of the older shoujo manga.
So it has a lot of popularity with women, and some men. Also, that was pre-2000.
QUESTION : Will Hajime no Ippo end or get cancelled
It will go on until the sun collapses in on itself and goes super nova.
Not cool anon
Cute girls indeed.
The author will die before it finishes, just like Berserk.
No, but it wouldn't be awful if it stopped where it did.
People are still are still waiting on HoD? When was the last chapter drop?
And Ippo will still be in Japan.
I have found that Black Cat is like the perfect gateway manga.
and I mean that in a good way.
It's got enough powers and fights for boys (that's why I liked it initially), but also enough feelings and pretty men for the girls (what my sister saw in it).
I don't know anyone who hates it, but it's also not such a unique experience that everything else will pale in comparison, and you'll be able to go "I liked _____ part, what else has that?" and find things.
and most of all, it doesn't contain a cancerous fanbase for the new reader to discover and get lost in.
Ruroni Kenshin is in the same boat, I think.
I wanted to see them get killed by the animals for being stupid like what was promised at the start. But then everyone kept surviving impossible encounters with them. Fucking cunt made it into a total a battle shounen instead of a horror like it should have been.
And Team Guts will still be on the boat to the Fairy Kingdom.
Like 8 months ago.
Will Kochikame end?
just as soon as Kochikame ends
>Fate Hollow Ataraxia translation 99.2%
>Tsukihime remake translation 22%
Negima is such a dissapointment, I still remember the time where the manga was at the final arc, got multiple OVAs and even the first original movie adaption from SHAFT. Seemed like Negima was at it's peak of popularity but yet...
But if I had to guess why it got axed, it's probably because Namek dragged on forever and nobody cared about that.
Can you imagine being a mangaka, making volume after volume of work....then one day your manager says it's over. You have to stop working on the characters and universe you put your heart and soul into everyday. Feels bad, man.
>meanwhile americlaps are shocked simpsons has lasted 20 seasons
Are they not allowed to write additional chapters on their own?
i possibly cant imagine how boring the writing needs to be to fuck this up
i can clearly see it popular
Well Nagai said fuck you to that. Although it wasn't exactly the editors who cancelled him directly.
Kenshin really should have stopped after the Shishio arc. Enishi was an AWFUL villain and the fights were absolutely boring beyond belief.
Yahiko should get a complete spinoff manga.
Wait, which part was Namek? The whole thing kinda dragged out after the first tournament arc.
Jojo will never end, because Araki is immortal.
Don't do this.
Don't be that guy, anon.
Honestly with that ending I am glad it did, fucking author.
Jojo's supposed to end after the part after this or something.
I actually read this expecting a manga similar to Beelzebub
boy was I wrong
how did this end?
If i was in that situation, i'll tell my manager to go fuck him self, write new chapters during my spare time, and then release them online for free. Or i can sell them a comiket.
At least do a little internet research. Ken ended it himself.
Are the WSJ rankings graphed anywhere?
I saw that it got axed and since it had 20 something chapters I decided to give it a go. I wasn't expecting much but it was decent, didn't deserve its early cancellation.
>F/HA reaches 99.98%
>"lel we trull u xD"
It got pretty shitty after it became a battle manga, aside from 20 years from the future lambo.
In the end, nothing changed and it essentially went back to the first chapter in terms of character development.
Too bad you wouldn't have the time for making it when your top priority is trying to live.
the future arc was just retarded
why didnt they kill it earlier
Probably not. Would be an interesting thing to see. Perhaps a line graph spanning decades.
At least we know Tsuna grew up to be a badass, and rich too.
Ippo will lose to Ricardo Martinez, then lose all motivation to box. Then Miyata will beat Martinez, and Ippo will train to beat him. The last panel will be a 2 page highly detailed spread of the gong ringing to start the fight.
Ippo and Kumi will never kiss or get together
You think space on magazines are free and you can put whatever you want there?
They probably sign silly Japanese contracts that prevents them from trying to be innovative with their own work.
not true. the Varia arc was great.
but everything else was dogshit, yeah
Even if he really said that, it doesn't make sense since he finally turned Negima into a battle manga he always wished for.
And it was a fat cashcow at that time.
