Post manga that don't yet have anime adaptations, but need one are also likely to get them.
(which means don't post stuff like Biscuit Hammer which is never going to get an anime)
I'll start with pic related. It's one of the two currently running series by the mangaka of Bisuit Hammer called Sengoku Youko.
It's a pretty decent monthly battle series that has over 70 chapters and while it runs in a niche magazine it still sells decently despite that.
Nothing needs an anime adaption. Fuck adaptions; we need less of them and more originals.
Buyuden is a boxing manga and the currently running series by the mangaka who did the famous Baseball manga Major. It's quite good and while it isn't an incredibly popular series in Weekly Shonen Sunday, it does well enough and has over 100 chapters.
Destroy and Revolution is a monthly series that runs in Weekly Young Jump. It's very very cool and is kind of like Akira meets Death Note.
It's by the mangaka of Suicide Island and Holyland.
Wait no! I change my mind.
Virgin's Empire needs an OVA!
This isn't going to get an anime.
They actually did Major? I admit I have no idea what it was, but I know it was well known.
Likely to get them? Uh, I don't think so.
A monthly seinen manga with beautiful art. The plot is a bit generic but it's very well done and it would lend itself amazingly to animation.
akame ga kill!
Anything by ONE.
Just imagine Mob Psycho animated.
Yes they did Major. The anime was a success as well.
And Buyden will get an anime at some point. Especially since Weekly Shonen Sunday has been making a big push for their series to be animated lately.
Actually, I guess it would. I"d watch it, even though I'm a few chapters behind on the manga ( which you just reminded me to rectify ).
It just had an anime adaptation announced so it doesn't count in this thread.
Is that an axe? What kind of MC uses a axe?
I imagine an official net animation.
Fuck, I can already see the anime-only cancer and Gary Stu accusations flying left and right.
Sadly Red Hawk Scans dropped their scanlation of it. I read the raws myself.
Nothing from Mizukami will ever get an anime adaptation OP, you're just going to have to come to terms with that
who would animate it?
Sengoku Youko is shit as well as wakusei no samidare
Rising x Rydeen is a monthly comedy manga that also switches between being a battle manga and a harem manga. It's very popular in the magazine it runs in.
It's about an MC who always wanted to have super powers, and when he finally get them it turns out his power is the ability to shoot blasts of cum out of anywhere on his body.
This could make for a decent late-night series.
Anime adaptation is getting formally announced next issue
LIVE ACTION LIVE ACTION. I just want to see it piss off so many people.
that is great news!
I think he'll get one eventually. His meltdown destroyed Biscuit Hammers chances of an anime, but I think Sengoku Youko might.
Are you autistic? Google it motherfucker.
You are dumb.
This one needs to be animated, but I know it never will be.
They would probably animate OPM first
Which would be fantastic
who am I fucking kidding I think it already even ended in japan
The same people who did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ief4qbFapZI
Also, jesus fucking christ, who the fuck still reads manga on youtube. I thought this died years ago.
It's even mangareader.
OMK would do amazing as an anime adaptation, given it's complete and the source material looks like absolute ass. It'd cost less to adapt because it's a doujin as well
Nanatsu no Taizai is an incredibly popular battle manga in Weekly Shonen Magazine and is practically guaranteed an anime in 2015 when it has over 100 chapters. It's a sword and sorcery manga with lots of Arthurian influences and references. It's by the mangaka of Kongou Banchou
This would make a nice ova series.
That animation looks like they'd do OnePunch Man all kinds of justice

I like the Oreimo art style.
Since it is short, I'll watch it sometime later.

How did Tama manage to avoid slapping Jinka when he said this shit. That's some powerful resolve.
Jumbor is a monthly seinen manga by the mangaka of Shaman King. It's quite good. It's not very popular in the magazine it runs in (Ultra Jump), but it's been running for a while in it so it's not likely it will get cancelled. The name-value of the mangaka alone and the fact that his other currently running series Shaman King Flowers will never get animated unless there is a reboot anime of the original Shaman King manga, makes the chances for this series to get an adaptation not entirely unlikely.
The mangaka himself has said this will never get an anime adaptation.
>Sadly Red Hawk Scans
I used to hold these guys in pretty high esteem. But they got some Chinese mob shit on their associates list now and I don't know what to think anymore.
hmm seems interesting yo, def. gonna check it out
>his power is the ability to shoot blasts of cum out of anywhere on his body.
Did he hate Azumanga's anime or something?
I agree, this one is pretty cool
>Did he hate Azumanga's anime or something?
Yeah as I recall he said he was disappointed with that animation and didn't want the same thing to happen with Yotsuba&!
