Going by the episode preview, are they going to be fighting inside King Jikochuu next episode? Because it sure looked like they were inside his body.
Well, I haven't watched Precure yet, but that sure is an image that gets the interest of any anon really easily.
Way to start the thread.
GET HYPE MOTHERFUCKERS!
What the hell would they fight inside him? Jikochu intestines? Knowing Toei, I wouldn't be surprised if it were the Jikochu forms of the Precure though.
It's bait. Like the real kind, not the ruse kind. You don't really get to see much of that, if at all.
I know it is, I just posted here to warn him that he'll get plenty of attention with it.
They probably have to pull BK out of wherever he's stuck before they can actually defeat KJ.
in a platonic way
Thats totally gay.
I hope hacha is hetero as fuck
Wouldn't they just have to purify KJ like the rest? Didn't the King have his heart go full Jikochu in the flashback, or did he just get swallowed up by KJ?
It's the lesbian week here in 4chan.
We haven't seen the Cures purify a Jikochuu containing the body of the victim, as KJ appears to be. They probably don't want to risk it. Also there's that shot in the preview of the petrified King.
Hell yeah fuckers
Hacha is the first Precure I'm gonna watch while it airs, and I'm watching Yes 5 now, so I hope you're wrong.
>Hacha is the first Precure I'm gonna watch while it airs, and I'm watching Yes 5 now, so I hope you're wrong.
Why do you hate the Romance?
Silly anon, that's not the best kind of romance.
Are you of crazy?
It'll be like that episode of the Magic School Bus where they're inside Arnold's stomach.
I'd like it better if the guys were actual humans and not annoying anthropomorphic tiny magic animals from the land of the plushies with ear piercing voices. Also, this:
>Magic School Bus
>they go to Pluto
>Arnold takes off his helmet
>his head flash freezes
Y5 had yuri too, you know
＞Implying OTPs aren't Akamiyu and NaoReika
No anon, you are of crazy.
Fuck man, I remember that episode.
>I'd like it better if the guys were actual humans and not annoying anthropomorphic tiny magic animals from the land of the plushies with ear piercing voices
Think of it this way. Y5, fairies are humans half the time. Other seasons, Fairies are humans 0% of the time.
Pride and Lust were hiding inside KJ the whole time. They literally planned for everything this season.
>I'd like it better if the guys were reverse traps
Then the reveal. Cue the reactions.
That's like those porn doujins in SadPanda where the girls kiss while being fucked by two men each that are tagged yuri.
It's my fetish, but it isn't yuri, and shouldn'tbe tagged as such.
>That's like those porn doujins in SadPanda where the girls kiss while being fucked by two men each that are tagged yuri.
It's my fetish, but it isn't yuri, and shouldn'tbe tagged as such.
Use your imagination.
>They literally planned for everything this season.
So Rosetta Balloon will take them out?
Dunno, I was expecting great things from them once Milk became human, but I'm past the middle of GoGo and they have had like 2 scenes together at most...
Well, sure, but still everytime Coco or Natsu transform back into mascots I wanna choke them to death anyway.
That'd be nice indeed.
Rosetta Balloon is how they get out of KJ. You can't expect them to climb out.
So how did the episode go? Are the three dead? Did Ira fuck Rikka?
>Regina is sitting there crying about her dead papa
>Burger King was inside the balloon the entire time
>Implying Mana isn't going to fly them all out.
Side characters were there, including those that you mentioned. The episode was about Mana and Regina though.
>Dunno, I was expecting great things from them once Milk became human, but I'm past the middle of GoGo and they have had like 2 scenes together at most...
That's because soccer moms got pissed after Y5 so they toned down all the Romance. Notice how Komachi disappeared off the face of the earth?
It's as close to canon yuri as you'll get in a Precure series, though.
Its either that or MPC-HC's horrendous JPG compression
No, I mean I don't see how the "yuri" in Y5 is any less legitimate than the "yuri" in Smile or whatnot.
>ANOTHER Mana/Regina episode
Guess we know who wins.
Why not give Rikka, MakoP, Aguri and Alice some chances, Toei? Hell, Rikka is First Girl.
Does childhood friend ever win?
It's always the tsundere.
>they toned down all the Romance
And yet, the dudes kept appearing.
It is legitimate, but comparatively insignificant, screentime-wise, to the girls lusting after the dudes.
>childhood friend winning
Happens more often than not in yuri. This is an example.
I just use printscreen + photoshop. I can either to screencaps or fun pictures.
Fuck you too, Wally. I swear on me mum innit.
Buki, ya goofed, ya die!
>And yet, the dudes kept appearing.
Is having male characters such a bad thing now? I didn't mind the hetero, though I'd prefer having some more Milk and Kurumi. If anything, the hetero romance was nice. It was unique for a precure series, and helped flesh out the characters, as well as bring actual male MCs into the fray. They could touch on so many more issues that way, either by having girls deal with man issues or having the men insert their opinions on girl issues.
What do guys think Nagisa, Honoka and Hikari do nowadays?
Well, it's been ten years and they apparently haven't aged a day. What do you think?
Milk and Karen, my bad.
Komachi is still there, she just glances at Nuts instead of going after his Nuts. Also, there's still the whole Syrup and Urara thing, so...
>Also, there's still the whole Syrup and Urara thing
That was pretty lewd, but you have to admit they eschew the romance in favor of lighthearted antics and such.
It's not a bad thing, we got Detective Komachi out of it, but it is a change from Y5
Fuck off regina
Who the fuck cares about the balloon? It's a fucking pointless shit attack to stall for the finisher, like Ace's mirror thing and I sure as hell don't see people wanting more of that. I guess there's a mystery about what's in the balloon but the moment it's out- the magic's gone and disappointment awaits.
It's definitely toned down, but it's still there. I for one prefer that to extreme denseness like back in Max Heart.
That's the joke
I couldn't do that, I take too many screenshots.
I upgraded your Regina.
Nagisa teaches gym.
Honoka runs the school.
Hikari still has no personality or distinctive traits.
They're kids. Kids never turn out in the obvious ways.
Nagisa's a soft-spoken housewife.
Honoka's an aggressive lawyer/politician/businessman or a mad scientist.
Hikari is a Navy Seal.
She is cure for our hearts.
Maybe someday Toei will stop being assholes and make kind of sequel movies to old shows?
>maybe someday Toei will do something good
I wish I could have optimism too.
Looks like Mana's already getting her claws into Megumi. Not content to keep her harem in one show, I guess.
Luckily Rikka's here to keep Megumi in her place.
Hey, New Stage 3 is gonna be the last NS movie, so MAYBE the next crossover saga could feature old and new shows interacting together so we can get awesome things like Waon as a Cure or Michiro and Kaoru acknowledged... Yes, I know it's most probably not going to happen, but it's better to get punctually disappointed than dooming yourself to the worst scenario from the beginning.
Au contraire, mon fleur. It's better to expect complete shit and be pleasantly surprised when things turn out good.
Please refrain from undue hostility.
Too bad that fanbase has been tsundere for tomboy cures for years.
Go fuck yourself.
Maybe for things that are happening soon, like HaCha. But for things we know nothing about I say being optimistic is the best course of action.