It literally doesn't make sense why he would say that when it was going so strongly.
No amount of good art can save a bad story.
In this case, the story wasn't bad, just boring.
im pretty sure the magazine takes all the rights
It makes more sense than a publisher cancelling a manga with good sales and popularity.
I blame it on a bad main character. he was just too much of a bored asshole.
if he had been more badass, or more charismatic, or even MORE of a bastard, it might have worked.
The manga didn't do well in the ratings for a long period of time, it just seemed that Negima did well because of all the movie/OVA adaptions were going on.
In fact, the Negima movie was terrible and did not deliver what it promised.
This just reminds me of the live action show. Probably among the worst adaptations of fiction I've ever seen.
It is completed but it will never be fully scanlated
I'll never know if it had a good ending or bad because I can't find the raws.
I don't think this guy finished any of his manga.
The volumes still sold for 200k. Who the fuck cares about the ratings?
>There was an live action show
I don't know if it was actually canceled or if the author just wrote himself into a corner.
But yeah...they don't get cancelled though she just gets bored of her works and start another.
Fuck her because she can draw good shotas but never finish it.
Fuck it, I won't suffer alone with this knowledge.
Which do you think is worse, this or Sailor Moon?
You could always ask the group who did it for them potentially. Their ddl still work and there's still a guy in their irc it seems.
Wow, I would say Negima cause I know it has no fans (the live version of SM has some fans)
Yeah, I got a friend that has shit internet so can only buy manga. She's been holding out for new chapters for years now.
Now I remember what I wanted to mention earlier.
Bomber Grape needed to free up his schedule to make more 2hu doujins.
probably a bot but will try either way
Zai x 10 is a riot though.
The latest chapter revealed a TWEEST that nobody saw coming.
Go watch the Ranma 1/2 live OVA and rethink that statement.
Bitch can draw really good everything. I wish she would do are for more shit now.
I-revo was great stuff, i was surprised it bombed
What was the twist again?
To be continued
I'm scarred for life now, thanks anon.
They can make doujins of their own work. The guy who drew YKK made hentai of his stuff while it was still running.
Speaking of which, isn't it about time for the next Ohba/Obata collaboration? Bakuman ended almost two years ago (which was the spacing between Death Note and Bakuman) and neither one of them have been particularly active since.
Spoiler: Negi's actor is a grill
Not officially unless they somehow got the rights from the publisher.
Artist is drawing for All you need is Tom Cruise Holywood movie
he later finished it though because of fans demands
Not sure if it helps or hurts.
Pretty sure JoJo will end at Part 9. It'd work pretty well as a trilogy. Stone Mask/DIO arc, Stand Arrow/Restart arc and New Universe/??? arc
The question is when will Part 8 and 9 actually be finished
Girl in chapter 11 is the heroine. She's a robot.
Her mission? Disable her "sisters". Which happened to be the girls we saw in the last 10 chapters. Which also happened to be robots.
Even the grandma.
Wait it wasn't cause he made a bad guy that couldn't really be beaten even before he got a power up?
All The weird characters until now are all mahou shojos.
I feel so stupid now.
What about molested-chan?
Technically, they aren't robots nor magical girls. They're modified humans.
Every girl. No exception. The defining trait of the modified girls is that they have some sort of ribbon apparel on their bodies which happens to be their power source.
And you will now reread the past ten chapters to look for the ribbons on each girl.
Hence why Watsuki stopped it since he realised that it was going to draggy for even his own liking. He was planning to do a really dark and edgy story with Kaworu's death but then realised that it does not work that way in Shounen and have to revive her at the end
At least we got Makka na Chikai.
That was a forced ending because it got cancelled. He still had plenty to write.
At least they let him wrap it up with an acceptable ending.
>And you will now reread the past ten chapters to look for the ribbons on each girl.
>All the girls have that polka dot (heart?) ribbon accessory on them.
Goddamit Bomber Grape.
I will read this to know what does the Maize means for Mankin universe
That fake Kaworu bullshit death actually made me consider dropped it right then and there. If there wasn't only like 20 chapters left, I wouldn't have finished it.
He totally made the right decision when he ended it. Any more crap like that and he would have ruined Kenshin.
Holy shit bomber grape, he do what kumeta does in 11 chapter.
