What did you think of Sekai Seifuku /a/?
It was shit.
Boring, but it might get better
Tentatively declaring it Anime of the Season.
Could be fun
It was alright.
Solid first ep, had almost everything I wanted/expected it to be. Easy 8/10, maybe even 9, but the next couple of episodes are a total mystery since this show is kind of blazing a new path here.. it's fanservicey/dainty and cute to the very core, but also a cartoony supervillain POV show that is literally about taking over the world.
It had a great start. Let's hope it gets even better.
It'll be fun.
Will the show keep a moderately lighthearted tone or will shit get dark as fuck and fast?
I thought it would be great, but ended up dropping it about five minutes in.
Pretty meh, will probably result in some interesting doujins though.
I hope it keeps the moderately lighthearted tone.
It'll start out lighthearted but will get heavier in the last couple eps. I almost don't even see how it could not be that path, actually.
It's shown in the start that apparently they indeed won eventually, but by that time the dude there (could be old Asuta) might be the last of them, and they got wiped out/fell from power some time after reaching their goal of world conquest. Seems pretty serious to me, but maybe we'll never actually see things get that far, more like we got a hint of the epilogue.
It will try to be both and fail miserably.
Will watch and hope I'm wrong.
I want them to fuck.
It was great.
Not great, not bad.
Like the character designs enough to keep me around longer.
I think it was a good start. It kept me interested the whole time.
Episode of the season. And I was really skeptical about this show. I mean, just look at official art and plot synopsis. It's sounds like fanservice ridden trash.
This season is going to be great.
It was a small introduction to the cast. It was a small introduction to the world and story.
For what was shown, it's a good series. It just needs to keep it up and NOT become a shitty copy of Guilty Crown, which it has the vibe from the earliest episodes. Asuta better not become some edgy guy, Kate better not end up just being a moeblob with fancy words, and so on. The characters we've run into in the first episode should live up to how they are introduced.
Except Yasu. I hope he ends up becoming a fucking badass.
There were a lot of similarities with this and Gatchaman Crowds, which isn't a bad thing in my book.
Is already great.
Which means Cthuko will never finish it.
I think the little girl is a punk ass bitch and so far she's stupid as hell.
Even if it turns out the (obviously evil) government is 100% the bad guys and her "domination" is her trying to save the world and make everyone friends I'm still going to call her a punk ass bitch.
Honestly it's like I walked halfway into one side of a long running series so these characters are more stupid than endearing.[/spoiler[
The question is will it go anywhere or fall flat like Gatchaman.
Good enough shonen to make me insta-drop Nobunagun. Also a testament that if you add loli to anything, it instantly becomes good
Each character's back story of why they don't fit in society will be extrapolated on through the bulk of the show, and how they came to meet Kate and swear to aid her in her quest. Their goal is to remake the social order into one where everyone can fit in equally by conquering it. Gradually Kate and the team will realize how lofty the goal is and will find no matter how good their intentions are, they cannot force their will on the world without it being destroyed in the process. MC will be the one to show that to them when people he cares about fall into jeopardy as a result of Zvezda's operations. Ending will either be a bittersweet parting where Zvezda mysteriously disappears leaving MC behind or one where everyone heals and finds their place in the current regime of society, perhaps even with Kate living with MC as a little sister or something.
>Preferring this to Nobunagun
It's pretty and looks alright so far but I really don't think they'll be able to keep it up. If MC gets any kind of hint of romantic anything directed toward him I will probably shit myself out of anger and hate.
I had the same thought. Flipped through everything out so far this season, this and Chuuni shit were the only things that stood out for me.
Anime Originals usually end up being the better show...at least 60% of the time.
Brilliant. Now waiting for Umetsu's masterpiece.
So you didn't watch it?
I don't think the kind of conquest they are hoping to achieve will put them in power. True communism after all is basically a kind of anarchy.
Is this 2 cours?