That said I don't think I even want a Yotsuba anime. I just don't think an anime would capture the amazing feeling the manga gives.
>Chinese mob shit on their associates list now
Another series that is almost guaranteed an anime later.
It's considered the be on of the Big 3 of Weekly Young Jump's battle manga (Kingdom, Tokyo Ghoul, and Terra ForMars) and is very popular. It's a battle manga about vampires and is pretty decent as well.
I feel like I missed something here.
I would love to see a new Trigun anime that followed the events of Trigun Maximum. There's just so much more there to work with than the original anime had. I doubt it will ever happen though.
Ajin is a monthly series that's only been running for about a year but is already quite popular and will for sure get an anime in a few more years when it has enough chapters. It's pretty similar to Tokyo Ghoul in a lot of ways.
From my understanding, several studios wanted to adapt Biscuit Hammer but he was adamant that it would only be allowed to be adapted if it was done by Gainax and had a soundtrack done by The Pillows. He was apparently very immature about it all as well which according to 2ch and other Japanese communities makes it so it's said that a lot of animation companies don't want to work with him at all anymore.
Owned by the mob.
It ended years ago. There is absolutely zero chance for an anime you fucking retard.
Ah, come the fuck on. They're still pretty good.
And Parasyte ended 20 years ago, what's your point?
Do japanese studios even adapt manga that already ended?
I don't think they do it, unless it already had a season and it sold well.
Another series that is very likely to get an anime adaptation.
It's a decently popular battle series in Weekly Shonen Jump. Jump has been making hardcore efforts to push the series and will likely get an anime announcement at the end of 2014 when it nears 100 chapters.
I hear so many different stories about that shit, but one thing I've never seen is actual sources. Take it with a large grain of salt.
Sure, but now I have cookies and java disabled for their domain just in case.
Wait, jumbor is going AGAIN? Is that like the third time it's been brought back or what
I thought that shit was dead dead for real dead this time
Also, ultimo was legitimately real bad
Shokugeki no Soma is a very popular manga that is illustrated by the hentai artist Tosh and runs in Weekly Shonen Jump. It's a cooking manga done in the style of a battle manga and like World Trigger will definitely get an anime announcement by the end of the year.
Jumbor was originally cancelled in Weekly Shonen Jump after a few months, but then started again in Ultra Jump and has been serializing every since.
Ultimo was pretty bad though.
Here's his first time using his power, after shouting "Wind! Blow everything to pieces!" (the power he wanted)
Side-note : this manga has the greatest chapter titles.
AssClass (Ansatsu Kyoshitsu/Assassination Classroom) is currently one of the most popular manga in Jump and is constantly switching in and out with One Piece for first place in the ToC popularity rankings, and sells like crazy. It's guaranteed a full anime later on, and has already gotten a one-episode OVA. It's by the mangaka of Neuro.
Why didn't Cage of Eden get an anime? I know it wasn't very good, but I still feel like it had "anime material" written all over it.
Kyoukai no Rinne is the current series by the mangaka of Ramna 1/2 and Inuyasha. It's not super popular in the magazine it runs in, but the name of the mangaka alone will get it an adaptation soon seeing how it's approaching 200 chapters.
Yes, that's the common nickname for it here you new plebeian retard.
Everyone hates the author now
Arslan Senki is by the mangaka of Fullmetal Alchemist and Silver Spoon and is based on a book series called Heroic Legend of Arslan the original writer of the novel series all wrote the novel series that what is commonly agreed to be best anime ever 'Legend of the Galactic Heroes' was based on. I'm not enjoying the manga adaptation so far, but the name of the mangaka, and the material it's based on guarantees it an anime in a few years when it has enough chapters.
I wanted to post the next page. Just because.
Hell, the backlash against him in Japan is so strong right now that his newest series was cancelled in 10 chapters.
KARATE SHOUKOUSHI KOHINATA MINORU
Its aboue Kohinata Minoru doing Karate
i dont think it will get an anime because of the Gay rape.
What'd he do, kill off a popular character in his manga?
>Thinly veiled recommendation thread
Which I'm not minding. I'm actually picking up several of the series OP has posted. Anybody else pick up anything from this thread?
What did he do?
Read the final chapter of Cage of Eden.
No, majority looks like or is shit.
So how does he use this to beat the bad guy?
I'm not sure it's possible to bukakke someone to death
I'm not enjoying this series at all because it's incredibly generic to a fault, but despite that it's pretty popular in Weekly SHonen Magazine because it's the sequel to Negima.
Not a huge fan of the series at all, but it's by the mangaka of Houshin Engi and has decent but not great popularity in Weekly Young Jump. If it lasts long enough it will most likely get an anime.