And not to mention each chapter is like 10 pages.
>would have ruined Kenshin.
dont worry the anime adaptation already did that
The MC was a pretty cool guy too. Too bad Japan always had shit taste ;_;
Rabbit was fucking amazing, we need more characters like him. Snake was my waifu
>No wonder the other magazines are putting out big hit series now, all the talent left WSJ.
Last time I checked JUMP is still outselling everything and still has more new talent coming in unlike Kodansha and Shokkugan
I'll put my vote in for Rozen Maiden, although that wasn't cancelled as much as Peach Pit decided they had fallen in love with Shugo Chara and stopped writing RM... and gave it the shittiest ending.
I loved this show and only a couple of eps got subbed -_- One of the actresses left for one reason or another halfway through, which kinda sucked.
>According to Bakuman
Yeah you should never take anything stated in Bakuman seriously
Don't Shueisha owns Shogakukan as well?
My mistake, it's the other way around
Yes and no. There's rankings but they're not as severe however if a title is doing poorly in sales theyre either moved to club sunday website or left to die out which is actually worse.
Cool lie bri
Not really cancelled but these Liar Game hiatus are killing me.
as i remember yes
he got bored of it because he couldnt come up with an asspull for heroes to beat him
Can, you blame him thou? Control of all 5 elements, mind reading, and more mana than anyone in the whole series. I know bad guys are supposed to be OP but how can you beat him with out a asspull the size of Jupiter.
THIS GOT CANCELLED?!
I'm here to remind you /a/spies, most series get axed because they deserve to get axed.
I remember this. Murika's last try to do an animation that's semi not-shit. They failed of course.
It got cancelled?
Sure, things that don't sell deserve to get axed of course.
I don't really remember this other than him using a broken pair of glasses to MacGuyver himself some surgical scissors. I guess medical dramas just aren't popular.
Check batoto. The group scantalating this said it ends at around ch15 so it's more than likely it got axed
>something that makes them think.
What could make a 13 year old boy think ?
Boobs can make a 13 year old boy think, they can make him think "Damn those are some fine ass tits"
I-I just saw a post saying that it looks like it'll hit a conclusion by 15. There's still hope right? This is one of the few decent things running...
Also yes, best! Koizumi a good
>I thought he wrote himself into a corner
That's High School of the Dead.
How do you end a zombie manga?
Still waiting for new releases of I Am a Hero, 134 days since the last one and counting.
>How do you end a zombie manga?
have them all die, duh.
Well, I guess that works, it was fine in the Dawn of the Dead remake, but still.
I thought that this was keikaued to have only one arc XD
was about to post
It was cancelled!?
The tears never stop flowing!
Breaker is better than the near-end of veritas. it felt rushed, and the fight with fire-dude was forced as fuark
What? the battlemanga part was redeemable, it was a pretty terrible gag-manga
"No Shinji, you are the zombie." And then Shinji was a zombie.
Pretty sure that's dead anon. I couldn't find anything about it after it "ended".
another fine girl that never got the D
I don't know man, I'd rather trust a professional mangaka's word than some random anonymous on an internet imageboard.
Does manga licensing work differently in Japan or do they have different attitudes to their work? American comics sometimes have a couple of runs, cartoons too.
What the fuck? What difference does it make? There's no official English translation to buy anyway.
This one hurt.
Wasn't it serialized again? Or was it canned a second time?
Turned to shit long before the ending. Good riddance is more like it.
I never knew what the fuck was going on anyway. It made no kinds of sense at any point.
Became shit long before it ended.
Naaaah, unlike the breaker, this korean fighting manhwa was just pure shit.
Veritas was on nother whole level compared to those two though, such wasted potential
why does shit like new waves get a fucking sequel
can we have the other way?
manga that should have FUCKING STOPPED!!!! JUST FUCKING STOP MOTHER FUCKER
Ratings are shit, sales are what actually matter.
Bakuman made rankings so important in order to make the competition more interesting - teenagers would've found it boring if characters were just comparing sales. Don't forget that Bakuman is basically a spokon.
Just like they mention popular manga like One Piece, you can notice that throughout the story it's never mentioned in rankings or among the manga published in Jump.