>Ending will either be a bittersweet parting where Zvezda mysteriously disappears leaving MC behind or one where everyone heals and finds their place in the current regime of society, perhaps even with Kate living with MC as a little sister or something.
Did you not see the fucking statue
Then explain the fuck off huge statue of Venera/Kate in the timeskip.
How are voluntary groups any different than government.
Government just assumes all the people of a state are willing to "do x for y" which is no different from being in a voluntary group.
It's not the first time a story has started with a false ending in media res.
I think his story would be pretty cool.
You can have a statue without being in charge.
No force ( I would assume ).
I'm trying not to get too hyped up. I keep remembering that I found the first episode of Galilei Donna to be really fun and thought that had great potential as well.
But the first episode of this was really damn fun.
It was pretty fun
>you will never ever be under the command of a loli empress
why even live
reminds me of how Hibiki "died" as of episode 1 of Symphogear but we know how that turned out.
Think about it. What was Guilty Crown? A villainous faction and a hero faction with minor magic at play. Remember how it went to shit when everyone was magic?
Loli Conquest has a similar premise, but from the opposing view. We're watching the villains and mainly focusing on their efforts with the heroes being kicked to the curb. There's magic at play here too, as seen in those odd ball things and Venera's fisting of her doll.
Vague yet similar, and hoping they don't match up in the end.
I can't choose not to participate in my local, state, or federal government. If I don't follow their rules, pay them, and toe the line, they will exclude, fine, or imprison me.
The timeskip reminded me of Valvrave.
I really hope the timeskip stuff isn't resolved in a way similar to Valvrave.
OST of the season
he's not far off, the first episodes start with the same premise.
A third party "normal highschool student" is suddenly taken into a rebel group who fights against the new world order. Asuta and Shoe are taken in by Venera/Inori to fight against GHQ/Whateverthebadguysarecalled. Although the thing is that Sekai Seifuku hasn't done any world building yet so we don't know what is going on.
I really liked that eerie theme playing throughout the last scene.
I'm being cautiously optimistic since this isn't written by a hack unlike Galilei Donna and Guilty Crown.
Okay, but I still can't begin to compare them - Guilty Crown took itself very seriously from the start, whereas this obviously isn't. The difference is that I won't be disappointed if there are a few points that don't explicitly make sense, as long as I'm having fun, unlike Guilty Crown's clusterfuck of plot holes.
I like Asuta and loli interaction.
>If I don't follow their rules, pay them, and toe the line, they will exclude, fine, or imprison me.
Any anarchistic state would do the same thing. They wouldn't fine or imprison you for refusing to participate in their functions but they would exclude you from group benefits.
Anarchism doesn't work and never will.
and optimism is always good when viewing something that is original. At any point it could turn into AOTS, and it can also do the opposite and become the worst shit ever, topping even Wolverine and Iron Man.
Hell yeah, motherfucker. Reminds me of Evil Con Carne.
Valvrave's timeskip was resolved at all?
OST goes to Nobunagun
Or Galilei Donna.
>You will never eat cake with General Pepel
The MC is cute. Other than that, was good but not great.
It was alright I guess. The characters aren't doing much for me.
You know, I thought the world Seifuku only translated to "Uniform" so I was expecting a Kill la Kill type anime.
I think this show will be a fun ride.
Thankfully we got something watchable instead, then
Do I go with Cthuko or HS for this?
Also, I'm particularly fond of the character designs, more so than anything last season and likely this season too. Hopefully it maintains the benign tone its set and we get some fulfilling characterization.
Love these guys, Yasu, and the blonde girl that was commanding the army, especially.
He's the only character I like.
The rest are literally cringe inducing.
I would be hiding in the corner hoping to not be associated with these retarded looking people.
What the flying fuck is going on: the anime.
I liked it immensely.
I for one, loved their designs.
Personally interested in the overall dynamic of the cast. Seems good so far. Yasu is a favorite of mine and I hope he becomes a major bro.