They're all so happy about it
Somehow I wan't to unsee this
>Not closing it the moment you realized what was going on.
You can only blame yourselves. Well, and that anon for posting it.
I closed it the moment 'hog appeared on the screen and my eyes still bleed
This is me not opening that link.
I-Is it bad that I found this kind of impressive? Every time I see a MAD or something like this where people put actual effort into making it I always want to root for them, even if it bothers the hell out of me that it exists.
Yes, yes it is. I know what you're getting at, but that effort could had been used to do something less nightmare inducing, so if anything it pisses me off even more.
Is there a decent batch for Suite anywhere? BakaBT has a 30GB Coalgirls BD mux and I'm not sure I want to waste an extra 10GB for their inability to optimize for shit.
Doremi in Nyaatorrents. 24 Gb or so.
We're gonna have to get another yellow to be our timekeeper, Buki is always off by a minute nowadays.
From the brief sight I gathered that it is meant to be Suite "crossover", but it's rage inducting more than anything.
>Is having male characters such a bad thing now?
Useless screentime hogs for the most part.
>Useless screentime hogs for the most part.
I love fucking Rikka so much.
And all of you as well!
Mana clearly wants to fuck Regina more.
That cheating lolicon.
Can't blame her for that. Rikka is irresistible.
MPC screencap as PNG. Use Photoshop to create an action that batch saves them as max quality JPG.
Nice thanks for the expert tip.
It's not cheating if you are the Prime Manaster.
Why is she so lewd?
Am I the only one who thinks that we're going to have all DokiDoki and Regina calling to the King with DokiDoki version of Sekiha Love-Love Tenkyoken after because of the way King is shown kinda like Rain in the promo and, y'know, "inside the Jikochuu" thing. Also, Shuffle Alliance, card theme... It kinda fits.
I'm all for hand holding and decorations of love summoning the Burgerking to create a heart shaped hole in your enemy
>Introducing your boyfriend to your dad
Latest Doki felt gayer than Sakura Trick.
Will Hacha be grimderp as hell?
Holy shit Alice has a mom?
Miyuki and Hibiki's mom's are voluptuous stripper tier
You haven't even seen the gay yet.
Miyuki's mom is by far the hottest.
>谷崎まんじ @haimanji 9m
Hate to say it, but the HaChas suffer from a severe case of sameface. Only Megumi's eyes are a little more upwards.
Does mana charge your happiness?
I hate Mana sorry.
It must suck to be a huge faggot
I want to stroke her ears
i thought akane had brian
RGB > FFAAAG
Mana is the worst Pink in the franchise.
This is not how you use a hula hoop. Get this interpretive dance shit out of here. This is why I hate hippies.
But that's not Miyuki.
Worst pink in the worst series
Background-kun is feeling pretty euphoric.
will be there LollipopHiphop subs this week?
Unedited TL here -> http://pastebin.com/CAqp3eTH
Monologues everywhere! Yuri fans rejoice!
>2 more episodes left
I really like how the bad guy got mindscrewed by the Cures rather than the other way around this time around. It was glorious.
Why do your videos look like ass?
Rikka and Ira are a cute couple and I wish more was done with them.
that was enough irafag
>rikka x what'shisname shipping
straight up delusional
>Yuri fans rejoice!
I watch Doki for the het undertones.
I miss Honoka
What if Mana connect Ira?
It's not exactly shipping, I just like cute images with Rikka.
But that wasn't him. That was me.
And I, meanwhile, will ship every which way to my heart's content.
I expected them to talk KJ to death, and they killtalked everyone else too. At least Doki sticks to its guns from the beginning till the end.
shippers: worst of people
I watch Doki for Makopi
I'm so sorry
Watching Makopi makes my heart doki
Cute girls exist to love and to be loved. Without love there's only emptiness and everyone's unhappy.
I think we can work together to love one another, anon.
>I think we can work together to love one another, anon.
I would like you but I'm afraid that you don't meet some requirments for love you've stated.
What would be the one thing that would make you drop Precure altogether? The franchise, not just the season.
Outright bara sex. My tastes are pretty wide.
You underestimate my tolerance. I'm in it for life, yo.
I want to say if it went full CG I'd drop it but I'm not so sure.
This. I fully intend to watch precure even after I've fallen from the way and become a filthy normalfag.
>Outright bara sex
That would make me love Precure even more
That would do it for me for sure. I'm not even giving Ladybug a chance now. Preemptively dropped.
When they decide to cancel it
if it went full idols
They take out the barehand combat.
They stop making it for little girls and turn it into pure otaku pandering.
In a personal note, if I were to drop anime altogether.
You never know what insanity could occur 50 years from now.
I would rather have consensual sex with tentacle fairies.
If I enjoyed Arpeggio anime, I can accept CG Precure
If these threads went to shit as hard as other /a/ generals I don't know if I'd be able to keep up the motivation. I have nobody else to discuss it with unless it comes up in SHT threads on /m/.
Honoka, what kind of lewd things are going through your mind?
Yeah, but Precure CG would look the EDs, not a Pixar rip-off for frog legs.
Guys, guuuuys. Chill. There will be a hand-drawn one too, I'm pretty sure.
The CG will be the films.
So like VividOp?
I don't know.
>a precure where all of them get boyfriends
I only got into Precure because the girl I was crushing on liked it and I wanted something to talk to her about. We're dating now so I think it worked.
I'm probably in the minority here, but if they did Precure CG like they are doing for Saint Seiya, I'd watch it. http://saintseiya2014.com/character.html
The CG they use for the ED is just a direct 2D translation, but if they redesigned the characters for 3D first, then it would look interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDKPJ18aDFY
>>a precure where all of them get multiple boyfriends
It looks nice in the EDs, I'd like to see a CG precure.
Japanese governemnt will have to work birthrates somehow out in future. Why not beginning with little girl indoctrination?
>Precures has to "load" their powers with their BF before they can fight King Lowbirthrates and his asexual generals
I wouldn't say no unless they were as bad as, say, Fuji-P.
Rainbow Live looks almost/even better. Current tech is pretty good assuming the necessary money is spent.
Fuck off, normie. Good luck.
Name your boy Brian and your girl Alice.
>So like VividOp?
Pretty sure I was the only person that liked VRO. Campy fanservice magical girl show? Yes please It was fun.
Just don't turn Precure into that. Once is enough.
Love Lab with powers
That fucking dense motherfucker, I swear to god...
That lighting work for a whole series? That would look like a SHAFT series.
And together with motion capture and the thousand necessary tweaks, a single episode would be more exrpensive than a whole cour.
Either that or it'd look like the awful shit in DX2.
We mux into Leopard-Raws. Feel free to use any raw you want.
>assuming the necessary money is spent
But this is Toei we're talking about. The EDs look nice and I doubt a full series would look as bad as say, the goofy cheap CG they use in toku shows, but I'm not sure they'd be able to maintain a consistent level of quality with full CG. They can barely do it with 2D.
Good episode. A little too Mana wanking in some parts but really at this point it's pretty much to be expected.
Also, Alice's Mom is hot.
Precure could use more superpowered punches, though.
