let's talk about Hyouka.
I'm curious, what would /a/'s reaction to an announcement of season 3?
>Chitanda 18 years old
It will be a huge time skip to Oreki as a detective working to find his wife, Chitanda's killer. It will show his slow decent into madness with plenty of suffering along the way. The entirety of the first two seasons was just him looking at the good times.
Fuck, KyoAni really should get the writer to skip the books an write for them, that's the only way we'll ever get a season 2.
Actually that wouldn't be too bad.
Has any of the source material been translated?
We'll have to get a season 2 first, OP. A 2 cour series is not 2 seasons. Nor are two openings.
Tears of joy.
It would be about the life of Chitanda and Oreki.
They just got married and is adapting to the new life.
Chitanda got curious about everything.
Alright people, OP 1 or 2?
OP 2 is the correct answer.
The source is nothing like the anime, don't bother.
I would greatly welcome it.
On the other hand, I think it was pretty much perfect the way it was, any additional stuff might ruin that for me.
I'd be happy. I rather enjoyed Hyouka.
If anything Oreki will be the detective and Chitanda would be the assistant.
OP 1 was far better, I had to skip OP 2 for most episodes. It was so boring. Normally I'd respect your opinion, but since we're on /a/, eat a dick faggot.
Damn why is every one /fa/ as fuck?
I love it when people use insults with Chitanda.
This just makes me want to read it all the more.
How fucking cute
A lot of recent KyoAnus characters are fly-ass niggas.
2 was more lewd.
EDs > OPs
cause japan is /fa/
2nd ED is best ED.
You can have differing opinions, but I don't care to hear them.
That's just a homeless man right?
I agree that there's too much of a chance to ruin a new season.
Maybe a movie would work better?
His things are way too clean.
/fa/ as fuck.
Only if Mayaka and Satoshi don't appear in it
Why is that?
>no mayaka and satoshi
But then I won't get to see satoshi fuck around with mayaka's feelings!
Pay attention and you will notice every time they appear, they bring in bad drama.
That's the only thing drags Hyouka down.
>you will never be as /fa/ as Oreki
"Why are we getting a Season 3 before Season 2?"
Probably, either way his outfit is nextlvl as fuck. Even dissidents are raising the bar nowadays.
>Chitanda goes I'm curious
>mon visage quand
It will be a timeskip that stars their kids.
Anyone have those fanarts?
I'm curious where season 2 went
>I can recognize those black shadows
Guess I should cut down my 4chan time.
I was rewatching and something that bothered me was how the juumoji guy (far left) managed to drop the book in front of Mayaka.
No man since the 1800s may, can, or will ever rock a cape like Houtarou. Never.
I miss Hyouka.
Also, Yuragi o Tomonau Demonstration BEST OST TRACK. COME AT ME.
Walked by her and then walked out
Dropped it and slid it across the floor
What's the name of the track that played when Oreki and Satoshi were on the bridge in the snow?
He's still there so it just seems really risky to slide it across the middle of the room.
Well hes a big risk taker
Probably 解決ながらも暗然 from disc 10.
Reminder that this will never happen ;-;
Is there any clues at least that we'll get a season 2? A movie? An OVA? Or is the show dead already?
It's been dead, there simply isn't enough source material, and likely won't ever be.
What about the chapter five that didn't get animated? I mean, at least and OVA could be produced from that right?
wtf is this about a season 3?
Joy, but I know it will never happen.
Still no announcements man.
Author posted on twitter recently saying something to the effects of 'I've got a great idea for a new story, but it's too soon yet'
It was from an anime magazine, can't remember. Try by reverse searching the image.
You better not get my hopes up for nothing man.
Was around last September if I remember, wish I screen capped it but you'll just have to take my word for it.
Whoever drew this can't into genetics.
Rito's designs don't seem like they'd fit well in the Hyoukaverse.
What would you name them /a/?
These would be the cutest characters, goddamn it.
Dick and Kitty
Oh no, Oreki's daughter looks CURIOUS.
You mean season 2.
Mayaka is best girl its that cunt Satoshi that needs to fuck off.
Such a huge fucking faggot
Yetzel and Bobbi-Jean.
He can't help it he has ADD and is afraid his love for Mayaka will be fading.
I'm the only one that want to see Mayaka and Oreki together while they leave Chitanda and Satoshi NTRed and depressed.
satoshi is such a shitstick
>Mayaka x Oreki
Please seek mental help.
Oreki's daughter is too sexy. That sex hair...
That's because of Oreki's perfect gene.
for some reason looking at these pictures are making me extreamly depreesed.
I didn't even like the show that much,
I found every character to be to self-loathing and bitchy
It's one of the most boring anime I have ever watched,
>muh action guys where are the titans XD
Always struggled to understand this opinion, could you explain please?