It was rather flat
They will exclude you from benefits of that group. You're not agreeing with that particular group, you're not contributing anything, you'll get nothing in return. Here, those are groups you may agree and work with instead, you can ask them for benefits.
And you will always be informed, you will understand that "this will do that", "this needs to be done because that", "this will increase that". You can think carefully and decide what you want to do, it's your free choice. No "do this because I said so, and if you don't go starve on the streets" crap.
I find it amusing that she's got permablush when she's just a kid, but her villain costume magically removes her blushing.
I mean, if it was the other way around, I can see it being a deadly attack to all anons with a blushing, scantily clad loli, but still.
So this vs. Nobunagun
I would pick up nobunagun if it's actually good since I dropped wake up girls.
They're both good. Nobunagun is very symphogear-like in my opinion.
We can't say for sure for nobunagun. Ep2 can be complete shit.
What the hell kind of name is Asuta Jimon?
What the hell kind of name is Anonymous?
For me it's this vs the last half of Kill la Kill. I'm watching Nobunagun too, but it isn't a season contender for me.
Ok last question. Nobanagun vs. Nobunaga the fool. I can't choose between the two. I'm just looking for something fun.
Googling his name, separately of course, led me to this.
So, let's look at it like this;
>Asuta is the son of the head of the military faction, but didn't know it
>Father's name is Asuta Sammon
>Father tries to get Jimon to leave Zvezda for his own safety
>armed conflict happens, Dva kills Sammon
>Point of no return has been reached
>Dva becomes an outright cold-hearted bastard
>Ends up with the members of Zvezda putting him down
>That future scene with adult Venera's statue has an engraving that talks of her fallen comrade, and how his unfortunate sacrifice helped shape the resolve of Zvezda
I'm drawing at straws and barely thinking the writing through, but for some reason I really hope this kind of development happens.
The Fool is the worst thing I've tried to watch this season.
Fool for silly mechashit with historical figures. Gun for wacky symphogeah-tier fightan with historical figures.
The hell is wrong with this thread? You're supposed to watch 3 episodes before you decide to drop or keep.
Welp nobunagun it is then.
I'm too busy for a 3 episode rule.
I'm keeping this loli no matter what and there is nothing you can do to stop me.
If your time is worth that much to you, then all the more reason to watch 3 episodes to make sure you're going to keep the best ones.
I'm really looking forward to watching the rest of this. It has honest AOTS potential.
LINCOLN DID NOTHIGN WRONG
Anybody said that Asta is derived from Asteria, greek name meaning "of the stars"?
Late, but the AOTS finally appeared.
Actually Lincoln tons of terrible shit and felt bad about it.
>lincoln's weakness was that he couldn't stop bullets
Was I the only one who laughed like a madman?
I think everyone laughed like a madman at that scene, specially non-murrikans
Who is lincoln?
Looks like it will be amazing.
And here I thought the loli from Mikakunin was the best of the season.
Do you think a joke like that offends us americlaps? Educate yourself man, that shit was funny.
He got shot
I don't see why many people are too worried.
It looks great, it may have things in common with galilei donna and VVV but it's the nuance and detail sets this apart and shows the creators clearly know what they are doing.
I remember Galilei Donna. And I have no Idea I was that of a masochist to endure 11 episodes of that.
I still haven't watched the last two episodes nor do I feel like watching them but my autism won't let me let go.
It would have been better if the whole show was Hozuki having wacky vaguely-incest-toned adventures with Galileo.
I'm still butthurt at that horrendously retarded final episode.
Hedging bets on whether MC's Dad's family business will come into play. I bet it's yakuza or something that could be relevant to world domination.
Venera-sama's snacks and the world? That's a fucking win win scenario right there.
The problem with Galilei is that lacked focus and motivation for the characters. Seifuku is pretty much Evil Genius: the anime so that is fully covered.
And VVV? Nothing of that here, thank god.
It was the worst episode. I wanted to like this show so much, but it's utter garbage.