Maybe there will be some decent generator for this stuff in the future.
If it takes six months to get an ED done, and years for a single CG movie, they just wouldn't have the time to make it.
(As final attacks, I mean. Turning the Cure into the beam, so to speak.)
Man, why are /a/ GIFs the best on the site or on amateur sites in general? Most others loop horrible or have abysmal quality and compression.
> Campy fanservice magical girl show? Yes please It was fun.
Not my kind of camp on any count. The MC was so one-track it made the Smiles seem like world-literature-depth characters.
>Just don't turn Precure into that. Once is enough.
Doesn't she look a bit adult Ichigo sans bow?
>I'm not sure they'd be able to maintain a consistent level of quality with full CG.
At this point it should be possible to basically use the MMD method and make the models move as required with a few simple commands.
Maybe I am mistaken...
REMEMBER THE PROMISE AT THE START OF THE SEASON? About the fights?
>That would look like a SHAFT series.
I want this. Whether it's one of the ex-SHAFT that have been making DEEN shows watchable for the past few years, someone who studied under Ikuhara, or god willing Ikuhara himself, a full-on theatrical shoujo Precure would be fantastic.
Because 4chan's filesize limit is 3MB and tumblr's is 1MB, and most gifs that don't come from here come from tumblr because there's no other real big image-focused sites.
>Rainbow Live looks almost/even better. Current tech is pretty good assuming the necessary money is spent.
Does it? I haven't gotten very far with it, but I don't think it looks that good. Precure and the current Aikatsu CG seem very much to be trying to mimic the style of the show, while PRRL is deliberately different. They definitely have the motion down, but the look of it isn't good.
Doki Doki technically had NTR. Twice if you count this episode.
Does stealing a man's daughters away from him count as NTR?
From what I've gathered about people complaining about "reddit filenames", Redditors use imgur too, which is only 2MB as well.
And the 3MB file size only applies to the non-/gif/ boards. I've seen 3MB+ on /wsg/, though I don't know the cap.
> make the models move as required with a few simple commands.
That's the issue, even with MMD. There's no such thing as "a few simple commands" when it comes to natural and fluid movement for 3D models; even with motion capture, you have to deal with ensuring fluid transitions between recorded movements (though that does tend to be more automated these days).
There's a Korean article saying the 2D trailer was just testing the waters. (There's a translation of it on Tumblr.) As a result, the series is going to be full CG.
It looks really nice, so
Family members do count as NTR. I personally think you shouldn't be so butthurt about it though.
I'm far from butthurt. Anything that makes Regina happy makes me happy.
> The MC was so one-track it made the Smiles seem like world-literature-depth characters.
I don't think Akane was any worse than Miyuki.
Reginya a best.
I wish the filesize limit on /a/ was larger.
Just 5MB would be enough.
For some reason, I read "Reginya" in Hummy's voice.
Thanks to you, now I´m doing it too.
It's not the same without the singing.
Baka Wakaba was best vivid.
I liked Himawari the most. Because of her intelligence and using shield bits.
I don't even remember their names I just remember erections.
I'm disappointed, they were even mnemonic by color (and they were numbered!).
Akane Isshiki (一色) -> aka = red, 一 = 1
Aoi Futaba (二葉) -> aoi = blue, 二 = 2
Wakaba Saegusa (三枝) -> wakaba = "young leaf" and young leaves are green, 三 = 3
Himawari Shinomiya (四宮) -> himawari = sunflower and sunflowers are yellow, 四 = 4
The scheme was switched around for Rei, but it was still there.
Rei Kuroki -> kuro = black, rei = 0
All this vividbutts has made me remember twintails is confirmed, as well as symphogeah S3
A worst. Ugly ponytailed green tomboy.
Don't forget new Strike Witches OVA and TV anime this year (or possibly next).
I wonder what studio will be doing the Twintails anime, though, and who will be voicing the characters. Wouldn't mind Katou Tatsuya doing the music like he did for Kampfer, which had a similar premise.
I can't help having a bad memory.
>twintails is confirmed
Well fuck you too. I bet you hate Nao too.
I think you need to leave.
Strike witched never really appealed to me. Dunno why.
Probably because I watch magical girl shows for the action and the character development.
"Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu"
It's about a guy who has a twintails fetish and becomes a twintailed mecha musume because a lewd alien has a thing for cute girls.
So what if Inoue wrote for a season Precure?
I can say it would be interesting no?
Yes. My interest has been peaked.
What if Mari Okada wrote a Precure season?
Needs more Mecha on that Musume. Just about Busou Shinki level would be great. Trust me Japan, if I were in it for the swim suits I'd watch Photo Kano.
Shit this premise is like an /a/ or /tg/ CYOA.
The cast can be kind of straining on one's nerves at times too. I like the idea but they never really went anywhere too interesting with it.
>I don't think Akane was any worse than Miyuki.
No, Miyuki was a little bit more... I was just about to say deep, but the phrase I really looked for was "more of a character".
Aww curses. Well, I could probably dig it but I'm leery with this kind of 3D art style.
Sigh. It's never easy, eh?
>as well as symphogeah S3
AND TO /THINK/ THEY LAUGHED ME OUT OF THE FACULTY WHEN I PREDICTED THIS! THE FOOOOOOOLS! AAA-HAHAHAHAHA.
It's because they focus on the most boring team.
The books are much better.
And they really need to get the tank girls in there.
Is Symphogear any good?
It's 100% Camp & K-POP.
Pretty good fun and one of the few series I think handle Yuri really well.
It's also a bit haremish, as I remember. From left to right:
> tsundere childhood friend
> lesbian lolicon pervert
> Student council president
> I forget
> antagonistic idol
First season was fun. I lost interest in the second season though.
Whichever studio does it does need to be good at action scenes, though.
> losing interest in G
I know what you mean.
S1 is like a B movie, S2 is like an A movie trying to emulate a B movie.
It's not as fun.
I was watching other stuff that season, and the new characters were retarded. Though I just watched two episodes or so.
Photo Kano's game is pretty neat.
I'm already watching DokiDoki that's enough harem for now. The premise is weird but I might watch it if the reactions are good.
Same here, but I don't think there was any real reason for it. I just kinda lost interest in it. First season was lots of fun though.
The budget for s2 was apparently the same as for s1, actually. They just used it more wisely.
It's alright to be wrong, but not THIS wrong!
Dropped that so hard when the MC made his decission.
>and the new characters were retarded. Though I just watched two episodes or so.
Yup. That's them all the way through. 100% retardation, dumb-ass drama and bad decisions all day erryday.
>Photo Kano's game is pretty neat.
Does it look like the anime, or are we facing an Aikatsu! situation here?
Yuri harem, huh...
So hard that it removed the second half of my sentence from existence.
Is this the precure thread or some kind of anime general?
I didn't watch more than a few episodes of the anime but the game itself emulated or the Vita version is very pretty.
We are still discussing magical grills, as far as I can tell.
This isn't the magical girl general
This is the closest thing we have.
And? Sometimes threads get derailed like that.
Nobody gives a damn and neither should you.
Why is DokiDoki so hard to watch? I'm having to alternate it with Fourze and its still a drag. I never felt this when watching the others.