I thought it got cancelled, so that's why it ended up like that. Are you telling me that was the original planned ending?
Everyone is just going to boycott all his future series like they did with Takei
Kokushi Mousou is already quite popular in Weekly Shonen Sunday and they have also been pushing the series like no other. It will probably get an anime in about two years when it has enough chapters.
Shaman king's takei? Yeah, the stunt he pulled was pretty bullshit
I've heard of pretty much all of them. They're all relatively well known.
Rumor has it according to 2ch that he purposefully ended the series so he could start his new series Charon.
Needless to say people weren't too happy with that and Charon was an immediate flop.
That's the exact opposite of what happened though. Shaman King was cancelled, not purposefully ended. And after the cancellation a fan campaign was so successful in buying copies of the volumes that Jump allowed Takei to finish the manga with a final set of volumes in a huge reprint of the series. The sequel to Shaman King, Shaman King Flowers is currently the flagship title for Jump Kai magazine and is selling incredibly well as well.
Mostly with his wits. He does find some uses to his power though. I would invite you to read it to know more. At least the first chapter, to build yourself a more informed opinion.
Birdmen is the current series my the mangaka of Kekkaishi. It's pretty decent and will probably get an anime later on.
He has a super strong tsundre waifu who fights his battles for him.
Why hasn't this gotten an anime yet, I just don't understand, it was just as big as HnK back then, and it's still running, selling 100,000+ with every new volume
>mangaka of Kekkaishi
Unless the writing has gotten any better, I'll take that as a warning to stay away.
>Shaman King was cancelled, not purposefully ended
No one cares. The ending was so shit everyone boycotted his next work, Jumbor, that fucking cockroach of a series that he just won't let it die.
Jumbor is actually quite good though.
And Jump realized that WSJ fans were being unreasonable which is why they gave Jumbor another shot in Ultra Jump.
This will probably get a TV drama and not an anime
Still waiting for Tonnura-san's manly and sensual voice to grace my ears
It's a completed series.
No chance at an anime.
>Are you autistic? Google it motherfucker.
Learn your facts first before you get your panties in a knot asshat.
There is a big Akame announcement coming up on the 22nd. But no concrete news on an anime adaptation.
>which is why they gave Jumbor another shot in Ultra Jump.
More like Takei begged them to give it another chance after fans forced him to finish Shaman King properly.
It wasn't his fault he didn't get to finish Shaman King in the magazine, Jump is the one who cancelled it.
Why do you keep going beside the point? I'm comparing the part where fans boycott his work because the previous series' ending sucks ass.
But the endings of Shaman King and Cage of Eden are incomparable.
Shaman King was cancelled and thus Takei was forced to end the series prematurely.
The Cage of Eden guy purposely ended his series prematurely to start a new series.
Do you have reading comprehension problems? I don't care about the reason why the ending sucks, the only point that matter is that it sucks, fans mad, they boycott.
Dat newest chapter.
man..that pissed me off so bad..
Eh, it's a very good manga if you haven't read Major already. But it's basically just the same manga only with Boxing instead of Baseball.
Spirit Circle will probably get one close to the end since it seems to be his most popular series.
How the hell do you even take that seriously? He doesn't get adaptations because his stuff isn't economically viable for anime marketing.
This would be a dream come true if done by the people who animated Kill La Kill.
I'm honestly shocked at how fucking good this series actually is and am happy that it's replacing Fairy Tail as WSM's most popular series.
Sengoku Youko is more economically viable for an anime seeing how it's a battle shonen.
>Searched for Denki-gai
>Looked at all the pics
Come'on, /a/. It just needs one.
>Spirit Circle gets adapted
>Suddenly everybody loves Mizukami
>Both Biscuit Hammer and Sengoku Youko get adapted
>Both become incredibly popular
>Biscuit Hammer and Sengoku Youko both get dubs and end up on Toonami
>Influx of retards claiming to be Mizukami fans
>/a/ from then on out hates Mizukami
It isn't. Even jump shonen series don't get good sales beyond the big 3, gintama and fujoshibait. Mizukami's still too small a name for it to work.
You just proved that you're retarded and don't know jack shit about anything.
Nobody gives a shit about Bleach anymore in Japan so there is no more Big 3.
>Suddenly everybody loves Mizukami
Also Hunter x Hunter, AssClass, and Shokugeki no Soma all sell incredibly well as well.
Bleach sales have been meh for quite some fucking time
That's objectively untrue.
One Piece, Narushit, AssClass, Haikyuu, Hunter x Hunter, Kuroko no Basuke, Nisekoi, Saiki Kusuo no Sainan, Gintama, Shokugeki no Soma, and Toriko all sell very well.