Waiting to see if I'm stuck with Crunchy or not.
Normally I wouldn't pick it up but the director was so passionate about it in prerelease interviews I'll give it a shot.
Too important to be glossed over, his dad must show up sooner or later. I can't wait.
>come back home you useless brat
>fuck off dad I'm going to help this tiny loli conquer the world
>Evil Genius: the anime
Time to reinstall that fucker.
Back on topic, this looks like a hell of a lot of fun. There needs to be more anime where the bad guys win for once.
Boring and not that fun. It could be much better than this with such crazy plot and character.
The pacing is so fucking slow.
Is there any more information released about this show? Like, character descriptions or something?
I picked it up because it sounded fun
and it's fucking glorious.
Seifuku = SYD = Robot Girls = Seki-kun > *
shit, I haven't read that in ages.
The word is that Galilei Donna was planned to be 2-cour, then animators are forced to limit it to 1-cour.
Thus it sucked.
Grande Rosse was rad as fuck though.
VVV was space vampires and illuminati with "Can bakemonos love humans?"+damn good mech porn.
SS 1st episode was 10/10, and full of promise;I'm hoping they won't ruin it like mentioned shows or GC.
Bouryaku no Zvezda? More like Bouryaku no Pizda, amirite?
Classmate girl was cute. Hopefully they won't force drama if she ever finds out Asuta pledged fealty to an evil loli overlord.
>The word is that Galilei Donna was planned to be 2-cour, then animators are forced to limit it to 1-cour.
That explains the last few episodes. Loli incest was probably going to be most of the second cour with a grand finale, but they shoehorned an ending in one/two episodes.
Sure she will.
As much as I like to think VVV was a trainwreck I can't help but feel that I'll miss those totally wacky episodes, especially L-Elf, I hope they release an OVA or something, that show was pure fun.
I don't understand who is this mysterious person, who claimed MC as her komrad.
Didn't Renge-chan recruited him first?
Mysterious one is evil if she steals others komrads.
>OP as fuck autistic love warrior
Its independent of VVV.You can put ERUERUFUGUAH in any anime, and he will be awesome still while making the animu better.
Explain to this americlap the meaning of these joke, comrad
The MC will never man up will he? That's the only thing that has me worried about this show.
It means cunt.
Best show this season.
Near the end he'll finally stop being a little wimp and realize the enormous power he holds within him.
This season is particularly good with nonsensical first episodes.
The episode was just ok, but the costumes are cool as fuck, so that's why I won't drop it yet.
Are we suppose to take this show seriously?
I have feeling they will touch on philosophical subjects regarding to conquest.
What conquest is she even talking about? She did a "Your ideals a shit" speech and saif that there is only one way out. I expected something like "conquest", as in, conquering everything, thus erasing borders and territorial interests. But she went "WORLD SCREAMS FOR CONQUEST". What?
HS, surprisingly. Cthuko's encode is shit.
Yeah, I didn't get her obsession with the whole conquest fiesta.
Maybe she's an alien or something and decided to descend on the earth to conquest?
Her partner saw Asuta so she already knows.
HS subs are good, encode is also better than Cthuko.
Well, Fool has Sugita Leonardo Da Vinci, so it has that going for it. He's pretty fabulous.
Well she clearly isn't a human.
Kurwa pls go
Kamina also had a great statue. Just saying.
It had the strongest first episode of anything this season, and Kate is cute.
we're gonna have to ask best girl to remove you
Fucking fantastic. It was about damn time for something fun to watch to appear.
The most common word used to describe Nobunagun is "fun".
It aired first. So something fun has already happened.
Oh ok. Gotta check it out then.
I enjoyed it. It was fun to watch.
I love her character design.
The fuck are talking about?
>WW1 german helmet
>tight clothes and mildly exposed hips and waist
truly best girl all around
>mildly exposed hips and waist
Considerably better than I expected, really. It's no Astro Fighter Sunred, but it's got some good stuff going on.