Too bad, you missed the following episodes where he chose all the other main girls as well. Including his sister.
Because rather than simply being amusingly mediocre like most other Precure shows, Doki's bad parts are tedious and feel like they drag on for ages.
Because you're not good at analyzing your own tastes?
It's better once a week, imo.
I'm trying to catch up with doki before the finale, but its so hard.
Fuck, I wanna watch fresh again.
Only season I would argue that is for Smile.
I love DokiDoki but really there's no point forcing yourself to watch something you don't like. Just drop it.
Nah, the choice was between going for the perv club that disgusted him and only worked on one kind of photo and joining the respected club with a lack of members that could better fulfill what he wanted to do, according to his own thoughts.
Of course, despite his own preferences he chose the perv club because this is late night anime afterall.
Just skip all the fillers (most of the second half) except those that sound interesting enough.
Smile is so lightweight that it can go down easy in binge.
Oh, that decision. It actually worked out better in the long run, because he was able to keep the others from going too far with their photos.
I personally felt like I was trudging through thick sludge. Not even MH or Suite felt that slow.
Ah, yes. That bullshit.
I fucking hated the faggots from the perv club so much.
It didn't help that instead of being bros, they literally just preyed on the girl MC was trying to date, taking lewd shots of them.
Thankfully MC wasn't a beta and always managed to make them step off.
If it makes you feel any better in the actual game you do get to join the other club. Of course you won't do that because delicious Yamada.
I was expecting Smile to be harder to marathon but it's pretty fun to watch even in bigger doses.
If I had to say Max Heart was the hardest to marathon but I enjoyed that too.
That's because you're expecting the plot to move.
Its more that Mana just isn't that interesting of a character to me. She's got the whole knpk thing going on, and there's no goal for her.
I don't want to learn about ms. knpk, I want to learn about the flawed characters, the ones with the potential for growth.
Someone like MakoP. Yes, I'm going to be disappointed.
I assume you haven't reached the 20s yet.
>Yes, I'm going to be disappointed.
Oh, you have no idea.
Just use >>100110981 if you're in a hurry.
I already knew it was episodic as fuck and it wasn't an issue with Yes 5. It's just that so many of the early episodes were simply so boring. I dropped it for about 4 months after Rainbow Healing.
>Yes, I'm going to be disappointed.
Better make amends with it as soon as you can.
Again, if you don't like it then just drop it. Let me tell you in advance, this is pretty much the Mana show so if you don't like her or want focus on other characters you are just going to hate it.
I like Mana but the later half of the show is so Mana-centric that in a way it feels a little obnoxious. I don't think there was an episode in the latest 6 or 7 episodes where they didn't show or have a character say they like Mana at least once.
Surely LolipopHiphop will deliver.
Doremi seems like it will arrive sooner. Lolipop hasn't showed up here since the episode at all.
I suppose I'll wait and see.
Maybe he was an Irafag and killed himself?
Who are they exactly? It seems as if I missed a lot.
Yeah. LollipopHiphop's subs are low-quality speedsubs. There's no reason for him to bother if it's not right away.
Tripfriend that quicksubbed the last couple of episodes as it was airing. Not sure of the quality since my autism deems that I can only download one group or else it'll upset the natural order.
Just some guy, started calling himself LollipopHiphop and posting in the threads.
Subbed an episode maybe two really quickly but kinda shitily.
Cool guy regardless.
A tripfag aspiring to be a translator. He speedsubbed a couple dokidoki episodes. They weren't horrendous, given that he only took about an hour. I think he intends to do HaCha too.
I feel with you. I am quite upset that Commie fell so far behind. It's not RIGHT to not have a full set of episodes from both groups. It ain't right at all.
Hmm. Bad how?
Not really terrible or anything. About what you would expect from speedsubs. Just somewhat awkward English, occasional verb tense disagreements, stuff like that. No blatant mistranslations.
The quality improved from 45 to 46. Was looking forward to seeing how well this episode would turn out. Oh well.
> archiving doki
Yeah, the only bad part was the akward English.
It improved from the many corrections anons made when he posted the scripts.
>waiting for Commie
>waiting for Curecom
>waiting for Doki
>even using Doki
I'm at 16
>midway through the Royal Crystal arc
>still not enjoying it
Imo, that was probably the best stretch of episodes in Doki. If you're not enjoying it now, I doubt it'll get better unless Ace really clicks with you.
> archiving dokidoki
>not archiving every precure
The royal Crystal Arc hasn't really kicked in yet. That's just after the episode right after Regina appears as a villain.
It's not that Mana doesn't have a goal, it's that her goal is a bit more ambitious than other cures. At some point she states (I don't consider it a spoiler but in case you do: that she wants to become the Prime Minister. Whereas other Student Council President cures were focused on improving their performance at their current duty, Mana is more or less just gaining experience for something way further in the future.
It's not just Mana that is more ambitious either. Rikka wants to be a Doctor, which requires a relatively absurd amount of work, and Alice is already set up to be a CEO at a very young age. And Makoto's ambitious include saving a princess, and her means are becoming a massively popular idol, something many girls would have as their end goal. We have the most ambitious team in cure history.
I'm not saying this necessarily makes the show more interesting to everyone, but to me it's very refreshing.
I think Dokidoki is one of those seasons that'll watch better marathoned rather than weekly.
Who was your fave in Smile?
And why not, friend Anon?
Would be great if he really did continue with doing HapCha then.
Does it hurt to smile, Makopi?
I disagree with this. The higher-than-usual degree of plot has made week-by-week watching very fun, because of speculation and expectations. Although we figured everything out over twenty episodes ago, but still.
Makopi has a piece of lego stuck in her boot.
She's had a rough life.
Why is Rikka's mom so incredibly sexy?
Doki Doki is my favorite season, and with the last episode, has my second favorite finale arc. I doubt it can outdo Splash Star, but the wait for the final two episodes will be aggravating.
>Although we figured everything out over twenty episodes ago, but still.
We're smarter than the average little girl.
Whilst I've enjoyed the large amount of plot focus, they really didn't have enough to fill a year-long series. And the filler wasn't really up to snuff.
I dunno about that. Little girls can be pretty smart. Never forget that little girl who had the same reaction to Ace as the majority here.
I think that kaioken arc when Ace was first introduced was dreadful watching week to week. It got slightly better after that, but the plot-of-the-week wasn't enjoyable for me until Regina woke herself and the plot up from their comas.
The beginning and end though are definitely enjoyable to watch weekly though. I miss all that speculah from when the season started.
>the final arc is literally cocksucking mana even more
Why is the characterization in DokiDoki so poorly conceived and braindead?
I don't remember a Precure season that actually fills the year with plot.
It had enough for me. I mean, it's a magical girl show - I only ever expect Smile levels of plot, and anything beyond that is a nice bonus.
Jonathan can be pretty okay when he's not being a creepy onii-san.
>And the filler wasn't really up to snuff.
It kind of feels like Doki was sometimes written a week before the episode aired during those times...
Just because someone has the same option as you doesn't make them sm-- wait. Where do I think I am, heh.
Apologies for Miyuki.