Show me the sales of non-jump/sunday shonen manga adaptations.
Anime adaptations. Their adaptations, not the manga sales. I did forget about HxH though.
But anime are only advertisements for the manga anyways, so if an anime is popular then manga sales will go up.
If we are talking about the adaptations then it was incredibly foolish of you to mention Bleach whose anime did so bad it got cancelled.
My point is that fairly popular shonen manga series don't normally see equivalent sales in their adaptation sales. Those that do are the exceptions and the series I named are some of them and most of such series are from Jump or Sunday. Iirc Medaka Box, Nurarihyon and Beelzebub did not do well at all in BD sales.
Mizukami doesn't see anywhere near the popularity of a decent jump series and his publishers very, very rarely commission anime. They have even told him that Biscuit Hammer is not economically viable and that was more popular than Sengoku Youko.
It got three fucking movies. There was a time where bleach had very good sales you know.
TV drama's are the cancer killing anime.
Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that it's not popular anymore and that by the time the anime was cancelled nobody gave a shit about Bleach anymore.
It saw good anime sales at some point that's why it qualifies as an exception. Even then, it still generated more appeal for the manga than the non-exception adaptation.
That mofo son of a bitch, i thought it ended too abrupt.
I wish this came on as anime, although i dont know.
It's not a manga so not very likely at all.
As much as I love it, it'd never get one.
My only solace from that fact is not hearing the anime-only faggots shitposting about MC being a beta for the first arc.
It's super INTERESTING
Too lewd for TV.
It would either have to be an OAV series, or done by XEBEC.
And Franken Fran
>Set in high school
>cute girl heroine
That filled the criteria, add a awesome MC and you got a good anime series bound to happen
That's not whats going to happen
>SY gets adapted
>the series flops
>no hope for other adaptions
>Influx of retards claiming to be Mizukami fans
>people start calling it "shounenshit"
>/a/ hates Mizukami
you know I can kinda see this as an anime
can't see either of these though, probably Fran if the series didn't already finish
All of which will be getting anime if they haven't gotten it already
If Medaka Box can get an anime with its less than stellar manga sells naturally Soma is going to get one
with Jump it's either an anime adaption or the series gets cancelled.
Jaguar never got an anime and it lasted for forever.
I'll wreck ur shit u litle cunt.
well it did get an OVA
and various live action adaptions
With LN adaptions being popular and series like Steins;Gate being made.
I think Qualia has a chance
This. I'd pay good money for this series to be an anime.
Well it's practically guaranteed an anime announcement by the end of the year because of how successful it is.
This will be plenty popular, if it turns out to be a trap harem. Considering the winner of Negima, I would not put it off as impossible.
It's complete at only 3 volumes, Not very likely.
The thing is, the mangaka originally just wanted to write a battle manga when he pitched Negima! but WSM made him make it a Harem so he wouldn't lose his Love Hina audience. It's why Negima! started off as a harem and then gradually became a battle manga.
This time WSM just let him make his generic battle manga.
any one read the gamer?
It's like my teen years fantasy mahnwa
It can be a battle manga for all I care. What I want is shota on shota romance.
oh yeah forgot
also seeing it's an LN it's not actually appropriate in this thread
is this also the case for the LN?
>Fairy Tail as WSM's most popular series
I thought Fairy Tail ran in Jump?
>Every single shonen manga ever ran in Weekly Shonen Jump trope
Hinamatsuri has so many potential. I could see it being animated.
I wonder if that boss dropped something good...
This is so much fun, the pairings everything.
I love cute shit like this.
Why is no one scanlatng it?
Don't ruin my Tail Star
Kekkaishi had horrendous writing mate. I liked the premise and in the beginning the characters were also pretty okay but every story arc played out the same. MC encounters big bad, he can't make a big enough kekkai whereas the technique girl locks down a limb or 2 and they get defeated. MC trains, makes a bigger kekkai while technique girl pretty much twiddles her thumbs. In the end he wins and technique girl is sidelined despite making intricate and heavily layered kekkai, Then there was that rescue the princess arc to shake things up a bit.
>Don't ruin my Tail Star
You have bad taste.
There's nothing wrong with Tail Star.
It's a fun but generic series with great art.
Well sorry I don't want this manga to turn into a joke like KlK.
No. I like Tail Star, I meant he was showing bad judgement in animation studios.
Kill la Kill didn't turn into a joke, it as one to begin with. The name is a fucking three way pun for crying out loud.
But it was cancelled years ago.
I'm just glad Laure and Rak are back. Two of my favorites. But yeah, this will never be animated.
I hope Toei gets this honestly. They always are great at capturing the feel and atmosphere of adventure series, even if the overall production values aren't incredibly high.