>tokage no ou
I was just getting in to it.
Cage of Eden was great. Starts off strong, gets better, creates fuckloads of mysteries to solve and then BAM cancelled have your shitty ending instead.
You can tell it got cancelled by the ending. He just kinda goes "TIME TRAVEL PLAGUE THINGY THE END" when there were dozens of other things he needed to answer.
What is a spokon?
Although not nearly as bad as that, Rurouni Kenshin went too long, as well as GTO. These two should have ended an arc earlier than they did.
YYH on the other hand should have either ended an arc early or had its final arc greatly expanded, as it could have been amazing if done correctly.
sports/competition manga, I think
Aline 9. The original 3 volumes were great, but I fucking hate Emulators. It took a good story that was already wrapped up pretty well, and turned it into shit.
Also, Mirai Nikki should've ended without the 3rd world arc. It really felt like it was supposed to end and the author just decided to drag it more.
I didn't know the things authors write in their made up stories were considered to be actual, quotable facts. Great to know.
I remember really liking it a lot right up until they gave the tomboy a make over turning her into the girliest women there was, then forced drama up the ass and the family members never appearing anymore. It was completely ruined in like 3 chapters.
Short for スポーツ + 根性, sports manga about willpower and guts. Like Ippo and One Outs, for example.
>not blood related
Shitty copout is shit.
I'm still raging for this one too
People called it Lost - "The Manga" and in the end they were right.
Still nowhere as bad as Lost though.
Lost was mentioned in a reply to your post.
Don't think, even for a femtosecond, that it would be different; mystery stories are always, *always* like that. Make shit on the way until it's canceled, then delivering nothing.
It still hurts.
I'm still not sure if I should get mad or not since Prison School is actually good and I enjoyed it.
This manga is really bad.
Konjiki no Gash bell
The Violinist of Hameln
Pic related, so much PLOT potential.
Which was the manga that in the end said something like "lol I won't continue this manga in any way"
it had potential, but i felt it was really rushed, not sure if it's due to the mangaka himself, or the editors
A lot of WSJ axed titles probably would have lasted a lot longer in either Sunday or Magazine.
Yeah, but you know, MatDB was completely unique, I don't think I've ever read anything quite like it.
And now for harem antics.
Fuck you for reminding me the pain
Only if he Ippo beats Pacquiao
What happened to that? Did they give a reason or it just wasn't mentioned again?
Double arts was interesting as fuck. Granted, the author wrote himself into a dead end, but shit was going to get good.
skipping entire potentially interesting arc
This manga was made just for me. Knew it wasn't gonna last, but it still sucks.
It's an edit to troll Mx0 and DA fans. Bakuman set itself in the near future specifically so they wouldn't end up calling out any current manga.
This was probably my favorite manga of 2013.
I can't believe it got axed just like that ;_;
Nigger are you trolling?
Just a couple of weeks ago chapter 13 came out
;_; pls be trolling
Nigga, you're lying.
fuck is that fucking harry potter music?
the plot was pretty generic.
But I liked the world and I wanted to learn more about metal ;_;
Still waiting for that promised continuation.
Still waiting for that promised continuation.
Wait, I though it's end with Harada Riku win?
i will never know why?
DONT REMIND ME
Tanabe say this is a short story.
I agree, it was good. And it's not even fully translated.
you're gonna to hell anon.
Stop telling lies
Haruhi is pretty much a dead series at this point.
I thought it was confirmed as a short story.
Though I like it's concept better than what Tanabe's got going on now.
Source? Seems to still running. Would be a shame.
It was really cancelled?
I thought that was still ongoing, but not getting translated?
YES. this shit
I will kill you, you lying piece of shit.
RIP in peace glorious monster girls. ;_;7
B-but it just released a chapter.
Any Ice Revolution fans?
Don't remind me pls.
I thought Pretty Face had a natural end?
There will never be another volume.
What? You better not lying anon.
Fuck you anon. You best be joking!
He can't be telling the truth, nothing that author writes ever ends.
And people still hire him/her to write manga?
As was mentioned further up the thread, she does a good shota.
Not just Americans, he referring to everyone who reads online for free in general.