Nah, we were still pretty uncertain on whether KJ was actually Regina's dad, and no one thought that Ai, Regina, and Aguri were ALL Ange at the same time.
Yayoi in smile
That poor girl was just shocked. After the "kore dare" video, there are many more in which she has come to like Ace, second only to Heart. If that represented the average anon here, we'd be a lot more peaceful.
But... we ARE little girls!
I've been getting splash star vibes from the ending arc too.
I still disagree that the filler wasn't up to snuff
>Fairy episodes that are actually good and not annoying
>All of Alice's episodes
>and no one thought that Ai, Regina, and Aguri were ALL Ange at the same time.
That was a pretty common theory for a long while.
Well, expect Makoto to be the very opposite of her in terms of importance, screen-time and general treatment.
I did but I didn't say anything.
Not Ange specifically, but I'm pretty sure most of us had come to some sort of conclusion that they were all connected in some manner.
I kind of thought it in the back of my head. I was almost certain Ai was Ange. I was 99% there was a connection between Regina and Aguri. I knew there were connections between both Ai and Regina and Ai and Ace. (The former actually being kind of subtle)
Smart little girls.
Also very bitter and disgruntled a lot of the time.
Well shit. At least there's Regina now.
We even had a Sebastian/Mamo episode. I'd say the filler was fun. Some specific episodes weren't all that good but I enjoyed the majority of episodes in DokiDoki.
No one was certain, of course, but the correct ideas had been all proposed. Personally, I was firmly in the "Joe is the King" camp, but alas.
Personally, I think if you ignore the plot entirely, Doki becomes a very strong season. It's also pretty strong if you focus on the plot and ignore the filler.
The real problems with Doki break down into two things:
Animation content (Fights and Stock)
Pacing and episode ordering.
It's kind of like the Doki production team had a jigsaw puzzle that should have made a beautiful picture, but they put a lot of pieces in the wrong places and even lost a few.
Now that I think about it, there were a lot fewer actual filler episodes than I remember. And most of them were great.
Fuck it, I love Doki. Bar one or two things it's been really enjoyable. People are focusing so much on one part that they're completely ignoring the stuff that makes it fun.
How is Ace?
> the feeling of seeing something taken before the very eyes of someone else
Describe it to me.
Tea into rice means you're not welcome in nip customs, ya?
I like Doki a lot but man, it's got jack shit in the way of good reaction image potential. I can count on one hand the number of facial expressions I thought were worth screencapping throughout Doki.
Depends if you like Regina or not.
Regardless, she's a bigger bitch than Ako.
#1 on the list.
There are some good ones
>I don't remember a Precure season that actually fills the year with plot.
That was the worst part of the show.
This has been my point for a long time.
I'm not so sure about that
The fights being bad is something I'd say is blown out of proportions. Some of them were average or less than average but it did have some very exciting ones once in a while. But I agree on the episode ordering, they could have balanced the filler and plot better than they did.
It'd would have been nice if the animation in general has gotten some more budget but I have a feeling HaCha is going to have a pretty fat budget, at least in comparison.
Well, being the on-going show means getting criticized the most too, I guess. Personally, I don't think there's a single bad precure season so far.
I love Doki too but I've been having mixed feelings about some of the latest episodes. Never mind, I just hope the next two episodes will be great so It could finish leaving a good taste in my mouth.
You can't be serious.
>All of Alice's episodes
Rose festival sucked. Cutie Madam was not Alice and is overrated. Space episode was even not that good. Alice is such a boring character that it hurts her episodes.
Fuck you, Alice is great.
The festival episode was great for them.
Do you like sixth rangers that steal the spotlight from the main characters? Do you like little girls acting like stuck up adults? Do you like Kugimiya Rie?
She's bad. She's only slightly above Mana because Mana is so horrible.
>Not liking the Ojousamas In Space.
Well, now I know you're talking bollocks.
>Space episode was even not that good.
Negatone, you just went full Westar.
Never go full Westar.
You're also forgetting Cure Butler, and Wacko Mansion + Rosetta Balloon episodes. Your opinion sucks.
She's okay. Shitty introduction but an alright character.
>Rosetta Balloon episodes
>alice episode hate
It's like we're watching different shows.
It's gonna happen, right?
I probably would have loved Ace in a less crowded season.
I mentioned Cutie Madam.
The father episode was the one really good one. But Rosetta Balloon is a horrible thing from that episode.
She's incredibly boring and poorly developed.
I'm fucked, aren't I
They technically never said that Rosetta Balloon would ever appear again.
>But Rosetta Balloon is a horrible thing from that episode.
It was an ad for a toy.
The show actually makes a lot more sense once you fully embrace the vision of your plastic-crack overlords at Toei.
That logic doesn't work when you have good "ads" at the same time.
And that doesn't stop it from being horrible either.
Will HaCha be as plot-driven as Dokidoki?
I just hope the plot is about the Cures this time and not about some selfish princess that nobody cares about
Might have worded that better since there's Cure Princess.
The bad fights were useless. I would have rathere they just done away with the MoTW format and not had a villain show up that week.
The mediocre fights just didn't have anything to draw me in, except direct comparison to the bad ones.
>She actually made physical contact with her foe!
The good fights were fucking spectacular.
It'll be as plot-driven as Gaim.
A list requires that you use the plural form.
It was an Alice episode. It was when she got her powerup. She trained at home, transformed first, and fought Cuite Madam 1v1. All throughout the episode there was development between her and Sabastian as well, including one of the most memorable and heartwarming final shots in the series.
>Rose festival sucked
Your opinion sucks. It was the first real Alice episode, and right away we got to see her dealing with the struggles of running the business in her father's absence.
>Furious loli Alice beats the shit out of middle schoolers
The rest of the episode she beats the shit out of Reina in every competition in creative ways. In the fight against the Jikochu, she proves her worth as a Precure and SHOOTS THE FUCKING BARRIER at it. The whole episode confirms how much she has matured as both a person, and a Precure.
Alice may not have had the most screen time, but calling her boring is stupid.
They'll lift the King's Psyche from KJs body by attaching it to a Rosetta Balloon.
Did some recolors.
Purple Lovely is best Lovely.
Now that I think about it, I've had her name wrong for a while. Fortune is Player 4 Lovely, not Player 2. How silly of me.
Can't be P4 if there's no P2 or P3.
Calling her boring is accurate.
>throughout the episode there was development between her and Sabastian as well
No there wasn't. Their relationship didn't change nor did we learn anything new about it that wasn't previously apparent.
Alice didn't grow at all or learn anything in that episode that she shouldn't have already known. It was like the show felt like making her dumber or more ignorant to give an excuse for her power up.
Player 2 is Princess and Player 3 is Seiji, of course.
You don't know how this works, do you?
If I didn't know, I'd have thought blue was the original.
>No there wasn't
Yes there was. Their relationship had trust issues. Sebastion went behind her back to try to do something for her that ended up causing all the trouble. It made Alice realize how much Sebastion had really been doing for her behind the scenes throughout her life.
>This time, I'll be the one to protect you.
Queue fighting with Cutie Madam, and through the dedication she had to train alone at home against simulated Jikochus and shit, combined with her newly strengthened relationship with her long time friend and mentor, she gets her powerup. They didn't make her dumber.