Don't even agree with him, but no reason to act superior
Only Satoshi was like that... and a few side characters during the Kanya Fest arc.
The show was on the melancholy side, especially with the ending in Oreki's inability to confess... but I kind of liked how it gave that sting or reality. There will never be some magic end where everyone is happy (like how the club movie was resolved) and sometimes we're confined to family expectations but are okay with that (with Chitanda at the end).
I think you should give it a rewatch, I found Hyouka to be a very compelling show. I'm scared to say it's subtle in case of being called pretentious, but it is a very slow and quiet show and you can miss things if you're not paying attention or not invested in the cast.
Recessive genes and shit, I guess.
That would be too boring, he'd probably fall asleep trying.
I had a feeling it was him but when it came to the reveal and he broke that heart without hesitation, for is stupid selfish reasons, I have never wanted to punch a fictional character more in my life.
I originally thought it was boring, then it grew on me somewhere halfway, then towards the end I loved it and rewatched soon after.
imagine chitanda being all kininarimasu about how babies are made
Recessive genes or not, the kid should inherit ONE of the parents' eye color, not a mixture of both.
>newfags trying to be smart
No we mean season 3
Something like this?
Not if both parents had the recessive gene.
And phenotypical genetics doesn't exist in 2D anon, her eyes are whatever color the story demands
Not necessarily. Suppose, for example, Oreki's dad has got blue eyes and so does Chitanda's grandmother. It's possible their kid will too. Chitanda already has some weird mutation to have eyes like that, so pretty much anything goes anyway.
>All of this son and daughter art
What the hell, was this hinted somewhere?
I like her dress
No, its all art from the same person. It's just their own personal idea.
haha season 3 he says...
novel already ended so hyoukafags should not hope. unless they do some reboot like Negima or mutou. but who would want to do 22 episodes all over again?
It's just fan art. Makes you wish it were canon though, no?
Has KyoAni announced what they will be doing after Chuuni2?
Well not really, I was just shocked that a single person made so many with such great quality on characters that are nothing but fanfic.
Not even some of the most popular Touhou fan characters get this many quality submissions.
Tamako movie and another Takemoto anime.
>novel already ended
Novel is still on going, just been on a long hitaus since volume 5.
No. They'll probably make an announcement after Chuu2 finishes like they did with the Tamako Movie & the end of KnK, if not a little before that.
They'll probably do from their homebrew LN library.
Hyouka's director Takemoto will be working on something.
And it's supposed to be something completely original, from what I heard. (Not based on a LN)
What the hell? Why can't we have a movie covering vol.5? Why do you do this to me KyoAni?
Kyoani lately is focusing moreso on their original stories, rather than adaptations.
Exclusively would be a more appropriate term. Hyouka was the last title they adapted that wasn't theirs.
KnK S2 when?
Late this year or early next, I'd guess.
Fall 2014 or winter 2015.
That's completely wrong what the hell are you talking about.
You can have the color of you grand parents for example.
A little late but 解決ながらも暗然, or "A Disappointing Resolution" as I poorly translated it.
Best track on the OST by far.
Chitanda has the finest neck, upper back, and clavicles
Never, I hope.
>Chitanda and Oreki's kid
Who's the megane dude supposed to be?
That comma placement. Oreki's married to Chitanda's killer?
Tamako market got one, so why the fuck not?
I'd watch it
>that last shot of her hand lowering
That or its the Vice President's kid. Cause he had glasses and the same blue hair.
Also Hyouka was Takemoto's personal project which he and Shouji Gatou did just because they loved the novel. Now that it's out of the way, he's back to doing stuff that Studio wants
Mirai is a reprehensible character. When Akihito was sitting in the restaurant with her I wanted him to grab a fork and jam it into her wrist, pinning her arm to the table. "How do you like it, you fucking cunt?" He grabs a few steak knives from adjacent tables and stabs them into her arms, legs, stomach, and chest, DEEP. She cries out in pure agony. Screams of pain fill the restaurant. "Do you like it, you disgusting wretch? Do you now understand a fraction of the pain I felt being stabbed through the heart day after day? Do you like it, you sadistic hell-bitch?"
I had dreams of murdering her in various ways for weeks.
But beyond my hate for Mirai, I dislike KnK because I don't believe any real person would actually be so forgiving over the torture that Akihito endured. Akihito at that point ceased to be a character I cared about because I no longer believed that anything he felt was remotely close to what a human would feel. He no longer was a believable character, because I don't think a sane human being would act the way he did.
Dat bittersweet ending.