Not sure about the licensing stuff but Veritas is a Korean manhwa and that industry there just isn't as big as Japan. Which is probably why authors like Im Dal Young chose to be serialized in Japan instead..
Also, consider that sites like Mangafox earns like $3,000/day from ads. Manhwa authors probably don't even anything close to that. You could even tell how butthurt the author/artist was from the last farewell page.
Did it end or "end"? Was there like actual closure or just cancelled?
>Also, consider that sites like Mangafox earns like $3,000/day from ads
Wow, that's... kinda admirable in a twisted way.
>Bigger and Better
Maybe if you're just counting the fanservice.
It has a badass shota MC.
>No season 2
>manga spinoff done in 16~ chapters
LN adaptations have little staying power.
What I would give to have those two keep going. We'd have tons of anime and OVAs of them by now.
>to come back mature in second part
D-does this mean that Veritas will be continued?
did Yamaguchi left a script before dying?
a lot of authors do that, and he was about ending the LNs
Even if he did that, it would not be the same.
Also, did the anime finished conclusively?
I was a fool once too.
Where are them yurifags?
Me and the Devil Blues is the only I'm sad about
Ane doki ended
Do cancelled translations count?
Well blame it on the fact that he got caught swiping poses from photographs.
No reason whatsoever. They announced and then kept quiet about it.
It's been more than 2 years; it's dead, Jim.
fuck you ;_;
>All character development killed
>50000000 plot holes
>power leveling got to retarded levels
I enjoyed all the arc, all the battles but the final arc didn't even feel like a conclusion to the story, Lambo was a bad character overall and so was Tsuna in non-Hyper Dying Will mode. If I remember well the final battle was pretty much "Screw all the weapons, all the powers ups, just use the power you before fighting Mukuro" And the fucking powers...
>Rings unsealed by 1st
>Break them in the next arc
>Every character gets to use their Gears for like 1 time
>Sunbro gets exed at the very beggining of the final arc
The anime did the final fight better. But I love how in Flowers, Hana pretty much has a fucking GOD as his uncle
I think it should be a crime for ANY story to remain unfinished. Even the worst brain aneurism inducing fanfiction deserves to be finished.
I know I should have expected it, but fuck you Lim Dall-young.
Dropped before I even picked up.
Dunno how that guy is still an author.
Why don't you try writing something better?
Any retard can write better than him as long as they know that a story needs a fitting ending.
But you're not writing anything better. Are you less than a retard?
Already did. Already earned my money from it. It isn't published outside my country though.
Was it about your love for OP and Cocks?
Anyone remember the name of that manga with the smartass prince whose kingdom gets invaded by a completely psychotic evil princess who wants his dick and wants to make him her husbando because he beat her once?
>Mangafox earns like $3,000/day from ads
Yet they do nothing... Fuck, I wish I was born earlier so I could be a proper jew.
I was enjoying it and looking forward to metal-shenanigans
>le bleach clone
Original TLR (I-I liked it)
Why do they do this?
This would have been better if they FUCKING GOT TO THE ALIENS sooner.
I suffered through all the boring as shit setup. By the time we saw aliens I didn't even care anymore.
Ken ended it because new regulations were going to be enacted that were going to severely impact his profit margin.
The entire premise of mangas like these always irks me.
I hate when fantasy/old world menaces come back, after getting beaten by old world weapons, and suddenly think they're going to stand a chance against new age technology.
Youkai? They could just bomb them from high atmosphere.
>Character still develop and mature over the course of the series as they move into the next stage of their lives
I loved Sket Dance so much. Also, they had teens that actually looked like teens.
And RHS about $120. Japanzai about half of it. Daily.
And if you pasted your name into Alexa it would give you similar amount.
I know I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did
this was cancled? didn't it just end?
The end seemed so sudden
Because it was cancelled, bro.
I'm not seeing 1, 9 and 7's ribbons, though.
sudden ending but canceled?
That's normally what a cancellation forces. A sudden ending.
Was it this? Your description seemed kinda similar to it.
don't you dare say something like that without a citation.
Medaka Box was canceled?
Didn't it just end?
what happened to that?
I'm truly mad, even more having a hair fetish.
Oh God that is it
I was enjoying watching him getting psycho princess to wet her panties and then the series just ended
I wanted to see what happened next, dammit