Legend of the Galactic Precures when?
Whoops, grabbed the wrong cap.
>Legend of the Galactic Precures
I'd watch it.
Blue is definitely more pink than pink is pink.
I'm actually curious as to what would happen on /a/ and /m/ if that aired.
/m/ wouldn't allow it because it's about girls and the threads on /a/ would be full of shitposting and IRC trolling like every other thread on /a/. There.
/m/ loves Robot Girls Z.
That's good to hear.
"I'm hear to ruin magical girls"
See, my problem with Doki has never been the plot or the bad fighting, given that I enjoyed the heck out of Smile and I'm well aware it has no plot and reuses stock footage like nobody else.
The difference is that I like most of the Smile characters, and even if a character isn't my favorite I never dislike them.
In Doki, there's only one cure I actually like. The rest of the team I either don't care about or downright dislike, and that massively decreases my enjoyment of the show.
No they don't. The small group of circlejerkers inhabiting the general thread do.
Shut up, spic.
According to /pc/, any magical girl show that's not Precure is ruining magical girls.
Understandable. It's hard to like any show if you don't like the characters.
Fuck off, kike.
That's entirely untrue.
Most of these threads have people who watch a variety of them.
Which crossover movies are worth watching? This gif is from the first one, right?
OREGANOS YOU MOTHERFUCKER
Nah, vividred was just ASS
Why are the MH villains so good?
All but NS2 I'd say.
LogH threads on /a/ are actually pretty civil, most of the time. But nowadays that sort of attracts the bad sort of attention.
I like quite a few other magical girl shows. Honestly, many of them more than precure.
Doki really did go through a bunch of cycles of introducing seemingly unlikeable characters, then explaining why they aren't all that bad over time. I think every new character, with the exception of maybe Regina, was disliked at first. Seems like a lot of people either didn't want to stick around for weeks on end to see if they'd like those characters, or just decided they'd dislike them regardless of what happened next. At the end of the day, it's Toei's fault for cramming the plot and filler together in such an obtuse manner.
In hindsight I find the "It's a legitimate mental, magically induced issue" explanation for Ace's behaviour pretty hilarious.
They will perma-henshin into Ace. This way EVERYONE can be a little bit unhappy.
DX3 > DX 1 > NS2 > NS1 = DX 2
Bonus: DX 3D Live
Eh, guess I'll just watch all of them.
You mean NS1? NS2 had some good moments. NS1 had reinforcement Precure.
DX II. Gah.
It'll be fine.
Doki worked so hard to make most of the Cures useless. It's a story about Mana, Aguri, and Regina, with the others there just to make a team.
I probably enjoyed the fairies more than the average anon.
NS1 had some good action, but way too little.
NS2 had only shitty action.
>there are people in this thread RIGHT NOW who aren't shitposting their way to the 1M get on /foolz/
> not being superior /gold/ master race
Doki was never really a team, more like a harem.
The characters don't really have a bound together as a team, but are more connected to mana.
I think this whole harem group thing of doki really became worse when a fifth character was added.
Either Regina or Ace.
>giving a damn about /foolz/
Pantyshot or swimsuits.
Uraganos gets reborn as Bunbee in his next life.
My only disappointment with Alice was that she didn't use her shields offensively more often. It was great whenever she did.
Wait, I missed the stream, was everything actually not-animated?
Alice's comment about Rosetta balloon was to get kids to buy the Magical Lovely pad because THAT'S where the things that come out are different.
Most of the scenes that weren't action ones or pans/etc. still had some movement in them. That was just to save time, I guess.
I miss MKTN's incestuous boyfriend issues.
Japanese PTA ain't gonna have none of that shit.
Ace and Makoto really could have been the same person.
How about incestuous boyfriend ~undertones~ then?
Same. I would like more divorced parents and things of that nature, too. Family members are like free backstory and character development opportunities, but Precure rarely capitalizes on them. I'd like more than one episode.
I never watched any precure. Should I begin from the first series and slowly make my way or there are some things that I can skip?
Don't watch Max Heart or GoGo. They're sequels and kind of eh.
But yes, do as you proposed.
HeartCatch first, no exceptions.
I liked how Hibiki's parents were separated and Hibiki consequently idolized her absent mommy and took out her abandonment issues on her long-suffering daddy (and on Kanade of course).
Don't start with a sequel season (GoGo or MaxHeart).
Do start anywhere else.
"Futari wa" is a good season, as are HeatCatch, Yes!5, SplashStar or Fresh.
Watch any season that looks interesting to you. Most people would say to watch in order, but I prefer to scramble.
That's not what Akane thinks
Start anywhere you like. If it's bad, blame Decade.
>Don't watch Max Heart
Screw that. FW's ending is awful without MH's.
ONORE CURE DECADE
>Don't watch Max Heart or GoGo. They're sequels and kind of eh.
You must like having your giggles, m80.
>391 episodes total
Sometimes, I wish I still was a NEET.
I wouldn't reccomend it. There's not really anything to be gained by going chronologically. The first five seasons in a row are much more similar than the seasons that came after, so it's easy to get burnt out that way.
Follow HaCha as it airs in three weeks, and pick up whichever past season catches your interest at the same time.
It's okay, you'll catch up in a year or two.
Precure is not worth giving up a job.
I was almost feeling proud that I'm about to finish Precure but then I remember my friend who watched Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z in like a month or something and now I feel like a slowpoke.
Where do people find the attention span to marathon huge shows or franchises?
>hibiki with the drum things
Nor am I implying as such. Just pointing out that it would much easier if still was in that period between jobs.
Having fun when watching
And now the trumpet is playing in my head. Thanks
Not him. Which ones are the most gay?
Oh god, I didn't see that.
DokiDoki is pretty gay.
SS, Suite and Doki.
Doki and Suite.
I marathoded both Suite and fresh in the same week because I really liked them. On the other hand, it's taken me 3 weeks for MH.
For me it has less to do with how focused I can be and more to do with autism.
Welp. Guess we are unanimous.
I hated ace during her introduction because she was JUST introduced and already starts bossing around.
It would have made more sense if Makoto was commanding the group to become stronger because she is supposed to be the veteran of the group.
I'm having plenty of fun but after a few episodes I just lose motivation to keep watching the next episode and then kind of browse 4chan instead.
I watch like three episodes a day, sometimes more if I really really really like the show I'm watching.
Suite I finished pretty fast because I really loved it. Fresh I really enjoyed but at some point I just didn't watch a new episode for like a month and after that I marathoned the rest in a few days.
I think the last 50 episode kids' show I actually enjoyed was Saint Seiya. I like the character/suit designs of Kamen Rider and Precure more than the actual shows.
>It would have made more sense if Makoto was commanding the group to become stronger because she is supposed to be the veteran of the group.
As the weakest Doki, she is in no position to boss around anyone.
Not really. They would have to greatly alter the Ange stuff.
The funniest thing about Ace is imagining her in other series.
