When did you drop the NGE dub?
I had to stop watching when I heard Asuka's voice actor. She sounded like a fat 30 year old German housewife
>She sounded like a fat 30 year old German housewife
How the hell do you know that?
Fantastic b8 m8
I never watched the dub, as any decent person would.
Any decent person would watch the dub?
Pretty much this. Dubfags can go back to gaia or wherever you came from.
To be fair, I only watched it after I finished the sub. The only good English voice was Ritsuko
Are there any differences between the two or do you just go with the Jap dub out of principle?
Tiffany Grant is her own waifu. And frankly a better Asuka than Jap.
>not liking Asuka's waifu
get a load of this faggot.
3 episodes was all I could take
It's not like it aired subbed on TV, and I would imagine not a lot of kids were aware of the fansubbing scene
How new are you?
>When did you drop the NGE dub?
Jokes on you, the first time I watched NGE was on a bootleg VHS copy that had half the series subbed and half of it dubbed
I still have the tapes
I didn't. Watched the entire thing back on VHS in the 90's. At the time I didn't know there was any alternative. Had never seen any subbed anime until after I had finished watching it. EoE's fansub was my first time watching Eva subbed.
Okay, sue me, the original NGE vs. dubbed NGE.
I saw it in Spanish with my cousin who had tapes several years ago. He stopped following anime, and his mind was blown when I told him about the rebuild movies.
Anyways, the spanish dub was solid. Not great, but pretty good. Naturally, because people saw it when they were kids, it gets the nostalgic overrating.
I dropped it when I heard Gendo. I usually don't mind a different sounding voice (Misato's was OK) but he sounded fucking goofy
Subbed is infinitely better. To me, the voice acting is perfect for the characters, but I guess that could be because I watched them first
I've only ever watched fragments.
Some of it sounds good, others not so much.
>believing in infinity
I'm going to get burned at the stake for this, but I don't mind NGE's dub. The early 6 or so episodes are slightly grating because of the circumstances in which ADV was getting the tapes of Eva to dub, but after a while, the VA's definitely got it down.
I'd say the main issue is that the original NGE, EoE and the directors cut have different VA's for several characters due to issues of who licensed what.
Why would you get burned at the stake?
There's a difference between not minding them and preferring them
looks like someone just finished his philosophy unit in high school
Forgot this is nighttime /a/. Not too many newfags trying to be oldfags.
Is that seriously how you pronounce Asuka? Fucking dropped.
I watched everything except Rebuild as a dub. I've never really minded dubs and prefer to be able to take in all the scenes rather than trying to chameleon eye the text. I was kinda disappointed when Asuka's accent faded over the course of the first episode.
And yet failed math.
There and an infinite number of infinities. Some infinities are larger than others.
Also, if he ever took philosophy he'd know Zeno's Paradox.
Overall, I actually do like the dub as well. And yeah, the differences in EoE due to licensing were one thing, but some of the decisions and translations were really fucking stupid. Like the generic watermelon splat when Misato shot that JSDF guy.
I don't think you can drop something that you're not watching.
>There are* an infinite...
I guess this is my last beer.
How is it wrong? At least it's not the "Ask-uh" that one guy pronounced it in that video where he pretending to know what "An-oh" was thinking when he made EoE.
dropped as waifu
It's obvious she was never you're waifu in the first place.
it's not that its wrong its that it sounds like shit
Sort of off topic but Eva related. I'm still hoping that we get the original Frank Sinatra version of Fly Me to the Moon at some point in the series. I remember thinking that during whichever episode it was that they started playing around with different versions of the song.