>you will never be a boy genius that realise you are not only in love with a girl but you are willing to marry into her family to help her
Ep 22 was honestly one of the best episode that KyoAni have ever made
Did anyone find the manga adaptation enjoyable?
I had no idea there was a manga adaptation.
Released in 2012 - not sure if it preceded the anime by a few months or not
>mfw peasants don't appreciate the ending simply because no kissu
>Greatest love story never told
Looking back at the novel, it's a glorious wonder they managed to kept the ending as accurate as they can to the novel
Movie would be better
Nothing give me a bigger boner than girls with short, messy hair.
I never watched the first two seasons.
Watch it. And then rewatch it.
These fanart look nearly official I was shocked at first.
I need to find a good guide to /fa/ anime characters, and redo my entire wardrobe
It's either that or an adaptation of somebody else's property.
A very nice and comfy show that let you have good dreams at night?
Isn't this the sort of stuff /fa/ likes to wear anyway? You could just check them out.
It was hard for me to get into Hyouka, but it was a good ride once I did. I'd certainly enjoy a new season.
She was killed by Irisu
So Irisu killed Chitanda so, with her out of the picture, Oreki would fall in love with her. Oreki ends up finding out after some adventures and investigation and has to face a crucial dicotomy: Should I avenge my past love, or should I support the current one?
>later found out Chitanda is actually alive
>Final face off between first love and current waifu
When will these silly foreigners finally admit and accept that there won't be any sequels whatsoever?
>If we push hard enough, the writer might write more books!
Which Hyouka episode did you guys think was the worst? Either 6 or 11 for me. Probably 11.
I liked 11 because of this.
Hyouka was an good show with very good visuals and it also was a landmark of the technical aspects of animation.
It also was boring as fuck. It's a decent SOL but with characters that at least had multi-layerd personalities while not being too stereotypical. Too bad the narrative doesn't focus about these things. And the main plot also seemed a little too weak for an "detective"/drama to unfold properly. But the rest still is at least great or even amazing.
And I liked Satoshi for many reasons. Suck it faggots.
I would anticipate another season, even if it's just because of the pretty visuals.
Oh boy, I think I should rewatch the BD rips again soon
I've attempted episode one three times and fell asleep each time until eventually getting through it. I want to see the visuals but it's so fucking boring.
Wait until you get to the movie arc, or go directly to the Kanya arc.
Humanity at it's best
How the fuck can you sleep while you intend to watch a series?
I am also tired as shit when I overworked, but I have enough energy to stay up for a couple of days if I want to without even flinching about the mere thought of it.
Great, I've been having trouble trying to sleep at night.
Chitanda is here to fix that.
I loved the atmosphere and feel of Hyouka so much. Fuck those of you who think it is boring, go watch SnK instead.
I tried but not only was Chitanda putting me off, the slowness and general disinterest in the situation over a locked classroom made me drowsy.
>female genius detective
I'd give the entirety of my possessions to see this happening.
Curious-chan and Database-kun
I've read the first two books and the anime is quite faithful, so I don't know what you're talking about.
If you ask me, it's because anons can't really into Japan and nuances.
To some degree, Japan is still feudal, pedigree matters. Being like Eru, born into a powerful local family, can determine one's life, especially for a girl. It is a given her parents will be looking to arrange a suitable marriage... in that last ep, she's simply saying "this is me, no matter what I do I can't escape from this". Only westerners are unrefined, and open to the degree of opening like that to a total stranger. The sort of frankness here, of dropping the facade, implies closeness. And is also a sort of a question to Oreki "so will you, or won't you?". Again, it's only westerners who would expect a resounding "YES!"+and-they-fucked. Oreki doesn't say anything because he is fully aware that he must answer through deeds, and it will take him time.
Bittersweet? Come on. That's the most showy "happy ending" in anime, if you take into account the usual "and they were separated and suffered ever after" ending.
I just want to see Oreki and Curious run a farm together ;.;
Indeed. Most anime storyline are pandering to the core urban market, but yet majority of Japan are still closely tied to this old ideas. Hyouka for me was never meant to be a real detective story, but actually an analogy towards both side of Japan, the old and the new, written in the style of Christie and/or Doyle.
tl;dr Hyouka is Honobu's view on Japan
Yasashisa no Riyuu is still one of my all-time favorite OPs, come at me.
You're not the only one. It'd be hot as hell.
>Rewrite by KyoAni
Oh holy shit that would be great. But the question is, which route?
Seek mental therapy
Both of the OPs were bland, boring, and forgettable. The EDs on other hand were great with the first one being ridiculously but tastefully sexualized (ie fantastic) and the second one really fun and cute.
It's one of my favourite shows, but I'd be wary as it doesn't need another series - like K-ON.
When did we get a season 2?