>Saying to Hibiki that Kanade holds no Love
>Questioning Tsubomi's motivation and LOVE and taking her henshin device in front of Erika
>Departing to kill Honoka
>Trying to boss Nozomi and Milk around
>Trying to discipline Fresh
She already overworked herself to achieve stuff. After the royal crystal thing, she was at the best point possible to demand more effort.
Of course, without the holier than thou attitude, but rather something like "I'll ned your help to end this, but we're still too weak. We'll change that" and stuff.
Well, let's put it differently then because I admit I formulated it badly. Ace and Makoto both are the same archetype and have similar motivations to the point where Makoto's already weak role gets completely lost in the noise.
>It would have made more sense if Makoto was commanding the group to become stronger because she is supposed to be the veteran of the group.
Yea that... was a mistake in and of itself. She's like a sixth ranger that got nerfed on episode three.
Fukken HELL Toei, you're one of the oldest in the business and you still manage to mess up all the time.
I don't know if it was better or worse that ace turned out to be just a bossy little girl.
Not really that hard. Even if we still go with the separated heart thing, Ai could be the LOVE THE WORLD part. Just leaving no pseudo-body behind.
Precure Team Racing All Stars when?
>Just leaving no pseudo-body behind
Well, they can't really do that, they still need to leave a body behind when their psyche is torn out.
Dude, if the crystallized corpse of the princess didn't turn into an egg that hatched into a baby, Doki would make no sense.
>Punched on the face
>Device overtook ny force
>Butting heads with Milk. Nozomi finding counter-arguments all the time
>Getting foiled by Wester's silly MotW every time she's close to imposing her over the team
>Yea that... was a mistake in and of itself. She's like a sixth ranger that got nerfed on episode three.
Doki's biggest mistake was crowding up the season so much.
Ace would have been interesting even if there were no sympathetic Regina, if she were the counterpart to Queen Jikochuu or whatever.
Likewise, a sympathetic Regina would have been interesting even if Ace didn't exist at all, and Makoto did all the backstory / veteran / drill sgt / commander stuff.
Doki was great in that it stuffed a lot into the PreCure format, but it tried to do too much and lost its way for a while.
I waste most time thinking about what to watch and my endless backlog. Once I get really into something, I just can't stop and want more and more.
Special conditions and yada yada.
Or just make the popsicle be the actual thing instead of another red herring.
Okay, but then how is Makoto being Ace? That's jst removing Ace completely.
Again, not really. Makoto's motivations were about finding the princess out of one-sided orphan-mother love. She also wasn't big on teamwork because of trauma over watching all her comrades die. Ace's motivations are to get stronger and retake the Trump Kingdom by force out of duty to / love for her country. Given that one of Doki's main themes is the contrast between selfish love and selfless love, I don't think that two characters on opposite sides of that division should be equated.
>a sympathetic Regina would have been interesting even if Ace didn't exist at all
Well, she was before Ace showed up. And would have been even better (and cuter) were it not for that couple TWEESTS.
I miss Suite. It managed to stuff even more plot points and relevant characters and do a quite nice job with it.
Maybe I need to like, cut off my internet to make up for my poor attention span or something.
She's not being Ace, she's fulfilling Ace's roles.
The point was that there was a massive overlap with Sword when Ace was introduced.
I used to cut off my internet all the time! It was fun and I finished a lot of anime thanks to that
Let's play "how would you fix dokidoki?"
One major complaint of dokidoki is Regina, or rather the Regina arc.
I have an idea; let's expand it!
But instead of focusing only on Regina and Mana, also focus on the other doki's.
Make a whole episode or more about what they think of Regina and how they slowly befriend her and accept her intro the group.
Another problem; everything about ace.
Let's just get rid of her entirely.
The whole "light and shadow of ange" can easlily get changed into "jikochu of ange" with only regins and ai.
Ai doesn't need to become someone's fairy, all she does is just kyupirapa'ing.
Do you have any good idea's?
Then since Ace is plot relevant, it would probably be a smarter idea to can Makoto.
Which would be terrible, but still.
Sword showed concern for both Ange and the Kingdom separately.
She didn't hold a grudge against Regina because of what happened to Ange, for instance.
And in her case, that duality isn't even divisive.
And I'm saying there wasn't. Sword never played a role similar to Ace. Maybe people would have liked her to, but she never did. And as she was at that point, it wouldn't make sense for her to. It would be a significant change in her character.
If anyone should have taken Ace's role, it should have been Jonathan.
Is the theme here midriffs, or am I looking at a deeper joke?
>Ace would have been interesting even if there were no sympathetic Regina, if she were the counterpart to Queen Jikochuu or whatever.
> Likewise, a sympathetic Regina would have been interesting even if Ace didn't exist at all, and Makoto did all the backstory / veteran / drill sgt / commander stuff.
Facts. The writers need someone to tell them to shut up once in a while without it being toy-related. Also, why don't Cures use fashion and such more? It would make the series more interesting and allow more things that aren't power ups to be pushed.
>the contrast between selfish love and selfless love,
Fair enough, but having two very NO FUN, WE NEED TO PUSH MORE ((>>100132732))
charas in the show got annoying.
Yes, your point makes sense from a storytelling perspective but that doesn't make it any more appealing to me.
...yes. Pretty much.
>how would you fix dokidoki?
Make MakoPi relevant.
>Is the theme here midriffs, or am I looking at a deeper joke?
They both have the same VA, silly.
>Is the theme here midriffs, or am I looking at a deeper joke?
Doki's not broken, just out of time.
>Make a whole episode or more about what they think of Regina and how they slowly befriend her and accept her intro the group.
Well, they did. In her first arc and her purple arc. You can say that they didn't do it well, but both of Regina's arcs are definitely divided into character episodes for each Cure.
I think Dokidoki is pretty good already, but while we're wishing, I'd give MakoP more focus. Because she's really cute.
Delete Aguri. Fold Ace into Ai-chan.
Regina's arc and the way the show handled the other characters warming up to her was fine.
It was rather strange when that happened in the purple regina arc.
The characters autimatically agree with mana and want regina to return mana's love.
They are talking to regina as if it supposed to look like they had a strong bound with her while in reality the first regina arc was more mana who got a strong bound with regina.
The episode's where each induvidual character show her love to regina should have been used much earlier during the first regina arc.
I think you can go 2 ways: one would be as you said, cut out Ace. The other would be to shaft everyone and just go with Cure Dead and her companions. Or if that's impossible, make it a two cure show and have plenty of flashbacks with Cure Dead. If they did that, it would help containing Mana's sueness as she would be contending screentime with another powerful cure, even more powerful then her possibly.
The only thing that's really actively bothering me is the Mana-wanking.
The staff is in love with her, the ride will never end.
Staff has good taste.
Mana is lovely and oh so deliciously flawed.
Then clearly the ultimate conclusion is to change the staff.
Mana is lovely. Them bringing how everyone loves her five times every episode isn't.
Mana is only a bad character if you're taking Doki as a serious narrative work and not just "friendship trumps all, fuck everything else".
As a friendship machine Mana is goddamn great.
Actually, let me expand on that.
Have Mana and Makopi be the only cures. I liked Rikka and Alice as characters, but their role in the story just isn't much. Instead, show that Mana has no friends because her perfection alienates her from other people.
