After a few years of devoted viewing of 7 to 10 good to even moderately shitty anime each season, with a decent backlog, lately I've been having trouble getting excited about even 2 or 3 series per season. I'm not interested in the next cookie-cutter moeblobs or the same boring high school plots, or even token magical shonen.

And it's not just bad series that's the problem. When I went to the Madoka Rebellion screening, I saw a bunch of weeaboos in their mid-20s with dyed hair and costumes, and I just thought, "Wow, is that my future?" I'm a college sophomore now, so even the few normal people on my campus who might watch anime keep it deeply hidden, as do I.

In other words, am I growing up, /a/?
