When did you start watching anime /a/? I started watching it back in 1979 with the Devilman TV series. But the first real anime I watched was Gurren Lagann. Haven't seen anything good since.
You've already reached the top of the mountain. Go outside and enjoy the sunshine.
Dragonball and Sailormoon. Though actual real VIOLANT CARTOONS were on Sci-Fi with Armitage III, Robot Carnival, Green Legend Ran, Project A-ko, Fatal Fury, Robot Hunter Casshun, Iria Zeiram, and others.
It's all downhill from here, buddy. Follow >>10014358's advice.
on TV - Voltes V
on betamax - Urotsukidoji
on VHS - Fatal Fury
Oh fuck, I remember renting Fatal Fury on VHS and wearing that fucker of a tape out.
Honestly I stopped for a while and started to get into Kaiji. Akagi is so badass in that show its fucking nuts.
Urusei Yatsura. I rented it at a video store because there was a funny old cartoon man on the box.
Though I didn't really 'get' into anime until a few years after that when my friend turned me weeaboo.
1995, Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z
I was a wee chap in the mid 80s watching doraemon and such, by 1990-ish I was reading dragon ball
Clever... I wonder if anybody else noticed.
Just out of curiosity, has anyone else ever watched Demon Lord Dante?
seven or so it was captain tsubasa
oh it was probably around 1995

1996: Old School Toonami, with Robotech, Sailormoon, and Tenchi Muyo.
1997/8, G-Force, Pokemon. I think the turning point was when I saw evangelion, 2002, I was 14/8th grade, same as the characters.
I started early 90's with Akira and project A-ko and some mecha show I can't even remember. Stopped at 2000 when I had to travel out of country, started again when I came back in 2006.
VOLTRON and motherfucking SPACE SHIP YAMAMOTO.