I'd love more, My favorite show but I can't see it happening.
If Hyouka got a sequel this place would be hilarious since people seem to think its "Boring".
>Beauty from two genius models
>Ending up with the two ugliest character in the anime
No, me too.
They'd be perfect together.
She is ugly and he ain't. Sry, not made to be together. You would not date your dog, would you?
Depends on Honobu. Takemoto and Gatou kept 100% to the book, only deviated (some episodes/chapters were swapped) or added only if Honobu agrees. It's unlikely they will go to Chuu2 or KnK's route where they embellish the story as Takemoto and Gatou enjoyed the original novel so much
>she is ugly
Awful taste, just awful.
>She is ugly
Say that to my face and not online and see what happens.
Where u at big boi
ur mums house
Come at me bro.
Never, that show was the worst anime Kyoani has ever made, even worse than Tamako Market, also Mirai a shit
I agree and Kyoani are my favourite studio. Tomako Market had its moments though.
Getting fuckd by my dad, huh?
At first I read
>I'm curious, what's /a/'s reaction to the announcement of season 3?
And then I realized it's actually
>I'm curious, what would /a/'s reaction to an announcement of season 3?
You're a bad man for getting my hopes up.
Now I'm feeling a feel. A very sad feel.
NTR starring your dad
>Never, that show was the worst anime Kyoani has ever made
That's not Hyouka.
Why would anyone want a farmer's daughter?
I'm still mad.
I don't understand why you would buy miniature dildos for a stand like that
It'll be like screwing with your sister
Cool subjective opinion
OP1 was superior. But ED2 was better than ED 1 and both of the OPs.
I never seem to be able to look at these pics without feeling depressed and somewhat empty inside.
Actually, it might be almost anything hyouka related, and I don't know why
I have yet to watch Hyouka, but for about a year I thought the main girl's name was "Hyouka"
You need something to fill that emptiness.
Here, have a Chitanda.
But she's not real and would never be
You're wrong, her name is Kininarimasu.
>you will never be as kininarmasu as kininarimasu-san
The anime broadcast
From Oreki meeting Eru to Oreki realising that she's more than a friend to him
How long the novel took to narrate that 1 year
>her name is Kininarimasu.
>'I've got a great idea for a new story, but it's too soon yet'
Oreki solves 9/11?
That's not chuu2.
I think that's a good description of it.
>. It's unlikely they will go to Chuu2 or KnK's route where they embellish the story
Well that's from their own LN's right? I guess they'd be a little looser with them.
>Takotsuboya's Hyouka god tier doujin still not translated
Hurts to live, /a/.
gibe title name pls
Hikari no Ame
kawaii as fuck
pls dump it and I might be bothered to translate the easy part
> page 52
>all these moons
Everything that happens just makes no sense. All I know is that Satoshi is gay as fuck, though.
That made an very dark turn.
>you will never be kininarimasued
I'm finally planning on watching this shit. Which fansub should I use for this?
I just got the coalgirls one off of bakabt. Was fine.
I have yet to find a Hyouka doujin that doesn't start with Chitanda being curious. I don't think they exist.
I used the Jacobswaggedup release
I think I'll go with coalgirls.
I don't think a story line begins without her being curious either.
OP I would kinninarimasu so hard you could stick me on Asahi Beer Hall and call me golden turd.
>that second half
Wait what the fuck is going on?
Why does he wear so much to bed?
Nah. I'd his sister though.
I don't think anyone here wouldn't.
What is this...feeling...
I'm curious, bi that is.
Thats clearly a girl anon.
Yeah but so am I.
Oh sorry, for a second there i forgot we were on /a/
Also when the bride of a a higher social standing, especially if the bride's family has no male heir, the groom is expected to take the bride's name. Chitanda is really asking him to marry her family and not just herself.
When Kininarimasu goes a bit overboard
>Oreki able to marry into noblu family
>When is a lazy fuck
>Has to become rich as fuck
>Therefore has to change
Whipped as fuck.
He could just say no and become Hikikomori masterrace, but it's an open ending.
This is what nightmares are made of
Has there ever been a doujin of mini-chitangels sexually harassing every inch and orifice of a drugged or tied down Oreki?
OP 1 is better for Chochou and OP 2 is better visually.
Is Chitanda's and Oreki's mailman a white gaijin?
I wish KyoAni would do Key adaptations again. LB was fucking terrible.
this show would be so great
I always thought the ending as more of a sign of things to come. The show wasn't big on spoonfeeding the audience so I expect romance between Chitanda and Oreki to develop gradually.
Anyone know what happens in the unadapted novel(s)?
At least no one watched it
Oreki NTRs Chitanda for his childhood friend
She's so small and tiny