Makopi will eventually become her friend of course, and being the only other cure would mean she could get enough development (unless they fuck up of course). Retain the main plot about finding Ange, but cut off Joe (instead make Makopi do the useful stuff he did, like, you know, finding Ange). Lower Ange's age considerably. Have Regina and Ai combine and become a cure.
Mix in more footage about past cures and the treasures and stuff (even as filler, since there's only 2 cures it's fine).
There you go, 10/10 would favorite.
They've never done that mid-season in Precure as far as I know.
Yeah I wish we had Yes!5 tier interactions rather than Pink Privilege Overrun.
Why does Alice have the best porn art? Is it because she's rich?
Imagine how deredere Mana could be in the movie.
>cut off Joe
>make Makopi do the useful stuff he did
>Lower Ange's age considerably
Well, I'm not sure how to feel about those, but other than that, I'd say 9/10.
>Instead, show that Mana has no friends because her perfection alienates her from other people.
I don't like this.
Keep Rikka and Alice. Rikka is Mana's best friend and confidant. Alice is a good friend and financial benefactor. Neither of them need to be Cures to fulfill those roles.
It's still hard to go with so few characters. Besides the issue with Sword becoming more relevant than Heart, what would happen in Regina's arc? There's only so much you can do with two cures. And with Makoto being he ronly friend but now angry at Mana for befriending the enemy, things would probably have worked out very differently.
You're really going to like HaCha, huh?
That sounds fucking awesome, except I do like Joe existing because I like how he highlights the difference between absurdly accepting Mana and the sensible one (in your case that would be Makoπ rather than canon which had Rikka in that role). I like how Joe is objectively a fishy character.
That could work. I'd miss Rikka's support and Alice's funky episodes, but it could work very well.
>Mana is only a bad character if you're taking Doki as a serious narrative work
I agree on this. I watched Doki staying out of threads for as long as I could, and I was surprised at how much hate she got. People just don't watch many children shows outside of Precure to realize this.
>Imagine how deredere Mana could be in the movie.
>what would happen in Regina's arc?
The same thing that happened in the show itself - Mana wants to be her friend and Makoto wants her to fuck off. Everything that was done can be done with those two alone, since Rikka and Alice are ultimately irrelevant even in the show right now.
Make Alice join the team as a Precure around mid season. Having her on the sidelines as a producer was a fun idea that was dropped too early.
Pixiv. I'd post stuff but this is a Christian image board.
>Having her on the sidelines as a producer was a fun idea that was dropped too early.
That would be hilarious.
To be honest, I'm not hyped about it. But that's for entirely different reasons.
>things would probably have worked out very differently.
That's kind of a good thing on my book though.
Alice is completely useless as a Cure, though. It would be better to keep her as a producer and expand that concept throughout the show. Imagine the Cure Batman episode going from filler comedy to something heartfelt and cute when Alice tries to become a Cure through outside means but ultimately doesn't accomplish anything and makes Mana worry about her.
Then we would be bitching about how Alice and Rikka were so much wasted potential, like Waon
Unused wasted potential is better than used yet wasted potential.
It reminds me how the creators had good ideas in the beginning, but it was probably bogged down by Bandai pushing for more characters to have more merch. If Alice wasn't a Cure, she would have been written off the show entirely.
That could work.
I like that idea.
Maybe even create a little subplot about alice being some forgotten childhood friend of mana and trying to get close to her again?
Rikka could also become plot relevant very easily.
Place that ira episode somewhere earlier in the season and use that of the start of another subplot or part of the main plot in some kind of way.
>it was probably bogged down by Bandai pushing for more characters to have more merch
And that's probably why we won't be getting less than 3 cures per season anymore.
>Place that ira episode somewhere earlier in the season and use that of the start of another subplot or part of the main plot in some kind of way.
Villain + background girl romance would have been pretty novel and kinda interesting.
The number of Cures doesn't matter, it's how they're used that's important. Doki's problem is that Diamond and Rosetta aren't even there for the most part. I'm perfectly fine with Manacentricity because I like her as a character and I'm a big fan of "I'M GOING TO BEFRIEND THE SHIT OUT OF YOU" characters, but Doki wasted too much filler on nothing at all.
Take the Ira/Diamond thing and make that more important. Take the Cure Batman thing and make that more important. Even if they're meaningless to the overall Regina/Ace/Ange/BK plot they've at least got some bearing on the minute-by-minute events and interactions with the characters and the world.
Let's face it. If the current staff had any influence whatsoever in HaCha, Mana would be a prominent side character at the very least.
Doki Cures being important in NS3 was granted, but the princess-style carry was a bit much.
The one thread I skip because I'm sick of the overall bitching, bad attitudes and etc and there's a half-decent conversation going for all of it.
>It reminds me how the creators had good ideas in the beginning, but it was probably bogged down by Bandai pushing for more characters to have more merch. If Alice wasn't a Cure, she would have been written off the show entirely.
In my opinion, a good writer, specially one who is working with Toei and Bandai and specially a kid show should be able to adapt to the toy commercial whims and don't let it affect their story. Just look at Urobuchi and Gaim right now.
>Yomiuri: A lot of the Kamen Rider Gaim viewers are watching the show, purely after seeing your job on Madoka. How does that make you feel?
Gen Urobuchi: It does make me happy that the show is getting attention, but I’d like to remind people that it’s two different shows. I might be writing both and they’re both airing on TV, but it’s two completely different things. Kamen Rider isn’t airing during the night, it’s a children’s TV show airing Sunday mornings. I have to think about the toys when I’m writing, so this isn’t gonna be like anything I’ve written before.
Nigga knew how to adapt.
And honestly? It didn't affect the story, from day 1 Doki has been The Mana Show, which is the original intention of the writers as they have said many times. The only way Alice's becoming a Cure affected anything was make Alicefags mad because her character ended up a big ball of nothing like 3/4 of the cast.
But hey, at least Alice's character was not assassinated like Makoto.
Sounds good to me. Maybe they could go out for a chocolate parfait.
>No Passion, Sunshine, Moonlight, Beat, Honey, etc.
I'm not saying that they should stop making teams of 4 or more Cures, jsut saying to maybe make one team with 2 or 3 Cures every once in a while. At least we're getting 2/3 starting Cures now.
I like the Suite formula.
I like the Splash Star formula.
Urobuchi is much better at writing long-form works than simple anime series, and he has a lot more time to develop characters and character relationships with Gaim so I'm sure that helps, but it's really surprising how well he's adapted to writing around toys and upgrades and stuff. We're 13 episodes into Gaim and nothing feels superfluous at all.
Precure would be much better if the writers could approach it in the same way, with an unfolding plot and arcs rather than having to shoehorn a bunch of stock footage into every episode.
>I'm going to shiawase the FUCK out of you.
Haven't watched SS yet saving the best for later but the formula I mean is adding one Cure mid-season and another Cure near the end.
I guess it's also the HC formula?
He has more leeway when it comes to the story since he's allowed to have more violence, and the age range is higher, so he can have deeper stories and dialogues. It's weird to admit, but the stories in Precure are the way they are because they don't want anything complicated that would confuse little girls. Doki is as complicated as it's ever gotten.
